Akoestisch was het erg prettig, wij konden elkaar verstaan. Bediening was vriendelijk,netjes en legde alles keurig uit wat we opgediend kregen. Het enige puntje van feedback is, men kon wat regelmatiger langskomen voor de drankjes. Maar nu het allerfijnste en dat was echt het eten. Wauw mijn complimenten voor de op diening en de smaaksensaties van het verrassende vega 3 gangen menu. Ik kom echt zeker nog een keer terug.

Ik heb hier al een paar keer gegeten steeds met andere mensen, die elke keer enthousiast waren over het eten en sfeer. Ik zelf trouwens ook. Steeds weer een bijzonder menu met onverwachte smaak combinaties. Bediening en sfeer ook prima. Kortom nu ook weer top avond.

Yesterday we had a delicious meal here for the third time. Beautiful, tasty and surprising dishes. They have a nice menu (vegetarian, meat/fish) that changes every month. Nice, relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant. Recommended!

Had a delicious meal here on a normal Wednesday evening. Different flavors, surprising combinations but incredibly tasty. In addition, delicious wine and staff were very friendly. I also have a nut allergy myself, but we had taken this into account very carefully 😊 Recommended!

We komen hier altijd weer terug omdat het eten zo verschrikkelijk lekker is! Zowel de vegetarische gerecht als vis en vleesgerechten. Fantastische smaak explosies. Het adres om jezelf en elkaar af en toe te verwennen!

Super goede service. De jassen werden aangenomen, de kok kwam aan tafel en de gehele avond bereikbare bediening. Het eten was heerlijk en puur. Mooi opgediend.

Fantastic food. Fantastic attentive staff who were really engaged in explaining the chefs choice menu. The smoked Laban was like nothing I have tasted before ! Highly recommend this place. Had a great chat with the chef also ( who’s name I’m ashamed to say I forget).

Great experience, if you pass through Amsterdam it is really worth trying. A welcoming place with few seats, young and friendly staff. The format is that of a 3 or 4 course menu with a vegetarian option. In my case the menu consisted of a vegetarian appetizer with various vegetables that were a bit particular, a venison fillet that was really excellent and tender and a good conclusion with a dessert with apples and a Frangelico cream, really special. Personally I found the idea of ​​the menu pleasant in such a way as to try different dishes and/or foods, especially in relation to the fact of being in a foreign country.

Fijne plek met een wonderbaarlijk lekker menu. We hebben met 13 personen gegeten bij Meneer de Wit heeft honger. Ik heb in geen tijden zo lekker gegeten. We hadden een drie gangen menu, maar eigenlijk had iedereen spijt dat we niet voor een vier gangen menu hadden gekozen, zo lekker was het. Iedere gang was een uitgebalanceerd maar super-origineel gerecht met daarnaast fijne wijnen en andere drankjes, die snel werden geserveerd. Een mooie collectie aan desert wijnen, cognac etc. maakte het af. Onze vleeseters, vegetariërs en flexitariërs waren allemaal erg te spreken over het menu. Daarnaast werd de zaterdagavond opgeluisterd door een jazz duo, wat absoluut bijdroeg aan de sfeer. Vriendelijke chef, maar ook de bediening was top. Kortom, een hele dikke aanrader. Met twee verdiepingen geschikt voor stellen, vrienden maar ook voor een familie of een zakelijk dinertje. Gewoon met zijn tweeën of in een groter gezelschap tot makkelijk 14 personen. Een nieuwe favoriet.

Net voor de feestdagen besloten om met een groep van 11 collega 's het jaar af te sluiten. We hebben heerlijk gegeten. Bediening was top. Eten was zoals verwacht (wij hebben hier vaker gegeten) heerlijk. Kortom, we hebben een prachtige avond gehad.

What a nice hidden gem this restaurant. The food was very good and of a Michelin star level but against a modest price. The wine selection was very good and the service was very attentive. Highly recommandable.

Gezellige, warme, ongedwongen sfeer in dit restaurant. Alleen al voor de amuse zou ik terugkomen. Er wordt hier serieus lekker brood gebakken met even smakelijke hummus erbij. De gerechten zijn mooi in balans, oprecht verrassend en het oog voor detail bij de keukenbrigade zie je terug op het bord. Dikke plus ook voor de huisgemaakte non-alcoholische drankjes, hibiscus, mango-chili, yummmm!

Ik heb 7 jaar geleden een keer bij Meneer De Wit Heeft Honger gegeten om iets te vieren. En dit jaar besloot ik om mijn verjaardag met een etentje met mijn lief hier te vieren. En weer was het geweldig. 5 gangen + wijnarrangement. We hebben van iedere hap en slok genoten. Het personeel aan tafel was kundig en attent.

Lekker en gezellig! Had een fijne avond het eten was orgineel en heel lekker. Bediening was attent. Live muziek was een plus. Kom zeker eens terug.

