A restaurant/coffee shop in a beautiful square. The location is very nice, the food and drinks are average. I can give you a slightly unusual but nice request after a heavy meal, which is ginger tea. It's excellent compared to theirs.

I was here today only for hot chocolate, and when I asked that waiter for the check twice (because I waited a bit time for him to come) In a very rude way and an angry tone he said: ( don’t keep calling me I will come for you) he was very angry and rude.. even if I called many times he should not behave like that. It was my first time here and I faced rude hospitality. The waiter looked like an Asian guy.

We had a wonderful dinner at the atmospheric Majestic. Clean and well-maintained. We received excellent tips from an extremely helpful staff member (I won't mention her name, Romania will do). The chefs were absolutely brilliant this evening: taste, texture, presentation—top notch! My girlfriend had chosen a different dinner, but she was also in culinary delights. And dear reviewers...it's in the heart of Amsterdam, next to the monument, don't complain about the price; it certainly wasn't overly expensive. Mac is nearby; buy a cone of fries or bring your own currant buns, and you'll save money. And we really enjoyed the melting pot of nationalities; excellent (catering) English is spoken. Ethiopia, Israel, Syria, Romania, England, my girlfriend from Uganda and I...from the clay, beautiful, isn't it? Majestic...we were majestically spoiled. We will definitely go back, curious about the continuity of quality and hospitality. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Best location in Dam Square My everything 2 times resting for tea break and dinning

Unfortunately, it was a very bad experience. The service was disappointing, and the staff member was extremely rude. We politely asked to turn off the heater because we were feeling hot, especially since I was with elderly family members, but the worker refused in a disrespectful way and even argued back. The heater was directed only at us and there was no one else around. Very unprofessional behavior — definitely not coming back.

It’s a really nice cafe, not too small but cozy & has a good atmosphere. Their service is good & fast, they got us a table quick even though we were more than 5 people. So far so good. I ordered the ginger tea & they also served honey & the cutest stroopwafel. 😊

horrible service, we were discriminated by server. Our group arrived the restaurant, server said all tables are full. So we waited patiently in the rain until the table is available. People started leaving, tables were getting empty. Server started cleaning tables but never offered us to sit, but welcomed other customers who literally just showed up, and were same number of us, although we waited patiently for a long time.

My husband and I unfortunately had a very disappointing experience at this café. When we asked for a seat, my husband was still holding a piece of churros. Instead of simply helping us normally, an employee rather rudely told him he could finish his meal outside and come back. We waited anyway, but the employee completely ignored us and immediately served the guests who arrived after us. This behavior was disrespectful and made us feel unwelcome. We are very disappointed with this treatment and will not recommend this café. Friendliness and respect towards guests should be a given – unfortunately, the opposite was the case here.

The food was good, the beer even better and Watson our server was the best. I highly recommend this place for an easy meal and a beer.

We got in and waited for a couple minutes, while many servers were free and looking at us, we called them to order but no one came.

Rude employees. It takes an hour to order and another hour to request the bill. You have to jump in order to get their attention. Do not recommend! Also very overpriced.

I had a great time. I had the opportunity to eat snacks, drinks, and meals there on three different days. I always received good service and there was a great atmosphere. I didn't really wait for the snacks (it was in the evening, 5 minutes max...) and there are no reservations at lunch. The salmon and shrimp salad was delicious and the crumble was to die for. I'll do it again 🙂‍↕️😋

Well well mixed feelings the location is good, but unfortunately they are so arrogant! Thinking a tourist is a BURDEN. We visit regurarly from Aruba where we are so friendly and respectful to our tourists.

Their food is frankly delicious. The burgers are delicious. Don't miss them. My second order is Fish and Fries.

This restaurant is located in the heart of Amsterdam at Dam Square offering wonderful indoor and outdoor patio seating. We stopped by for lunch and the place was PACKED! We Sat inside and enjoyed lunch dishes like the chicken Cesar salad, bolognese rigatoni, Indonesian stew, and Gamba featuring huge shrimps and curry! All dishes were flavorful and delicious 😋 To end the meal, their latte hit the spot with the mini waffles 🧇

I’m really surprised the rating is so low. My friends and I were shopping at the nearby mall yesterday and decided to have dinner at this restaurant. The waiter was very pleasant, and everything we ordered was delicious. The atmosphere in the evening was very cozy. We actually came back to the same restaurant again tonight to have some meat, since we all really enjoyed it. The prices might not be cheap, but the portions are large and everything tastes great — in our opinion, it’s well worth the money.

The price is justified for the location and the atmosphere, especially considering the front row seats facing the market square. There's always something to see here!

2 cups of coffee + 2 apple pies, €31.60. It was delicious, and I know it's pretty much the most expensive terrace on Dam Square, but I think we're now paying back the paid-out Corona fees twice over! Or has Mr. Yip really gone off the deep end? You can find an excuse for a price increase anywhere. What a shame!

The cafe in Dam Square is twice as expensive as other cafes. A small latte is 5.60 euros, a large 6.8 euros.

First time in my life that when I order an espresso they ask me to pay for the glass of water that goes with it. What's that!?

