For me my favourite and best bar in Amsterdam, run by friendly knowledgeable people with a good story to tell , it’s like stepping back in time away from the madness in the surrounding streets .. a 10/10 place for me

The staff here were really friendly and helpful. I’m not an expert when it comes to beer, but they took the time to explain the options and helped me pick something I actually enjoyed. Ended up having two really good beers. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it a great spot to just relax. They also have a huge selection of beers, so there’s definitely something for everyone. If you’re craving a good beer and want to hang out in a comfortable place, this is a solid choice.

Great! Large selection of absolute craft beer masterpieces. I've tried beers here that I had not had before. If you like carefully selected cider, this place is also for you! Decor a bit raw, but it makes the place even more extraordinary. Great time! Lots of local lads, some local footbal fans which is a plus. Will definitely come back!

If you like vintage venues, this is the right place for you! There are many beers on offer, some very particular. Magical atmosphere. I didn't get to try the food.

Personally I like a bit of background music so that's why I only rated 5 stars on atmosphere. The atmosphere was very pleasant though having said that. The beer selection was really good and the lady behind the bar was very knowledgeable whilst recommending beers. I prefer Porters so was pleased to find a caramel fudge porter which was delicious. We didn't eat here so can't rate the food. Would definitely recommend this place 😋🍺

This place truly made us feel like locals! The staff was super kind in knowing we were from out of town. They made great recommendations (especially for someone like me who doesn’t really drink beer) and the snacks were outstanding!!! I’d love to return again!

GF loves craft beers and this establishment had a great assortment from all over. Staff were very knowledgeable and assisted in the beet selection. For beer lovers a need to visit place.

(Jan 2007) Cracked some brews at 6.30pm on a balmy Saturdayday night. Very close to the action, perhaps just 100m from the main drag (Damrak), just opposite a great hot chips / Belgian frys shop (go the satay sauce!!). A non-smoking room and ~20 quality beers on tap are the high points. A touch run-dwon compared to many euro bars but I’d rather look it as ’shabby chic’. There’s probably at least another 150 beers on tap. Amsterdam’s leading beer geek bar along with Arendnest.

If you are looking for a cozy, warm, friendly bar to drink delicious beer, then this the most suitable place for you. Wide selection of beers are offered and the staff is very helpful. I highly recommended this bar to sit and rest for an hour or two when you get tired exploring the city.

Not a Cafe but a "Beer Tasting Room" in the heart of Amsterdam and what a one! Wonderfully warm welcome by hospitable, knowledgeable staff, attractively decorated and nothing is crazy (even ordering cassis is completely normal), or is it something not normal? The beer list was not normally extensive with an endless amount of choice! Had a wonderful time at Beer Tasting Room In De Wildeman, a shame to go home again. Worth repeating!🍻

We love In De Wildeman! It is fun here in every season. Cozy in winter or on the terrace in summer. Last time there were some vaping/noisy tourists next to us, but hey, that's part of it.

Delightful pit stop to rest weary feet

Amazing bar in the center of Amsterdam. As it's a beer tasting room they have many different kinds of beers, both from the tap and bottled. Every single one we tried was great, even the IPA's which I normally don't like. The people working here are also so friendly and talkative, they recommended us many great beers. They don't have any music to make sure people can talk with each other and not be distracted, which I personally prefer. They also have great bar snacks up until closing so you don't have to leave if you get a bit hungry. Only been here once now but it's immediately one of my favourites, will definitely return!

Iconic. Wonderful range of beers and lots of knowledge. An absolute beer hotspot. The Trappist cheese was very nice.

Lovely and atmospheric beer bar with that authentic Dutch "bruin café" feel. Barman is very knowledgeable in beer and where the beers he is serving come from, which adds a great touch, especially if you're unfamiliar with the huge variety on offer. Love the variety in styles, which includes quite some uncommon ones. (Try the smoked beers, you're in for a surprise!)

Very good choice of local draft beers. Friendly place where customers represent all age groups. Proportion between men and women is equivalent. Seating is limited. When you have one, don't let it go. Excellent place to take a break while visiting the city.

Classic beer café with a very extensive beer list. Has a small shaded terrace with beautiful views from which you can spot tourists.

A really neat place to grab a beer. Service was top tier and the beer selection will have something for almost anyone's taste. The building itself is very old and has such a unique vibe. I highly recommend a stop in if you are feeling a beer or four.

Just sat down for a snack and a drink during Pride. This was very tasty! However, what I did not appreciate as much were the homophobic comments by the older male waiter about the festivities around us. Although these were made between his nose and lips while he was serving the table next to me, I could also hear him well. Said he didn't like the "nitty stuff" and also thought "Carnival is in February". Not a nice atmosphere when I'm sitting next to it with my arm around my girlfriend. I think he should have kept these comments to himself, it seemed unprofessional to me. The other servers were very friendly and we didn't get the feeling that they shared his opinion!

We tasted beer at this place located in the central area of ​​Amsterdam. An authentic place that offers personalized options. Prices can be considered average. It is not easy to find a place in a narrow street and outside area. Even though we drank our beer while standing, we enjoyed it.

Possibly my favourite pub, anywhere. This is a historic, traditional pub with a large range of local and foreign traditional and modern craft beers. Highly recommended. Very nice atmosphere and super nice and knowledgeable staff.

Tucked away in the middle of an area where you maybe wouldn’t expect to find a place of this magnitude. 18 taps with a good spread and a more than decent bottle selection. Staff is split between absolute angels and the one borderline psychopath. If not for the latter this would be a solid 5/5.

You must come here during you visit in Amsterdam to try a few of the different beers. They have a huge variety and the staff is extremely nice, willing to recommend options and have a chat too. There is a nice selection of gluten free beer. I tried the Jopen which is locally made. We also tasted some dutch cheese and pickles. Definitely do not miss this gem!

We only stayed in Amsterdam for one night and stayed in the Canal District. This beer house is on the line from the Royal Palace to the train station, which is very convenient. There are 18 types of beers directly injected at the bar and more than 200 types of bottled beers. You can chat with the bar staff and ask them to introduce them. It is not expensive and the atmosphere is good. There are a lot of people on Thursday night, so it’s safe to walk on the road after 12 o’clock

What a brilliant pub. Fab beer choices and bar staff that like to chat about beers. Had a Marble Brewery Bitter, sitting outside on a sunny lunch time.

There is a lot to taste (drink). Explain to the staff what flavor you want, you will 100% get the right advice about which type of beer to take. In terms of food, you will only find drinks and garnishes. Hence the 3 stars. Has nothing to do with the taste.

If you're going for a beer, fine. The atmosphere and acoustics are great. But sanoka... nothing much. Grind meat and canned fish... that way your stomach won't explode. Beer here, food somewhere next door.

You haven't experienced beer until you have experienced the Wildeman.

We have been running various goat tours for many years, of which the Wildeman was part. Today again. I genuinely find it annoying to write a negative review about a catering company, but I will make an exception for the Wildeman. Extremely grumpy staff. Choice was limited because 1 beer had run out. Whining because you have to work on Sundays because the pub is normally closed on Sundays…. All in all, just don't participate in these types of events anymore! In any case, we will skip future goat tours, as well as regular pub visits.

Our third visit to The Wildeman traveling from the UK. Truly the best Ale House in Amsterdam, all the staff a friendly, patient and helpful. It’s a craft beer lovers dream and cannot be overlooked when visiting the Dam.
