I'm telling you honestly, this is truly the place to be. I've been here twice now, and the service is fantastic. It really feels like one big family. Great music, delicious food, and a super cozy atmosphere. The people who work here clearly go above and beyond. They regularly check in on you, stop by for a chat, and make you feel welcome. This is a place I'd happily return to every month. I'll definitely be coming back much more often!

One of the cool places i have visited in Amsterdam! The atmosphere is unique and nice vibes are there all night long. Definitely recommend if you like a little performance with your dining experience. We got their special plate of sushi including many options, but i would say the food itself was very mid and the taste was not so special. The drinks were amazing on the other hand! The staff are super lovely and nice.

Came here a couple nights ago, the food was good and the atmosphere was cool. The show is something to see, but not worth how much you pay for only 2 shows. The drinks took forever, when we asked the waitress where they were she didnt come back for another 10 min with our drinks. Overall has a lot of potential but the staff was rude and inattentive, it seemed we were their last priority.

I had a great time at this restaurant. The ambiance was beautiful, and the live shows during dinner made the whole experience feel really immersive. Even though it was busy, the servers were kind and did their best—our drinks were a bit slow, but the waiter handled it well. After dinner, the performers invited everyone to dance with them, which was super fun. Overall, I really enjoyed the dinner show!

We celebrated a friend's birthday at Bar Rouge with a group of six. Unfortunately, the evening was disappointing. Despite having made a reservation for 7:00 PM, we had to wait in the pouring rain because the restaurant wasn't open yet. We received a friendly welcome inside, but were given a drafty seat next to a dirty restroom that hadn't been cleaned since the night before. The service left much to be desired. Glasses were missing, drinks took ages to arrive, and the waitstaff was barely attentive. Even though we had informed them in advance that there were vegetarians in the group, the selection was minimal. The food arrived late, was partly cold, and we received less than we ordered. The shows were enjoyable, but the sound was so loud that we couldn't hear each other or the staff. Furthermore, there was no option to order extra food during the shows. When we indicated we wanted to pay after 2.5 hours—and only four pieces of sushi per person—the manager asked why we wanted to leave. Yet, the concept wasn't explained all evening, and we received little attention. Bar Rouge has potential: the concept is unique and the entertainment is strong. But the execution falls short due to understaffing, poor communication, and long wait times. We went home with fries to compensate, but without a satisfied feeling. A shame, because there's potential for something truly great here.

Just received excellent help with my reservation through Bar Rouge's Instagram account. Communication was quick, clear, and very friendly. I'm looking forward to dining here and debunking the mediocre reviews, because so far I've been treated excellently and politely. A promising first impression! 🥰

They're scammers. We bought three tickets for the R&B Brunch through Weeztix. The digital tickets clearly stated that the brunch would take place from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM. However, the tickets they offered turned out to be for the party after the brunch. When we arrived, they couldn't help us because the kitchen was already closed. We were told we would get our money back—as mentioned in other reviews—but after that, it was impossible to contact them. They went unanswered to our emails.

In general everything was fine. But we had a booking till 21:15, and already at 20:30 we received the bill and it felt that we were getting pushed out. For the price we paid it felt a little bit unfriendly.

We had reserved a table at Bar Rouge for 7:00 PM. There's a 10-euro entrance fee for the show. To our surprise, the actual show didn't start until 9:00 PM—just when we had to leave our table, as it was needed for the next round of guests. We ordered the three-course menu, but dessert took a very long time to arrive, arriving around 8:55 PM. Before we could even finish it, the waitress was back at our table with the card reader. All in all, I thought that was rather rude. It's a shame you pay an entrance fee for a show you ultimately don't get to see. The portions are also very small; I went home feeling a bit hungry.

What a disappointment, having to pay an entrance fee for a show. It turned out to be just one Lady Gaga song with one dancer. We booked a table for 7:15 PM, and it was available until 9:15 PM, which was fine, no problem. The next reservation arrived at 9:00 PM, and was then told it would be 8:30 PM. The main course was a small sea bass fillet and a total of six slices of bavette on lettuce, cut on a cutting machine, it seemed. Literally an amuse-bouche. We had to wait fifteen minutes for our first drinks, and we had to ask for the second round ourselves, which took another fifteen minutes. I never write reviews, but holy moly, this was terrible.

