Billy Thai's Restaurant in Jordaan

If you love Thai cuisine, this is the place for you. We returned the next evening because we were so impressed by the quality, freshness, preparation, and incredibly delicious taste. The super friendly and gracious hosts also invite you to return, and the value for money is absolutely fair. Since the restaurant only seats about 25 people and is always very busy, reservations are recommended. By the way, our dog was also very welcome.

We came here on the recommendation of our Airbnb host. We had pad sieuw, wanton soup and massaman curry with onion, potato, cashews and chicken. Yum, yum, yum!!!

I've never had such good pad Thai before. It was very flavorful, fresh, and crunchy. Excellent!

The food is ok. Inside is very small and we were sitting very close to the kitchen, it was really warm.

The place presents itself as a place for authentic Thai food, but the food itself was not really tasty. The Pad Pet came with fried fish soaked in oil. The Pad Si Yu did not have thick rice noodles at all, but hard egg noodles. And the strangest thing - there is no Som Tam on the menu. It felt a bit like Thai food in a mall, and not like a quality restaurant.

Don’t order via ubereats, the pad see ew is not actually pad see ew.

Great thai food, lots of choices. Everything we ate was excellent. Great portions for big eaters, no need for appetizers unless you're starving. We ordered too much... you can share. Super friendly helpful staff.

They sat us without a reservation on a Saturday evening. Service was fast and friendly. Food was absolutely delicious. We had number 21, green currie dish with chicken, red currie with tofu, pad Thai with large prawns.

Had another great meal at Billy Thai. Always super fresh and very nice flavors. The service is super sweet and despite the crowds very patient. Cozy atmosphere! I can promise everyone that you will have a great evening at Billy!

We needed a quick bite before heading out for an event, no reservations, and then our family showed up and Billy understood our situation and handled it perfectly…served us well and got us on our way. Will definitely return.

The best dinner!!! The spring rolls were perfect crispness and size, chicken satay was delicious. We had pad Thai and pad see ew…great flavor and appreciated it wasn’t spicy. Best meal!! Great wait staff!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! We had a fantastic dinner here. We ordered the mixed starters, massaman chicken curry and green prawn curry. Staff was lovely. Ambiance cosy and authentic. And prices very fair :) It struck me that a lot of locals come and are known by name. I took that as a really good sign.

Went twice. Tried different meals on each visit. Enjoyed them both Also, lots of locals were eating there. So, it must rank with them as well When we return to Amsterdam we will call again.

Ah…where to start? The food? Service? Vibes? All incredible! Authentic Thai food in Amsterdam centre, with reasonable prices and an extensive menu. Every dish we tried was superb & we experienced fantastic service all-round. Can’t recommend this spot enough & can’t wait to return soon!

First night in Amsterdam and wanted somewhere to eat which would be local, hassle free and relaxed with good food and this restaurant totally met the bill. We had a Massaman tofu curry and a chicken red Thai curry, both very tasty and in the right amounts. The spring rolls were also delicious. The staff were warm and welcoming and the restaurant itself was full of very happy customers. We loved it.

Spontaneously walked in yesterday and had a delicious meal. It's really good Thai and everything is super fresh. Very hospitable and friendly staff/service. You didn't have to wait long for your food and drinks. Highly recommended!

Small cosy place. We just walked in without a reservation, that was perfectly ok. We sat down and soon we had our drinks. The food was fresh, and delicious. The staff is very attentive and friendly. Definitely a recommendation if you go to Amsterdam, really good food. Both the green and red curry were very tasteful.

Lots of fun and very friendly service. Food is delicious and prices are great. Wonderful location. Really nice wait staff and location at Billy Thais. Right on the Prinsengracht but not in a crowded area, if you can imagine that. We made reservations at the last minute and were welcomed there, because it was obvious they keep a few tables open for last minute calls or walk-ins. My guess is it makes the lucky patrons even happier. Either way, bottom line is a huge selection of Thai dishes, too many to choose from, decent wine and beer selection, cozy atmosphere, great location and service. I highly recommend.

Excellent food but really rude waiter. We came in with a friend to order take away, not being in any rush ourselves. The waiter made us feel like we were bothering him and rushing him. Told us really rudly that he was busy with his customers when we asked to pay separately. Aren’t we customers ourselves ? Or do we have to seat to be treated with respect here ? I am myself a waiter in a really big restaurant with 70tables, i know and understand the pressure you can have, but i would never allow myself to speak like that to my customers. Overall a bad experience, it is too bad because the food was excellent on the orher side

One of the best Thai food restaurants in Amsterdam. Food was really delicious and service was great. It has a cosy atmosphere, and a very rich menu.

