We had a delicious meal and drinks here with the bachelor party, everything was well organized for us. Highly recommended!!!

Food was delicious and good quantities. Location on Rembrandtplein is great. Service friendly and caring. It wasn't really warm inside, hence one star less.

Extensive menu with all kinds of beers and other spirits, we only had coffee and that was no problem.

Visited on 24th December 2024. I was extremely disappointed with my experience. The waitress was rude and abrupt, making us feel unwelcome from the start. She seemed uninterested in serving us. I ordered the whole prawns & chips - the prawns were decent but chips average. My partner ordered the steak which had to be taken back as it was not cooked correctly. When he received this back, it was hardly any better and he could not eat it. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place. There are far better options elsewhere where you’ll be treated with respect and get a decent meal.

Surely one of the best places to enjoy delicious spare ribs, and much more! • The atmosphere was fantastic. • There was almost no waiting time. • The waitress and her colleagues were incredibly kind, always attentive and checking in to make sure everything was going well. • The food was amazing. I started with a “super plate,” which, honestly, could have been a main course; the quantity and quality were excellent. • For my main dish, I had spare ribs accompanied by sweet potatoes, simply perfect! Based on this incredible experience, I can wholeheartedly recommend this place to all my loved ones when they visit Amsterdam!

Unfortunately not a great dinner on Christmas Eve. Full of expectations I went to Beers & Barrels in Amsterdam with my 2 sons. Reviews generally quite good. Upon arrival we had an employee who only spoke poor English and did not understand all English. There were 2 employees in the service who unfortunately did not pay enough attention to the guests. After some bites beforehand, we were able to order the main course after some time. 2x spareribs and 1 Briscuit Steak. The Briscuit steak was disappointing. Should be juicy and tender, which unfortunately it wasn't. The spareribs were initially served with mayonnaise over the spareribs, even though this was not on the menu. So they went back and we didn't eat right away. It was also cold in the front part of the restaurant (canopy without heaters). Very disappointing and incomprehensible that the average Google review is above 4 😞. Not recommended.

Absolutely stinking food, seen it had a good reviews got here stood ages waiting to be seated in a restaurant that had two customers food comes wrong and absolutely stinking a wouldn’t feed a dog what there selling people

Vino por la entrada principal. Esperó en la sección donde le dice que espere a ser servido. Esperó 5 minutos. No hay personal por ver. Mi compañero fue a buscar a alguien que encontró a una trabajadora que estaba sentada en la parte de atrás en su teléfono. Nos dijo que nos sentáramos en una mesa que estaba sucia, probé otra mesa otra vez sucia. Le dijo a otra persona que apareció de alguna parte sobre las mesas. No hice nada con las mesas. Así que me senté en otra mesa medio decente. Esperé otros 6 minutos y nadie vino, así que salimos. Absolutamente destripado como estaba súper emocionado, pero el servicio al cliente fue impactante.

Nice beers selection. Food was tasty (though we went simple, so can't say more. The snacks are great, especially the bitterballen).

Terrible experience. We arrived at the restaurant, finding it empty aside from maybe four patrons and two waiter staff. My family and I asked for a table and the wait staff yelled something at each other before telling us the restaurant was fully booked. A quick search on their booking portal told us this wasn't true, in fact there were no booking slots unavailable. I feel bad leaving a review without tasting the food but unfortunately the staff didn't feel like serving my family. We wanted to try the restaurant because of the overall good reviews, but having read through some of them, I see I am not the only one who's had this experience.

Restaurant Review I recently visited this restaurant with my family, drawn by the promise of excellent food, which I must say truly lived up to expectations. The dishes were delicious, and it’s clear the chefs put a lot of care and skill into their work. Hats off to them for creating such a memorable culinary experience! However, the overall experience was unfortunately marred by the service. We made a reservation for 9:00 PM, but just ten minutes after we arrived, we were told by the waiter that we needed to order immediately as the kitchen was closing. This was surprising, as we had reserved well in advance and received no prior notice of the kitchen’s early closing. It left us feeling rushed and questioning the purpose of our reservation time. The service also lacked a touch of professionalism. Our waiter brought cutlery to our table but placed it in the middle without distributing it, unlike the attention given to other tables nearby. Furthermore, when a small accident occurred and water was spilled on me, the waiter simply smiled without an apology, which felt dismissive and unprofessional. While the food is truly excellent and worth coming back for, the inconsistency in service creates an unfortunate imbalance. I would recommend the restaurant to those who value great cuisine, but I hope the management considers improvements in staff training to better reflect the quality of the kitchen.

The bagels are excellent, with a very nice decoration, nothing to say in terms of value for money, I highly recommend!

The appetizer was great, the crab cakes & ribs were super tasty. Main course, took the sharing menu but the brisket was dry and burnt, which is a shame because the taste was good, the rest of the meat was tasty. Unfortunately it was cold there and the toilet was broken.

Food is good, waiters are bad. There are 2-3 waiters and it is not enought to serve whole reataurant, especially at the evening it is full. We had from beginning to the end glasses on our table, nobody took those empty glasses. Also in the toilets there wasnt any soap and noboy filled them. Good place with not so good stuff and service.

Beautiful restaurant, great layout, friendly staff and even better food. And great portions so bit of advice, make sure you skip lunch. And an amazing selection of beers. The bootje burr was my favourite.

