Mewsim in Osdorp-Oost

I want to be perfectly clear: my visit to this restaurant was a disaster. The service was so bad it was almost a joke. The waitress who greeted us behaved in a way that was completely disrespectful and unacceptable. Her attitude was so arrogant and rude that it seemed like she was above everyone else. This kind of behavior makes your restaurant come across as a place with no standards, no professionalism, and frankly, of a level I wouldn't recommend to anyone. If this is what you call "service," then it's understandable why people avoid your establishment. I left immediately because I'm not willing to stay in such a terrible atmosphere. This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a restaurant—both in terms of attitude and service. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

I often come here for breakfast with my family and friends. The quality is top-notch, and the staff, especially Mehtab, are very friendly and welcoming. The location is magically beautiful, right by the water. 100% recommended!

Today I visited Mewsim for the first time, and what a wonderful experience it was! There were four of us and we were all more than satisfied. We enjoyed an extensive open buffet with a surprising number of options. The simit and poğaça were so fresh and flavorful, I dare say you won't find them better anywhere else. And I say that as someone who regularly enjoys a Turkish breakfast! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and that's largely thanks to the wonderful team. Mehtap, thank you so much for your friendly welcome and excellent service. Your smile and attention really make all the difference. You're the best! We will definitely be back soon.

We went to the place the day after the Galatasaray match thinking it was a Turkish place, but we called and asked if we could make a reservation. They said the place was empty. Then, even though there were 6 tables available, they said we couldn't take them unless we had a reservation. The female staff member was very short and had blonde hair, and her welcome was very bad. We left because they thought there were too many customers for you and too many places for us, but overall the service, tradesmanship and respect for the customers were 0.

We recently celebrated something here, but I can't help but share my disappointment. Upon arrival, we were suddenly told we could only stay for two hours, even though that hadn't been stated beforehand. Furthermore, the supposedly "all-you-can-eat" open buffet breakfast was suddenly limited to one plate. Eating one plate for €20 per person really isn't worth it—you'd be better off going grocery shopping and having breakfast for the whole week. As if that wasn't enough, we brought our own cake (as we've done before without any problems), but this time we suddenly had to pay an extra €20. When we mentioned this, we were told we should be happy, as they normally charge €5 per person. That's not transparent and, frankly, feels like a scam. It's a shame, because these kinds of rules should be clearly and honestly communicated beforehand. We certainly won't be returning. Kişi başı 20 euros ödeyip sadece bir tobacco yemek gerçekten değmez — o parayla marketten alışveriş yapar, bir hafta kahvaltı yaparsınız. Daha da kötüsü, kendi pastamızı getirdik (daha önce de getirmiştik ve hiçbir sorun olmamıştı), fakat bu kez bizden fazladan 20 euro istediler. Durumu söylediğimizde ise “normalde kişi başı 5 euro alıyorum, şanslısınız” dediler. Bu hiç şeffaf değil ve resmen dolandırıcılık gibi hissettirdi. Gerçekten üzücü, çünkü dürüstlük ve açık iletişim bu sektörde çok önemli. Biz bir daha kesinlikle gitmeyeceğiz.

Nice renovated restaurant with delicious food, of which you should definitely try the meat dishes. We had a delicious meal with the family.

We've eaten at Mewsim several times before, and it was always good, but our last visit was unfortunately a huge disappointment. My two sisters got sick after eating the rib-eye steak. It was the only dish they both had. The first portion was prepared incorrectly and sent back; the second was nothing like a rib-eye steak. After contacting us several times, our complaint was repeatedly challenged. They even claimed the staff had eaten the returned meat "to prevent waste," which is unprofessional and unhygienic. Instead of taking responsibility, we were simply offered a free dessert on our next visit. It's a shame, as previous experiences had been positive, but the way complaints and food safety are handled is truly disappointing.

Today we had a delicious breakfast at mewsim, top service and friendly staff!

Breakfast was really nice, and the atmosphere was super warm and cozy. The staff were very friendly — honestly, I didn’t expect the service to be that good! I had a mixed breakfast with lots of options, and the prices were quite reasonable. I definitely recommend trying it out! I also found out they have shisha, so I’ll definitely come back one evening to try it.

We went to eat hamburgers, the filling was delicious and the service was very fast. We loved the lemon cheesecake.

Such a cozy and lovely place on the water. The view is wonderful. Waiters are kind and friendly. I have been there a lot; with friends and alone. Prices are affordable. The foods are delicious and you can choose traditional or general foods as well. I recommend their Turkish coffee with dessert after the meal.

