Super delicious and surprisingly good food. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

The service was really wonderful and the place was buzzing but the food we ordered was unfortunately not worth the price. The kholrabi sounded great from the menu but was a let down. Steak, while tasty, was very chewy, cheese selection was very ordinary and none of it felt like it was worth the price. Perhaps we came at the time when the menu wasn’t as good as other times as I’ve seen others talk about things that do really sound great, but unfortunately for us this was a complete miss. This isn’t a reflection on the wonderful staff that hosted, they were great!

Food was really nice but the service was average, felt like they wanted us out as quickly as possible. Would have loved to know more about the dishes or feel more welcomed.

Do not recommend eating here if you are gluten free- very few choices, no gluten free bread or alternatives. The waiter was rude and unhelpful when I asked for gluten free alternatives.

Really great spot! The staff at Dinette were super nice and friendly, and the dishes were all very good. The meat was especially good. Worth a visit for a cosy dinner.

This was such a humble experience in Amsterdam. You don’t get such a great service nowadays and I highly appreciate it. I would go again just to have this lovely lady as our waitress. The food was also incredibly delicious for what we ordered. We care around 4PM and we still managed to get the lunch menu, but I want to go back for dinner as well

It's been a long time since I've found a place where the quality was so good and the price was relatively reasonable. Enjoyed it from start to finish. The welcome, the atmosphere, the soft, good music in the background, the service was top-notch, the interior design was fantastic, but the food was truly surprisingly good! I live around the corner and cycle and walk past it daily, but I always forget to go, and now I finally did. And I will definitely pop in here more often. For a long meal, for a coffee, a glass of wine, or a small snack. I'm incredibly happy with our "new" neighbors in the Jordaan. We had delicious Creuse oysters, the steak tartare, a Korean fried chicken sandwich, and chocolate mousse for dessert. Everything was fantastic! I won't even mention a single point of criticism because it's not worth it. Highly recommended. Keep it up, everyone!

Would be much better if they did not allow people with the Polaroid cameras to come inside the restaurants to offer their “service”. Totally destroying the atmosphere of the place.

Friendly restaurant with simple, well-prepared cuisine!

Flavourful food & exceptional service! We hadn’t planned ahead and didn’t have a reservation but decided to stop by dinette on a busy Friday night. As expected, there were no tables available so the waiter kindly told us so. But just as we were leaving, a table outside opened up and this sweet waiter called us back. He was attentive, fun, and genuinely caring throughout the evening. The food was excellent : my husband had a burger, and I went for the poultry dish, which was delicious! Super grateful for the warmth and energy of our waiter. He really made the whole experience special! Def recommend dinette 🫶🏻

We had a fantastic experience at Dinette! The location is beautiful in the most beautiful part of Amsterdam, and our table by the window offered a wonderful view of the vibrant street life of the Jordaan. The welcome was fantastic, with a good suggestion for a non-alcoholic aperitif and a delicious amuse-bouche. The main course and starter were both surprising and delicious. Dinette, thank you for a wonderful evening; we'll be back soon.

A lovely restaurant with excellent food and service.

Simple menu with small twists that guarantees flavor and happy tummies. We absolutely loved steak tartare, bread and butter, brioche with cecina de leon, oyster, hamburger and margarita. Steak frites - it was bit chewy and frites were so small-cut, felt like they were leftovers. Service was very kind and accommodating. The atmosphere could be better with slightly more comfortable chairs and lighting but I guess they don’t expect us to stay long. So it’s a place to get cozy delicious dinner but not necessarily long dates where you enjoy the moment.

One of the best places to drink wine and eat food in Amsterdam - a great selection of (natural) wines by glass and bottle and a small but punchy food menu. EDIT: this review was for the previous place here, which now has a different name but has seemingly kept the old reviews? Hopefully means that the same competent people are running the rebrand, but hard to say.

This was easily one of the most memorable meals from our trip to Amsterdam. We chanced upon this charming restaurant while looking for lunch after visiting the Anne Frank House, and what a fortunate discovery it was. Everything about our experience was exceptional, from our wonderfully professional and engaging server to the lovely outdoor seating. My Moules à la crème were divine—perfectly cooked and served in a rich, flavorful sauce. The highest praise, however, came from my 10-year-old daughter, who declared her Hamburger Royale "one of the best burgers I've ever had in my life"—a massive compliment from a young connoisseur who has sampled them across Europe and the US! Thank you for a wonderful experience. We wholeheartedly recommend this gem and can't wait to return.

