Only care about locals, not friendly otherwise! Worker working at 8:50 pm on October 11th, 2025 was not friendly and shewed us off. Terrible!

A very quaint pub offering plenty of draft beer. The ambiance also feels historic, rather than the increasingly common place that's been bought and patched together. But beware: I was led here by ChatGPT, who claimed that they serve particularly good bitterballen. That's not the case; there's simply nothing to eat.

A very Dutch place with a great selection of beers on tap. If you're not sure which one to choose, I recommend asking the guys at the bar, who can guide you or even let you try a beer that suits your tastes.

It's a shame it's so far away, otherwise this would definitely have become my new local pub. They have a huge selection of (craft) beers, and what I really appreciated was that the staff is incredibly knowledgeable. They're happy to offer advice and talk about the beers with enthusiasm. If I'm ever in Amsterdam again, I'll definitely be back!

One of the best pubs I’ve been to in Amsterdam. The tap list is great and the food options are also very nice. Prices are regular. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This is also the first stop of the MoreBeer beer tour of Amsterdam. Definitely worth a shot!

Wonderful selection of Dutch beers and amazing cheese platter for snacking. If you have time there is 3 additional bars that collaborate in a one day challenge of tasting a beer all 4 bars for a free shirt. It was a fun way to try the local bars and take back a souvenir from our trip.

Great place for a drink next to the water enjoying outside with the boats passing without having all the sound of the city. Very classy interior too, but can be a bit crowdy

Very wierd place with a extreamly bad service. I guess this pub is only for locals. I come there and there is like only 2 workers who serves 50+ people And when you speak with them, they ignore you. Never gonna back again...

Great place to have a beer. We didn't eat anything, just went for a few beers. The waiter with the curly hair was very friendly and treated us very well, helping us by recommending beers based on our tastes. The atmosphere is also very cozy.

Phenomenal craft beer spot in historic Amsterdam specialized in Dutch offerings. Nicely curated selection, offering around 50 draft beer rotating options. They cover a great gamut of styles, contemporary and classic pours, with special releases in a nicely maintained set up. They also have some selected bottles and cans, and a few designated offerings that can be taken to go. Snack food in the form of charcuterie and cheese boards offer plenty of Netherlands options. Portions are generous and tasty. The venue´s decor has a classic copper and wood feel with some breweriana. Atmosphere is casual and relaxed with indoor and outdoor seating by the canal. Staff is very professional, knowledgeable, and affable. They offer courteous sample pours to explore some options, and do know the craft and hospitality business very well. I saw bartenders being exemplary, courteous, and very professional managing with dexterity and elegance the rare potentially difficult patron. The pub is part of a group that has other venues associated around town with a more international range of ales. The specialization of this one into the Dutch craft beer scene is very notable, offering a very enjoyable insight into their brews. It's a compulsory stop for the Amsterdam visit.

I went alone, but the atmosphere was cozy and comfortable, so I didn't feel awkward! I had three beers, and every single one was delicious. 😌 The staff were sweet and friendly. It was nice to have a cheese platter, so I could try a variety of cheeses. 🧀🧀

Great spot for craft beer lover

This is exactly what I want from a bar, a great big beer selection a decent amount of cheese and sausage and a nice quiet atmosphere that lets you speak with people at the bar.

Plan on revisiting next time I'm in Amsterdam. Was an exceptional vibe, lovely patrons and was all round brilliant. Not to mention my partner and I needed to charge our phones and there is a power bank (pay for it hourly) at the back which helped a tonne. We went to this place twice because of how nice it was both inside and out, especially with the canal view. Incredible venue, I already want to go back.

As a decades long global beer hunter, Arendsnest is one of the world's best. While other beer bars tend to focus solely on their own brews or feature a menu of global beers longer than War and Peace, Ardensnest focuses on Dutch beers. There's a few guest taps for contrast, but the innovation and quality of Dutch brewers, in a Dutch only atmosphere, is the primary delivery. Ardensnest is primarily a neighborhood bar, in a relatively quiet part of Amsterdam, where locals and a few fortunate beer tourists gather to enjoy the close, friendly space and a few incredible beers.

Rebeto and Alexander are very nice and friendly!!! If you’re a fan of draft beer, you must check this place out. Massive tap beer list, all dutch beer. I highly recommend gerardus tripel beer.

One of the most beautiful tasting rooms I have seen in the Netherlands; staff has an enormous amount of knowledge about beer, and the assortment consists of very nice beers, local to unknown. Something for everyone. Also recommended for tastings in larger groups.

We come here more often when we are in Amsterdam. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What beautiful, unusual beers on tap. No problem to taste them. But also next to the tap a beautiful collection of delicious beers. I also advise to ask what is in the cellar. Because everyone knows how to appreciate a nicely matured Quadruple from Trappe. Staff is knowledgeable and easy to communicate. Don't forget to order the osseworst ❤️

There are so many varieties of Beer's available. Around 50 types on tap only. Timothy was very friendly and provided details of every beer you're having. If you are at Central area then you have to come here. Just loved it!!
