This was my very first time trying a Nepali restaurant in Amsterdam and in my life and it was such a nice experience! The service was fantastic. The walls were decorated with beautiful photos of people from Nepal which really matched the warmth and friendliness of the staff. They were happy to answer our questions and chat but never in an overbearing way, just the right balance. The place had plenty of space between tables which is not always the case in Amsterdam (no overhearing the next table’s gossip here!). Buff Choila For food I tried Buff Choila which was also my first time eating water buffalo. The meat was rich and a bit fatty but paired with the crispy rice (also a first for me) it worked perfectly. The chili was just right. enough to give a kick without hiding the flavor of the meat. Vegetarian Kothay We also had Vegetarian Kothay which we expected to be like Nepali dumplings. The taste of the filling and sauce was completely different from what we imagined in a surprising but interesting and nice way! Dessert For dessert we had to try them all (there are four and we were four people). Juju Dhau known as the “King of Yogurts” was thick flavorful topped with fruit and not too sweet. I loved it. Yamari looked beautiful though I found the dough a bit thick. The carrot pudding tasted mostly like warm carrot and needed the sour cream for more excitement. And their “brownie” actually reminded me more of Persian halva, unexpected but nice to try. Overall it was a great first taste of Nepalese food with a warm atmosphere and really good vibes. I would happily go back.

We went with 5 people, we were very happy with the service, especially a tall young man, who was serving us. Food was delicious, well spiced however in MOMO dumplings could be more sauce on the size. The portions were proportional to the price. Overall very happy with the experience

I am very picky about food and places, but this is top. Fried dumplings and chicken soup 10/10. The young man ordered Khasi ko Masu with lamb, he also loved it. Excellent service, clean, cozy, large portions!

Highly refined cuisine, the produce is fresh. The wok-fried noodles were really good, as were the dumplings. A special mention for the sweet sesame dumplings!

Absolutely loved this place! The food was truly excellent – especially the chicken shawarma, which was full of flavor and perfectly prepared. The whole menu had a great variety of authentic Nepali dishes, and everything we tried tasted fresh and well-balanced. The atmosphere in the restaurant was really cozy and welcoming, and the staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely friendly. You could tell they cared about the guests having a good time. Considering it’s in Amsterdam, the prices were actually quite reasonable for the quality and service you get. If you enjoy Nepali cuisine or want to try something a bit different, this spot is definitely worth visiting

Fantastic Meal at Bhatti Pasal – 10/10! As long-time followers of Bhatti Pasal’s Instagram page, we were super excited to finally try their food during our visit to Amsterdam. They did not disappoint! From the moment we arrived, the service was warm and welcoming, and the food was absolutely delicious. We ordered a variety of dishes: Steamed Chicken Momo, Steamed Veg Momo, Chicken Momo Thukpa Soup, Chicken Sekuwa, Veg Thali but the real star of the meal was the Buff Choila, hands down, the king of dishes. Rich, flavourful, and perfectly spiced. We ended our meal with their delicious Gunpak, which was the perfect sweet finish, one that even the kids enjoyed. Thank you to the entire team at Bhatti Pasal for such a memorable dining experience. We all left full & very happy. Highly recommend!

Incredibly flavourful Dahl curry, well curated with sides which all complimented each other. Not too spicy, fresh ingredients which we can’t stop thinking about. Lovely, friendly service. A good vibe in the restaurant and it seemed very popular. Would definitely recommend

Great food. Always get dimsums with Sesame sauce and order green chilli dip on the side ( sometimes dip is not on the menu, but they hv it)

Great experience. I've been there with my 2 teens and we had no knowledge about this kitchen. Everybody has been nice with us explaining and helping to decide. The food was tasty and with consistent quantity and really good. The price was even better due to quality and quantity than other places in Amsterdam. Last not least tap water! Really satisfied and I suggest to everybody who is not frightened by spices!

Bhatti Pasal is a hidden gem in Amsterdam — small but cozy, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, especially Mr. Thapa, who kindly arranged a table for us on very short notice. The food was absolutely delicious, with the Buff items standing out as our favorite. We loved it so much that we visited twice during our stay — truly an amazing experience!

