Sahan Amsterdam in Osdorp-Oost

My daughter just moves to the neighbourhood and as im a big Turkish food fan we chceked it out. Customer service was excellent 👌. We sat outside. Food was slightly over spiced but good quality. Prices however were extortionate €25 for one skewer chicken shish. They did have an excellent variety of vegetarian opptions though. I'd say nice place really good service and friendly staff but,pricing was a bit over the top for the venue.

Last week, my wife and I went to meet a friend. I was hesitant at first, but my opinion changed completely once we got there. I loved the decor, the staff were polite and friendly, and the service was very fast. I especially want to thank Celal, who took special care of us. We ordered almost all the mezes (appetizers) and they were all delicious. The hot appetizers were amazing, beyond fantastic; I was surprised, I wasn't expecting such flavors. I didn't have a drink, but after seeing all these delicious dishes, I decided it wouldn't be complete without raki. I can tell anyone living in Amsterdam or planning a visit that they are unparalleled in terms of Turkish food and mezes. Try it, you won't regret it. I recommend it. Thank you.

The best Turkish food I have eaten in Osdorp. The dishes were plentiful and delicious. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful in choosing the dishes. We enjoyed a variety of hot and cold mezzes paired with a delicious authentic lentil soup. Absolutely the top location in the Osdorpplein area. Free parking around the corner in the Ahxl garage.

Busy, nice decor, friendly and welcoming service, delicious food. A bit noisy though, and the television and quite loud music distract from the conversation. But that also adds to the atmosphere. And oh yes, lots of traffic on the street 😁

This restaurant is a discovery that absolutely must be shared. The welcome is incredibly charming, and the food lives up to the menu: delicious! The service is impeccable, the restaurant is spotless, and the bill is very reasonable considering the quality of the dishes served. Try the creamy lamb and mint soup or the deconstructed American sandwich—it's amazing!

Had a Mezeterian dinner with drinks for 3 people. Overall the quality, atmosphere, and staff were great. The check came out to be around a 100€. Would definitely recommend, if you’re looking for a good Turkish restaurant with a fully stocked bar.

Delishous restaurant with all sorts of mediterranian dishes! the staff are exceptionally nice, the menu has lots of dishes, however all of them taste amazing! For dessert I would personally recommend the Layla, a chocolate, kadayif, and pistachio mix, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Its very rich in flavour, and definitely worth getting!

Quite small portions in relation to the price. The meat that everyone in the reviews is so satisfied with was downright bad. More well done than medium rare. The acili kebab was not spicy.

Not werry often you find place Wich looks so everyday from outside and if you give it chance, inside you find modern and stilish place to enjoy good food. Opened kitchen is always one hudge plus and here you will newer expect that. Atmosphere is 99% of impression and here comes impressions straight from entrance. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! One of my favorite restaurants for dining. Good value for money. The staff is super friendly and warm. Always greeted well at the door without having to wait. The decor and atmosphere inside are beautiful, with a lovely very large aquarium and greenery on the ceiling and walls; it is quite an experience to dine here. And of course, the food... time after time, a fantastic, flavorful dish. We often eat the tenderloin and the Philly cheese steak here; every time, it is perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The staff certainly deserves a bonus for their professionalism and attentive attitude. Always holding the door open and saying hello to everyone when leaving the restaurant; wonderful people, and this naturally contributes to the amazing experience. Thanks Sahan and see you soon!

I am very satisfied with Sahan Amsterdam. I was there with my girlfriend for iftar and we had a wonderful time. Everyone was super sweet and helpful, and they made sure we could break our fast and enjoy a delicious meal exactly on time. We were also able to leave briefly to go to the mosque for prayer. It was a wonderful dinner experience. The freshness and flavor of the appetizers almost filled us up before the steak arrived. The cooking degree and quality of the meat were exactly as I wanted. Many thanks to both the kitchen team and the friendly service staff.

The coffee was unfortunately not good, and the food was just okay. Furthermore, the interior smelled strongly of fried food or something else unpleasant, which didn't enhance the atmosphere. Perhaps an air freshener would be a good idea.

Deceptive practices. I ordered Tavuk shish and the menu said 21.5 euro. later they charged me 24 euro in bill, saying the extra is for the sauce, which i never ordered myself. They just brought it with the item. Never disclosed the extra cost. The restaurant also doesn’t have any tap water.

