Good and friendly staff that accommodated a big group and assisted with a birthday celebration.

Food is really delicious. Just try and make a reservation. Might look a bit old fashioned. But the atmosphere and service are fine.

Very friendly little French cuisine bistro. The dishes were delicious and the atmosphere was very intimate. I can only recommend the duck breast with orange and the veal medallion with Roquefort. The dishes are worth their price. Go for it !

Grumpy service. Only speaks English and is surprised that you try to speak Dutch. Plastic in the shrimp cocktail Meat raw while medium requested Furthermore, nice tent and food quite good.

A nice atmospheric bistro in the basement of a canal house on the Keizersgracht.. Delicious food. The service was friendly, but because there were 2 large groups inside we had to wait a little longer for our order. Furthermore, a real French atmosphere with candles on the table!

What could be a lovely little bistro was ruined by angry staff arguing loudly. Left early and did not finish meal

A lovely friendly place with an excellent choice of dishes. So good we went back the following evening.

We were craving French food so Google led us to Bistro Bonjour. We enjoyed it. The sauces were delicious and the meat was prepared the way you would get it in France. No fuss, just honest food. Service was good and everything came out of the kitchen quickly. Highly recommended!

We had dinner here with colleagues from the hotel and it was excellent. Tasty steak and wine and I definitely recommend pancake with grand marnier.

Went in here today after walking past so many times. What food. Everything you order is great. There is nothing that is not tasty. Staff is great. Everything is great! We will eat here more often. Perfect 👌

Cosy atmosphere with friendly service. Salmon starter different to what I am accustomed to, but the tastiest I can remember.

The appearance on the outside is mediocre. Once you enter, it looks attractive. The food is tasty and the service is nice. The wine was very tasty and the food was well prepared. Please indicate allergies before ordering.

Ik snap de recencies niet,de bedieding heel goed!! Ze mogen zeker nog aan hun uiterlijke verzorging werken De carpaccio droop in het water ,was bevroren geweest,kreeg een tafel waar ik tegen de toiletten aankeek ,,vroeg of de deur dicht mog maar de spiegel is belangrijker om naar te kijken ,ijs met warme chocoladesaus…niks warm aan voor ons niet meer

It started as a fun evening with my girlfriend, having a nice bite to eat at a new tent. Unfortunately, that quickly came to a stop when we discovered that the meat knife given to me by the cook smelled like poop. When I stated this in a calm and polite manner and then went to wash my hands, I came back and there was already a new knife. Not that we still felt like eating, but okay. The cook walked by quickly and said that it happened often with their cutlery. I then immediately asked for the bill and tried to explain to the woman why I was not going to tip, the woman did not appreciate that I did not tip and walked away in the middle of our conversation. Very unfortunate, because the food was quite okay, but the hygiene was terrible and so was the way we were treated afterwards.

A truly excellent value meal in lovely canal side location we happened to pass while walking in the central area. I had a particularly good steak.

We came here after Amsterdam Pride and had an amazing final dinner before heading home. The atmosphere is incredible, a cute well lit restaurant in a basement. The oven goat cheese salad was delicious and perfectly balanced. Also the French wines are on point. Enjoy!

If you’re into unsolicited immersive theater experience, this place might be for you! Our waitress, who seemed to think she was in a sitcom, mocked my friend while ordering, forgot our drinks for 20 minutes, and dramatically ran around saying “sh*t” every other word. Things got really wild after waiting 1h20m for our food. When we finally caught our waitress, she revealed they lost our order and got super rude. The chef even stormed out, yelling at my friend in Dutch, claiming they’d been cooking for us all night. Dish breaking, foot-hitting during the dramatic runs, and zero apologies for waiting were part of the experience. Despite the chaos, the food was amazing. But unless you have 2-3 hours to spare and enjoy comedy-style rude service, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Absolutely horrendous service, forgot our order, were rude about it, once they realized what they did, took them 45 mins for 4 stakes. Never coming again. Food was great when it finally arrived, but left a sour taste. To say again, one young waitress was so rude.

We waited to be served 1.5 hours. Even tho they lost the ticket for the food we ordered, they didn’t apologised or offered anything else.

Extremely unpleasant service. The stake in green paper was exceptional but the service ruined the whole experience in particular one waitress that probably didn’t have just a bad day considering the other reviews. The food came more than 1.5h late without any explanation or apology. To top it all of while leaving and expressing our disappointment in a calm and polite way she said that we should be happy because we got the food at the end and ask us to leave. Such a shame as the other lady working with her seemed embarrassed with her behavior. They should work on the service before bonjour becomes au revoir.

Came here really hungry. Waited for food for more than 1.5 hours. When we asked why our food is not served, the waitress started screaming at us ‘it was the fault in the system, what can I do about it’, without even saying sorry. Then the chef ran out of the kitchen and started screaming in Dutch at our table ‘I am preparing the food for you all the time’ - while thousands of plates were served to other tables… then he broke a glass out of anger… on the checkout, I mentioned how the sevice was not nice and how they behaved rude to us… then we were kicked out (!) of the restaurant after paying an expensive bill with the last words: ‘you ate all the food, now leave and never come back… take care’ !!! NEVER COME TO THIS PLACE!!!

The food was good, but they were so slow that it took us more than two hours to eat.

We were extremely disappointed with the experience. The Nicoise salad was a major letdown - it was bland and lacked the freshness and flavor expected. To make matters worse, the escargot seemed to have come straight from a supermarket shelf. The onion soup was far too salty and tasted like it was made from store-bought cubes. Overall, this was a very underwhelming meal and we won't be returning.