Great place for a cozy dinner night. The food was good and the service was great. Our waiter gave us bread on the house because the mains were taking a bit longer than usual. We didn’t even notice that it took longer, but it shows that they are attentive and they care about their customers.

Tonight, six of us dined at Dinette. We had a table upstairs, but unexpectedly, a very large group of people arrived there, making it very noisy. They were having a great time, but unfortunately, we couldn't hear each other. After discussing the situation, they created a table for us downstairs, and we were given a bottle of cava as compensation because they weren't too happy with the situation themselves. What excellent service! So incredibly kind! They were very helpful with options for a pregnant woman, and we all had a delicious meal! It's a very welcoming restaurant with excellent service and a personal touch. There's a lovely atmosphere, so definitely go there!

Plates to share. Loved the burger. Didn’t like the “vegetables”, it was just a salad. Nice terrace in Jordaan with a vibe for some drinks.

The food was very good and reasonably priced. However we felt for the staff. They were very under staffed, it took just shy of an hour to get a drink after we were seated, the starter arrived before a drink. They needed an extra person on the floor and the bar. Upstairs was also VERY hot. Overall good experience, the staff were nice but not enough of them.

A real asset to the Jordaan! Great vibe, top service and not eaten so delicious in a long time. Shrimp cocktail and asparagus absolutely recommended.

Excellent food by the Riding Chef, Cas. Well deserved 5 star rating. The dishes are rather simple, but as part of the concept and truest delicious. Also a first for me, they had chicken soup on the menu. Again, delicious.

Cozy spot with tasty dishes. We shared a couple of starters and I had the steak frites with seasonal vegetables on the side which were all cooked very well and the flavor was really good. Service was attentive which is nice to experience. 3 euros per person were charged for “water service” (tap water) which I found a bit disappointing. Other than that, great experience.

Deliciously tasty food and the service was on point. You don't see much in Amsterdam anymore. These are colleagues who have sometimes worked together for 10 years. You can tell. Clear menu so no stress about choosing. Couldn't eat everything but I'm sure it's all delicious. Absolute recommendation. And as a bonus, also in a cozy location.

We celebrated our 4th anniversary at Dinette last Sunday and had an amazing experience! The cozy, beautiful atmosphere instantly reminded us of Paris. We tried the vegetarian options, and our favorite was the shrimp cocktail. The lobster and narrow bone pie were absolutely delicious! Dinette offers the perfect mix of creativity and flavor, making it ideal for everything from afterwork meals with friends to romantic dates or special celebrations with family and colleagues. Highly recommended for any occasion!

A warm welcome and very tasty food

Had a great dinner with attentive service on a quiet Sunday evening. A perfect spot that somehow scratches an itch you maybe didn’t even know you had. Overall, good vibes and even better price-quality ratio with food and drinks that are familiar, but well-executed and refreshing in a crowd of restaurants that are doing the same thing in Amsterdam. Will be back soon.

Had dinner here last night with my friend and everything was great. We started with oysters (so tasty!), then bread with butter, pulpo skewer and steak with fries. Everything tasted great and perfectly prepared. Super nice atmosphere too, just a very successful evening. I'll definitely be back.

I have had the pleasure of eating with this chef many times. Again fantastic. The waiting staff also ran wild. Wonderful evening, pampered!

First weekend we went straight to have a look and what a great place!

Visited Dinette last weekend, this new place offers a various menu. We decided to order multiple dishes and share them with the table - one dish really stood out, the lamb with bone marrow! Instead of ordering a bottle of wine we decided to try out the cocktails - margarita's we kept on ordering those For dessert - order the sticky toffee! Will visit Dinette soon again with friends - very chill vibes and in summertime they have a nice (partially covered) terrace.

Really nice Cafe in the Jordaan. I shared two starters, two mains and two desserts with a friend. Portions where good and also the recommended wine was great. Also a great spot for just a drink/ cocktails with some snacks.

Great new addition to Jordaan restaurant scene. Super friendly staff great wine selection. There was something for everyone. The veal and artichoke dish was outstanding and it is hands currently the best Mac & Cheese I have had in Amsterdam.

Walked past Cafe Dinette this weekend who happened to be busy with their opening at that moment. Super nice new place with good service, tasty cocktails and a nice snack menu. I'll be back soon!

