Very poor service, a price tag on the wall from 2023 and a current price on the final bill. Very bad, very bad

We want this concept where we live too. Chinese AND fries, that only makes the stress of choosing even greater! We will definitely be back here! P.s. this is unsponsored ;)

The house spring roll was a good choice, well-filled and tasted delicious. The cafeteria/Chinese combination is highly recommended.

Yes... fine snack bar/Asian restaurant... the expanded version of a Chinese snack bar. They have everything and it looks neat.

Unfortunately, they really need to learn how to fry chips. I haven't been there for a while because of the quality. And I'm not the only one... They were friendly though (with many excuses as to why the fries were mediocre), so an extra star for that.

Smooth, friendly service and good, plentiful food

Great food at normal prices in otherwise touristy Valkenburg. A combination of an old-fashioned Chinese restaurant and a cafeteria. No-nonsense food, simply good, making it highly recommended. Portions are fine and service is fast and friendly.

We come here to eat every year with 8 people during our vacation. It used to be good. The food is fine, but the service was so bad. We had to ask if our drinks were coming, while people who arrived later did get them. We received our food with intervals, and it wasn't complete either. I got soup last, while almost everyone else was already finished. We mentioned it, but a simple "sorry, sorry" didn't really help much. The waiter knocked a few glasses of drink off the price. But the atmosphere is gone for us. We will be looking for another place to eat from now on.

Enjoying food and drinks in Valkenburg

We got takeout. This was the best Chinese food ever. And we are used to a lot. Don't expect fancy restaurant conditions. It is a cafeteria and Chinese restaurant. But you can sit there quite comfortably too. We are going to do that next week.

We had gone for a walk and were hungry. From the outside, the restaurant looks like a cafeteria, but a part of it is actually a first-class restaurant. We saw all kinds of familiar dishes on the menu. Because the restaurant wasn't busy, the owner offered to prepare a chef-composed rijsttafel for us, featuring original Chinese dishes that weren't standard on the menu. It was the last day of the holiday, and it was the best way to end it. The owner emphasized that this is only possible if you reserve in advance or if it isn't busy. I would say, everyone reading this should go here to eat at least once. It was exquisite.

A great Chinese snack bar. We stayed in Valkenburg for 4 days, and had delicious meals here for 2 of them. Friendly staff, large portions of food for little money. I recommend this snack bar!

Tasty food and drinks at a very reasonable price!

The food is unbelievably delicious, I've never had such tasty Chinese dishes👌. And the service is great; the girls who help you are very nice. This Chinese restaurant is amazing.

Fine Chinese food, the service was super friendly and the food was really incredibly tasty. The atmosphere in the restaurant is a bit more like a cafeteria, which is why I find the price a little on the high side, but that has nothing to do with the food, because that was really more than fine! 🙂

Small restaurant. At the entrance, there's a counter with Dutch snacks (frikandel, meat croquettes, fries with special sauce, etc.). There's also a kitchen where Chinese dishes are prepared. The seating inside is very inviting and comfortable. Table service is provided. What I found important and appreciated was that it didn't smell like a fast-food joint. Very friendly service. Soft-serve ice cream, milkshakes, etc., are also available for purchase on-site.

Not quite there: ordered chop suey, 12 euros. I didn't want rice, still 12 euros. Contents: bean sprouts, bell pepper, onion, carrot, cucumber, a bit of cabbage and canned mushrooms (yuck). Taste okay. Temperature good. Staff really very helpful. Atmosphere good. Service fast. With fresh mushrooms, a bit more variety in vegetables, for example a piece of broccoli or cauliflower (I never really understand cucumber in hot dishes...) and a 1 euro discount for the rice, I would have given 5 stars.

We had an incredibly delicious meal; it was very busy. We had to wait for a table, but within 5 minutes we were seated. Both the Chinese food and the fried food were delicious. Definitely recommended!

I'd like to comment on this. The combination of fried food and Chinese food seems ideal, but unfortunately, it's not. The Chinese section of this restaurant is fine, but the quality and quantity of the fried food is far below par. The biggest annoyance here is the constant feeling of being rushed. Last week, there were two foreign girls working there whose job seemed to be to get people out as quickly as possible. We hadn't even sat down when they asked what we wanted to drink (and we saw this at other tables as well). We were given the menu immediately, and when our drinks arrived after 30 seconds, they asked what we wanted to eat. When we said we didn't know yet, one of the girls kept pacing nervously around our table. We hadn't even finished when an empty plate of noodles was taken away and we were asked if we wanted to order anything else. I said, "We're not finished yet." When they came to clear the table, we were immediately asked if we wanted to pay. All of this makes visiting this restaurant very impersonal. Eat and get lost. And we're noticing that it's pretty much the same old story every time. Not good!

