Good and tasty doner. After a long time, I ate really good doner. I had a hard time resisting ordering a second roll. Fresh wrap and good sauce take the experience to the next level.

It used to be a very tasty donor sandwich. Unfortunately, the quality and quantity have declined, but the price has gone up. I paid €10 for a small donor sandwich (what they call large), and on top of that, I found some nasty hair in my sandwich.

Delicious food! This humble restaurant has an excellent staff. The owner is attentive and personally serves the customers. We thank him for his efforts. Cleanliness is impeccable. Thank you, Best Doner!

Tasty, but certainly not the best doner in Amsterdam or the Netherlands. I had a large chicken doner myself; now the small one is 1 euro less, so you tend to go for the big one. The bun itself was nice and fresh, fine, lettuce and toppings also fresh. You can taste it: freshly cut (by hand) and no supermarket ready-made bags of lettuce. The chicken doner itself was okay, but it lacked a bit of flavor. With warmer, it could have been a bit more "fried." Definitely not bad, but just... fine. All in all, a 7.5. A small point: there were two people standing in front of me who, according to the owner, were going to "get a 1 euro discount because they were Turkish." Really not jealousy, but this is discrimination. If you were to reverse it at Bakker Bart, for example—if you are born of white Dutch descent you get a euro discount—then all hell would have broken loose and it would have been in the newspaper. But anyway. I am also of the opinion that no matter where you were born, we are all Dutch and the same prices apply to everyone. Furthermore, you can sit there and relax for a bit, eat your sandwich, and that's about it.

After being a customer for years, I now get a big mouth from the lady (who has actually been grumpy every time for the last ten years), and I subsequently hear her telling lies about me to her colleagues, because she acts particularly secretive when I ask what spices are in the onion mix. She had no idea what goes into the food she sells, and communicated that in such an insane way.. People, Effendy has long since surpassed this place, so go go there! And even better than Effendy: Döner Factory in Oud-West!

I used to get something here often, but less so after my last experience. The taste of the doner kebab is fine, but not (anymore) WOW. For 10 euros, you expect more from the taste and also from the portion size. In Amsterdam, you can certainly find places with better taste for a better price. And in my experience, the service is not good. There is a woman working there who treats you very unfriendly and not customer-oriented. I read that I am not the only one with these experiences. All in all, a decent doner for an expensive price and poor service.

Had a delicious meal today, friendly staff who seem like friends to me. Tender lamb, highly recommended. I had the lamb wrap, delicious, spicy Madame Jeanette sauce and with fried onions. I've eaten doner kebab before, but theirs remains the best, and nothing surpasses their service and preparation. Everyone, you have to taste this at least once; it is addictive.

I like it, but it is also a bit over the top. Especially with the onion and pepper combination sauce, I think it makes it special, but the meat itself isn't very special. Not 5 stars for my taste.

The best döner I've ever tasted, and I've tried many places, but as everyone says, only one remains the best, and that's theirs. I tried it once, and I'll definitely be back almost daily. The meat is so tender with their delicious garlic! I'll definitely be back because they're so friendly, and you really get what you pay for. I'd rather have a large döner sandwich than a platter. You really only get one of them; they're unique! Definitely recommended.

Doner kebab meat sold as 100 percent lamb but actually mechanically separated turkey and lamb; prices have risen, and not just a little; for that money, you can eat much better elsewhere than here; the next day you are guaranteed to get a stomach ache and a turbulent visit to the toilet is inevitable; the place gets 1 star from me and is playing catch-up after a short-lived hype.

Minimal meat, tasteless wrap, and a weird yellow garlic sauce. It used to be the best doner, now it's mediocre. Price absurdly high. €11 for a wrap with very little filling. That includes a maximum of 2 euros in production costs, including labor and all.

Very sweet owner, nice to talk to and tries to keep the service as good as possible. When you arrive, you can order on the left side of the stall, pick up in the middle, and collect on the right. Tasty meat and you can really taste that it is lamb! For some, this might be a different taste experience, but it is very good! We were there around 11:30, fortunately it wasn't busy and we were served within 5-10 minutes. They are a real institution at the Dappermarkt and they live up to that!

I come here often to get döner kebabs. The sandwiches are well-filled and tasty, a bit pricey though, but the flavor is there to be enjoyed. There are always nice people who prepare the sandwiches with care and speak to customers with respect, except for one person. This is a woman (presumably the owner's daughter) with a very grumpy face who is rushing to get rid of the customers. What an arrogant bitch she is, with a bad attitude and way of speaking, disgusting! It is absolutely not an isolated incident because I have seen this more often. She is not helpful at all and she can't and won't smile!! It seems like she is being forced to work there. She probably thinks she is beautiful enough to keep slathering a kilo of makeup on her face. I don't know who she does this for, but one thing I know for sure is that it is very unfortunate for the owner, his wife, and the daughter who are working incredibly hard there to do things right. It is abundantly clear that with this behavior she indicates she does not want to do the work; why the owner lets her work behind the cash register is incomprehensible! She is completely destroying the brand reputation and the business this way. She is not capable of doing this job. It is obvious that she has problems with herself and is taking it out on the customers. I cannot imagine that the owner is unaware of this. My advice to him would be to never let her work there again if you want to remain successful. One more side note: unfortunately, nothing has been done about filing a telephone complaint about her on the day itself. The agreement was that I would be called back, which still hasn't happened. Am I going to come back? Until the complaint is resolved to my satisfaction, no!

