A bit of an odd place. Absolutely fantastic food. Nothing more to add. But listen: why on earth is the air conditioning on when it's -1°C outside? I don't get it. It wasn't supposed to be off. I was having a nice bite to eat with two friends on Boxing Day, I made a joke, my friends laughed out loud, and we were shhhed out of the kitchen. And the place was empty. Explain that. No, for the atmosphere and experience, this is not the place to be.

Everything is delicious, if you come during the cold season I recommend the Shrimp Tom Ka Soup, the best I've ever had.

Our experience at this restaurant was disappointing. While the food was acceptable, the service felt unfriendly and unwelcoming, and we were left with the impression that customers are rushed rather than hosted. Communication was abrupt, there was little flexibility, and overall we did not feel comfortable or valued as guests. For us, the price and experience did not match the quality, which gave the place the feel of a tourist trap rather than a restaurant focused on hospitality. Amsterdam offers many excellent Thai restaurants with warmer service and better value. Unfortunately, this was not one of them.

The food was fine, but what was quite strange was the fact that you're supposed to leave immediately after eating – nobody says so, but when I wanted to drink my tea in peace, the bill arrived unprompted, and two minutes later someone was there to collect payment. (I wasn't even asked if I wanted anything else.) I was sitting alone at a table for two; apparently, that doesn't bring in enough money…

The place is very small and you should make a reservation before going. The food was sooo good and they were able to make their pad thai gluten free! Even though this place is in a touristy area, I would definitely go back because the food was absolutely delicious

I am posting this review because I had posted on TripAdvisor previously, and instead apologizing for the poor experience, they responded by accusing me of posting a ridiculous review full of lies. We are a couple and we were looking for a nice place to have some Thai food on a Saturday night. When we entered asking if there was a table for two available, we were told to wait 5 minutes. So, we waited outside. Another couple were leaving, so we chatted to them about their meal and we asked what they would recommend. After a few minutes, we went inside again and we were aggressively waved away and told they were closed. I was left quite shocked and confused. At most, we had maybe been 7-8 minutes, but also nobody had mentioned to us that the table was ready, or not ready. So, I don't know what happened here. But, I was mostly surprised at the anger and aggressiveness, as if we had done something horribly wrong. I posted this on TripAdvisor, and instead of receiving an apology, I was accused of lying. Why would I make this up? So, I repeat. Do not go here. It's not authentic Thai food, the staff are dreadful (I have been to Thailand, and people are not like that there), and if you want to be aggressively waved away for absolutely no reason at all, well this is your place! We were quite upset by this, and also very hungry. Thankfully, there are many better options for Thai food, and we went to Thaise Snackbar Bird nearby. The staff were fantastic there, and chatted to us quite a lot. We told them about what happened (and they didn't accuse us of lying). Little Thai Prince (maybe replace the word "Prince" with something else). Also, I want to add that on Tripadvisor they respond to everyone's negative reviews with more rude responses and denials, instead of simply apologizing. I have been to Thailand, and I certainly never met anyone like this there. Shocking people, and a shocking place. -100 stars, if possible. It almost ruined our night. They should have paid me to eat there and I would have still said no. So glad we didn't actually get to eat any of their disgusting food.

Whenever I go to Amsterdam, I'll definitely be here. It's worth queuing for, even at busy times. Delicious, even for vegan food. This time we limited ourselves to Thai soup ❤️

This place is fantastic! Being from America, a lot of restaurants take absolutely forever. This was not only so fast, it was some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had and the service was very good! They were kind and went along with all of our request. Highly recommend the fried noodles and green curry!

As someone who makes it a personal mission to sniff out Asian food whenever I’m abroad—especially from places boldly claiming “authenticity”—I approached Little Thai Prince with cautious optimism. Verdict? For continental Europe, this is as good as it gets. I went for the Green Curry Pork with rice, and while it’s not exactly Bangkok-in-a-bowl, it’s authentic enough to earn my repeat business. Having grown up with Thai food on my plate and in my DNA, I could easily call myself a Thai food “connoisseur” (read: picky eater with a good memory). And yes, by my very biased, sauce-stained standards, this one passes with flying colors—and a hint of lemongrass.

Delicious food at this Thai restaurant. Unfortunately, it's very much like what you see in Amsterdam: small tables, little space to move around, and the urge to leave as quickly as possible after you've finished your meal for the next round. The cleanliness could also be much better. But I can't fault the quantity and quality of the food.

For over 25 years, the most delicious Thai food on the Zeedijk. We used to eat here when I worked at Cock & Feathers. It's a shame Halsema doesn't allow them a patio.

We visited this cute little Thai restaurant during our five-night stay in Amsterdam and absolutely loved it. We walked by two nights in a row and noticed it was always packed, with people waiting outside—unlike nearby places that were nearly empty. That alone told us it was worth a try. We ordered the green curry with chicken (served with rice) and the prawn pad Thai. Both were excellent—full of flavor and absolutely delicious. The green curry was a bit spicy, which we could handle, but those sensitive to spice might want to ask for it mild. The staff were super friendly, the atmosphere was warm and cozy, and the prices were very reasonable. Highly recommend if you're looking for great Thai food in Amsterdam!

Good authentic Thai dishes in a little restaurant (the name says it). No site, but the restaurant is filled. I got a place after a few minutes and ordered Tom Yung Kung and Thai green curry with chicken. As I read here in another review "they are not shy on the spices" - and that's how it should be!

In May, I went to the Netherlands for the first time and came across a Thai restaurant in the city of Amsterdam. There was no need to wait for a seat when dining at 9pm. Judging from the decoration and the accent of the boss, it should be opened by Thai. My friend and I ordered Thai red curry chicken and fried chicken with Thai chili sauce (I used the phone to translate the correct dishes, but I'm not sure). They tasted very good and felt quite authentic. The dining environment was not bad either. My friend said that Thai restaurants in Europe are all of very high quality, and this one is one of the top three restaurants I ate in this European trip. The average price of a meal is about 20 Euros.

