Ended up here by chance and they certainly didn't disappoint. Delicious Thai food, even the less standard dishes. Large/good portions, delicious in taste. And spicy is really nice and spicy. Friendly service and decor as you would expect from a Thai restaurant. Recommended and I will definitely come back.

Really the wrong choice. Little atmosphere and very touristy. The service was friendly, but rather overcooked. The food was really mediocre. My main course arrived cold. That was then solved by warming it up in the microwave, I guess? Unfortunately, our appetite had now worn off. We paid and left. A disappointing experience.

As a local this is my go to spot whenever I’m craving Thai food! Located right in the city center and serves the best Thai food in Amsterdam. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. My favorite dishes that I highly recommend are the Thom Ka Kai and Pad Thai, but the Green Curry is also fantastic.

Had a craving for Thai food so amidst the fries and kebab stores, this seemed promising. It was nice to see and feel Thai atmosphere as most of the waiters were Thai. The waitress, true to Thai style, was attentive, friendly, and engaging. The food, however, was a little on the pricy side. That notwithstanding I would say 'mai phed mai aroi' which is Thai for 'not spicy-not delicious' which pretty much sums up most of the food served there, which is tuned for the European palette. The 'som tum' or papaya salad was listed under the Isaan or north eastern section of the menu so I had hoped it would be authentic but sadly it wasn't. Please be brave and serve authentic Isaan food so that everyone can experience it! I went there because of a craving but wouldn't go there if you are looking for authentic Thai food.

There is a large red sign with the shop's name written on it that can be seen from far away. 🌟 Thai food menu has a variety. Order beef stir-fried basil, beef green curry, fried chicken wings. Every dish tastes delicious Thai style. It has a slightly sweet taste. But the restaurant uses good quality meat to serve. The plate is big and full. It is considered worth the price paid. 🌟 All store employees are Thai. Good service, cute The atmosphere in the shop is warm and friendly. The shop also plays Thai music. I really like it. I wouldn't dine there again and I am not sure why this place is so popular. People are queuing outside to get some "authentic" Thai food, but I travelled around Thailand, and I can tell that their dishes aren't as good as in Thailand. They made Pad thai too oily and sweet. I couldn't eat it because it was making me sick. Tom Yum was nowhere near as good as in Thailand. Waiters forgot to bring our coffee. And their meals are very expensive. Don't recommend this place. They only thing I liked was Tom Ka Kai.

We had the best ever Thai dinner I could asked for in Europe. My friend (she is Thai) made the order. Thai tea, Singha beer, Som Tam Thai, Massaman Curry, Chicken Cashew und Shrimps with Garlic. It was a blast! Lived in Thailand myself. Very delicious place. 3 years after my last visit I recently went here again. We had Massaman Gai, Paneng Nua and a seafood salad. It was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed our dinner so much. It isn't the cheapest place but worth any penny. Loved it.

I recently dined at this restaurant and, unfortunately, had a very uncomfortable experience. When I politely asked about the payment process after not being seated, the staff member responded with hostility, making remarks about Americans being ‘nasty’ and having ‘horrible attitudes.’ Another customer even stepped in to tell him that his behavior was inappropriate, which speaks volumes. As a person of color, I couldn’t help but feel that his aggression may have been directed at me due to my background, especially when he told me to ‘make American bread,’ implying that I wasn’t welcome. If you’re a person of color or just someone who values respectful service, I would strongly advise against visiting this place. I hope they reflect on their approach to customer service to ensure all guests feel welcome and respected.

Our best dinner experience in Amsterdam. We really enjoyed the food. Big portions, you can easily ask to get any leftovers with you. Not too spicy, but definitely very tasteful. It looks a bit like a food factory though. You get served very quickly and there is quite a queue at the entrance waiting to take your table. Friendly and efficient service as well. Reasonably priced as well.

I live in Amsterdam and came here several times and I was happy about the food but last week I came and I ordered a PAD THAI and I was shock when the food came and the dish had tomato sauce..! Pad Thai with tomate sauce? I told them but they didn’t react. What a pity. Definitely I will never come back or recommend.

Ate here yesterday. Dish on the table 2 minutes after ordering. Noodles were swimming in grease and the chicken had a strange taste. It's still on my stomach today. When paying, the tip was not enough according to the cashier...never again!

Order for the table: wings- undercooked/raw, pad Thai- watery, no flavor; Tom yum soup- made from sauce packet. Green curry- lacked flavor. Overall a poor quality restaurant. And the server insisted a hefty tip at payment l, unreasonable

The interior is pleasant and atmospheric. The food is tasty and very spicy (I liked the tom yam with mushrooms and shrimps). The service is fast but not high-quality (ordered two soups, brought one and said that the second one was still being prepared).

