Unfortunately, I can't understand the negative reviews. De Jongens, with its new outdoor seating, is a great place to relax. The view of the sea is priceless. The service for food and drinks hasn't changed in all the years we've been going to Egmond. Perhaps you should be aware in advance that the Netherlands isn't cheap. The fact that you sometimes have to wait 45 minutes at peak times doesn't matter to me when you have a view of the sea. After all, I'm on vacation to relax and unwind, not to escape. I'm happy to pay the 1 euro for the restroom, as it's very clean and cleaned frequently. For us, the Dutch remain some of the friendliest, most uncomplicated, and most trustworthy people ever. This whining at a high level, of course, comes from Germany again.

The service and food were very good. We also rented beach chairs. Unfortunately, they were somewhat inflexible when it came to booking for multiple days.

The terrace is fantastic, especially the soft chairs make for a lovely break from the beach and a refreshing meal. The "fresh" lemonade is syrup with tap water, which isn't great, but otherwise we were very satisfied and would come back. Contrary to some comments, the food came very quickly, even though it was very busy.

If you have time, you can stop by here; if you want something quicker, you'll want to look elsewhere. The wait for fries and croquettes was a good 30 minutes, even though it wasn't busy.

Prices to high and the food an absolute disappointment. Maybe okay if just fingerfood and drinks, bc the location is nice.

Not recommended, as the wait time was extremely long (30 minutes for a French fry) even though it wasn't very busy. This wasn't an isolated incident, as all the guests had to wait that long. The staff was friendly, but they could do a lot better.

I thought I'd grab some lunch. First, I ordered a drink and then a quick croquette sandwich. The menu wasn't exactly extensive. I hadn't even brought the drinks yet when I was at the table, and suddenly a sign saying "kitchen closed" appeared in front of me, and that at 3:30 PM on a Sunday afternoon. You can only pay by card, NO CASH. The service is like a couple of toddlers; sorry, it's not table service, but self-service. In short, we will NEVER be back. Signed, the German/Dutch corporation.

There is self-service here. The smoothie was fine but expensive for the size of the glass. I found the hot spicy chicken sandwich horrible. There was some chicken on it but what was on it tasted like nothing. I will not be coming back here

BBQ with group. Delicious food. More than enough. Terrace and indoor restaurant tastefully decorated. Indeed, get your own drinks, but that also has its advantages. Friendly staff. Recommended.

We arrived at three o'clock during the May holidays to have a drink. That took some effort, because she actually wanted to close. Incomprehensible in my eyes on such a sunny day! Five minutes later a lot of people came walking down for nothing: they left without having accomplished anything.....

We had an Aperol Spirtz, unfortunately more water than anything else! Snack-like and rather unfriendly at the beginning of the season. The food (sandwich) was disappointing/dry. The view is of course great.

Previously a cozy beach bar – unfortunately disappointing today! Two years ago this was a charming and cozy beach bar with extremely friendly service. Today, unfortunately, it is more reminiscent of a simple snack bar: long waiting times for the food and an Aperol Spritz, which was very disappointing in terms of taste. It's a shame about the once-so-beautiful atmosphere!

Nice view right on the beach. Toilets clean. We didn't eat anything, just had a cool drink, so we couldn't go wrong. Lots of free places.

Ordered a sandwich and received a chunk of chalk that fell apart. If you have complaints about the food, you don't have to bother reporting this because you will get the answer "that's how we do that" from the gentleman without any customer friendliness.

Toasti was extremely dry and fell apart as soon as I took a bite. Poffertjes were super tough and when I politely asked if they had accidentally made gluten-free poffertjes because I just couldn't get it down my throat, I was confronted by two inexperienced employees without any knowledge about cooking or service. Good luck if you end up here.

Right on the beach, very attractively furnished, lots of niches and therefore good wind protection if necessary. The staff was very friendly and helpful, we would love to come back 😊

We took a short break on our beach day in Egmond an Zee and - as we like to do in the Netherlands - treated ourselves to a nice Chocomel. Of course, the location right on the beach can't be beat. The prices for food and drinks are quite good for the location; I've seen much worse beach stalls. We didn't sit inside or on the terrace, but in lounge chairs in front of a closed bar(?). There will probably be no service up to this point, so we'll go in to order.

Price for 1 glass of rose 0.1 l. 4.60 euros self-service. 1 beach restaurant further on I get 0.25 liters of rose for 5.50 euros. Also self-service. The portion of bitterballen was like everywhere else, but the scampi mentioned on the menu was missing.

Nice place, great map. But a very lazy concept. Self-service is fine, but having the kitchen closed at weekends with a full terrace is a bit of a shame

Service not at the table Average prices but considering that there is no service they are high. Diluted coffee that tastes like nothing In the breakfast package it says "smoothie" but you can't choose which one... only the vegetable one which among other things are chopped vegetables in water...

Tolles Restaurant, ausgezeichneten Fisch des "Tages" gegessen. Die Küche bietet sehr hohes Niveau. Wir waren restlos begeistert. Auch der Preis geht in Ordnung. Außerdem wurden wir sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich von der Chefin bedient. Nach der Verabschiedung wurden wir zur Tür begleitet.Da passt einfach alles. Die teilweise negativen Bewertungen finde ich völlig daneben. Es kommt immer auf das eigene persönliche Verhalten an. Hunde im gehobenen Restaurant zu dulden geht absolut nicht, dafür ist die windgeschützte Terrasse da!

