Weak coffee and slow but nice service!

Nice brunch place. Friendly staff and good food but the food was a bit slow in coming out. But other than that, everything was great. Once the road work is done outside I imagine it’ll be even nicer. Had the shoestring fries and the BARTACK burrito and it hit the spot. Have been craving a breakfast burrito since moving to NL 1.5 years ago and while it’s not quite the same as a Californian breakfast burrito, it was satisfactory enough.

Had lunch here last Saturday and what struck me was how good and friendly the service was. Since there is often drama in Amsterdam when it comes to service, I would like to mention this. Because it makes a visit so much more pleasant. In addition, my avocado toast was delicious!

A while ago I had lunch at Bar Tack and the experience was unfortunately disappointing. I had called beforehand to ask about gluten-free options, and I was confirmed that they were available. During my visit, I ordered the celeriac burger and specifically asked for it to be served gluten-free. To my disappointment, the burger was initially served on a regular bun, and the staff assured me it was gluten-free. After my comments it was checked and found to indeed not be gluten free. They eventually adjusted it, but I still got sick, suggesting there was gluten in the burger itself, despite previous confirmations that there wasn't. I sent an email to the restaurant to raise this, but unfortunately never received a response. This lack of communication and follow-up makes the experience even more disappointing. Hopefully Bar Tack can improve the service and better deal with customers with dietary restrictions.

Had a lovely experience at Bartack. Such a cute and nice place for brunch or just grabbing a drink. Our waitress Anne also gave us excellent service. Will definitely come back!

I celebrated my birthday here last week, great place for drinks. The staff was very accommodating, special thanks to Isa and Anna for being so helpful and for self sacrificing to bring us drinks outside through the pouring rain.

A lovely afternoon spent at BarTack. We were a group of 20 and the staff were really attentive and efficient. Special thanks to Gyna, Isa and Anna who served us patiently. Highly recomend the cocktails - especially the Paloma!

This place is great! We were made to feel very welcome immediately and had a brilliant breakfast - our host was very attentive and the food was exactly what we were after. It's surprisingly big inside, and beautifully maintained.

I was here for a Breeze date. I came in and they indicated that I could sit anywhere. After this I sat outside but I realized that no one paid attention to where I was sitting to pass this on to my date. Then I got a drink, but later when my date was connected, he was not asked anything. After I only had half a glass, we asked for something to drink for him, but I was not asked if I wanted to order anything. In addition, I did not have the feeling that we were being looked after at all and that I could contact the staff if something went wrong with my date. Bad service and therefore not really a feeling of someone paying attention to you when you are sent there for a date event... I'm glad the date went well. Service could be much better, but a nice location and atmosphere.

This hut can best be described as a faded glory. The staff is anything but helpful and you get the feeling that they actually find it very tiring that you even sit down. The request for tap water is dismissed with a deep sigh and the announcement that a glass must be obtained separately for everyone (group 7). 7 glasses fit perfectly on a tray, but the waitress still felt it necessary to bring in a bottle of spring water. The food is okay, but nothing to write home about. You notice that changing ownership has not done the business any good. Poached eggs have been replaced by a boiled egg, as if you couldn't make that at home. To top it all off, the staff refused to let us pay separately. Downright a mediocre place run by disinterested arrogant jerks, who quietly ignore you and do not understand at all what hospitality means. Unless you're dying of hunger or thirst, I wouldn't go here. They certainly don't deserve tips! A real low point for the Amsterdam catering industry.

What an atmospheric place. Today we enjoyed delicious coffee with vegan banana bread. Nice, friendly service. We are fans of it and will definitely come back!

Lovely staff, good place to sit in the sun and enjoy summer. Bagel with salmon and avocado was delicious.

Delicious lunch, bagel with salmon and avocado and sandwich with tuna salad, fresh orange juice and coffee afterwards. Forgot to take pictures of our food but it was delicious.

Super tasty food here, went with a group and had dishes to share, which was delicious, but could have been a little more.

Away from the busiest areas this bar is cuddling up with the Rembrandtpark. Vibe’s nice and quiet on weekdays. Though busy enough for a great day out.

Had the burrata sandwich here and it was very disappointing. It had little flavor and was not filling.

While the food was decent, the "loaded nachos" at 12,50 was dramatically overpriced for a set of chips dropped from a bag, less than 100g or chicken and (for a nation that loves cheese) barely any cheese. Like I said, it was very tasty and the staff is following their recipe. So not faulting them for executing a bad recipe. The drinks we had were good and the price paid for them made sense. The staff was nice, efficient and friendly. And the atmosphere was very nice. Would come back for the drinks not the food.