The menus offered are good, a little spicy and not very filling. The welcome at the entrance is smiling but the waiter makes us understand that he is there to make money and for the service to go quickly. They do not serve as a water jug. The bill is ultimately a little steep for what it is. But we are in the center of Amsterdam, on the edge of the central canal, so we understand.

Delicious Thai restaurant in Chinatown. Hearty main dishes to share for up to three people each. We ordered beef with sprouts in oyster sauce and a pork pad thai. The price-quality ratio is excellent. The only but is that you are left wanting to try dessert and there is none because the captain tells us that Thai desserts require a lot of preparation time and they do not have the ingredients most of the year. A shame. I would have solved it by offering some type of Western dessert.

Seldom eaten so badly. I had duck in red curry sauce. The food was served in a soup bowl. It already looked unappetizing. Like leftovers from other plates. The duck pieces were chewy, hard and cold. The vegetables are mushy. Overall, everything is far too cold. The food was also on the table suspiciously quickly. My mother had the prawns in sweet and sour sauce. Their food was a touch better. Nothing at all is a revelation. Therefore never again. I can only strongly advise against it. Too bad about the money.

The beautiful staircase and the furnishings are already very special and you haven't even seen the map. My girlfriend who came over from Africa didn't know these itches yet. The fish cakes were very popular. As a main course she had the pla Katlam Prik Thai (dorade) deliciously spicy and I had the chicken fillet (kal) in the same way. Completely happy and excited about the great service, the atmosphere and the flavors, we left the restaurant towards our hotel. A winner in Amsterdam.

Thai restaurant with very good value for money, in the red light district. The staff is very friendly. The noodles and chicken satay are very good. They adapt dishes for celiacs.

Wow! We learned of The Bird Thais Restaurant from someone we were chatting with at another patio location in Amsterdam. She said it was a MUST, and she was not wrong! This restaurant is set in an old building with an upper floor and main floor seating. We were seated upstairs. You may end up sharing a table with an other group, or you may end up with your own table, but the food is AMAZING! The curry dishes are to 'die for' :-). My husband and I ordered a couple of different options and then shared them. A bit of advice. . . . this place gets super busy (cause they are that good lol) and do not take reservations. As our gal told us, just go anyways. You can always grab a drink from the bar and they will find you a table as quick as they can so your wait is never too long. We went a bit early for dinner and the place filled very quickly behind us. The Bird is located in the Chinatown district of Amsterdam so lots to see in the area as well. Do not miss out on this place if you have the chance and enjoy great Thai food!

Restaurant in very poor condition, disgusting toilets with poop from the previous customer, construction noise, impossible to eat in peace, hair in my dish several times and what's more, they are trying to rip me off on the price by telling me that they have added extras without asking me, in short, I really don't recommend it!!!!! 😡

This Thai restaurant is clearly o er the top. We ate Massaman chicken and Krapaow Kai. Two typical Thai dishes for many many years. But totally ruined. Just tasteless. The Krapaow missed the Holy basil which is the basic off this dish. Some long beans and a unidentified tasteless sauce. Not spice. Its more difficult make it terrible than to cook this typical streetfood dish. The Massaman same taste like the Krapaow so i think they using a standard sause. The orginal sause must be thicker and not so flawless. Yes they put some cashewnuts in both the dishes but these must be in the famous Himmapaan chicken dish! The vegetables in the Massaman and Krapouw not even wodth to be mentioned. Even the rice was not the smelly and thicker rice. I think the Bird obviously flew away and hopefully found a new home

We tried a few of their vegetarian options, namely the pad krapow, stir fried noodles, and green curry. We really liked the noodles and curry. Be sure to ask for some hot sauce while you are there.

Very good dish. Very pleasant waitress and waiter. Fast service and beautiful decoration. It's a shame that the starters are not homemade but the rest was able to satisfy us.

Food eh, was not happy when I asked for tap water and was given a bottle(therefore charged) but the icing was to ask for uneaten food to take with me and was charged for the container. Food was not as flavorful as I had hoped so will not return

The best Thai in Amsterdam. I can go there everyday. I always order something vegan, and they are able to do that. Last time they forgot to take out the egg and made me a new one immediately. Staff is super friendly. Food is 10/10. Authentic flavors and fresh ingredients. You haven’t been to Zeedijk if you didn’t visit this gem!
