Bhatti Pasal - Authentic Nepalese Food in Burgwallen-Nieuwe Zijde

I booked Bhatti Pasal for a large group surprise birthday party. We already loved this restaurant but they made this evening so special, were so accommodating, attentive and kind! They hosted our group seamlessly and even played the birthday song in the restaurant with a candle dessert. Wonderful team and thank you for making it such a special celebration

The food wasn't anything special if you're familiar with dumplings, and it certainly wasn't a flavor explosion. The restaurant is also very small and cramped, and all your clothes smelled strongly of grease afterward. It wasn't really worth it.

What a nice, small and cozy place, with friendly people, and last but not least great tasty food. One to remember.

I was so impressed with my experience here. The food was outstanding - so blown away by the flavor and quality. We got the tasting menu and I was so excited to eat every single thing. The waitstaff was also super helpful, checking on us and refilling some of our dishes, even. I can’t wait to come back here; may even plan a trip to NL just for this dinner again!

The Momo was great and the chatni with damn good

I was shocked by the poor hygiene and sloppy presentation. The bread tasted stale, salad wilted, and glassware had spots. The server was dismissive and slow to respond. For the price charged, this level of service is unacceptable and disappointing.

I left the restaurant feeling disappointed and cheated. My meal arrived late, was poorly seasoned, and a requested dish was unavailable despite being on the menu. Staff communication was terrible, and the ambiance felt loud and chaotic. Won’t be returning.

We went here for dinner. It’s such a small cozy place yet it feels and looks very clean and very hygienic and very under control. The staff is very polite. The menu is very limited but very clean and light. Real good quality food. We ordered the chicken pan fried momos in sesame sauce, the chicken chowmien, Nepalese chili and beer. While everything else was super nice, the momos stole the show. Portion sizes are big enough such that one dish cab easily fill up one person. We couldn’t finish our potato chili.

The food was great but the waiter was super rude and racist. the places is small and no proper airflow, also the price is a little bit higher than expected.

The food is delicious and their selection is excellent. The chicken rice is delicious. The shish tawook is delicious. Momo was delicious. Sukar's service is excellent and the team is absolutely amazing.

We ordered momos, chicken chowmein, and soup, and everything was delicious! The flavors are on point, and the service is great. Come early to avoid the lineup; we got a table right away when we arrived at 6 p.m.

Small Nepalese restaurant that exceeded expectations! The noodles and dumplings were super good - definitely 5 out of 5. The Thali was also good but not quite in the same class - 4 out of 5. There were three of us who came there without a reservation, and there were no free tables. We had to give our name and were asked to come back in 10-15 minutes. In the end, we probably had to wait 20-25 minutes. Which was still above expectations considering that the restaurant is so small and seems to be quite popular. The staff was nice and very accommodating! I also liked the place, even though it was quite loud.

Myself being a nepalese this is the worst nepalese restaurant i 've ever been to. Ordered momo and mix thukpa. Waited there for 45 mins. MOMO was alright but, thukpa was just noodles with warm water. The chef were just only named chef. When your a nepali and you are craving for authentic food you won't find the taste you will be looking for. The only good thing here was the waiter. He was very professional and very very polite. (This place is only for those who don't know the real taste of nepalese food. They are just selling it to tourist who don't know the taste.)

The server bhai was very helpful, we had a stroller and he really helped us to take it inside the restaurant and place it safely. The food was tasty and you can see chef cooking which gives lively atmosphere. Recommend to try

An inconspicuous little restaurant with fantastic food.

The Nepalese diaspora is now all over the world. We ran across this tiny Nepali restaurant, Bhatti Pasal (21 seats) in Central Amsterdam. The boys loved the steamed momos & kothay. The choila was a hit with Amanda & Avalok. The thali set of chicken curry, black dal, saag, broccoli curry, cucumber achar, yogurt, papad, tomato chutney served on a brass thal (plate) & kachaura (cups) was a reminder of home. The boys said the chicken curry reminded them of Muwa's cooking which is a great compliment to the chefs. It can't better than that. Jai Nepal!🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵

Been here a couple of times, food is lovely always a delight. We had a bit of everything, best place for Momos in the Netherlands.

This tiny restaurant was perfect, waiters were chatty and friendly 🥰🥰 we were indecisive since it was first time trying, and they waited for us to decide, explained ingredients in details with pics. Dishes were perfect, yummy. Thanks to great chefs🥰

We had a great time at this restaurant! My parents were skeptical about trying nepalese food at first, but they ended up enjoying it: the food was delicious (the momos are amazing!) and the service careful and competent. The two servers we had were really helpful and nice, but we didn't get their names unfortunately 🥲. The space indoor is a bit tight tho, so it's probably best for two people. Would definitely recommend! We had a great time!