After breakfast in the morning, we had a birthday celebration. Everything was great. I tried raspberry cheesecake. It was the first time I had such a delicious cake. I recommended it to my friends. Azize Hanım was especially very friendly and had very friendly staff. I was very pleased.

We went as a large group for five o'clock tea and we were very pleased. The staff was very warm and attentive. The desserts were delicious (especially the tiramisu). Thank you all for your efforts.

Unfortunately been here first and last time

The food wasn't warm, and unfortunately, one of the staff members was rude. There were no napkins on the table either. Just a spoon and knife. I used to go there a few times. It used to be better, but not anymore.

I always enjoyed coming here for food and drinks, and the service was top-notch. I couldn't believe what had changed in this restaurant recently. I arrived around four o'clock in the afternoon with my six-month-old daughter and my friend to sit at a table and order food, which was already a struggle. We were the only ones in the restaurant ordering food, and everyone else was in the shisha smoking area. About five service staff members were yelling and yelling but didn't come to take orders. The other service staff member had to clean the tables first. Ten minutes later, she came by to take my order. I asked the waitress for rice instead of fries. I had to ask her, but she didn't. I called her back, "You can ask." She replied, "Okay, I'll do it." The food arrived, but she didn't bring the drink I ordered. I was confused. I hadn't said anything. I started eating when I found a long hair in my food. I call the waitress, and she looks at me like, "What's wrong?" I point out there's hair in my food. Her response is, "Do you want the same menu again?" I don't need anything more from you. WHY IS THE SHISH AREA DOOR WIDE OPEN WHILE I'M SITTING IN THE RESTAURANT WITH MY 6-MONTH-OLD GIRL? You can literally smell the shisha smoke and the restaurant.

We went out for breakfast today because it was a special day for our friends, and we wanted to celebrate it. We asked for a spot by the side, but even though there was an extra hall, they said they wouldn’t open it. Later, when a table became available — since we hadn’t sat down yet — we asked if we could move there. They said, “Normally we don’t allow table changes, but fine,” as if they were doing us a favor. Then, when we were talking among ourselves about whether there was a coat rack, one of the nearby staff members rudely said, “It’s right there, can’t you see it?” The staff were very rude.

If you want to have a delicious breakfast with a Bosphorus view, you are at the right place🙏 Also, the desserts are incredibly delicious, you can try all of them🍰

We savored delicious cheesecakes, which we couldn't get enough of, while enjoying the lake view. The last time we had such a delicious dessert was in Italy.❤️

We came from Germany just for this place, having seen it online. The food, service, and restaurant were fantastic!! It was delicious. Thank you for everything, especially to Ms. Mercan, for her friendly and attentive service :) We will be back :)

The drinks were delicious. The only downside was that a young woman who works there was very irritated for some reason and was talking loudly on the phone. As a customer, I could hear everything, which was unpleasant. She was cursing a lot and was very aggressive. Perhaps Mewsim could discuss this internally; that would be great.

On September 22, 2025, my sister and I each ordered a ribeye from Mewsim: one medium rare and one medium well. When we received our orders, both ribeyes were well done. Because they were an expensive cut of meat, we sent them back. The new ribeyes tasted more like steak; the doneness was correct this time, so we ate them. Shortly afterward, we both became very ill. Our brother contacted Mewsim, but no one took us seriously. To our surprise, an employee even said they had eaten the meat from our first order and that none of them had gotten sick. I find it alarming that meat that customers have already eaten is being eaten by employees. Because Mewsim is not taking responsibility and not taking our complaints seriously, we have reported it to the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA).

Quality of the food really low, the food is not hot enough, and on the menu there written that is grilled meat but since there’s open kitchen you can recognise they’re using pants. I spent almost 70€ for 2 tea and 1 mix grill. If you’re on the osdorp lake don’t go to this place, better go to CASA DI JOSPER .

Delicious food! Great service and a great atmosphere.

I had a very bad experience. The staff was unfriendly and didn't speak Dutch. I tried to sit at an empty table, but was turned away for no apparent reason and rudely addressed with only "no change, no change." The blonde employee (a Turkish woman with blond hair) was especially rude. No explanation, no customer service. For me, a clear reason to never come back here again.

We had a 1st birthday party for my son at Mewsim and I was really pleased with the staff. Mehtap was very helpful and brought us everything we ordered in a short time and the mix grill was very delicious. I was very pleased with everything.