Great place for döner in Amsterdam! The meat is perfectly seasoned and deliciously juicy, and the buns are fresh and well-filled. The sauce finishes it off perfectly. Fast service and friendly staff ensure a top-notch experience. Definitely the best döner I've eaten here!

Today i had a lamb wrap doner from here and i had issued right afterwards i felt nauseous and couple hours later i vomited… besides that personal was rude as well during order prep

A European version of the classic Turkish döner. It's packed with everything you could want. Quite large, priced around 10 EUR. There's a tented seating area nearby where you can sit. It's a classic buffet style.

Decent Doner with hard to find fresh baked bread for Oost but a bit overpriced at 11 euro for a lamb doner. My favorite doner is still Leeman Doner in de Pijp with the softest fresh baked yeasty bread and perfect ratio of meat with veg. Used to be 2.50 euro and now around 6 EuR which is still decent for the area.

Really good chicken donner, good staff, very nice with a smile. The meat was full of spices and flavour, not some bland chicken. I loved all the extra ingredients and types of salad. Portion was ok - I ate the whole thing and didn't feel over full. There's a seating area with a heater but no bathrooms available. I would definitely go again, well worth going to for a good, tasty and legit kebab.

This one is in the same league as what you would find in Berlin, definitely the best Kebab in Amsterdam for me. I will come again

We came from The Hague today because we have heard about this place often. I really enjoyed it; I can definitely say it is the best doner I have eaten in the Netherlands. Just a good sandwich, but there are better doner places in Amsterdam. The bread is fresh, the meat has little flavor (I had chicken), and the toppings are fine. The staff is friendly.

I've been eating here for years, sometimes with 4 or 5 people. Today I asked for meat and bread on the side so I could heat it up at work. The lady reacted very weakly and refused to cooperate. Yes, for €15, she could have helped. I think the quality has deteriorated significantly in recent years. I left without a sandwich, but went 100 meters further and got a generous grilled mix for €5 more. Luckily, it was in a takeaway container.

I came the day before yesterday from a one-hour drive to buy leaf doner When I saw the doner from afar, I wasn't sure if it was leaf doner or not I asked the lady at the cashier, "Sister, is your doner 100% leaf doner?" She said, "Yes, yes, absolutely" An hour later, when I got home and saw it on the table, it had nothing to do with leaf doner I bought 6 loaves of bread, and none of them resembled leaf doner meat What you did is so shameful! I come from a one-hour drive You advertise and print it as leaf doner And on top of that, you lie to my face at the cashier It's very shameful!!

It's a tasty sandwich. The vegetables are a plus, something you don't often see with a döner. The many reviews made me curious and I gave it a try. It's okay and fresh, but honestly, I don't quite get the hype. For what you get, I think it's a bit pricey. Could be better, but it's fine for a one-off.

I’ve got lamb wrap - It’s different from other doners, it has more vegetables and special sauce, some fried onions as well, which definitely makes it very tasty. I was lucky, because right after taking my order there was a huge queue. The staff is very fast and friendly, prices are affordable

Literally the best döner. Not just on Dapperstraat, Amsterdam, the Netherlands, or Europe—the best in the world.

The name says it all. Walking past, the smell was so delicious that we just had to eat there. What can I say? After the first kebab, I got a second one simply because it was so good. 😂

Here they have the tastiest Doner we have ever tasted. Delicious to eat with Airan (a slightly sweet yoghurt drink). When we visit the Dappermarkt, we always eat a sandwich here :-)

Really not tasty, way too wet and the meat was like minced meat, not tasty pieces of chicken. Sorry but this was really a shame and too expensive for €9.50 😪

Been having this as my favourite kebab in Amsterdam but today, the service was poor. Slow and arrogant and I wanted the roast vegetables that come with the wrap but they insisted that it was included (guy even said he saw with his own eyes when he was nowhere near when the kebab was prepared like I was lying). The owner is a lovely man who was kind and friendly but the bunch serving today made my favourite meal into a terrible experience.

Really good doner, definitely the best I’ve had in Amsterdam but it is important to remember this not a late night food spot so it important to judge them differently. This would compete more with like street food places rather than a snackbar serving kebabs at 3 am.

I did a two week trip through Europe where I experienced French, Portuguese and Dutch cuisine. And yet, out of all the things I ate, the doner from this place was easily my favorite. Loved the herbs and spices, the perfectly cooked meat, the soft outer bread. Simply delicious! Find myself craving another even though I am now back home. 😭