Het eten is echt heerlijk! Wij dachten in eerste instantie dat je drie of vier gangen kon kiezen maar het was alleen vier gangen (ook helemaal geen probleem). Er was ook live muziek wat heel leuk was. Helaas was dit soms wat minder goed te horen door een grote groep mensen die er zat. Maar de bediening was heel aardig en zocht aldoor naar een goede oplossing. We konden bijvoorbeeld ergens anders zitten. Zeker een aanrader om hier naartoe te gaan!

We had a birthday table for 11p last night, place looked pretty fancy and somehow set expectations for the food level. Well.. exceeded them !!! The chefs there knows their shit !! Wine pairing and service, everything you wish for. You won’t regret your night out !!

een heerlijke avond gehad met later op de avond wat live muziek wat de toch al goede sfeer fijn kon onderstrepen. De gerechten waren prachtig opgemaakt en goed van smaak, begeleid door vriendelijke bediening met uitgebreide uitleg over wat op het bord lag. Het was alleen wat rustig voor een zaterdag avond, dat hadden we niet verwacht.

Super lekker gegeten. De dry aged antrecote was de ster van de avond. Bediening had er duidelijk zin in en snapte waar ze het over hadden. Ik kom hier zeker terug.

Voor mij één van de lekkerste gangenmenu’s in Amsterdam ooit! Meestal is er wel een gang die iets tegenvalt maar hier was alles lekker. Smaken los van elkaar, smaken afzonderlijk combineren, smaken van alles samen, allemaal verrukkelijk!

Really lovely intimate restaurant with delicious food that packs a punch in flavour as well as presentation. I came here with a group of friends some of which were vegetarian and one who had a gluten and shellfish allergy and the restaurant was so accommodating and made delicious meals to suit them. It was refreshing to have them be part of the fine dining experience rather than left Hungry and disappointed as we had at other restaurants that weekend. The staff were personable and accommodating. My only complaint is that time between courses was a little long, so a 3 1/2 course dinner stretched over a couple hours, although there were only 2 staff in the kitchen so this was understandable. All in all a wonderful dining experience and everyone had lovely things to say about the dishes. We felt like we’d discovered a hidden gem.

Had dinner again in this restaurant that is close to me. Opted for a four-course menu and wine pairing. Starter was something with beetroot and nothing special, then mussels with charred leek in a creamy sauce, was well done. Main course was also tasty; meat with smoked mashed potatoes and mushrooms and dessert was a small and unimaginative chocolate mousse. The wine pairing consisted of three meager glasses of wine and I didn't find it very special. And if you then have to pay € 180 (for 2 people) afterwards, I think that's quite pricey. So all in all, my final verdict is mwahhh… there are better options in Oud-West!

Ate here on Valentine's Day. Price-quality-quantity was completely out of balance. Also had to wait a very long time for dishes. Unfortunately, high expectations were not met. Shame!

Had a fantastic evening. It wasn't very busy on Christmas Day, but that didn't detract from the experience. The food was very tasty, the explanation for each plate was good and understandable. The dishes were well proportioned and beautifully presented. The wines paired well and the service was very personal and pleasant. Even if I tried, I couldn't think of any negatives.

Recommended! Delicious food, very nice service, nice jazz music. The confit de canard with the date fig chutney was particularly tasty. Add nice wines and your evening is complete. Deal well with allergies (gluten).

I went here with my parents for Christmas Eve, the food was AMAZING, so good. The wine suggestions were also very very good. It's a nice atmosphere, we were sitting below, very peaceful, the music is at a nice volume, plenty of space around the tables so you dont feel invaded in your personal space. It's great.

what an amazing surprise! We've been neighbors for a couple of years and never tried it, we were pleasantly surprised. Very high quality level course dinner and an even more interesting wine menu. Everything was delicious and the staff is very welcoming and attentive without being over the top. Will definitely come back.

We had a 4 course tasting menu, compared to a fine dining experience there were a lot of mistakes in service and also with the food. I wouldn't mind these mistakes if I wouldn't have had high expectations but I did have high expectations due to the pricing and the menu options. Probably won't be coming back, my girlfriend didn't like it either, weird energies.

We came with a group of 6 and had the tasting menu. Everything was good and innovative. Closer(ish) to what we're used to coming from NYC (but no comparison), so we're happy to find a spot like this in Amsterdam. Atmosphere is laid back, so it would be a good place for groups.

Very nice place with interesting concept. You get a surprise dinner. You may choose 4 courses meal vs 5 courses and fish and meat vs vegetarian. Besides that - you have no choice. I really liked it. All dishes were excellent fresh and tasty. Service was really good and there was enough time between the dishes which allowed us to spend really good time with our friends. It was the most pleasant experience. On Saturdays there is also live music, which makes the evening even more pleasant. To summarize - the place is highly recommended. Take into account that you have reserved seats in advance.