Music is very loud, so if you are considering to have a quiet meal that might not be the right place

I have been coming to Bartack for years as a loyal customer. I have always experienced the staff as friendly, which made it less annoying that the service was not always smooth. I was a big supporter, even during the corona period, and regularly brought work relations and friends to this place. Recently, however, I have noticed that the atmosphere, friendliness and service of the current team are not the same as before. This was difficult for me, because I always enjoyed coming to bartack. Due to a breathing problem, I always make sure that I change tables myself when someone starts smoking next to me on the terrace. Recently I decided to ask about the possibility of sharing ideas and who I could direct them to. One of my suggestions was to make a few tables smoke-free. Unfortunately, this question was not well received by Mark, the manager. His response was unexpected and disappointing to me. He asked me to sit around the corner where there was no service and it was closed at that time and therefore not an option. When I spoke to him about this, he asked me to leave and told me to NEVER come back. This felt like a disproportionate reaction. He was sitting on the terrace and had already had a few beers (and cigarettes). Despite this, this should not be an excuse to treat someone so unfriendly. This experience has left me perplexed and disappointed. Especially after years of connecting a few times a week as a loyal customer. As a communications professional, I see a lot of room for improvement in how staff interact with customers and how such situations are handled. I hope that my feedback is seen as a constructive contribution and that something can be done to improve the atmosphere and customer friendliness at Bartack, if this is the intention.

Ik kom al jaren bij Bartack als trouwe klant. Het personeel heb ik altijd als vriendelijk ervaren, wat het minder erg maakte dat de bediening niet altijd even soepel verliep. Ik was een grote supporter, ook tijdens de coronaperiode, en nam regelmatig werkrelaties en vrienden mee naar deze plek.Recentelijk heb ik echter gemerkt dat de sfeer, vriendelijkheid en service bij het huidige team niet hetzelfde zijn als voorheen. Dit viel me zwaar, omdat ik altijd met veel plezier bij bartack kwam.Vanwege een ademhalingsprobleem zorg ik er altijd voor dat ik zelf van tafel wissel wanneer iemand naast mij op het terras begint te roken. Onlangs besloot ik om eens te vragen naar de mogelijkheid om ideeën te delen en aan wie ik die kon richten. Een van mijn suggesties was om een paar tafels rookvrij te maken. Helaas werd deze vraag niet goed ontvangen door Mark, de manager. Zijn reactie was voor mij onverwacht en teleurstellend. Hij verzocht mij om om de hoek te gaan zitten waar niet bediend werd en op dat moment ook gesloten was en dus ook geen mogelijkheid. Toen ik hem hierover aansprak, verzocht hij mij weg te gaan en zei dat ik NOOIT meer terug mocht komen. Dit voelde als een buitenproportionele reactie.Hij zat zelf op het terras en had al een paar biertjes (en sigaretten) op. Ondanks dit mag dit geen excuus zijn om zo onvriendelijk met iemand om te gaan.Deze ervaring heeft me perplex en teleurgesteld achtergelaten. Vooral na jaren als trouwe klant een paar keer per week aan te sluiten. Als communicatieprofessional zie ik veel ruimte voor verbetering in hoe personeel met klanten omgaat en dergelijke situaties worden afgehandeld. Ik hoop dat mijn feedback gezien wordt als een constructieve bijdrage en dat er iets gedaan kan worden om de sfeer en klantvriendelijkheid bij Bartack te verbeteren, indien dit de bedoeling is.

The terras seemed nice at first glance but what a terrible unfriendly personnel, they really have no idea what service is. I am shocked to experience this.. You have to wait for a long time for your food for which I had patient but having the personnel talking back in an aggressive way over a simple question is unbelievable.

Wow what a find - lovely bustling restaurant right on Rembrandtpark in Amsterdam. Delicious local dishes and ideal for a relaxed brunch. Staff helpful and friendly.

Service of nothing! Had to wait a shamefully long time before being asked if we wanted something to drink. Then had to wait another fifteen minutes for 2 drinks. Had to ask 5 times if a cloth could be wiped over the table because the table was covered with food remains from the previous guests. In addition to poor service, it is also expensive. Had to pay €11.50 for two Brand Weizen of 25cl…

Staff just threw a ‚reserved‘ sign on my table and didn’t even let me finish my question when this reservation is scheduled for before walking away

Today we came here just for a drink at 17:15. The place is closing at 18:00 but it wasn't possible for us anymore to have a drink because they closed the final round already. How do you guys do business? What's the idea of this place? What a shame this place is going down. A bit more customer orientated attitude and I would be back. It use to be my favourite place in the area. But with management change the service and ambience quality changes too. They are strongly understaffed and this is going on for about a year. The service is always nice but I can't even remember how many times I had to wait for a service to bring us a menu for more than 20min. Numerous times I was waiting for food close to an hour. And I have already got use to my order will be missed. It feels like a pattern that if I will order something for the second time it won't arrive because it was forgotten.