We were looking for a restaurant and decided to gamble on this one. It turned out very well. Delicious food with lots of options. Even for the vegetarians among us. We ordered egg rolls which were excellent and a main course for each including a drink. It was a real pleasure.

We ordered fish cakes, which came out a little sweet, and the chicken tom yum was okay. Stir-fried beef with chili paste and pork with basil is delicious. Yummy Thai food!

This place is sooooo tiny! lol it's only about 8-9 tables in the restaurant, they open promptly at 5pm and the tables fill up very fast! I travel to Amsterdam about once a month and I find myself coming into the restaurant everytime! The food is very flavorful and the staff is extremely friendly! It's a tiny restaurant with the smallest kitchen I've seen but what really matters (the food and service) is great. I had spring rolls which seemed home made and a prawn pad thai which was one of the best I've had. The service was fast, friendly and conscientious from the moment we arrived. I'll be back.

Walking around and came across this little gem. Seating tight but comfortable. You can tell that regular customers or the local community come back. The portion size was large but filled a big belly. Food hot and freshly made. Service was friendly and quick

Wilden Thais eten, maar overal stonden rijen voor de deur. Zo zijn wij terecht gekomen bij de Little Thai Prince en dat overtrof al onze verwachtingen. Ruime keuze, vriendelijke bediening, overheerlijk eten en aantrekkelijk geprijsd! Komen hier zeker terug!

Foood is amazing.. I went for the second time.. The only issue I have with this restaurant is the staffs.. They are rude and not smiling.. He told me there is no table abd the ones empty are booked. Dear owner, I understand that a group of 8 people could seem overwhelming. However, my negative assessment is a direct result how we were treated by your staff. The staff spoke to us through a crack in the door, in an unpleasant and rude manner, not aiming to resolve the situation but rather to get rid of us, which I directly perceived as the message 'we do not want you here.' Eventually closing the door just in front of us. The assessment could not have been different.

Always a warm welcome in this small but very good restaurant! The charming and very good chef is always at his best! He is always friendly and brings the tastiest fresh dishes to your table from the open kitchen. The ladies give the atmosphere a cozy and personal touch! I saw all the great reviews so my friend and I came here to eat. It doesn't open until 5 so we came right when it opened, and it filled up really quickly within 30 minutes! Lots of locals were eating here which is a good sign. The inside was clean and nicely decorated. I ordered Tom yum kun (spicy soup with shrimp) and squid and it was so delicious, very spicy but not too spicy. I also got the pad thai and it was so good. The service was great, everyone was nice. Overall it was a great dining experience. It was probably the best food I have had in Amsterdam (and also the cleanest restaurant in Amsterdam too)!

Spectacular food. It is the most similar we have tried since we traveled to Thailand.

What a delightful place! The food was excellent and the service was even better! There were so many options ….and I ate here and got an order for takeaway to have tomorrow. I arrived shortly after they opened and there were already 2 tables occupied. After 30 minutes, the place was packed with people. It’s small… it’s busy… and it is well worth getting here whenever you can. Service is super fast so you can be in and out very quickly. It’s my top recommendation in all of Amsterdam!!!!

A little too salty but otherwise delicious.

Busy little place but I got the last remaining table. The food is delicious and the serving is swift. There’s a lot to choose from, but I settled for green curry. The spice level here is low perhaps adjusted to the local palate. I actually appreciate it because I was able to get into the flavors more and not be overwhelmed by spicy taste.

26-06-2024 I've been here a number of times now and the food is delicious. The restaurant is small and modestly decorated. I think it leans more towards an eatery than a restaurant. Reservations are not required here, if there is room you can sit down and enjoy the food. I always take the Tod Man Pla. Sometimes you get those standard round factory things from the wholesaler. Certainly not here. They are wonderfully fresh, juicy and not greasy at all. A little further down they are slightly larger but a lot oilier. I like this one better. The chicken in Thai sambal and shrimp in red curry were also really tasty. The portions are fine, but if you are very hungry, take something extra. This is not necessary further on, where the portions are larger. Do I prefer to come there or here? Here!!! The food here is slightly more refined, slightly tastier and a bit more expensive. Big disappointment...the tea for 2 people. Two tea bags in the same pot. Everywhere on the Zeedijk you get more at a much lower price.

5/5 on everything. Quality of food is great, decent prices. The restaurant is small and intimate with 13 double tables, but this is perfect for great service.

Regular stop on every visit to Amsterdam, delicious food. It is actually always full in my experience so reservations are recommended. No place to sit for hours, but more of a quick (tasty) bite and back into the city!

Como entrada consigo el pollo Pad Thai y siempre es bueno. Mi esposa pidió el Pad Sie Ieuw con pollo y le encantó. Cada viaje a Amsterdam incluye una parada en el pequeño príncipe tailandés.

Lovely food. The starters were good and the mains were excellent. The service was friendly and spontaneous. The food was slightly pricier and there was no air-conditioning or fans in hot weather. They even charged 2 euro for empty boxes....ridiculous!

Little Thai Prince had been our go to Thai restaurant in Amsterdam since 2016. Their dishes stack up with the food one enjoys so much in Bangkok and Chiang Mai. The green and red curries are mouth watering and the fish cakes, satay and Tom Kha Gai coconut soup with shrimp are superb. If their tables are full, wait, it’s worth it.

My massaman curry was average at best. Way too sweet and the chicken was gristly in several places. I found it really too expensive - also for the location! Just under €20 for a curry is steep, then it has to taste authentic.