Had cocktails with some colleagues at the bar and at the facade. Also enjoyed the extensive snack menu. Very good price/quality ratio. Immediately made a reservation for dinner, this tastes like more! PS Banger of an Irish coffee.

Extremely disappointed with the level of service at Bar Pif. I walked in and waited almost 5 minutes without being greeted and then sat down at one of the many open tables. I was greeted and served water after I seated myself. The server was an extremely rude and arrogant young lady. When I asked her about the type of cheese in the dish, she spoke down to me and said it was Swiss and did not go into what type of cheese it was until I told her that I’m familiar with Swiss cheese as I have a home there. I told the server that I do not eat pork and was looking for other meat options, she told me that they only had 1 meat dish that was pork and if I was familiar with fine dining restaurant. She then told me an American restaurant was down the street that served burgers. Other than the service, the bathroom door has a large metal piece that is loose and cut my friends leg. I would not recommend eating here as Amsterdam has ample of fine dining establishments with much better customer service. We paid for our bread and left, as I would not support a business with this level of service. Update- yes, this is the correct restaurant. The cheese was from Switzerland and the metal that cut my friend was on the bottom of the door. Also, there’s no excuse for the servers attitude.

Not sure what happened looks like they changed the chef , the onion butter is gone the oysters were very small selected and the chicken wings were not the same. Unfortunately not coming back.

I’ve been to this place 5 or more times and I always leave satisfied! this place has the best service ever! the girls working at the bar really know what they are selling! nice selection of natural wine! I rarely leave reviews, but this place is so good and it makes me sad to see untrue negative reviews! :(

Is this a joke???? 4.6???? This is a horror, not a place. The food is not tasty, the dishes look strange and ugly. They call a warm sandwich pizza; oysters are served with bitter olive oil, which spoils the taste. The Prosecco was first poured out, then warm. The service is lame, the Russian-speaking waitress is rude. We came to see our mother-in-law and were very disappointed. The toilets didn't work and we had to go to a nearby restaurant. I don't recommend it!!!

Slightly on the higher-priced side, only a bit, but the quality of wines and food is great. This is my standard go-to bar in Amsterdam, for drinks and sharing food plates. Staff are equally as wonderful as the food and wine!

Best wine bar with the best food in Amsterdam. The only place i go to for dinner when i come to Amsterdam! Bar Pif gets my taste buds jumping!

The natural wines are fantastic. The food is delicious. Tess and Miko were amazing servers and super nice despite us having a grumpy toddler.

One of the lock doors was continuously open, which allowed a lot of cold to enter every guest who went in/out.

Cool place to take friends in Jordaan, interesting small plates with nicely curated selection of natural wines. Experience Very young and casual environment, while keeping high standards on food quality and service.

It's a great spot for a couple of drinks with a relaxed atmosphere. They've got a nice selection of wines, and the staff is very friendly. Most importantly it is pet-friendly.

Kitchen closes at 22h so beware ! Wine selections were not great and didn’t like the red glass options but the white wines were nice. I liked the Dutch cheese plate and toasted oat biscuit. They ran out of bread so that was just sad.

The place is very nice, the atmosphere is cozy, relaxed and joyful. Staff is kind but there should be more people as you can tell they are very busy and sometimes forgetful. Food is good even tho options are limited, but I appreciated a lot that they have two vegetarian options in the main courses and then two or three in the starters/aperitif part! There is a wide list of wines, I think prices of wine glasses are a bit too pricey but still average in Amsterdam (8-9 euros each). Even tho it was Friday night and online there was no availability until 20:45, at 19:15 we went there and find a table right away! Overall a nice experience! Recommended!

The good: Two dishes were good, two were moderate. Pleasant atmosphere although the tables are too small. The not so good: the 'homemade' bread was stale and the dishes came at such a fast and furious pace that I felt they were trying to get us out of there. The bad: horribly bitter coffee. The servers did not react to our remarks about the bread, the pacing of the service and to the fact that I did not drink my coffee. They should at least have shown that they noticed, even if it didn't make any difference in the bill. Will I be back? Hm, only if I'm in the neghborhood.

Great service, loved the attentiveness of staff (particularly a somelier or just a waiter with a beard and a lovely English accent). The food was good - beef and chicken but the rest lacked some flavors. Also, I’d never pay so much for a basket of bread and butter… should rethink the concept slightly.