We waited an incredibly long time before anyone even came to our table. No welcome, no explanation—just ignored. Even later, the service was uninspired. The prices are above average, which is incomprehensible given the overall experience. For us, the visit was a disappointment.

Sassy attitude from staff when asked for the menu, sorry if I didn’t think for a sec your menu was literally the cheapest piece of paper you can find with super high prices for everything, I’m only chilling and maybe come in to a place for relax. Told I was ready to order and the waiter told me to wait to order and then what do I see? He told none of the coworker to come and take the order instead he was rearranging the coasters at empty tables. Left immediately. Perphaps not so majestic.

I ate here a few times over the past 10 years and it's always been a great meal. I typically go for the steak and their salad with warm goat cheese. It's a nice combination. On my first trip this was actually the only non-fast food injested and is forever memorable to me before hopping on the train to depart the Netherlands. It's one of those places to check off the to do list or to meet up with an acquaintance. A memory spot.

I visited Majestic on a recommendation (thanks Mazen 🤍) and had dinner with a friend! The food at Majestic was outstanding and delicious! The cocktails very good and the location really good! It was chilly that evening and the team were super helpful and moved us to a table with a heater. everyone was very friendly and helpful. It was a really nice and successful evening!

I arrived at this restaurant at 10:00 pm and placed my order but they didn't write it down. I waited 45 minutes and then went to ask and they told me that the waiter hadn't ordered and that what I wanted wasn't available... So I asked for something else and they said they couldn't make it because they were closing. A terrible experience, I won't go back to this place. All 4 employees who greeted me were rude and ignorant, a complete disappointment.

The best and quality place in Amsterdam Dam Square.

Yesterday I was at this place for the second time, and the experience with the staff was very poor. From the moment we approached to ask if there was a table available, we felt rejected by Imanuel—I think that's the guy's name—and then we felt the same way about the person who waited on us at our table.

We had breakfast as family of 6 with 2 kids. We nicely asked one of the waitresses if she could open the canopy because the kids were a bit uncomfortable with the sun coming on them as they were having breakfast and they couldn't see of the reflection of the sun. Not even with a single politeness she refused to do it and again with rudeness she said us to move to another table if we're not happy (not even a single smile we had). But after that, some other people came and sat next to our table, she smiled to them and opened the canopy as soon as they asked for it. Plus, one of the drink orders was an americano and we had it in water glass but other customers had it in a proper coffee cup. Just a little recommendation, as a place based on city centre you should treat all of your customers the same especially with a smile on your face.

Lovely ambience, quick service, polite staff and yummy cappuccino n cheesecake.

I visited this place today around 11:45 PM. There were many people inside, but the person standing at the door simply said, “We are closed.” It was confusing and disappointing, especially since Google clearly states that they close at 1 AM. It didn’t make sense to be turned away while the place was still full and seemingly operating. A little more transparency and consistency would be appreciated.

Overpriced tourist trap. I got the "Majestic" burger and it was anything but that. My girlfriend got the ribs, and they tasted like 100% salt.

This was the 3rd time we’d been in here. The service was good, The chicken stir fry was delicious as always. You can sit and look out onto Dam Square. I will definitely be back if I’m in Amsterdam again.

I have been here a few times during my visit but this time I had a terrible experience. When we got to the front asking for a table, a waiter was going to take us in and he stopped to talk to another waiter leaving us waiting for him to show us the table. Another waitress sat us and it was a good 10mins while we waited for someone to take our order and we ended up leaving. The same waiter so us leave and asked where we were going, and in politely told him that the service was appalling.

Everything was great, the employees were smiling. Everything came on time. It should definitely be preferred.

Big scam! Bad coffee, super expensive for no reason. They did not serve tap water at the table, we could not pay separately, they brought us the coffee in a water glass! Just a joke! Would not visit again.

Unacceptable experience. The coffee was extremely overpriced and served in a water glass, hot americano!!!!!, not exactly what you'd expect for the price. We asked for tap water and were told they don't serve it at the tables. Instead, we were told to go to the bar, where they offered only one glass and said they couldn't provide more because they sell bottled water for €5. In a country like the Netherlands, where tap water is clean and safe to drink, it's disappointing and frankly ridiculous not to offer it to customers. Would not recommend and definitely won’t be coming back.

Place is a total tourist trap! Besides the overpriced items on the menu and bad quality of ingredients the service is unbelievably bad because of house rules not because of staff! They don't give you tap water on the tables because they only sell it in bottles, they don't allow you to pay by person and only by the table and the explanation of the menu is non existent, they don't ask for anything other than what you say to them, totally like robots and without any care for the customer. I hope it gets better in the future but as long as it stays a cash grabbing business it will always be as bad as it is… Also this picture was from an Americano served in glass for water… nevermind the bad quality of coffee when our drinks arrived we asked a couple on the next table what they were drinking and they had Americano coffee in cups… they just didn't bother washing them…

Fue una gran experiencia desde la recepción de la puerta principal hasta el final, el Sr. Yuri siempre estaban alrededor con sus ojos de águila, rastreando todas las necesidades de los clientes. Realmente aprecio la forma en que cuida el servicio, y tuve la suerte de conocerlo, ya que hace que mi experiencia sea realmente mejor que cualquier otra cosa en Amsterdam.