Friendly service. Unfortunately it closed two hours earlier. But that doesn't matter because it smelled like you were in a bitterballen fryer.

Nice spot in the neighborhood to hang out. Order the local snert soup and it was delicious. Lunch overall was simple but good.

Regular restaurant where we ate a veggie burger for lunch. Nothing special. Fries were very salty and a bit soggy. The Celeriac burger was good, but really not special.

Today 1 sweet Dutch waitress and the English-speaking brunette was unfortunately very sullen, blunt and not at all in the mood to be a careful waitress. I ordered water without sparkling and when she brought it, she started taking other orders with my order😳. I also worked in the catering industry myself, but had never seen anything like this before. Then she skipped me until I called her. Then I got melted ice in a glass with my drink. I asked her to open the bottle and it turned out to be punctured after all. I said I didn't order this. Was her response that the bottle has already been opened?! I then said that she had opened it. Her answer was ; yes to your request. Then I said that I had asked her to drink without a shot. I got such a bad feeling about this that I explained it all to the Dutch waitress and wanted to leave. It seemed like they were understaffed, which spoiled the fun. Then I left on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Dogs were allowed and jumped on me. Unfortunately a chaotic experience! Very unfortunate and not recommended.

Pop up taco restaurant on our first night in Amsterdam. Service and food were great, awesome tacos and fantastic cocktails.

Went there a Sunday 14:07 and ordered a large draft beer and a plate of bitterballen snacks. Got a small beer at 14:30 and the first waiter said that I will get another small one later because of the mistake - 23 min wait for a single beer. I asked for a ashtray. She said she will come back right away. I never got it. 14:40 I got the snacks from a second waiter - 33 min wait. 14:50 asked for the other beer (second waiter) and the ashtray as well. Got the ashtray at 14:53. “Beer is coming” 15:00 I got the small beer from the first waiter. She said it was on the house. 15:07 the second waiter came outside with a beer, looking confused, asked another table if they ordered one- they didn’t. So she offered them the beer for free. 15:17 I paid at the bar. She said it was for two beers and I corrected her so I paid for the snacks and one beer. Also I apparently paid 8,5 for the snack and it said 7,5 on the website menu. Almost one hour for one big draft beer (or two because of the mistake) and a small plate of snacks. No drink while eating. It was not busy and while waiting I saw people who just sat down get their beverages and food before me. The snack was good and a nice place to sit outside. Everything else I cannot recommend.

Bartack is echt top! Ze houden van wat ze doen, dat merk je in alles. Het eten, de sfeer. Wat een prachtig gebouw met breed terras aan de (opkomende) Postjesweg. Net uit het centrum en daarom een heerlijke plek.

Nice place, good food, close to the park.

I like to come mostly for a coffee/ tea/ drink and sit outside as I find the acoustics inside terrible. It's great to watch the people pass by on the street or sit on the benches by the park, though unfortunately self service with the same prices on the benches. I only really go for drinks as the food (including snacks) is very overpriced and spoils the experience: 8,50€ for 5 pieces of bittergarnituur (5 cheese sticks OR 5 bitterballen), and 2,5€ for foamed mild for the baby.

Food is nice, we’ve been visiting for years and menu rarely changes. Staff attention can be quite slow.

2 tosti's en 1 water besteld, na een half uur maar gaan vragen waar de tostis bleven, toen bleek de kaas op te zijn. Personeel werkte hard maar waren met veel te weinig.

Door corona is het alweer een tijdje geleden dat ik bij Bartack was. De kaart is inmiddels volledig veranderd, geen shakshuka’s meer, maar nog genoeg andere opties. Sterker nog: ik voel enorme FOMO. Uiteindelijk kies ik voor the Full Breakfast en dat stelt niet teleur. Alles zo vers en zo smakelijk! Speciale vermelding voor het spek - meesterlijk. Snel eens terug om de andere opties te verkennen

Als je buiten zit is het wat "levendig" maar niet hinderlijk. Supervriendelijke bediening die gewoon goeie tips geeft qua eten. De oesterzwam bitterballen waren echt gruwelijk lekker.

Lekkere koffie en een heerlijk broodje gehaald. Personeel ontzettend vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Kom hier zeker terug!