The food took a very long time and half our order never arrived. The waiter kept pushing us to leave and taking our food even though we weren’t finished. The portions were very small. The performance was fun but the atmosphere was ruined.

Lost a portable charger there a couple months ago was told to email about it. Never heard back about the email so spent a good couple hundred years there and lost a 100€ charger. Really sucks the service really terrible experience

What a terrible place. Way too expensive, too little food, we had to wait a really long time for our food twice, the music was way too loud, etc. Furthermore, everyone was more focused on themselves (the guests) than engaging in pleasant conversation. The only positive was that we were politely provided with a glass of wine because we had to wait so long twice. You'll never see me there again.

A lovely evening with free champagne on arrival and delicious sushi, edamame, and cheesecake. The shows were cool, but significantly shorter (3-5 minutes) and less frequent (3 shows between 7 and 10 p.m.) than expected. Unfortunately, the evening was soured at the end: We just missed the minimum consumption and, in "go-home" mode, were asked to order cocktails for €30. After some discussion, we were at least allowed to take brownies with us. The ending was unfortunately very unprofessional—a shame, otherwise it would have been great.

I've never experienced such terrible service. Due to a staff error, I paid twice: once in advance through Social Deal and then had to pay again at the restaurant itself. I've had multiple phone calls and emails with both the bar and SUPPER, a company that works with Bar Rouge. I've been chasing my money for months now, and a proper response is constantly being delayed. Deadlines are not being met, and I'm being treated like a fool. It's absolutely disgusting how these people operate and handle their customer aftercare.

Mixed review. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the welcome. However, we came for my boyfriend's birthday and, to our great surprise, nothing was done for the occasion: no songs, no special music. The most disturbing thing was that after dinner, when we had gone to dance like everyone else, our server came to look for us on the dance floor to make us pay the bill and ask us to leave.

What a terrible venue! I booked well in advance to dine with a group for my important birthday. Less than seven days before the date, I received an email saying the venue was closed for a private event. Not even a phone call, and contacting them by phone was impossible. Hotels were booked for the group and now there was no venue... truly outrageous! If you want to celebrate something important, definitely don't book here!!!!

Our visit was very disappointing. The waitstaff was hard to find, and the bottles of wine we ordered twice simply didn't arrive. When wine finally arrived, we weren't given glasses and had to get them ourselves from the bar because there was no staff to be found. The show itself was tacky and barely worth calling a show. Moreover, the restaurant was so loud that it was difficult to converse normally. The sushi was fine, but the €30 "steak" was almost laughably large, more like an appetizer than a main course. We ended up leaving early and ending up at FEBO. The concept may have been fun at one point, but the execution is completely flawed. It's a waste of time or money.

We wanted to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday extravagantly after a rather unpleasant period. We regularly contacted the back office, paid a deposit, and clearly outlined our wishes for a special evening. Because the guests were coming from all over the country, hotels were reserved, a day program was created and paid for, and a photographer was arranged. During our vacation, a week before the agreed-upon date, we received a call informing us that a private event was taking place on the day of our reservation and that it had to be canceled. Disgraceful! We could have moved it to an earlier date, but that wasn't possible because our guests had other things to do. We would, however, have received a free round of cocktails. After years of running our own hospitality business, where we highly valued hospitality, after-sales service, communication, and feedback, we were incredibly surprised that after numerous complaints, requests, and questions, even addressed to owner Joeri Salet (in our network via LinkedIn), there was no response whatsoever. They didn't offer any further assistance (while we felt it would have been very easy to arrange something else on that date at one of the other businesses owned by the owner). In addition, we were spoken to several times by a "hip" woman, as we often see in Amsterdam. Lots of hipness, little quality, and little actual knowledge. A missed opportunity, but worse, a ruined birthday, colleagues in the industry hearing about this story, and a network that will now steer clear of Bar Rouge. And all this while the recent reviews don't lie about the quality of this business. I would be genuinely concerned if my business were getting this bad reviews almost every week. Food for thought. Train your employees better, teach them how to resolve complaints and to what extent, and encourage them to make sure guests leave satisfied, even if they're not completely satisfied. It's a profession, not factory work that anyone can just casually do by offering a customer service response. And yet it could easily have been resolved with a call from a competent, empathetic employee or the owner themselves, offering alternative business, some form of compensation, or simply a sincere apology. This company still has a lot to learn. But if, as an owner, you don't even have the respect to call back or respond to your optional paying guest (who also partially pays your salary and determines the success of your business), that speaks volumes. We recommend the book "Hostmanship." Perhaps it can be of use to you. Thanks for ruining the birthday!

