The worst pad Thai I’ve ever had. Not a single vegetable was mixed in and the noodles were over cooked and covered with ground pepper.

This so-called Thai restaurant is an absolute disgrace. I don’t usually leave reviews, but it’s important for everyone to know that you will not find the food you expect from a Thai restaurant here. I ordered a Pad Thai which, in reality, wasn’t one at all — not even close. The noodles were stuck together like concrete, there were absolutely no spices, no peanuts, no lime, no bean sprouts, and no egg. And what did I get instead? Some blackish, fatty chicken I didn’t even dare to touch, bell peppers, and a ridiculous amount of onions. Considering this dish is supposed to be their specialty, I can’t imagine what the rest of the menu looks like. All that for an outrageous price. It’s a total lack of respect for customers to serve dishes like this.

Pad Thai wasn't quite as it should be—no peanuts, few vegetables, no egg, etc. It's a real shame for the price. The fish cakes were okay.

I came in desperate with special needs related to food allergies. Not only did I get a special dish, prepared specifically for me, but it was delicious.

Absolutely fantastic. Best pad Thai I’ve had In a long time. Panaang was great as well. Only critique was the peanut sauce on the chicken satay tasted a bit off. It could have just been personal preference.

Never a miss! Absolutely love this place. Service is at peak value, friendly and with a big smile. Food is amazing as always. I like it hot, they can make it HOT! =) Ideal for take-away or delivery. Eating-in is also an option, but the place is quite small and sometimes fully packed.

Order food at this place and it was BELLOW average, to say the least. Among other things we orderd 'mixed thai snacks', half the snacks weren't even Thai, and they certainly weren't fresh. Won't be ordering here again!

Best Thai I’ve ever had at this hidden gem. We wanted a break from frites and stroopwaffels. Our meals (chicken cashew and beef madman) both had loads of veggies and meals and rice were huge portions. If we’re back in Amsterdam, we’ll definitely come here for a hearty, healthy meal. Service was also 10/10, quick and friendly.

Hidden away but so so good! We had fried soybean and vegetables, and chicken fried rice. Just right amount of spice, large portions, quick service.

Excellent and tasty experience with very quick and friendly service. Pan has been running this place for many years and is doing a great job. I loved the chicken and cashew rake out. The portion size was enough for at least 2 days. Thanks Pan, i willl be back, Pan.

The food was great, but they have no beer.

Updating from 4 to 5 after coming here about 5 times now with the food always being consistently good. We love the fried noodle spring rolls (might be seasonal) and the spicy chicken salad. We ordered the green curry, yellow curry, and Tom Kha. The curries were really delicious, especially the yellow which has perfect spice and flavor. The green was very spicy, which I like, but overpowered the dish a bit rather than enhancing it. Overall, really good curries. Tom Kha is our favorite Thai dish. This one was fine, but not great. Could use more lemongrass in our opinion. All of the dishes were takeout - good packaging and portions.

Chicken in pad Thai smelled before opening the container, that’s a lot of money for a smelly dish

had the beef with oyster sauce and highly recommend it. The portion was generous, and I felt completely satisfied afterward. The beef was tender, and the veggies were perfectly crispy. The staff was fast and helpful. Great experience overall!

We loved the food and service during our visit. I had a Thai green curry with rice and we had ordered spring rolls. All food came presented well, portions were great, quality of presentation was superb (pics were taken mid-eating!) and the taste was just amazing. The restaurant seems like it is a family run business and the gentleman who served us was very polite and provided good service. I would defo recommend this restaurant to others!

Best thai restaurant in the north ☻️

Tried ona sunday evening with the family. Small Thai spot close to Joordaan. Space is cramped (there are no more than 15 seats) but the taste is very good, with a lot of typical Thai flavours. Lots of variety on the menu and very abundant portions. Prices are right, service is precise and super fast. Very good find.

Geweldige plek om zeer goed Thais eten af te halen of te laten brengen. Zeer vriendelijk en kundig personeel. Zeer snel bereid eten. Niet per se goedkoop, maar dan heb je ook wat.

Heel goed thais restaurant. Het is net alsof je in thailand bent! Vriendelijk personeel die je thuis laat voelen.

Small Cozy with some tasty food.

Great little place with amazing food. We had the Papaya salad and a vegetarian green curry with Tufu, both were excellent. Staff was friendly and helpful. Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend!