Prima restaurant op een mooie locatie. Vandaag hier gegeten prima stukje vlees en mijn vrouw een zalm. Ze schenken een redelijk glas wijn(geen haagse glaasjes). Ik had hier wel een wijn kaart verwacht. Deze hebben ze niet. De bediening was prima het was niet heel druk ben wel benieuwd hoe het is als het vol zit. Al met al kijken we terug op een fijne avond.

I recommend it to everyone coming to Amsterdam. The food is legendary😋 we loved the onion soup. Both the duck and the tenderloin were delicious. You can end it with a dessert. The owners are very friendly people, not to mention their conversation 😍

Cosy French restaurant on the canals. I recommend one of the 3-course prix fixe menu options. I take guests there and they love it.

Unfortunately, Bonsoir. It wasn't good. The service couldn't have been less disinterested. We ordered a three-course dinner with a discount code via Socialdeals.nl. The food was okay at best but the absolutely derogatory treatment of the English service ruined whatever little good there was. Shame. Different place for next time.

We had dinner as a couple. The meal was excellent, from starter to dessert. This French restaurant really stands out from the crowd, with starter, main course and dessert menus priced between €25 and €32. We will come back without hesitation

Very disappointed. We had the menu de chef. The onion soup was tasteless and seemed like it had way too much corn starch. The steak poivre sauce was similarly glutenous. The service was spotty, it took way too long to bring cocktails, once they arrived, our entre was delivered. We had to ask twice for our glass of wine with main course. Save your money for a decent restaurant. There were several in the neighborhood, but we neglected to make reservations. Our main take away - plan ahead, the restos that have space usually have it for good reason.

Ate via social deal. Nevertheless, certainly not a poor copy of a standard visit. More than enough and delicious as always.

Fabulous off the cuff decision, visited here for something to eat and was very surprised at the quality of the food! My girlfriend was in raptures about the warm bread and garlic butter…..and that was before the main course,! We both had the chicken in a mushroom sauce. Delicious Lovely ambience too! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Amsterdam

Busy place, some forks were thrown by the waiter into our backs mistake. It was super busy, so the whole dinner staff members were hitting our chairs from the back. The staff is not friendly, not even smiling, except for two lovely young ladies. No tap water allowed for the customers. Surprise for any Dutch restaurant. We ordered a 3 - course menu, and had to wait for like half an hour for every course.

Because a train had canceled and we had a performance in Carre, we arrived much later than planned. We indicated this and it was acted upon wonderfully. We received our food very quickly, which was also delicious. Top ten for Bistro Bonjour and we will definitely come back to do it again. Thanks!

Happy December 31st, reservation for 8 p.m....we arrive full of enthusiasm and desire...like around fifteen others...queue...I double to find out...thanks to the unfriendly gentleman who told me made it clear that I had to go back outside! And yes the room is full, we have to wait for the second service... You have a very sad method to make sure you are full. Happy New Year bistro hello or rather bye bye, we won't come back...what a lack of respect!

Jzi booked 3 weeks before. I was called the day before to confirm and remind me to be on time. In the end: arriving at the front, on time, we had to wait for a table to become available, behind 15 other people who had also reserved for 8 p.m. One New Year's Eve. Taking reservations without limits and making people wait 2 hours outside who have reserved, what's the point? Disrespectful! In the end, even with planning, we had to find another restaurant! Thank you, don't call the day before, it's useless!

The word is not: Not enough, not great, not going back. There are so many great restaurants in Amsterdam, this is not one of them. It’s not awful, but just too average to be bothered.

It is not often that I come to a restaurant and leave this satisfied. Their steak is exceptional, their staff is welcoming and attentive and the entire ambiance of the restaurant transports me to 1950. Love coming here, will always be the first restaurant I recommend.

Very kind & friendly staff and the food was out of this world. The chef is extremely attentive and the young waitresses were so helpful answering all of our questions. The steak was exceptional and the escargot was delicious. Would recommend to everyone!

Heerlijk gegeten en leuke sfeer!

Visited the place during the Restaurant Week. Good choice of dishes, great taste and decent dish size. Great cozy atmosphere and very nice service.

Zaterdagavond tijdens Restaurantweek (RW). Na goede recensies wilden we dit zelf ervaren, maar eten en service vielen tegen. Menu voor RW had géén vegetarische of vegan optie en omdat ik wel vis kan eten, had ik geen andere keuze dan 2x zalm te bestellen (voor- en hoofdgerecht). Wie verzint het om 2x dezelfde vis op het RW menu te plaatsen? Toen ik vroeg of ze voor het voorgerecht toch iets anders konden aanbieden, werd hier negatief op gereageerd. Flexibiliteit naar klant toe is dus niet aanwezig en dus voor mij niet ‘klantvriendelijk’. Tevens lang wachten, voordat we een eerste drankje kregen of een tweede konden bestellen. Het eten was matig, muv de Tiramisu trouwens 😉 Wellicht hebben we ze op een voor hen ‘slechte’ avond getroffen, maar zonder enig uitleg over het gebrek aan service of flexibiliteit kunnen we hiervoor geen begrip op brengen. Om deze redenen zouden wij hier niet terug keren.

Loved every course of our meals. The veal in Roquefort sauce was tender and juicy and cooked to perfection. The Roquefort sauce was subtle and delicate in flavour and not overpowering. Loved every bite

Exceptionally kind and attentive staff. Their onion soup and steak with pepper sauce were simply delicious, and the atmosphere was also nice. The price was also surprisingly affordable, especially the chef's menu (3 course meal). We were very lucky to get the table outside, made our evening wonderful. Will come back again for sure.
