A beautiful place, ideal atmosphere and delicious traditional food

Oh yes, that was a nice lunch with coffee my husband and daughter had together.

We only came for an afternoon drink. Excellent service and the atmosphere in the place is great.

Attentive and friendly service. The food was also excellent and delivered quickly.

They had written a menu for two people and the price was 25 euros, and the waiter said 25 euros. But when we paid the bill, we paid 50 euros. So, the information was wrong.

Food 10/10, service 12/10, ambiance 10/10. This is our favorite spot in the neighborhood. We're here at least once a month.

Great location. We're enjoying mint tea now. But the prices for a sandwich are too expensive, so no sandwich! Too bad, but it's a nice place.

We had a nice experience here. The food was very tasty, with fresh ingredients. The service could be better though. We were waiting almost 15 minutes before we get the menu, although it wasn’t that busy.

I wanted to have beer here near the midnight and the server said they closed the kitchen but they are okay with beer. And they said they close the terrace at midnight but they will close inside at 1, so I sat inside for 15 minutes. There were not many people so they were not busy but the servers were not interested in me for giving the menu or taking the order so I left. It was really weird experience.

Stopped here for bloody good coffee !!! Which was of a very high standard served by totally charming man ( possibly the owner) however all the team were happy and shiny considering how hot the day was. The food around us looked great and a jolly nice time was being had by all. Lovely spot to watch the crowd go by. Thank you we will be back x

Love getting coffee here. The staff is always lovely, the coffee is great and the cookie that comes with it is amazing. Prices are reasonable compared to the Amsterdam standard.

Great atmosphere. On a sunny day it's lovely to sit outside. Food was good as well as service. Beers could be colder, but a good choice. A tad pricey but overall a good experience. Recommended. Also located in a vibrant area in Amsterdam, so worth going for a walk.

Last Friday it was nice to relax on the terrace of the Duvel. I came here regularly 30 years ago and the interior may have been adjusted a bit during that time, but the atmosphere and the menu are still as they used to be. A small menu with all attractive dishes and, importantly, affordable. I ordered a salad with goat cheese and it not only looked beautiful, but the taste was delicious. The waiting staff were super friendly and hospitable, you could see they were working with pleasure, in short, as if time had stood still. I will come back again soon, because the atmosphere of the terrace and the coziness of the neighborhood and market are priceless.

Very tasty vegan club sandwich with hummus and grilled vegetables. Staff were very friendly and the place had a nice relaxed atmosphere. Then you just get 5 stars, we don't make a fuss about that.

Found this bar whilst wandering around and what a great find! Service was great and the sofas were super comfy for sinking a few Herton Jan and taking a few hours off from walking around.

Come here quite often. Why? Its simple: friendy, cozy atmosphere and great food.

A little bit pricey for what we got.

A household name in the pipe for years. Played a big role in my life because my girlfriend worked here and her sister was a manager here for a long time. It is and remains one of the nicest restaurants in the Pipe.

Very nice place in Amsterdam! You can sit outside on the terrace or cozy on the sofas inside. The sandwiches are very tasty and filling! We had the sandwich of the day and a tuna melt.

Everything was fine, beside the fact that I ordered a burger, and they also brought me fries which was an extra 5,5. I only realized after a few hours the meal was more expensive than it should have. I do not find this ok and hope others watch out for it.

None of the staff speaks Dutch anymore or understands what you are talking about, a bit of a faded glory.

We found this restaurant while walking around the markets in Pijp. It was one of the best meals we had while visiting in Amsterdam. Everything was prepared ultra fresh and was quite delicious. My wife had a creamy Miso soup, which we found to be quite unique, and a Caprese sandwich and I had ShakShuka. The ShakShuka had bold flavors of fresh cumin. The service was wonderful. I was viewing the draft beer taps and our server took the time to tell me about every beer on tap. Overall, it was a delicious brunch we had there.

I love everything about this place - the friendly staff, the chilled atmosphere, and the great selection of beer. The really friendly manager gave recommendations of which beers to try while I was waiting for my date to arrive. As it turned out, I'd be waiting quite a long time so got to sample a couple of their specialities. When it became clear my date wasn't going to show (is this a curse?!!), the staff didn't laugh too much and even offered to help me perfect my dating profile. I didn't have one, so we improved my linkedin account. Without De Duvel, I wouldn't have known how to show potential employers my beginner Swedish skills, and that could be a deal-breaker. Amazing place!

Although it's a nice place to be with good atmosphere, it's not done to charge your guests by ordering food like burgers to let them paying seriously high prices and pay extra for this. With a burger fries or rice and salad comes with it. Too arrogant answers like'there is already salad on the burger' is not done. Beware people wherever you go eat in Amsterdam Zuid cafes and restaurants let you pay extra for this. It's bad attitude.

Sehr nettes Ambiente! Leider nur das Stück vom Rand vom Kuchen bekommen. Es war etwas trocken! Kaffee allerdings gut!

Op zondag met 3 personen voor koffie, brownie en bananenbrood (en wijn). Nog nooit een dergelijk bananenbrood gegeten! Leek chocolade cake. Engelstalige serveerster zei dat er toch banaan door zat. Ja, paar kleine stukjes, maar dit had ik niet gewild. Dan had ik chocolade cake gevraagd...

The sweet potato fries were really good! Definitely would go back for them. One of the best places in De Pijp. Service was good too.