Super nette Leute hier, das Essen Top,

Wir waren an einem warmen Tag das 1. Mal im Außenbereich in dieser Strandbar. Hier war unser Hund auch noch willkommen oder evtl. auch nur geduldet. Als wir einige Tage, bei schlechtem Wetter, nochmals diese Bar mit Hund aufsuchen wollten, wurde uns der Zutritt zum Innenbereich verwehrt. Hunde sind dort nicht erwünscht! Man wollte uns aber einen Tisch abwischen und uns mit einem Tisch auf der Terrasse abspeisen. Im Egmond gibt es sicherlich Restaurants, die durchaus gehobener sind und Hunde trotzdem willkommen sind. Hundebesitzern würde ich diese Strandbar ganz klar NICHT empfehlen.

Heerlijk gegeten voor een redelijke prijs,

Erg armoedige plek. We zaten en bij het zien van de omgeving en kaart weer opgestaan. Mosselen warem zelfs 32 euro. Nou die hebben we ergens anders gegeten.

Altijd goed toeven bij het Zeepaartje voor een dagje strand (ligstoelen te huur) en een lekker hapje en drankje.

Best leuk om te zitten en wat te drinken. 1 euro voor toilet. Beetje gek dat het restaurant en terras 2 dagen dicht is door de week met deze warme dagen.

Niet de moeite waard,personeel niet netjes tegen klanten en eten zeer onder de maat. Wij komen hier nooit meer terug.

Deze tent moet nog heel veel leren qua horeca! Geen aanrader!

Vreselijk. Serveerster wel 10x langs ons tafeltje gelopen, nooit aangesproken wat wij wilden. Na 15 min maar weer weggegaan naar ander restaurant in centrum. Daar snel geholpen en lekker gegeten. Zeepaardje heeft het zeker te goed?

Vanmiddag even erop uit, kwamen bij deze strandtent terecht. Zag er op her eerste gezicht prima uit! Mijn man en ik bestelde beide een broodje. Ik de vegetarische kroket op bruin brood en mijn man de kip sandwich. We bestelde ook wat te drinken en ook voor onze kinderen en voor beide friet met een frikandel. Mijn man kreeg zijn broodje en dit zag er meteen al niet heel lekker uit vond hij maargoed hij probeerde het..de smaak was niet zoals gehoopt en ik zag aan hem dat het niet lekker was. Heb ook geproefd en inderdaad. Dus we deden iets wat we nog nooit eerder hadden gedaan. We melde dit bij de serveerster. De kok werd erbij gehaald en dit was nog nooit eerder gebeurd er kwamen zelf mensen terug voor dit broodje..super fijn natuurlijk maar daar hebben wij niks aan! We moesten het betalen en er werd verder niks gedaan geen oplossing niks. We waren perplex en eerlijk gezegd vinden we dit schandalig!

Erg leuke strandtent/restaurant met goede en vriendelijke bediening en lekker eten. Lekkere carpaccio en goede hamburger! Aanrader!

Always a pleasure to come in the hot days to the beach. The restaurant offers beach beds and umbrellas, also wood beach chairs. Close to the center and the light house.

Man sitzt schön windgeschützt und hat einen wunderbaren Blick auf die Zee. Leckere Snacks und Getränke...

Heerlijke tarbotine gegeten met lekker veel groenten. Aanrader.

Zijn niet super vriendelijk. Alsje naar toilet wil zitten ze er meteen, onvriendelijk boven op, dat je of betaald, of een consumptie neemt. Ook rekening splitten doen ze niet aan.

Erg goed eten en beetje goede service. Tafeltjes voor 2 staan naar ons idee iets te dicht bij elkaar. Hoogwaardig eten voor een strandrestaurant.

Wat hebben wij lekker gegeten bij Beachrestaurant Zeepaardje in Egmond aan Zee. De saté was prima en de kalfsentrecote was echt subliem en mals. Het personeel was zeer prettig, vriendelijk, deed goede suggesties en toonde interesse. En de prijs: Die was voor deze tijd alleszins redelijk en betaalbaar voor de kwaliteit die er geleverd werd. En voor de eigenaar; met de groeten van degene die vroeg om een nagelvijltje voor de vork.

Lekker hier een drankje gedaan, vriendelijk personeel, aan zee dus.... altijd goed.

Het is een best luxe plek! Er zijn verschillende luxe gerechten! Zee paardje bieden ook Verschillende soorten dranken! De sfeer is perfect!

Wenn man zwei Gerichte bestellt, muss man sich eine kleine Pommes teilen. :(

Uitzicht super ... Vakantie in Egmond aan Zee het eerste wat wij doen is naar de strandtent het Zeepaardje biertje doen € 3:70 een bittergarnituur, nacho s wat shets mijn verbazing dat serveren ze niet meer 😖 voor ons is dit de laatste keer want dat hoort bij ons biertje.

Wir haben sehr gut gegessen und gut gezapftes Bier getrunken.

Wir haben bei mäßigem Regen hier Platz genommen und eine Kleinigkeit gegessen und getrunken: 2 mal Fritten mit Frikandell, 2 Kaffee und 1 Frisdrank. Das kostete mal eben 29€. Dass man dann trotzdem als Gast noch 1€ pro Person für die Toilette zahlen muss, ist einfach nur abgezockt. 3 Sterne für die Aussicht (auf die Baustelle am Strand) und die guten Fritten.

Super Bedienung und schöne Aussicht

Eten, bediening, sfeer, alles dik in orde en al jaren constante hoge kwaliteit. Helaas sluit de tent voor het winterseizoen. Tot 1 oktober kun je nog terecht!

Onvriendelijke bediening wij zijn snel weer weg gegaan met 10 personen, ze hebben het te goed! Geen aanrader zien ons nooit weer!
