Monkey Temple (Nepalese Street Food) Breakfast , Lunch & Dinner in De Weteringschans

I ordered and it didn't get delivered. Waited for over 2 hours. When i called he heard my voice and hung up on me and never answered again. Horrible service and extremely rude the first time we called. Do NOTTT order from this place.

We went here as a group for lunch during our holiday. Good choice of Nepalese cuisine (I wouldn't call it street food as the name of the place suggests). We tried various types of curries, meat and vegetables, served with spicy rice. All good. Prices a little high, although in line with the very tourist area in which the restaurant is located. Service a little slow, we waited quite a while even though there were only us and another group in the place.

Best Nepalese Restaurant in Amsterdam..I have visited this restaurant more than 50 times and the food tastes amazing as usual. The prices are reasonable but the food and the service are of premium quality.

Ate here with Social Deal and really surprised by the tasty curry (Chicken Madras). Papadum starter was also tasty. It was a nice evening and a delicious meal.

Food was incredible. Waiter was very kind and flexible. Service was slow because one waiter handled the entire restaurant and bussing, but very enjoyable if you can take your time.

Super delicious food that you can't get everywhere! The food was more than sufficient and the selection was very good, the taste was really delicious, our service was very courteous and also gave us advice. It's in a great location on Marktstrasse and it looks very chic inside too. It just took a bit of a long time even though there wasn't that much going on, but that's bearable because of the great ambience :)

First of all, the portions are huge! And the food is incredible. It did not take long at all for Them to prepare our food. The staff was very welcoming and attentive.

The food was very good. Upon request they toned down the spicyness of our child’s meal and added some to mine. Very polite waiter.

We ordered rice plates with lamb, chicken and vegetarian. All of them were delicious and the waiter was very friendly. Highly recommend!

I had lunch yesterday at this beautiful outdoor sitting place. I am happy with the food proportion which is sufficient for 2. The ambience is pretty good. Service is as quick and prompt. However, the food was not upto the mark. We ordered chicken thali. The proportion was good but the chicken was dry and hard. It did feel like old frozen chicken being cooked. The veg curry had good proportion of paneer and tasted good. The dal (lentils) was tasteless :( The kheer which was served was amazing and Totally worth every penny. In the thali, only kheer seemed freshly prepared. We also ordered chicken steamed momos but the inner portion of momos were not steamed. It was more or less like the frozen packeted momos that were served without proper cooking. I would not recommend this place for main courses.

Really good food. Samosas and vegetarian momos super tasty. I got some spicy sauce on the side which was good with the momos.

Insanely delicious food. Both the starter and the main course were excellent. Highly recommended. The only disappointment was the beer......a 25 cl bottle of Leffe Blond. I didn't even know it existed😉

We had an incredibly good experience at Monkey Temple. Upon entering we immediately felt like we were in an oasis of peace, with beautiful, soothing music in the background. The host was incredibly friendly and helpful. We had a delicious traditional meal. Finally, the location was perfect, right in the center in a street full of restaurants from different cultures. The combination of these factors meant that we had a great experience and that we will definitely come back!

We booked a table via fork and had 50% discount. We ordered starters immediately and we chose to take away the main course. The service was faster but for relatively slower than other restaurants in the lane. We saw many people waiting just for starters for more than 30-40 mins. Chicken momos are awesome, specially the spicy sauce that comes with it. Cocktails were not nice and chicken chowmein was also okay. While paying, we were told that the 50% discount by fork is not ok starters which wasn’t explicitly mentioned to us by the waiter at first when we told him that we have a discount by fork.

Van bij het begin met de huisgemaakte oma sausjes (die heerlijk waren!!) tot het voorgerecht de chilli chicken (jum!) tot aan het hoofdgerecht (butter chicken) was het gewoonweg PERFECT!! Tegelijkertijd werden we nog eens op handen gedragen dankzij de geweldige gastheer!

Stayed a couple of days in Amsterdam, and everytime I ordered from Monkey Temple. The food was very tasty and spicy as i mentioned in my order, good value for money.

Good food, all types of momo. Haven't tried the chicken momo yet. Will come back.

Food is nice and portions generous but unexciting. Location is in a very touristy street with lots of walk-in’s. The atmosphere was lively but not classy. Prices reflect this and are on par with what it provided.

Friendly staff Good price-performance ratio Very tasty food. But some dishes are too meat-heavy, so I will rather take the vegetarian ones in the future. I chose jalfarazi with chicken. I felt like I only had chicken in my mouth and could hardly taste the sauce (the actual highlight for me) 😕 The cocktails (at least my cocktail) are a bit expensive at 200ml and almost 9€

Great food, make sure u know ur limits because it is actually spicy. The staff does warn u and explain and are efficient. Loved it!

Samosa chaat was delicious! Fresh toppings and a nice hot samosa inside. To add, the mango lassi was delicious. Will be coming back for the tandoori platter as I saw it sizzling on a hot plate while I was on my way out.

Wat een gedoe dit zeg... Vorige keren superlekker gegeten, wel altijd bezorging met vertraging en slechte communicatie via uber eats. Deze keer hebben ze het helemaal verpest. Om 18:55 bestelling geplaatst. Ruim twee uur later hadden we nog niks, dus gebeld (1). "Bezorger gaat nu weg hier en is er over 20 minuten." Na weer iets van drie kwartier te hebben gewacht weer gebeld (2). "Ja, drie/vier minuten mevrouw." Na tien minuten weer gebeld (3): "Ik bel je zo terug over waar de bezorger uithangt." Niks. Na tien minuten belt m'n vriend (4): "Ik bel je over drie minuten terug over waar het blijft." Weer niks. Ik bel weer terug (5). Checkt EINDELIJK een keer echt m'n naam. Die had ik sowieso al twee keer eerder genoemd. Hij zegt: "Er is helemaal geen order van u." Het lijkt ze echt helemaal niks te boeien als je met een probleem aankomt en vervolgens is het te laat om nog wat te doen en kun je zonder eten naar bed, omdat je de hele tijd aan het lijntje wordt gehouden. Dan worden we ook nog doorverwezen naar een telefoonnummer van Uber Eats dat bedoeld is ter ondersteuning voor restaurants. Dat nummer hadden ze zelf voor ons moeten bellen. De mevrouw aan de lijn stond ons gelukkig wel passend te woord, maar ja, uiteindelijk nog geen eten. Allemaal leuk en aardig dat Monkey Temple wijst naar een technische fout van UE, maar als er iets fout gaat en iemand geeft dat meerdere malen aan, handel er dan naar: los het op. Niet zo lekker gewerkt mensen van Monkey Temple.

Its oké , good for lunch. The amount on your plate is not so much. And im not a big eater.
