Good food for a nice price in a very nice atmosphere

We ate here yesterday with seven people, enjoying the restaurant week menu. The staff were super friendly, the food was delicious, and the service was great. Highly recommended.

Had a delicious lunch. All the dishes were clearly made with love. Lovely place.

At first glance it seemed like a nice French bistro with the atmosphere of a French wine cellar. Once seated inside we noticed spiderwebs everywhere. The chef was shouting in the back in Turkish. The female manager and staff where looking a bit scruffy. Overall there was a lack of hygiene. The food was semi ok, but we did't had the idea that the kitchen was very clean. Kind staff but with poor communication skills.

I love this restaurant. Excellent French food and service. The house white wine was perfect. Sauces are delicious, meat perfectly cooked.

Chef came out personally to ask how we wanted our fillets prepared! Every classical French dish we tried - from the escargot to the profiteroles - was delicious.

Cute location both inside and out, but way too crowded inside. As a result, you can't hear your tablemates and have to raise your voice to make conversation. I actually left without dessert or coffee. Too bad :(

Warm place, just some errors concerning the menu, what is indicated is not necessarily what is eaten (titled "veal medallion" does not correspond to the escalope present on the plate). Know how to be patient because a good 30 minutes of waiting to have contact with a server unless you run after them.. shame the food was good anyway

Great food at a great price! Enjoy summertime dining al fresco on the canal. The interior is a bit dated, especially the restrooms, which need updating. But you quickly forget that in the cozy atmosphere.

We needed a place to sit. The kind owner offered us some chairs so we could eat our own food out of their opening hours. Charming place by the water, must visit!

Plan on spending 2 to 2.5 hours because the service is unprofessional. A real disaster: 1.5 hours to get the dishes, the bread arrives after the starter. At the same time, the staff seems completely overwhelmed and doesn't know how to manage thirty covers!

Super delicious food!!! I really liked everything, the only thing that was sometimes a bit off was the sewer smell that suddenly comes by every now and then. This happens more often in these kinds of spaces, on the water. But really, great food. Really enjoying it!!

Taiwanese people commented that desserts are super sweet (ordinary drinks are sugar-free - one point) The food was ok but not amazing The onion soup was good and the bread before the meal was OK Just waiting for the meal took a long time

A true find! Ordered the 3-course, prix-fixe menu described outside. You have to ask for it specifically once seated. Had the artichokes and mushrooms appetizer baked with a small amount of mozzarella that did NOT overwhelm the taste of the vegetables. My main course was the salmon surrounded by very fresh vegetables. Dessert included; could choose from dame blanche, chocolate mousse, crème brûlée or tiramisu. Everything was delicious, excellent and very carefully prepared. The salmon was baked until it had a light brown crust but was cooked on a bed of very fresh zucchini, keeping the salmon delicious and moist. I’m going to try that at home. Lots of vegetarian dishes, cooked perfectly, not just a lumpy after thought. I left at about 7 PM to get to the ballet, about 5 minutes away. Place was packed with people who were very clearly local, so this bistro is clearly - & deservedly - well-known. Staff was friendly, helpful and a pleasure to deal with, even when the restaurant was full. I highly recommend Bistro Bonjour and will definitely eat there again. Only open for dinner, 7 days a week.

Cozy, attentive staff and excellent food!

An authentic place to eat, but the long wait for the food was unfortunately not rewarded, lots of sinews in the meat, chateaubriand. And all in all, quite expensive.

Ate via social deal. Nevertheless, certainly not a poor copy of a standard visit. More than enough and delicious as always.

It's a great restaurant. I recommend it to everyone coming to Amsterdam. The ambience is great.

Excellent value for money. With €35 you can get by, good meat with side dishes and wine. It's the second time I go to Amsterdam and the second time I go there to eat. I'll be back.

Food was delicious, meat and fish plus vegetables and fries very tasty. Service/service is simply top notch. Can get a bit noisy, especially in the back due to low ceilings, etc.

Food is really delicious. Just try and make a reservation. Might look a bit old fashioned. But the atmosphere and service are fine.

Very friendly little French cuisine bistro. The dishes were delicious and the atmosphere was very intimate. I can only recommend the duck breast with orange and the veal medallion with Roquefort. The dishes are worth their price. Go for it !

A nice atmospheric bistro in the basement of a canal house on the Keizersgracht.. Delicious food. The service was friendly, but because there were 2 large groups inside we had to wait a little longer for our order. Furthermore, a real French atmosphere with candles on the table!

We were craving French food so Google led us to Bistro Bonjour. We enjoyed it. The sauces were delicious and the meat was prepared the way you would get it in France. No fuss, just honest food. Service was good and everything came out of the kitchen quickly. Highly recommended!

A lovely friendly place with an excellent choice of dishes. So good we went back the following evening.

We had dinner here with colleagues from the hotel and it was excellent. Tasty steak and wine and I definitely recommend pancake with grand marnier.

Cosy atmosphere with friendly service. Salmon starter different to what I am accustomed to, but the tastiest I can remember.

The appearance on the outside is mediocre. Once you enter, it looks attractive. The food is tasty and the service is nice. The wine was very tasty and the food was well prepared. Please indicate allergies before ordering.

Staff, food, Price all amazing will be back !

It started as a fun evening with my girlfriend, having a nice bite to eat at a new tent. Unfortunately, that quickly came to a stop when we discovered that the meat knife given to me by the cook smelled like poop. When I stated this in a calm and polite manner and then went to wash my hands, I came back and there was already a new knife. Not that we still felt like eating, but okay. The cook walked by quickly and said that it happened often with their cutlery. I then immediately asked for the bill and tried to explain to the woman why I was not going to tip, the woman did not appreciate that I did not tip and walked away in the middle of our conversation. Very unfortunate, because the food was quite okay, but the hygiene was terrible and so was the way we were treated afterwards.

