What a wonderful surprise it was to dine one winter evening in this magnificent restaurant. The chef welcomed us with open arms and shared his finest cuisine with us in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The price, for its part, is more than reasonable considering the generous portions. My only regret is that I couldn't savor the experience longer. I've come a long way, and I will return to admire the technical prowess this chef offers.

I visited this restaurant with my wife yesterday evening and had one of the most unprofessional dining experiences I’ve ever encountered. While we were still eating and drinking, the owner came to our table and bluntly asked us to leave so they could “accommodate more people.” No apology, no courtesy — just a completely disrespectful approach that made it clear they prioritize turnover over basic customer service. On top of that, the food was far below average. We ordered the chicken biryani, and anyone who has eaten a real biryani knows it does not come with peas in it . The dish was bland, lacking flavor, and felt like it was thrown together without any attention to authenticity or taste. Between the poor-quality food and the shockingly rude behavior, this place left a very negative impression. There are plenty of restaurants that understand hospitality and good cooking — this, unfortunately, is not one of them. I won’t be returning, and I hope others are aware before choosing to dine here.

My husband and I recently dined at Sita in Amsterdam and were very disappointed with both the food and the service. The dishes were bland and of noticeably poor quality. Biryani came as of left over pulao was mixed with some left over gravy. While we were still eating and had drinks on the table, the individual who appeared to be the owner asked whether we planned to order dessert. When we said no, he informed us that we would need to leave by 6:30 because the table might be ‘reserved.’ When I questioned this politely, he continued to insist the table was reserved, yet no one arrived to take it afterward. We were the only Indian couple in the restaurant, and the rest of the diners were white. We were also the only ones asked to leave early, which made the interaction feel particularly uncomfortable. This experience reflects poor hospitality and unprofessional conduct. We chose to pay and leave immediately, and we do not intend to return.”

The restaurant was very full, but we were given a makeshift table. We started with a few papadums, followed by a chicken madras curry. He warned us that this dish would be spicy, and it was, but not overly so. We had a delicious, quick meal.

We were here Sunday evening without a reservation, which wasn't a problem at all. The service was friendly and quick. Unfortunately, the butter chicken was a bit under-seasoned for our taste. But the vegetable balls were very good. All in all, a nice little place that we would visit again.

With a last time booking on a friday evening still could get a table, and we got really satisfied with the food. But gotta mention it came very late (almost in 1.30 hours after we ordered ). That made us a bit unpleasant while waiting but if you’re okay with that, food is really good.

On a busy Saturday evening, we had a delicious meal with fast service. Even when we ordered something extra during our meal, it arrived very quickly. The restaurant is cozy, and the tables are close together, but you don't have to bother each other. It might be a good idea to arrange something to protect against the cold when the restaurant door opens, as it can be quite disruptive during dinner.

We had a pleasant meal with four of us. We didn't want to eat too much so we shared the vegetable samosa starter (2 pieces) and the onion bahji (sort of 6 smallish pieces). They were both very good and not at all greasy. We shared three vegetarian mains (which came with plenty of rice) and ordered 2 naans as extra There was the right amount for the 4 of us. With one drink each we paid just over €20 per person. The restaurant was busy already at 6pm. We had to wait a little for service but we had two courses in less than an hour without rushing. Not a place for a long romantic dinner but if you'd like to eat something before going out then it's perfect. I was pretty thirsty during the evening although the food didn't taste overly salty.

Good service, the restaurant is very beautiful and well-designed. We ordered appetizers, the soups were mediocre, the momo we ate was excellent!

The food was simply delicious. The Nepalese dishes are also highly recommended. The staff was super friendly and quickly conjured up a table for 6 people. The price-performance ratio is absolutely reasonable for this quality.

Absolutely delicious! Not super fast, but that's to be expected with this type of restaurant. Butter naan was great, the Chicken Korma was to die for. We showed up at 2:30pm and no other customers were there, but it might be busier in the evening.

We got the non vegetarian platter for 2. It included soup for appetiser, rice, naan, grilled chicken, curry and dessert at the end. Very good value for the money. Would be also a good option for a family of 3. We ended up taking home the leftovers happily.

Food was ok, but nothing more than that. I felt it was lacking strong and deep flavours and came across as a bit on the bland side. Butter chicken was ok too but nothing special. I wouldnt go as far as calling the food mediocre, it was a notch above that in my humble opinion. The service was incredibly friendly and the bill was very reasonable, 73 euros for 2 persons including starters, 2 drinks each and side dishes and soup . So nothing to complain about those things.

Before a concert at the Concertgebouw (a 5-minute walk), we had a delicious meal at Sita's. The people were super friendly, and the food was delicious and good. We had a Nepalese dish with lamb and chicken tikka masala. Despite the heat, it was perfect inside under the fan.

Ordered saag paneer and a garlic naan as a pickup order, very nice flavours and super fresh! Staff were also very friendly. Recommended!

I was there yesterday with my friends and I had to write a review. This is by far the best Indian food we have had in the Netherlands. Absolutely delicious! And the owner/waiter was very kind and cheerful.

The environment is reminiscent of a mix between Indian and Chinese with very abundant and tasty dishes, friendly and helpful staff, prices in line (if not a little below) the average of the city. really excellent in general

Authentic, clean, yet warm and cozy The room is filled with aromatic spices emanating from all the different Nepalese and Indian dishes, which are served on a hot planch kept heated by tea candles. The presentation is absolutely stunning Family ran business, singly managed by husband and wife. Listen the sizzle of the Nepalese lamb, the house specialty! Must try

I have been there on Easter Friday and in spite of the rush, they were so kind and hospitable that we (family of 3) got a place within a short notice. The food was super delicious and if somebody in Amsterdam is looking for an authentic desi taste, this is a must visit. Much better taste than the other popular Indian Restaurants in the town.