We ate at this cafeteria for the first time. It offers something for everyone, offering both snacks and Chinese dishes. We opted for Chinese dishes. The staff welcomed us warmly and we were able to order right away. Since we're not big eaters, we opted for a small menu. Our food arrived within 5 minutes. Despite the small menu, I had to work hard to finish it all. It was delicious 🤤 and good. Definitely recommended, and affordable too! 😀.

We went there after reading the many positive reviews. The Asian dishes were okay, absolutely. The fried snacks and fries didn't meet expectations at all, especially not for that price.

I placed an order today at Bali, where I got some food, fries, etc. When I got home, it turned out half of it was in, but I paid the full amount. I called the scammers later and they said, "Do you still have the receipt?"

Cafetaria/Chinese Berkelplein is located in beautiful Valkenburg! We went for the pork tenderloin with vegetables and cashews and the beef tenderloin with vegetables and cashews! We also had a tomato soup and the Berkelplein soup (chicken breast, shrimp, and vegetables). We started with the soup, which was delicious. The Berkel soup was especially delicious! A good portion and quite filling for a starter. Then we had the small tenderloin and the large pork tenderloin. The portions were good; both come in large plates, and the large one could easily feed two people if you're not a big eater. The meat in both dishes was wonderfully tender, beautifully marinated, and especially full of flavor. The service was excellent. The friendly staff clearly indicated the spicy content of your meal when taking your order, so if you don't like spicy food, they'll take that into account. The menu is extensive, so you can choose from everything, even fries and snacks, and of course, sauerkraut. The prices are great! And there are options for small and large... So, if you want good Chinese food, or just delicious fries, a snack, or something else, you've come to the right place! We'll be back soon for another review!

Misleading menu. If you order a currywurst, you only get one sausage. You have to order the curry separately and pay extra if you want a currywurst in the end. That was the last time.

Call to place an order. For delivery, a whopping 9 minutes away. They don't come, it's not outrageous. If you can't leave your home, this would have been a good solution, but unfortunately, they don't.

The food was very tasty and filling. The place was clean and simple, and the lady serving us was friendly and welcoming. The rest of the staff we interacted with were also friendly. If you’re not in the mood for Chinese food, they offer a range of Dutch dishes, which was a good option for us, and quite some snack choices too. Prices are affordable, and we got a generous amount of food. We’ll definitely come back when we’re in the area. Worth checking out if you’re after a good, affordable meal. Edit: Second time here. We said we’d come again and we did! Place was buzzing this time around, even though it was packed, we didn’t have to wait long for food. Food was still pretty good.

Got there in 8 minutes on Christmas Day! Great food and always delivered quickly, and not too expensive either. Happy holidays :)

Super service! Even during busy times (we went during the Christmas parade) the quality of the food is still good and the staff remains friendly (and they were understaffed we found out later from the owner). Very hygienic. The toilets were spotless too. Combination between snackbar and Chinese food. Ideal for families with picky eaters. Definitely recommend!! (they have plenty of paid parking in front of the restaurant and the Christmas parade is at 7min walking distance)

Delicious food and fast service.

That was the worst meal I've ever had in a restaurant. Half of us felt sick after eating it. The rice with vegetables and curry sauce tasted only of pepper and cucumber and was very dry. The fries were also very dry and were already cooked and sitting behind the counter.

Large portions, delicious food, and a pleasant atmosphere—both inside and outside the restaurant. We were lucky enough to be there during a parade, so we enjoyed colorful, exotic costumes and various performances. A pleasant experience with a filling meal.

My food had been ready for 10 minutes, but the vegetarian spring roll wasn't ready yet. I was told/saw that. "It's ready," she says. I say, "The bag has been there a while." "That's fine," she says. "Really not nice... And cold fries... And the spring roll wasn't cooked through...

I recommend the HotWok shrimp or beef strips with fried onions and mushrooms. Dined on October 1, 2025. Delicious!!!!

Here you can eat well (Chinese food and fried food) for a reasonable price. Rarely eaten such a delicious Tjap tjoy! All ingredients are bought fresh locally every morning by the owner. The chef has been preparing all dishes fresh for more than 20 years. Very friendly service. Many locals come here and around dinner time it gets busy and that is always a good sign👍🏻👏🏻.

Yesterday I got fries again (far too few) with a croquette and a frikadel. It was just as tasty as usual. The last time we were here (last November) the portion of fries was still fine, but now.... far too few fries. After the fries, croquette and frikandel, let's get something 😕.

Onze laatste avond in Valkenburg helaas bij deze zogenaamde Chinees beland maar zeer ongezellig ook totaal geen Chinees restaurant gevoel gehad. ( dit was een frituur die ook een Chinees was, lol). Bij de echte Chinees wordt een babi pangang heel heet opgediend met zo een sis geluidje. Hier enkel op een koud bord. Geen tafelkleedje niets. De Chinese eigenaresse was niet vriendelijk. Je zou voor minder weglopen, een wegrestaurant is nog gezelliger!!!!
