Little Thai Prince in Burgwallen-Oude Zijde

It's a tiny restaurant with the smallest kitchen I've seen but what really matters (the food and service) is great. I had spring rolls which seemed home made and a prawn pad thai which was one of the best I've had. The service was fast, friendly and conscientious from the moment we arrived. I'll be back.

The feeling is like eating in Thailand. 🌀 The Thai food menu has a variety. Ordered 3 dishes. The dishes were very large. Every dish tasted delicious in Thai style. (Just a little bit. Walking around and came across this little gem. Seating tight but comfortable. You can tell that regular customers or the local community come back. The portion size was large but filled a big belly. Food hot and freshly made. Service was friendly and quick

Nice staff but the food really didn't blow my mind. I had a bad stomach ache after the fish cake , was that a normal reaction? And the chicken in sour sauce just tasted like chicken in ketchup

Wilden Thais eten, maar overal stonden rijen voor de deur. Zo zijn wij terecht gekomen bij de Little Thai Prince en dat overtrof al onze verwachtingen. Ruime keuze, vriendelijke bediening, overheerlijk eten en aantrekkelijk geprijsd! Komen hier zeker terug!

Delicious Tom yam kung (spicy shrimp soup) and pad Thai. Smooth service and nice service.

Foood is amazing.. I went for the second time.. The only issue I have with this restaurant is the staffs.. They are rude and not smiling.. He told me there is no table abd the ones empty are booked. I went to another restaurant and the way back passed by the restaurant.. Moat of the tables are empty!!! He could tell me to wait or he can being friendly.. So rude

One of the best Pad Thais I’ve ever had in my life! The portion size is great. The egg rolls are decent, though not the best in my opinion. A bit more on the expensive side.

The food was delicious. It was very hot and tasty. Came out on time. Had plenty of options. Have spicy fish sauce on the side if you want to take it up a notch on the spice. Quantity is perfect too. Not too small or not too much.

Dear owner, I understand that a group of 8 people could seem overwhelming. However, my negative assessment is a direct result how we were treated by your staff. The staff spoke to us through a crack in the door, in an unpleasant and rude manner, not aiming to resolve the situation but rather to get rid of us, which I directly perceived as the message 'we do not want you here.' Eventually closing the door just in front of us. The assessment could not have been different.

Always a warm welcome in this small but very good restaurant! The charming and very good chef is always at his best! He is always friendly and brings the tastiest fresh dishes to your table from the open kitchen. The ladies give the atmosphere a cozy and personal touch! The fact that this restaurant has been running well for years says more than enough about the quality and hospitality! Highly recommended! 😘👑😘👑😘👑

Delicious food! Very good ones Pad Thai.

I saw all the great reviews so my friend and I came here to eat. It doesn't open until 5 so we came right when it opened, and it filled up really quickly within 30 minutes! Lots of locals were eating here which is a good sign. The inside was clean and nicely decorated. I ordered Tom yum kun (spicy soup with shrimp) and squid and it was so delicious, very spicy but not too spicy. I also got the pad thai and it was so good. The service was great, everyone was nice. Overall it was a great dining experience. It was probably the best food I have had in Amsterdam (and also the cleanest restaurant in Amsterdam too)!

Spectacular food. It is the most similar we have tried since we traveled to Thailand.

What a delightful place! The food was excellent and the service was even better! There were so many options ….and I ate here and got an order for takeaway to have tomorrow. I arrived shortly after they opened and there were already 2 tables occupied. After 30 minutes, the place was packed with people. It’s small… it’s busy… and it is well worth getting here whenever you can. Service is super fast so you can be in and out very quickly. It’s my top recommendation in all of Amsterdam!!!!

No te vayas. Personal muy grosero. Nos dijeron que esperáramos 4 minutos, así que empezamos a hablar con alguien que acaba de salir de lo que comieron, y hablamos durante tal vez 5 minutos. Luego intentamos entrar de nuevo y nos dijeron que estaban cerrados, y que habían estado abiertos pero luego empezamos a hablar. Realmente no sé por qué lo hicieron. ¡Muy grosero! No te molestes en ir. Parecía una mierda. No es auténtico.