Had a great experience here! I came in half an hour before they closed, and still they served me a full vegetarian thali - it was my first time and the very friendly waiter San explained everything to me. Felt really welcomed, and food was great, too! Highly recommended!

By far one of my all time favorite restaurants. I had no idea Nepalese good was THIS good. The food is insane, the servers are all so kind, and the restaurant has such a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. Thank you for opening my eyes to a new world of flavor!!

For us it was the first time to try Nepalese food. The little restaurant is great, staff super helpful and an open kitchen which I always like. The food is inviting and was super tasty. It can be quite loud in the restaurant due to its smaller size. We'll definitely be back to try out more dishes!

Lugar típico Nepalés. El Salonero nos explicó las comidas típicas y nos explicó cómo comer. Fue increíble y delicioso todo lo que probamos.

Este lugar es ideal para cenar con amigos, familiares, su pareja o incluso en solitario. El ambiente era increíblemente amable y relajado con el personal más que dispuesto a atender a las necesidades y ofrecer recomendaciones sobre qué pedir. La comida en sí era absolutamente delicioso, lleno de sabor y generosas porciones. Este restaurante se sentía muy auténtico y si estoy de vuelta en Amsterdam de nuevo sin duda volveré para probar algo diferente!

First time trying Nepalese food, was not disappointed!! Do yourself a favor and just eat here.

The food was delicious and authentic, we really enjoyed it. Do make a reservation in advance, as it gets quite busy. One thing to note: the place can get a bit noisy during peak hours, and parking is a bit of a challenge. Still, the overall experience was worth it 👍

The chicken momo and chowmin were very good with perfect spicy.

You gave my reservation to my supposed "friend" (a random stranger) who came in 2.5h before the reservation time. It took 20m before we could order, 35m before I received anything to drink, a full hour since we sat down for our food to be served. 0 explanation how the food is supposed to be eaten (Buff choila). I am utterly disappointed, I had to have 3 separate phone calls while I was in the middle of a theme park to book this "experience". Food was good, toilets were an absolute mess.

We've liked absolutely everything. The dishes were delicious. The service was perfect. Don't believe in previous reviews about expensive prices on food. These prices are in almost all restaurants in Amsterdam

Nepali Kitchen in the Heart of Amsterdam, great presentation of foods, loved the momo there, friendly service as well as competent; the money is worth the experience there

A calm, welcoming and unpretentious place, where everyone was enjoying their meals and the team were enjoying their work. The food was really delicious; cooked and served with pride.

A very nice surprise! We didn't know Nepalese cuisine at all and were pleasantly surprised. The flavors are original and perfectly balanced. Special mention for the dumplings, a real delight to share! The servers are adorable, very welcoming and attentive throughout the meal. If you're unsure about the menu, let yourself be guided: their recommendations are excellent. We got it for €77 with a plate of dumplings to share, two main courses and four glasses of wine — excellent value for money for an exotic and warm evening. We will come back without hesitation!

As a nepalese, I would say, this place is a Scam for those who are willing to visit there for authentic nepalese food. The prices are too high for the portion they serve and also the taste was not authentic as expected. Highly not recommended!!

Rispetto agli altri locali consigliati ad Amsterdam, Bhatti si merita il primo posto assoluto: pance piene, palati soddisfatti, prezzo inferiore rispetto agli altri locali consigliati. Andare ad Amsterdam e non andare a trovarli è un errore.

Portions not huge but something different and great for a simple meal

I've been here before, and I think my experience was better yet. I ordered Momo's as starter but the waiter advised against, 10 pieces would've been too much! Another 3 pieces momo was better 😉. The main course, a Bhatti Pasal Thalia, I had before but I loved it. If I had space left over after the previous weekend I would've had Yomari as dessert but that will be for a next time! BTW, those that consider this expensive are mistaken!

We ordered: steamed chicken momo dumplings, chilli vegetarian momo dumplings, water buffalo (traditional style), bara, lamb bhatti pasal thali. All were insanely good, such unique flavours.

This is the first time I leave a review about a restaurant, but this place deserves it! From the food to the atmosphere, everything was the most pleasant surprise. We tried Momos, Bara and the Thali, and everything was sooooo good!! The waiters are super nice and available to explain everything and make suggestions. But the best was the Yomari that we’ve been suggested as dessert: we’ll think about it for a long time!