Too long waiting time on everything

Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. The air conditioning was on full blast, so my girlfriend and I couldn't even take off our jackets. It wasn't even warm. Later, it was turned off because my girlfriend complained. The food is also way too expensive for what you get. It's really not worth the money.

The food was top-notch — the sushi was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the lobster taco was out of this world. Every bite was a treat.

I had a reservation at Bar Rouge which they cancelled the morning of (after sending me an Google invite and confirmation an hour earlier) . While they did send an apology, they rerouted us to Supper — an expensive, overhyped venue that couldn’t have been further from what we booked. They didn’t answer my calls or emails at all. I had to call Supper to confirm my reservation. An apology doesn’t fix the fact that we were moved without choice to a place that felt like a tacky dinner-theatre-meets-nightclub mess. The experience felt careless and transactional. Bar Rouge clearly doesn’t value guest experience or proper communication. There are plenty of places in Amsterdam that don’t treat diners like they’re disposable.

We went there with friends and we had the 3-course menu, good and very generous! But what made the difference was the kindness of the waiters and the performances of the evening (singer, dancer, etc.) really a great time!

We had high expectations for Bar Rouge – an exclusive restaurant with entertainment, ideal for a special occasion. Unfortunately, it turned into an unforgettable evening for all the wrong reasons. From the start, the atmosphere was mediocre. The staff seemed disinterested and didn't seem to enjoy their work. Keep in mind that you have to pay almost €10 per person as a deposit. So, for a €150 deposit, we would have at least expected a warm welcome. We had to wait a full 35 minutes for our first drink, and even plain water on the table had to be requested three times. The air conditioning blew so cold that it was uncomfortable to sit in. We asked for it to be turned down a bit, but we ended up wearing sweaters. As for the "show": we saw one pole dancing act (really cool!) and someone singing a song – but that was it. The promised exclusive experience completely failed to materialize. The restaurant emptied out after the pole dancing act. In the end, a friend of ours provided some entertainment at the table, to liven up the evening a bit for the person we wanted to surprise. For the vegetarian, the food was good. The (non-vegetarian) sushi was fine, but that was about it. The Pad Thai was tasteless, and the chicken in it didn't taste good – which I also physically noticed later in the evening. The waitstaff barely paid attention to the table, drinks didn't arrive, and there was simply no sense of hospitality. When the drinks went wrong again and the atmosphere completely vanished, we decided to end dinner early. No dessert, no coffee – just left. A shame, because this should have been a lovely evening. *As compensation, they took a round of drinks off the bill. But of course, that didn't add up to the total. I sincerely hope this was just an exceptionally bad day for the restaurant. But for us, it was a huge disappointment, and I wouldn't rush back.

Great experience all round. I had a reservation and was immediately seated. The restaurant has a cute dark ambiance. The dj was phenomenal and kept the crowd bumping all night. He even played some Caribbean music which we were so surprised by but thrilled for. The food was pretty good and the red lips dessert was amazing! Their pornstar martini definitely deserves a try. The singer was the highlight for me - she has a great voice and personality for performing. I would definitely return when in Amsterdam again.