The lovely Mrs. Mercan helped us tremendously. We went to this restaurant for dinner, and all the other waiters were also very good and kind, but she handled most of our table. Thank you for the service, she communicated everything well and on time. The food was incredibly delicious, not normal, this is typically delicious Turkish food and not average.

I love this place; it's a place I visit often. It's spacious, airy, right on the water, and offers access to Turkish cuisine beyond kebabs. The staff is always attentive and friendly. Even during Ramadan, their positive energy made our meal even more enjoyable. Mercan Hanım always brightens my heart. I always have great respect for people who love their work. I'll be back for breakfast soon. 😊

We arrived on Saturday evening (August 16th around 9:00 PM, table 50) without our phones, as part of our date. The waitress recommended the most expensive dish. We ordered the meat "rare," but it was served "medium-well" and was almost impossible to cut. The cold appetizers didn't even arrive. When we indicated we wouldn't be eating but would still pay, we received no apology, only the comment that "it's not good for the restaurant." No manager came to ask what was wrong. On the plus side: the mushrooms and cheese were delicious, and the waitstaff remained friendly. Unfortunately, not recommended – especially not the meat.

We had a very nice breakfast in an extraordinary city to visit. I don't really understand it, but you should definitely try Konya Meat Bread. We liked it very much.

I asked for a ribeye and it was well made, really tasty. I guess they were understaffed, because some customers were pissed about the delay. It's a bit expensive, the food was ok for the price. The balcony view is really nice.

There was a smit, but it was like brick. I told him that wasn't okay, and he said, "Yes, this is it, I don't have anything else." I also had to pay in advance before we even ate. Then I went to the lady who came to me and said I had to pay first before we could start getting food because we were sitting outside. I said, "I've now paid €20.00 per person, but you don't have Turkish bread or smit." She said, "I'll bring it to you in a minute." Well, I haven't seen her since, except when I had to pay for drinks again. I've never experienced such a bad breakfast buffet. Never again!

The worst meal I have ever seen in my life, I had soup tonight, it smelled so much of canned meat, we left without eating, I was hungry, it was really persunal, 0 interest, moreover, I went with my child, the child was hungry, I do not recommend it at all

A very disappointing experience. The food was truly subpar. Orders arrived far too late—even the soup, which surprised me greatly. The pizza was undercooked, the dough still raw, and not tasty at all. The dessert (kazandibi) was also not what it should have been—flavorless and completely out of character. Coffee and tea didn't arrive until we were actually finished. To make matters worse, the patio door was open the whole time, making it freezing inside. All in all, a very unpleasant experience. I won't be returning.

I visited Mewsim yesterday and had a great Turkish breakfast experience! The atmosphere felt truly authentic — it instantly brought back memories of my time in Turkey. They offer an open buffet for €20 per person, and honestly, everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. From cheeses and olives to warm bread and traditional dishes, it was a wonderful spread and a great way to start the day. The only downside to our visit was a moment during breakfast when one of the staff members came to clear the empty plates from our table. Unfortunately, she did so in a rather rude and uncomfortable way — with a serious expression and even placed the plates loudly on another table. We weren’t sure if she thought we might reuse them or if there was a misunderstanding, but the interaction felt unpleasant and unnecessary. Aside from that, the overall experience was still very enjoyable, and I’d definitely recommend Mewsim to anyone looking for a genuine Turkish breakfast in a cozy setting.

Apparently, you can't order anything from the menu at 1 p.m.; it's not mentioned anywhere on the website. We told them the breakfast was already gone and not fresh, and that we wanted to order from the menu, but unfortunately, that wasn't possible. So we went elsewhere for dinner.

Unfortunately, it's gone bad. It's become a place for hookah bars. We used to go there occasionally, and take our guests. The service was passable and good. My last visit was today. The waiters are indifferent. The table isn't cleared. No one looks at you. On top of that, the prices are way too expensive. Paying €15 for 4 glasses of ayran doesn't make sense. One star. Removed from the list. Sorry, mewsim :(

We liked the food and desserts. The bread and spicy oil they brought before the meal was also very nice. It is a place you can go with your family. The fact that it is non-alcoholic was our choice. The atmosphere is very nice. It has a nice ambiance by the water. One aspect to criticize is that the teas are charged. More accurately, the tea that came was in a tiny tea glass and tasteless. It was more like tea given as a treat. And each tea is €2. If you are selling tea at this price, please make the glasses a little bigger and well-brewed and delicious.
