Best place in Amsterdam. Great bartenders, good music, Flugel is always cold. And if the daily special is vegetarian, I'll be back on Wednesdays.

My favourite corner in the heart of Amsterdam! The evening I visited was fabulous. The bar is so old timey, pop in here for a quick time travel! They say poor and broken explorers into the exotic lands would pay the lodging in monkeys 🐒🙈🐵🙉🐒🐒 hence in the monkeys (in 't Aepjen)! Start your bar crawl through Amsterdam's little alleys ay In 't Aepjen. Be sure to bring some monkeys when you come 😉 (Thanks and regards to my bartender. He was such a classic Dutch gentleman and adds to my fond memory of this Monkey inn every time I recall this time 😊)

We were pleasantly surprised by this place. It's a fantastic, relaxed atmosphere. Only Dutch beer on tap and in bottles. A ridiculously large selection. It's a great place. We'll definitely be back. It's incredibly cozy.

Overall decent experience with some clear room for improvement. Beer selection is decent and the bar has a good atmosphere, but there is a varied experience with staff: Sometimes, staff is friendly and knowledgeable, but we have also had experiences where staff was completely drunk or unwilling to assist. Decent bar, but would recommend trying other venues.