We were there in 2023, and I really wanted to write a review! It was such a super authentic Nepalese restaurant; we felt really comfortable. It was small and cramped, but everyone was super friendly. You get to see everything being cooked up close, and the food on your plate is explained to you very kindly as it's served. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Amsterdam 😊

After 32 days of traveling in Europe, I really missed Asian hot soups! I stumbled upon this place on Google Maps. It's next to a chip shop. I had a bowl of spicy hot pork noodle soup. It was fantastic. The broth was delicious! I think more people should visit this place. The restrooms are brand new and clean. I took a break here. It was very comfortable and relaxing!

The food was not authentic and was too salty. The staff were also unfriendly, speaking poorly about guests behind their back. I cannot recommend this restaurant.

A wonderful nepalese reetaurant in the heart of the city. We were lucky enough to get a table (only a few tables) and enjoyed an awesome authentic dinner. The food is prepared in an open kitchen close to the tables and is absolutely delicious and the service is amazing! The mixed plate was good to share and a selection of traditional nepalese food. You can only access the restaurant via stairs.

We had a very nice time there. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars for food is I compared it with food in Nepal. It is almost a 5 star though.

The food is delicious and the service is very good. The place is very small so you have to be a little lucky or wait to eat. We were lucky and everything was delicious. The spicy food is very hot so if you don't tolerate spicy food well, it's better not to try it. The portions are quite generous too.

Bhatti is a excellent restaurant. The food was made fresh and hot. I enjoyed every bite, the dumplings were amazing and the fried rice was, chicken were delicious as well. A must visit!! You will not be disappointed.

We discovered this little gem by chance. The waiter initially didn't have a table available for us (4 people), but he took down our phone number and called shortly after when one became available. The extremely friendly waiter did a really good job. He recommended four dishes for us, along with a truly delicious Nepalese beer with light and unobtrusive citrus notes, which went very well with the meal. The food was incredibly delicious. The spices and flavors of the dishes are unique. I've never had dishes like peanut salad or puffed rice as a side dish in this form before. You could taste every component without the spices overpowering the other ingredients. Besides the waiter, the rest of the team was also extremely friendly. The price for the meal with drinks was around €30 per person, which is really reasonable for this part of town. This restaurant should not be missed on any visit to Amsterdam. We wish the team all the best and hope to be able to come back soon.

I was looking for a good place to have a delicious dinner. I found this Thai restaurant on Google. It is located in the center of Amsterdam. The craft beer recommended by the restaurant is delicious and goes very well with the Thai roast chicken rice I ordered. This is the most delicious dinner I had in Amsterdam this time!

We were really craving some authentic Nepalese momo, and Bhatti Pasal Voetboog absolutely hit the spot! It's a small but cozy place with a welcoming atmosphere. The waitress was friendly and helpful with her recommendations. We ordered the vegetarian momo with sesame curry sauce (jhol) and vegetable fried rice – both were outstanding. The momo, paired with the tomato coriander chutney, were packed with flavor and truly lip-smacking. The fried rice was equally impressive – loaded with vegetables and tofu, it was fresh, well-balanced, and delicious. Overall, a fantastic experience. If you're looking for authentic Nepalese flavors in Amsterdam, this place is a must-try!

Exquisite, authentic food - truly a "don't miss" in Amsterdam. They have some more general dishes that you may find elsewhere (like fried rice), but the Nepalese food can't be beat. The waiter made some excellent recommendations and we went with all of them. Best momo's I have ever had (we chose pork with sesame sauce). We shared the Chicken Bhatti Pasal Thali (I will be dreaming of this dish for the next few years) and the Barra Pancake (a flavor infusion I have never experienced before, divine). Cute inside, but we chose to sit by ourselves outside at a small table for two. Excellent meal, service, and ambiance.

I don't write reviews often, but this place deserves it. I ate the pork dumplings in chili sauce and it was perhaps my favorite food experience in Amsterdam. The flavor was intense, deep, rich, fresh, spicy, crunchy, moist, savory... I could go on and on, but I'll leave with this: How often do you have the chance to eat nepalese food? Unless you live in a huge metropol it's probably quite rare, and it is not something an experience that you should miss out on. Go to this quaint, cozy restaurant and taste the wonders cooked up by the charismatic chef.

We found this restaurant by chance. The space inside is not big, but the food is well seasoned and the portion is just right. It is not stressful to eat alone.

Grabbed the veggie momo as a late dinner snack and they were surprisingly fresh and really tasty. You can tell it’s a family-run spot — Nepali-owned and clearly made with love and authenticity. Definitely recommend if you’re craving something a bit different but super genuine. And yep, no photo — the momo were gone before we even thought about it! The tomato-coriander chutney was great too, though I wouldn’t have minded a little more heat.