Heerlijk gegeten voor een heel schappelijke prijs, snelle service en super vriendelijke bediening.:)

Heerlijke gerechten! Echte Thaise keuken zoals je dat verwacht met alle kruiden, lemon-gras of pit in gerechten. Ik bestel of ga graag langs bij deze Thai. Snelle service zonder daarbij tekort te doen aan de smaak. Ook nu weer genoten!

This place doesn't look nice at all. Probably would be better to use takeaway.

The Som Tam green papaya salad and spicy shrimp soup brought me back from the dead after a long weekend of Amsterdam pride and non stop festival/afterparties! 😆 it’s also my go to for when I’m sick in these corona times. Tried other times thai places but this on is my go to. 😊. Highly recommended!

La cuisine est très bonne, mais le cadre est moins nickel que sur la photo. Pas de vin à la carte, mais il m'a été proposé un vin rouge au verre que je qualifierai de douteux. Sinon les plats étaient très bons et vu le nombre de livreurs, ça marche mieux à emporter...

We picked up some take-out tonight and were very pleased with our food. Duck in soy sauce (with veggies) and red curry chicken. The red curry chicken was much spicier than we'd expected -- that was great for me (as I love spicy food) but too much for my husband. My son, who lived in Thailand for more than a year, said it was perfect, and on a par with his favorite restaurants in Chiang Mai. We plan on returning!

After seeing the menu specify spicy meals, I have to be honest I was disappointed my meal had lots of red chili flakes in it but was not noted as spicy 🥵 I ended up tossing it in the bin. If it weren't spicy, it would have been really good. Unfortunately I was unable to tolerate it.

Horrific beef pad thai. Fish cake starters were delicious though. Delivery was prompt and friendly and the pad thai was a huge let down. Threw half of it away.

My favorite Thai restaurant in Amsterdam and excellent customer service! Have been coming here for years, always excellent quality. Contacted the restaurant when one thing was not quite right (very unusual), and they called personally and offered a free meal and graciously a "treat"! Can't say enough wonderful things about Som Tam Thai!!!

Slechte service- de bezorger kwam er aan met lekkende bakjes- (waarschijnlijk gevallen of zo).. hij heeft verteld dat hij terug naar de winkel ging ze omwisselen.. 25 min later was je terug- helaas met koud eten en de bak die lekte helft leeg! We belde de restaurant maar helaas wilde ze alleen smoesjes maken waarom het zo was ...

Ik (als buurtwoner en klant) beveel dit eenvoudige, efficiënte restaurant van harte aan, ook nu tijdens de Coronacrisis voor afhaal- en bezorgmaaltijden. Hoofdgerechten met kip, rundvlees of vis (en allerlei groenten) zijn zonder meer voortreffelijk. Heerlijke groentesoep met kip. Er zijn trouwens ook gerechten met eend, inktvis of garnalen, maar die heb ik nog niet geprobeerd. O ja, gebakken rijst met kip of 'gemengd zeebanket': erg lekker. Goede ingrediënten, lekker gekookt, vriendelijke bediening. Ruime porties, niet duur, lekker, voedzaam, gezond, met veel mogelijke variaties, wat wilt u nog meer? Ik geef vijf sterren (100% tevreden voor restaurants in deze categorie en lower mid-price range), mede op basis van vergelijking met andere Thaise restaurants in de Noord-Jordaan en Haarlemmerbuurt en zelfs San Francisco, waar ik tientallen jaren geleden kennis maakte met the Thaise keuken.

Zelden zo slecht eten besteld. Kip was droog. Saus had weinig smaak. Groenten doodgekookt. Rijst is rijst. Gebakken rijst was niet gebakken. Smaak was ronduit vies. Kip met basilicum was met selderij. Smaakte naar groente soep. Alles bij elkaar erg slecht. Bezorging was ook zo snel dat er weinig moeite voor is gedaan.

Prima klein Thais restaurantje. Lekker om effe een hapje te doen, geen hoogvlieger. Personeel is vriendelijk, jammer dat ze alleen ijs als toetje hebben.....

Na jarenlang genieten van het eten van dit restaurant is helaas de kwaliteit van het eten enorm achteruit gegaan. De gebakken rijst smaakte naar plastic. Bij de laatste poging om het restaurant te benaderen krijg ik te horen dat het kan voorkomen omdat de rijst in het weekend al was voorbereid en bij het opwarmen dus 3-4 dagen later kan het voorkomen. dus GEEN vers eten, ook zeiden ze dat het druk is in het weekend terwijl ik dinsdag had besteld.