We had the brisket and the brisket burger. The brisket had very large chunks of fat in it. The chicken wings were soft and gooey - not crispy.

Bad experience, lack of professionalism, we booked before going to this restaurant for dinner, we advised what exact time we would arrive, but once we entered, they first made us sit and then told us that the kitchen was closed and not we could order. A total disappointment

Stopped her for dinner tonight, WOW best food by far.... onion rings to start were light and tasty , I had the ribs with sweet potato fries which melted in the mouth, hubby had the smoked brisket which was so tender and flavoursome. Best choice of beer -wine I found in Amsterdam topped off by a lovely espresso marttini. Service was really good, highly recommend.

Nicely decorated, we sat on the lovely terrace. Food and drinks were delicious and prices were okay. Good selection of traditional beers - as a woman I can recommend the Amstel Risé (light beer). Nachos were also delicious. Only the service is too slow, we sat for 15 minutes until the order was taken.

Good burgers, nice service. Good shop with good price-performance ratio. There are 2 bitter alleles with mustard for a good rating. We were full even without this offer and were actually very satisfied.

Food is okay, truly nothing special. However, the service was horrible. Wrong items brought out twice and our waiter (bearded, small round guy) was immensely rude. Berated his coworker in front of us and was visibly annoyed because we mentioned they brought us the wrong food item twice. Treated us badly the rest of the night. An original baggel proposition, the taste, the quality products, everything is there. The terrace setting with a superb view, the interior with superb decor! The service was top notch although it took a little time between services and order taking.

Restaurant with a nice setting. The B&B lemonade is very good and refreshing. Red meat is tender and tasty. Price: 20-30 euros/dish I recommend!

Former favorite l'Opera, is now Beers & Barrels. Excellent and friendly service, coffee and a steak that was perfect. So GREAT

Great for indoor seating and still a good view from the corner of Rembrandt sq. Esp. on a rainy day like it was the day we were there.

Excellent food, good location. Service was okay, it took a while but that is to be expected given the crowds and location. Prices very high. It is and remains a bit of a tourist trap. Great for a drink and a drink, for dinner there are better places around the corner.

A very good Belgian beer selection and menu to go with it. In addition they have beers that are home to the Netherlands and also America, though I wouldn’t have an American beer in Europe. A great spot for a last dinner before flying back home!

Terrible service which is a shame for some good beers. So many empty tables and still we had to get the wait staff's attention to ask for some drinks. When our food finally arrived I had to go get my own serviettes. Unfortunately the service outweighs the beer selection so it's a poor review from me...

Lovely location. Very nice and relaxed vibe during the day and a bit more vibey by nightfall. Service was good, if a little slow. The menus were very sticky, but those was right after the pride festival the night before. The drinks and snacks were very good though. I would go again.

Had a delicious meal on the terrace last Saturday. Meat and chicken were very good, service was great and you could people watch all the time. My husband only missed some music.

The food was wonderful. I ate the best SWEET POTATOES of my life. The portion size on the menu was too large, as even with two people, we could hardly finish it. Service could have been better. But overall good experience. I recommend this place especially if you prioritize the taste of the food over the service :)

Sat down, read the menu, sat there for at least 15 minutes... noone came to greet us nor ask us if we wanted to order anything. (Staff was too busy chatting amongst themselves behind us) We left, went across the street to the Old Bell sat down and were immediately greeted and asked if we'd like anything... do better!!!

After waiting 54 minutes for the food to arrive, with barely any customers, the whole experience was lost. Though the steak tasted good, it was served cold along with the vegetables. No idea how that even could happen.

We made a reservation to watch the UEFA match yesterday because the last time we wanted to go there, they required a reservation. However, the restaurant apparently does not respect its customers and turns them down in either case. Additionally, the waiter made us wait for quite a while instead of suggesting a decent place for us to watch the match.

Was here during the football match Turkey-Netherlands and the atmosphere was top notch, especially because the Netherlands won. Ordered a snack menu with onion rings etc, but got nachos and spearribs snack menu. It was also good, but a little minus because the order was wrong.

Dropped in for a beer while visiting the area. Cool scene but was lacking some atmosphere. Needed some music or something. Either way was a good visit and will probably go back.

We were here on a Tuesday, for a theater visit. What stood out was the background music (not too loud, we have experienced that differently at B&B) and the fact that you hear all the tables around you but do not unintentionally follow their conversations. So we sat comfortably in our own little cocoon enjoying an excellent platter for two. Also worth mentioning: very friendly staff

I'm in Amsterdam on business for one night. I came to the pictures-of-food hellscape or rembrantplain for an easy meal. The b&b steak I had was actually remarkable in a good way. Loads of nice veg, lovely steak with an amazing topping and good fries. I don't generally write reviews, this was good enough to get me typing. If you are looking in the area, go here.

This used to be called l'Opera, it was a nice place. Now it is very noisy, shouting English people, perhaps the name says it all. Service is excellent, very nice, spare ribs super greasy, the sauces were sprayed over them. It made me feel sick. Such a shame because the meat was soft and fine. I got a coffee for free to make up for it. Seems to be the concept, well a waste of the flesh....

The terrace seats are covered with transparent glass, so it's warm even in winter. All of the store staff were kind and served customers with a smile. The price is normal around here.