A little too salty but otherwise delicious.

Busy little place but I got the last remaining table. The food is delicious and the serving is swift. There’s a lot to choose from, but I settled for green curry. The spice level here is low perhaps adjusted to the local palate. I actually appreciate it because I was able to get into the flavors more and not be overwhelmed by spicy taste.

Super attentive service and delicious food. Loved the appie sampler and curry dishes. Good portions, too. Highly recommend, we’ll be back!

26-06-2024 I've been here a number of times now and the food is delicious. The restaurant is small and modestly decorated. I think it leans more towards an eatery than a restaurant. Reservations are not required here, if there is room you can sit down and enjoy the food. I always take the Tod Man Pla. Sometimes you get those standard round factory things from the wholesaler. Certainly not here. They are wonderfully fresh, juicy and not greasy at all. A little further down they are slightly larger but a lot oilier. I like this one better. The chicken in Thai sambal and shrimp in red curry were also really tasty. The portions are fine, but if you are very hungry, take something extra. This is not necessary further on, where the portions are larger. Do I prefer to come there or here? Here!!! The food here is slightly more refined, slightly tastier and a bit more expensive. Big disappointment...the tea for 2 people. Two tea bags in the same pot. Everywhere on the Zeedijk you get more at a much lower price.

5/5 on everything. Quality of food is great, decent prices. The restaurant is small and intimate with 13 double tables, but this is perfect for great service.

Regular stop on every visit to Amsterdam, delicious food. It is actually always full in my experience so reservations are recommended. No place to sit for hours, but more of a quick (tasty) bite and back into the city!

¡Mi lugar favorito fuera del Reino! Pido el pollo Satay y el Tom Ka Kai como aperitivo. Ambos son muy buenos y el tamaño de la porción es generoso en la sopa. Como entrada consigo el pollo Pad Thai y siempre es bueno. Mi esposa pidió el Pad Sie Ieuw con pollo y le encantó. Cada viaje a Amsterdam incluye una parada en el pequeño príncipe tailandés.

Lovely food. The starters were good and the mains were excellent. The service was friendly and spontaneous. The food was slightly pricier and there was no air-conditioning or fans in hot weather. They even charged 2 euro for empty boxes....ridiculous!

Delicious food, nice staff, and warm atmosphere.

Little Thai Prince had been our go to Thai restaurant in Amsterdam since 2016. Their dishes stack up with the food one enjoys so much in Bangkok and Chiang Mai. The green and red curries are mouth watering and the fish cakes, satay and Tom Kha Gai coconut soup with shrimp are superb. If their tables are full, wait, it’s worth it.

My massaman curry was average at best. Way too sweet and the chicken was gristly in several places. I found it really too expensive - also for the location! Just under €20 for a curry is steep, then it has to taste authentic.

We ate there twice in the evening during our 3-day stay in Amsterdam. Delicious! Nice service! A bit small and “kitschy” furnished, which unfortunately makes it a bit noisy. But it's made up for by the food.

As a Thai person, this restaurant really nailed it. At 6pm on Monday the restaurant was full so better make a reservation or come early. The food was authentic and really super satisfying, strong flavours with real thai spice. Highly recommend the somtam. However price-wise it was on the higher side. We have been to 3 thai restaurants in Amsterdam and this is the most expensive. They charged us 19.50Euros for thai omelette (ouch).

The dishes were excellent and very generous. They don't put too many chili peppers but offer chili sauce on the side. A nice place to eat lunch.

Pretty crowded place and the owner tried to fit everybody in. Food was good though hence 4/5 overall.