Very disappointed with my visit to Sita restaurant in Amsterdam. The atmosphere was completely unprofessional, and the staff displayed a very unfriendly attitude. The food was far below expectations — the samosas were cold from the inside, as if taken straight from the freezer and not properly cooked. Even the naan was half raw. Sadly, I won't be coming back. What an address!! An evening of pleasure. In addition to having hearty and very good meals, the manager of the business is incredibly kind. Always smiling and friendly, he makes sure you have an excellent evening. The meal to share for 2 is superb with excellent value for money! A great restaurant near the Concertgebouw. The decor is dated but the food is tasty and plentiful. The service wasn't very fast, but we had the time so that wasn't a problem.

We had a great vegetarian 3 course menu, with soup, rice, naan, 2 currys en best of all: the tandori veggies were so good! Prices are very reasonable for this part of Amsterdam. Great place, friendly staff.

Admittedly we chose this place because it was late at night and it was open and near our hotel. The food was very good and the service too. Wish they sold the sauce that came with the Chicken Mo Mo — it was so yum!

So good that we went twice in 2 days - small family restuarant and this tops a lot of the good Indian restaurants in London. Well done!! You can tell its so fresh by the taste - masala was on point. Naan so fresh!!

I had an amazing experience at this Indian restaurant in the Netherlands! I ordered the vegetable biryani, and it was absolutely perfect—fragrant, flavorful, and cooked to perfection with the right blend of spices. TDLR: this is a tourist trap with subapr food that is likely not cooked fresh. Learn from my mistake and eat at one of the 3 restaurants mere meters from this spot, but not here. As I say in the restaurant having eaten perhaps a fraction of all that was served to me, I wondered how this restaurant is even viable. It must be a front for the mafia, I thought to myself. Across the street sat Anjappar restaurant, arguably the most successful restaurant serving Indian cuisine that's always jam packed, unfortunately it closes at 2130, and Sita is open till midnight. I presume many come here from the tourist stream who wander off museumplein hungry and disoriented. Or those who come seeking Anjappar, and come to Sita thinking it's must be somewhat similar - after all the food 'sounds' similar. It couldn't be further from the truth. The food was abysmal, all dishes are recycled versions of the same 3-4 dishes. Because the restaurant gets such low footfall, I expect that turnover is limited and they likely reuse the same dishes. the special chicken (choloyya something) is a basically a tandoori chicken breast - sliced and tossed with some white onion. The other curries are either a watered down 'spin-off' from butter chicken or another a watered down version of 'rogan josh'. This is NOT Nepalese or indian cuisine. This is lazy cooking by people who are here to milk the tourists. The restaurant scene is Amsterdam is far too competitive for such a terrible product to survive in the market. Unless, of course, the mafia is subsidizing them ;). Please do yourself a favour dear reader, and eat at the excellent restaurants mere meters from this spot - Esh Pita bar, or Anjappar or even the good old Wildschut cafe have a far far far superior quality compared to this sorry excuse of a spot.

New year's eve was very busy with an amazing number of people trying to get seated that hadn't booked. 1 more member of staff would have helped the staff so much. That aside, the food and staff were both fantastic.

This was a perfect dinner to end our first day in Amsterdam after a red eye flight. The veggie momos were tasty, as was the vegan soup (not remembering what the name of it was) and the papadums! Thank you. Super cozy.

Just before entering, the enticing aroma from the kitchen greeted us warmly, setting the tone for what turned out to be an incredible dining experience. The staff were not only professional but genuinely warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The food was delicious. I ordered a Nepalese specialty chicken dish (the chef’s special) that came with a vegetable curry, I ordered garlic naan and tried the aloo paneer. Every bite was a delight, I literally left no crumbs behind! As a dessert person, the highlight for me was the homemade mango kulfi!!! I might have even used my finger to scoop up every last bit of its yumminess. Oh and the kheer was also very tasty

Late lunch in Sita so only appetizers. Chicken MoMos with external curry sauce were truly superb with beautiful soft taste. My lentil chicken soup was in balance with flavours. Lamb kebab was very delicious and softly scharf, nicely presented with small cut vegetables. Food 5 stars. Great food with good wine, together with peaceful family atmosphere and friendly service. Will visit again.

It's a charming restaurant, cozy and good service. We were a table of 4 and ordered the pre-fix family menu. It took a while before we got the food. The appetizers were tasty, but when the main dishes arrived, we felt that we were already half full, and there were a lot of dishes to try! The entire pre-fix menu was Indian, and i was a bit disappointed that none of the Nepalese dishes were mixed in there as well Overall delicious dinner!

But I just ate in and tried the chefs special the chicken chhoyola and honestly it was so good that half way through i started thinking about how wild it is we taste things and I don’t generally do that during a meal so I’d say that’s a pretty good sign

Bu Hao holds. There are no white teeth on the opposite side. And it’s a bit ghostly. The curry was not overcooked, it was still Shi Geng's. Just go to the restaurant opposite 🇮🇳 to eat. You have to wait for a table at that restaurant. After eating at this restaurant for two hours, there were only a few guests at the table.