We came here after Amsterdam Pride and had an amazing final dinner before heading home. The atmosphere is incredible, a cute well lit restaurant in a basement. The oven goat cheese salad was delicious and perfectly balanced. Also the French wines are on point. Enjoy!

A truly excellent value meal in lovely canal side location we happened to pass while walking in the central area. I had a particularly good steak.

If you’re into unsolicited immersive theater experience, this place might be for you! Our waitress, who seemed to think she was in a sitcom, mocked my friend while ordering, forgot our drinks for 20 minutes, and dramatically ran around saying “sh*t” every other word. Things got really wild after waiting 1h20m for our food. When we finally caught our waitress, she revealed they lost our order and got super rude. The chef even stormed out, yelling at my friend in Dutch, claiming they’d been cooking for us all night. Dish breaking, foot-hitting during the dramatic runs, and zero apologies for waiting were part of the experience. Despite the chaos, the food was amazing. But unless you have 2-3 hours to spare and enjoy comedy-style rude service, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

We waited to be served 1.5 hours. Even tho they lost the ticket for the food we ordered, they didn’t apologised or offered anything else.

Absolutely horrendous service, forgot our order, were rude about it, once they realized what they did, took them 45 mins for 4 stakes. Never coming again. Food was great when it finally arrived, but left a sour taste. To say again, one young waitress was so rude.

The food was good, but they were so slow that it took us more than two hours to eat.

Came here really hungry. Waited for food for more than 1.5 hours. When we asked why our food is not served, the waitress started screaming at us ‘it was the fault in the system, what can I do about it’, without even saying sorry. Then the chef ran out of the kitchen and started screaming in Dutch at our table ‘I am preparing the food for you all the time’ - while thousands of plates were served to other tables… then he broke a glass out of anger… on the checkout, I mentioned how the sevice was not nice and how they behaved rude to us… then we were kicked out (!) of the restaurant after paying an expensive bill with the last words: ‘you ate all the food, now leave and never come back… take care’ !!! NEVER COME TO THIS PLACE!!!

Extremely unpleasant service. The stake in green paper was exceptional but the service ruined the whole experience in particular one waitress that probably didn’t have just a bad day considering the other reviews. The food came more than 1.5h late without any explanation or apology. To top it all of while leaving and expressing our disappointment in a calm and polite way she said that we should be happy because we got the food at the end and ask us to leave. Such a shame as the other lady working with her seemed embarrassed with her behavior. They should work on the service before bonjour becomes au revoir.

We were extremely disappointed with the experience. The Nicoise salad was a major letdown - it was bland and lacked the freshness and flavor expected. To make matters worse, the escargot seemed to have come straight from a supermarket shelf. The onion soup was far too salty and tasted like it was made from store-bought cubes. Overall, this was a very underwhelming meal and we won't be returning.

Prima restaurant op een mooie locatie. Vandaag hier gegeten prima stukje vlees en mijn vrouw een zalm. Ze schenken een redelijk glas wijn(geen haagse glaasjes). Ik had hier wel een wijn kaart verwacht. Deze hebben ze niet. De bediening was prima het was niet heel druk ben wel benieuwd hoe het is als het vol zit. Al met al kijken we terug op een fijne avond.

I recommend it to everyone coming to Amsterdam. The food is legendary😋 we loved the onion soup. Both the duck and the tenderloin were delicious. You can end it with a dessert. The owners are very friendly people, not to mention their conversation 😍

Unfortunately, Bonsoir. It wasn't good. The service couldn't have been less disinterested. We ordered a three-course dinner with a discount code via Socialdeals.nl. The food was okay at best but the absolutely derogatory treatment of the English service ruined whatever little good there was. Shame. Different place for next time.

We had dinner as a couple. The meal was excellent, from starter to dessert. This French restaurant really stands out from the crowd, with starter, main course and dessert menus priced between €25 and €32. We will come back without hesitation

Very disappointed. We had the menu de chef. The onion soup was tasteless and seemed like it had way too much corn starch. The steak poivre sauce was similarly glutenous. The service was spotty, it took way too long to bring cocktails, once they arrived, our entre was delivered. We had to ask twice for our glass of wine with main course. Save your money for a decent restaurant. There were several in the neighborhood, but we neglected to make reservations. Our main take away - plan ahead, the restos that have space usually have it for good reason.

Lovely quiet restaurant. Enjoyed the social deal (3 courses for fixed price) Because the music is very soft, the other guests do not talk loudly. Dishes tasted good, meat was nice and tender. Friendly staff and nice coffee. Highly recommended....

Fabulous off the cuff decision, visited here for something to eat and was very surprised at the quality of the food! My girlfriend was in raptures about the warm bread and garlic butter…..and that was before the main course,! We both had the chicken in a mushroom sauce. Delicious Lovely ambience too! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Amsterdam

Busy place, some forks were thrown by the waiter into our backs mistake. It was super busy, so the whole dinner staff members were hitting our chairs from the back. The staff is not friendly, not even smiling, except for two lovely young ladies. No tap water allowed for the customers. Surprise for any Dutch restaurant. We ordered a 3 - course menu, and had to wait for like half an hour for every course.

Because a train had canceled and we had a performance in Carre, we arrived much later than planned. We indicated this and it was acted upon wonderfully. We received our food very quickly, which was also delicious. Top ten for Bistro Bonjour and we will definitely come back to do it again. Thanks!

Authentic atmosphere. Carpaccio beforehand was very substandard. Prime rib was thick and delicious.