Excellent find. There's only around 22 covers which get filled up at peak time (around 6.00 -7.00) so either book or be prepared to wait outside (no room for indoor waiting); or go later. Really good Thai food and more than reasonably priced (2 mains with rice and a bottle of wine for €61). The portion sizes are very good too - if you're feeling peckish, order a starter or supplement the main with a side dish, otherwise you'll be fine with just a main. Highly recommend 👍

Very good restaurant, fair prices

Honestly our favorite dinner while in Amsterdam. We stumbled in here by chance while looking for some food. It's tiny inside but we got a seat right away on a Saturday night. The wonton soup and the sweet and sour chicken with vegetables were sooo good.

I remember having eaten here a couple of years ago and left a raving review for that visit (this is an edited review - the original is left below). Came back with my gf.. but my high expectations based on memory .. unfortunately weren't met this time. Quite the opposite. Perhaps there's a new cook (?) but either way, gone was the freshness of the food and the balance of ingredients and carefully calibrated spiciness that I found to be so striking and tasteful first time around. The soup tasted ok but - as with the main courses - it did not give the "wow I taste fresh ingredients- sensation" I remember getting the first time. It seemed great when we read the dishes on the menu, but when it was presented .. and tasted.. not so much. Chicken drenched in orange sauce that had an overpowering taste of cream.. sprinkled with peanuts. I ordered something with shrimps.. but with only 1 in it, it made up for a disappointing dish as well. The shrimp dish was supposed to be spicy with the two pepper symbol on the menu card; but when the spiciness is defined by your willingness to eat big chunks of red pepper lazily thrown in food that isn't that spicy .. there's a commitment to making food taste good.. that's lacking. Even if the prices were incredibly low - which they weren't - , I would not be happy with what I ate here.. but the - perhaps inevitable but certainly noticeable - price increase.. made me evaluate things even less forgivingly. On top of all that; the food didn't digest well at all and I was happy to be home not much later.. eh.. let me put it like that. For the record, below is my initial positive (5*) review from 2 years ago. Didn't expect it in a part of town that is full of tourist traps but this is hands down the best Thai in town!. The food tasted fresh and was made with care and attention for balance in flavors.. it tastes rich, with the right amount of spiciness (the waiter asked for the preferred level of it so you can go overboard if you want/dare haha). My table mate agreed with me wholeheartedly so this turned out to be a great start of the evening. The price is also as honest as the food; no inflated bs... just excellent food in a vibrant part of town. The place is small and can't accommodate large groups.. but do check them out if you have the chance.

Een klein maar bijzonder Thais restaurantje aan de Zeedijk te Amsterdam. Heerlijke Thaise gerechten tegen hele redelijke prijzen. Voor een hoofdgerecht betaal je ongeveer 18.50 euro. De menukaart staat vol met heerlijke gerechten. Een restaurantje waar je zeker eens moet gaan eten 🍽 Voor de tweede keer geweest en zeker niet de laatste keer!

Les plats étaient bons en revanche il y a deux points très négatifs : la serveuse est extrêmement désagréable et ils ne servent pas d’eau (même du robinet) si on ne commande pas une boisson de la carte.. plutôt honteux. Boire de l’eau est un besoin primaire non ?

Food wasn't taste and the stew wasn't thick as it should be. It was like water.I was a bit afraid for food poisoning in that place but hopefully we are good. The service was bad. They didn't change our cutlery after finished our starters. Atmosphere...you cannot breath in that place..

Really great food. We were in a rush and there was a table so we took it. And we were so happy we did! Everything was so fresh and delicious. We tried a soup a rice dish and a chicken sticks dish and all were wonderful. Def would recommend!

Very nice little restaurant right next to central station. We had to wait about 15 minutes to sit down as the restaurant was full but that's only the sign of the success this place deserves. The meal was excellent, the staff very nice and the prices decent. We really enjoyed our time there. We recommend the Little Thai Prince

Voor de vierde keer hier gegeten toen we in Amsterdam waren. We waren tijdens de gay pride. Dus een iets kleinere kaart en een feestje buiten maar weer erg lekker gegeten.