Have been a loyal customer here since they opened I was treated rudely by the owner tonight. Annoyed and curt all the time Got a dish I didn't want. No chance to order anything else. He came up with all kinds of arguments This is grossly scandalous. I go out for fun. Fried rice was way too sweet Not tasty

Cosy and nice place. But sugar level is little high in all dishes. The waiter guy is very high self confident. Be careful he can beat you up 😄

Great welcome, there were 7 of us and we were kindly offered a table at 9 p.m. The service was impeccable, fast and the food was very good. We had a great time, I highly recommend this restaurant. It is best to reserve.

Waiter said it was against the rules to serve tap water in Amsterdam which is a complete lie.

My mum and I felt very comfortable here. The service was extremely courteous and the food was terrific. The house wine was excellent, which pleasantly surprised me.

Nice cozy place, food is very good and friendly service. A bit on the pricy side (compared to other Thai restaurants) portion wise. I guess that's due to the location, but would go again if I'm near.

disappointing taste, portions and ingredients cheap small vannamei shrimps in the thai basil shrimps beef red curry without the red curry sauce i expexted and too much adjusted to local plain taste. more than 40 euro per person but still hungry afterwards.

Original Thai restaurant, excellent selected dishes, generous portions and prices in line with Amsterdam. The restaurant is also located in a very nice location and the interior is very cozy. Advised

Después de estar en Grecia durante 10 días, estaba ansioso por algo que no fuera comida griega. Un lugareño recomendó Billy y tengo que decirle que no decepcionó. Fui con amigos que nunca antes habían tenido Thai y estaban un poco nerviosos. La comida era increíble. Generosas porciones, la cantidad correcta de especias y tan frescas. Estábamos en un apuro por una cita, pero me gustaría que nos hubiéramos quedado más tiempo y comimos más!

¡El mejor tailandés que he tenido! Mi novia y yo caminamos a Billy’s y tenemos que decir que la comida era tan buena! He estado en muchos lugares de Tailandia y esto lo supera

It's a very friendly little restaurant where the food is excellent. The portions are such that two of us ate on one dish. We are fans of Thai cuisine and we highly recommend Billy Thai's Restaurant.

Food was super tasty and took me back to Thailand, how it tasted there. We had the green curry with tofu, shrimp and yellow curry. Large portions and you can ask for extra rice. Cozy interior and friendly staff. We will be back!

The taste is very good and the portion is sufficient. Only the Tom Yum soup is too small, but it is still delicious and authentic.

Delicious little hole in the wall Thai restaurant. Highly recommend if looking for authentic Thai foods. There was a bit of a wait as the restaurant is small, but it was well worth the wait. We ordered the Penang curry, pad Thai, and fried rice.

We're amazed how good and authentic the Thai food was, definitely one of their neighborhood gems and it was so close to our hotel.

This is an excellent Thai restaurant located in the center of Amsterdam. Family cuisine full of flavors with very good fresh products. I particularly recommend the coconut soups which are delicious. It's rare that a restaurant offers coconut soups this good. The dishes are also delicious. We were very well received with lots of kindness and smiles. A beautiful family atmosphere where we want you to discover and appreciate typical Thai dishes. We had an excellent evening. It's nice to still find a quality restaurant in the center of Amsterdam that isn't a tourist restaurant. I therefore enthusiastically recommend Billy Thai's restaurant.

Great tent! Delicious soup and super main course. I have visited many different Thai restaurants. But this one will definitely be in the top ten.

You could walk right past it... small but nice. Extensive menu, from spicy to mild. Meat and vegetarian.

Honestly what yummy food!! We enjoyed all of it! We were too hungry to start with so we devoured the starters, we got the mixed platter and loved the fish cakes!! From the main meal the pad Thai for my favourite. It was super delicious light and with the chilli sauce on the side it was abs perfect. The panang curry was super delicious as well!

Heerlijk gegeten ik was hier lang geleden ook al eens geweest. Nog steeds goed en betaalbaar eten hier. Wel vooraf reserveren want het is een klein restaurant en er zijn maar een beperkt aantal tafels.

Arrived I’m Amsterdam. Jet lagged but wanted to see the sights and craving Thai food. Had been here previously and food was good. Stopped by this trip with no reservation and they were able to seat us around 6pm. Excellent meal. The menu is vast, so lots of options. Beef fried rice and chicken with cashews were delicious. The atmosphere is not necessarily the best, and it’s small. But as some one said in previous review - that is Amsterdam! Excellent and friendly service and yummy food.