A very cozy place to enjoy this delicious cuisine. The staff is very helpful and the food is delicious and tasty. We’re used to spicy so I’m not the best, but to us it was spicy to the right amount.

The waiter today ruined the whole experience of the place. We went to the restaurant to have chai because we were craving it and found this place to be authentic, we order chai and food for takeout, and after that had asked for a glass of water and the waiter denied stating the restaurant doesn’t serve, while the table besides us(a white couple) were served two glasses. They even recommended we buy a bottle from a shop down the road. The food and chai were really nice but I’d never come back or recommend this place because of the experience. I hope no one has to experience this level of racism. Sincerely, a brown couple from London visiting Amsterdam for the first time.

Delicious authentic food, the flavours were great and the staff was absolutely lovely! We had the chicken noodle soup, chicken pan fried momos and chilli chips - all fantastic! Would definitely recommend.

Authentic Nepali food in a cozy setting. The momos are really good especially with the sesame sauce. The thali is traditional and the staff is really kind. It is also very clean, you can see the kitchen while seated.

It was my first experience with Nepali food. I only knew Momo, so I was excited to see what kind of dishes would be served. It tasted like a mix of Chinese, Indian, and Southeast Asian cuisine, and it was delicious.

It's a really beautiful place. We had never eaten Nepalese before, but the momos were really delicious. We ate every variant. We also ordered the water buffalo, thali, bara and fried rice. With a large group we decided to share everything. But the portions are smaller than we had hoped, except for the momos. So we had to order more than the waitress suggested. It is a beautiful place with delicious food.

A modern Nepali restaurant serving authentic traditional food! I loved the cozy and lovely atmosphere and everything we ordered was delicious! The momos tasted so fresh and homemade. Also loved the water buffalo Sekuwa. The server was so nice, he would explain everything about foods. If you don’t know what you should eat, I would recommend speaking with a server to see what they recommend, otherwise the dishes mentioned here were all fantastic and filling! Highly recommend coming here to venture off the beaten path and try a modern/fancy twist on classic Nepali favorites. Will be back to try the Sherpa Noodle soup next time!

Went in for my Birthday and let’s just say that they made the night a bit more special. The food was wonderful with some amazing options on them. The Momo was fantastic. Very tasty and special. Some dishes very small quantity. No vegetables with the lamb; that was a shame.

Bad service. We were booted out of this restaurant because they made double bookings. It was supposed to be a celebration of my friend's birthday turned sour. After dinner, we were (unkindly) asked to leave the restaurant, and got our desserts cancelled because there were already too many people waiting (as if that was our fault). I just wonder if they would do the same if we were a group of white Dutch people

Nepali authentic taste 👌 We love the chicken thali set and Sekuwa, the taste of these food was so so lekker. Appriciated who made choila for us but for me it was buff meat waa over boiled so didnt get the feel of Man-Choila. All the conclusion: For food and Vibe worth it all. Alles lekker.

Very cozy restaurant with authentic, delicious food and great service. Their open momo are just amazing. I tried Nepalese food first time and really loved it. Momo (steamed dumplings) really reminded me Georgian khinkali but with way thiner and gentle dough. Their meze set is with taste of Indian spices but very mild and special. Enjoyed it a lot. Desert was delicious too. Didn't try their wines, beer was fine. Something to discover next time. And I will definitely come back. To add, atmosphere is very relaxed and cozy, can be dinner with friends or even romantic dinner. Great service and friendly waiters. No long waiting time for food and you can put coats away from your table (that is important personally for me ☺️).

We had a reservation here on Sunday evening right at 5 pm, which is the start of dinner service. Seated very quickly and we knew what to order. We ordered the Kothay (pan fried) Chicken Momos. You can get it with Sesame Sauce (Jhol Achar) or Tomato and Coriander Sauce, we went with the Coriander Sauce. We really liked this, very well cooked, you can see the handcraftedness of the dumpling and the sauce paired well with it. Also the plating was amazing, lots of attention to detail on the coriander sauce. Another dish we got was the Khasi ko Masu (lamb) which is served with dal bhat (lentils and rice) with vegetables and pickles. This dish was ok. Overall the service was nice and food was solid.