Our experience at Bar Rouge was, to be honest, a bit mixed. The first time we made a reservation, it was suddenly cancelled the night before without any explanation, just an email. No phone call, no explanation. We then called to ask what was going on, and were told that not enough tickets had been sold for the evening to go ahead. This is understandable, of course, but it would have been nice if they had also informed us personally. Fortunately, the second attempt went better; this time, we were finally called on the day of the event to confirm if we would still be coming. Of course, I said yes, as I had been looking forward to it for a while. The food was delicious and looked beautiful. Truly the highlight of the evening. Unfortunately, our order wasn't properly checked. We received the wrong food twice, which was unnecessarily confusing. We had ordered a four-course meal, but everything was served at once. As a result, we were suddenly completely full, without the opportunity to enjoy each dish as intended. Then the show: it was billed as a kind of Magic Mike experience. That sounded exciting, but in reality, it was quite disappointing. The first act was impressive, but the second was exactly the same. Little variation, in other words. The third "show" was fun, but also very short. Overall, it felt more like a dance performance than a seductive show. The website says: "Are you ready for temptation?" Well, we could easily handle that. Another drawback was the lighting. It was so dark that we had to use our phone's light to even see what was on our plates. That does detract from the atmosphere a bit, especially if you want to visually enjoy beautifully presented food. All in all: the evening turned out quite well, mainly thanks to the food. But the organization and the show experience at Bar Rouge unfortunately leave a lot of room for improvement.

Our evening started on a high note with the Porn Star Martini cocktail—absolutely fantastic. We enjoyed five of them before switching to Prosecco. However, things quickly took a turn for the worse. Our starters and mains arrived together, which was completely baffling—why bother ordering a starter if it's going to be served alongside a steak and rice? The beef was so tough it was nearly inedible, and my partner’s fish was cold. For this underwhelming meal, we paid £198 for two people. To make matters worse, I received two calls from an unknown number chasing a payment I had already made, leaving a voicemail requesting I return to settle the bill. Not only that, but they followed up with an email claiming I had “accidentally walked away without paying.” After I responded, confirming the payment was made, they sent another email blaming their system failure. While the atmosphere was great, the experience was far from it. The overpriced food, chaotic service, and the shocking £9 non-refundable entry fee make this place a complete letdown. I will never return, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

We were taken from our dining table and referred to the bar because our table was supposed to be reserved, but the table remained empty.. When you receive the confirmation of your reservation in your email, it says in small letters that your minimum amount is €50 for a reservation, if not, you will still be charged. They should have described this more clearly on the website. I expected better entertainment, no drag queens as I had hoped for. Food was tasty. Nice DJ music

Disappointing evening, food and cocktails very overpriced, bad singer, the content on social media does not correspond to reality. Nice guys at the counter, but you always have to ask for attention if you want to order something. Not recommended unfortunately.

Unfortunately, of all the content that can be found online about the theme evening, this does not match the expectations you get. In reality, it's a pretty simple dinner out. The food wasn't bad, but not particularly good either. We ate until 8:45 PM and then waited for the first act. It finally came and although this act was worth a 10, it only lasted a minute and a half. Then there was nothing for another 45 minutes, after which there was another act of about 2 minutes. I came specifically for the theme evening, but in my experience the evening consisted of a maximum of 3 minutes of 'theme'. We also left after the second act, because we didn't feel like waiting another 45 minutes for 2 minutes of entertainment. If you just want to have a nice meal, this is a great place. But if you come for the show, the entertainment is very short-lived.

Nadat we een uurtje binnen zaten kwam de lieftallige dame vertellen dat ons tijdslot er over 20 minuten op zat. We hadden op dat moment slechts een voorgerecht gehad. Daarna kregen we ons eten, het toetje en de rekening tegelijk. Eten was oke, niet bijzonder. De 'show' stelt niks voor. Al met al zeer teleurstellende ervaring. Zo ga je als onderneming niet met klanten om.

We celebrate our anniversary every 15th of the month. Last night I booked ourselves a spot at Bar Rouge and we had an amazing night! Although we’ve had better sushi elsewhere, it’s not bad though and you have to get the big picture: you don’t get that served with the entertainment like you get it here. The staff and entertainment are amazing and the cocktails are sure to get you in a party mood. And finally, the DJ spinned the deck like there was no tomorrow. One fantastic banger mixed into another, weaving all the right old school and new R&B tracks together like a tapestry to complete the red hot atmosphere of the experience that is Bar Rouge.