Last night, my girlfriend and I had delicious yogurt soup with mint and pieces of tender lamb, and dessert with Belgian chocolate and pistachios—a shame they ran out, it was delicious! My girlfriend had a thing for syrup, so she asked for a little more, no problem. We received a warm welcome from all the staff. We had a reservation for 6:30 PM but were able to choose one from three tables. Fast service, highly recommended, even if you have to be at the Meervaart at 8 PM. A beautiful, large aquarium! We'd love to come back!

We would like to thank Celal and Nil for their hospitality. The food was truly the most delicious we've had in the Netherlands in a long time. The only issue, in our opinion, was the lack of afternoon tea in such a place. We hope to have afternoon tea on our next visit. Thank you for everything.

The food was excellent. Celal and Nil were wonderfully helpful throughout the evening. The dessert, Leyla, was unusual and delicious. We were looking for a Turkish tea in a slender glass; that was the only thing missing ;) Hopefully it will arrive soon :)

They're literally packaging minced meat and meat products when they're almost spoiled. This has happened twice now. The first time I thought maybe there was a problem with me, but the second time I'm sure. The expiration date says one week, but the minced meat smells awful and has turned brown. Of course, I've filed complaints with the relevant authorities, but I wanted to write about it here too.

What a fantastic restaurant! The service is excellent, friendly, and attentive. We ordered several mezzes to share, and they were all delicious! They were very tasty, fresh, and varied. We told them in advance that we needed to leave after about an hour for a show, and within 10 minutes, our food was on the table, giving us plenty of time to enjoy the food and the restaurant. Sahan is a top-notch restaurant, and I recommend everyone to eat there!

My wife and I experienced this last night. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was served very hot, which was great. The meat we ate was delicious, no problem at all. However, the portions were very, very small for the price; it would be difficult for an adult to be full. We asked for bread to help, and they only brought one heated tortilla. 😀 Unfortunately, last night I ate the worst rice of my life. Not a single grain of rice held its shape because it was breaking, and it was terribly mushy.

A quiet restaurant with delicious food

We literally waited an hour for our food; no one noticed we were sitting at an empty table the whole time. And yet, plenty of people were milling around, arms crossed, looking around and wandering around. We mostly ordered mezzes. They looked delicious on the menu with a variety of flavors, but in the end, it was all yogurt. Just yogurt with the occasional indeterminate chili pepper. The price was definitely not worth it.

Eating at Sahan is always a wonderful experience! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and prepared with great care. You can truly taste the quality and love that goes into the dishes. What makes it extra special are the people who work there. Always friendly, welcoming, and with a genuine smile. You can tell they enjoy their work, and that radiates through the entire experience.

We had a wonderful meal! We received excellent advice and shared several cold and hot mezzes.

We went for dinner as a family with our 1-year-old child. The restaurant is very large and airy, with large tables. The environment is comfortable for children, and strollers can easily move around the restaurant. They have a very large aquarium, and they arranged our reservation next to it, which was a great help. We ordered three appetizers, a main course, and desserts. We were very pleased with everything we ate; the Leyla and Mecnun desserts were especially good. I can say that it has earned a place at the top of the list of places that serve the best Turkish cuisine in Amsterdam. The service was also very good, with very good communication skills. The staff were very polite and communicative. I will definitely choose this place again.

I went there with my partner. Lovely food with a nice ambiance. Tried their atom, hummus and hingel. I recommend to get Atom with their warm bread if you have a liking for spice! I really liked it given the fact it had bags of flavours! Ps. We forgot to take pictures of our food, I guess we were famished! 🙄

Good menu, nice variety of starters, a second vegetarian option for the main courses would be welcome: grilled vegetables with yogurt sauce? Turlu? Delicious Turkish wine and tasty desserts, though they are heavy after all the other food. We'd love to come back!

Some dishes are good but the overall culture is one of over charging. 12.50 for the smallest coban salata I have ever seen (a tiny bowl of tomato, cucumber, feta & onion).& the policy of no tap water is insulting— as though they were not already asking inflated prices. What should be an enjoyable dining experience ended up feeling exploitative. Disappointing.

Is a chef himself and knows what is old and new. They could have changed then everything would have been ok. Mistakes can happen. But another waiter came instead. We discovered this restaurant by chance while passing by, and the customers' plates made us want to stop there. The welcome was initially a little strange from two waiters, giving the impression that we were not welcome. Fortunately, another waitress then came to greet us warmly, which improved our feeling. In terms of cuisine, the dishes are very good, but we were disappointed by the quantities: to accompany our meat, only two vegetables and a potato cut into four… It was really light.
