‼️CATASTROPHIC‼️ This restaurant was the worst I have ever eaten at. The food tasted like it had been rescued from the trash yesterday and carelessly reheated. The service was nonexistent, rude, and clearly annoyed by their own existence. The wait was so long I could have moved house between the appetizer and the main course. The cleanliness suggested that hygiene was treated as a very loose concept. A place you should only visit if you want to permanently lower your expectations.

The wait times were absurdly long – one could easily have done something else between courses. The cleanliness also left much to be desired and inspired no confidence in hygiene standards. A visit is only advisable if you have absolutely no expectations.

This restaurant is terrible when you call the restaurant and ask if they are open they said yes until midnight and when a customer show up to eat at their restaurant they rectify their answer and say oh we are open just for smoking ans drinks but there is no more food. Then why the heck would you say your restaurant is open until midnight. Another 3 couples arrived after us asking the same question and leaving angrily. When did you ever hear that a turkish restaurant will only open for drinks without food!!!! These people are a bunch of clowns!!!

Really terrible!!! When you come for an open buffet breakfast, everything is cold. The staff is very curt and doesn't listen to customers. Most don't even speak Dutch. The only drink options are tea??? No water, lemonade, or anything else... You have to pay for that separately. It's a real shame; I expected better from Mewsim. One star is even too much.

We had a wonderful meal at Mewsim. The food was delicious and clearly of high quality. The service was friendly and fast, and you really felt welcome. The atmosphere in the restaurant is also very cozy and relaxed. Everything was perfect—definitely recommended!

I recently visited this Turkish restaurant for their “open buffet” breakfast, and I was very disappointed. The price was higher than other similar places, but the variety of food was extremely limited. Surprisingly, one of the most popular Turkish breakfast dishes — menemen — was not even available. The second major issue was with the drinks. The buffet only included Turkish tea, and no other beverages were provided. Anything else you wanted, even water, had to be paid for separately. I was shocked when I asked for a glass of water and was told it was not allowed unless I ordered bottled water — a small bottle cost €4! When I questioned why there was no juice or any cold drink included in the buffet, the explanation I got was that when they used to serve water and lemon, people would just keep drinking and not leave until the buffet closed. This is a very unprofessional and unfair reason for paying customers. Overall, the experience did not match the price or expectations for an “open buffet” breakfast. I would not recommend it due to the lack of variety and poor value for money.

Today, four of us went to that restaurant. The staff was very arrogant and antisocial. According to normal opening hours, the restaurant is open until midnight. However, at 9:30 PM, someone came with a vacuum cleaner and started vacuuming next to our table. This was very strange and made the service and our experience particularly bad.

When we arrived, it took a long time for a staff member to show us to a table, so we walked to one ourselves. We asked for a menu and tried to order, but it took ages to speak to one of the waitresses. This was pretty much the whole time... Regarding the food, the chicken and meat are cooked on the same grill, so people who don't eat meat just taste the flavor and the leftovers. The meat isn't that good. The chicken wasn't that tasty either. For a Turkish restaurant, I thought it was a shame they didn't have baklava... Turkish restaurants should be able to do better. Kunefe was really delicious! So, who knows, I might come back for Kunefe sometime, but I'll skip dinner! Thanks!

Breakfast was delicious and affordable. Unfortunately, the music was quite loud at that time. When I politely asked if it could be turned down a bit, I was told that it was set automatically and they couldn't adjust it. A little later, I did turn it down (apparently, this was manual, not automatic). Then, after 10 minutes, they turned the music up again, and they laughed about it. When I asked if there was drinking water, I was told, "I could order it, honey, sparkling water." I think it's only fair that water is offered alongside tea without having to pay extra.

Unfriendly staff, there was one woman who was absolutely unfriendly. She didn't make us feel welcome! They could be friendlier and smile more, that would be nice!

We just came from Paris for a weekend and ate at this very good restaurant. We received a warm welcome, especially from Mohamed who served us. They even gave us wipes and lollipops at the end – a nice touch!

We only had cocktails and a shisha. The cocktails were bad, and the shisha was awful. Even the worst shisha cafe in Germany has better shisha, and I'm 100% sure of that. Not recommended. Go somewhere else. The prices are exorbitant! 3 people, 3 cocktails, and 1 shisha: €68!

I often come here for breakfast with my family and friends. The quality is top-notch, and the staff, especially Mehtab, are very friendly and welcoming. The location is magically beautiful, right by the water. 100% recommended!

I want to be perfectly clear: my visit to this restaurant was a disaster. The service was so bad it was almost a joke. The waitress who greeted us behaved in a way that was completely disrespectful and unacceptable. Her attitude was so arrogant and rude that it seemed like she was above everyone else. This kind of behavior makes your restaurant come across as a place with no standards, no professionalism, and frankly, of a level I wouldn't recommend to anyone. If this is what you call "service," then it's understandable why people avoid your establishment. I left immediately because I'm not willing to stay in such a terrible atmosphere. Today I visited Mewsim for the first time, and what a wonderful experience it was! There were four of us and we were all more than satisfied. We enjoyed an extensive open buffet with a surprising number of options. The simit and poğaça were so fresh and flavorful, I dare say you won't find them better anywhere else. And I say that as someone who regularly enjoys a Turkish breakfast! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and that's largely thanks to the wonderful team. Mehtap, thank you so much for your friendly welcome and excellent service. Your smile and attention really make all the difference. You're the best! We will definitely be back soon.

We went to the place the day after the Galatasaray match thinking it was a Turkish place, but we called and asked if we could make a reservation. They said the place was empty. Then, even though there were 6 tables available, they said we couldn't take them unless we had a reservation. The female staff member was very short and had blonde hair, and her welcome was very bad. We left because they thought there were too many customers for you and too many places for us, but overall the service, tradesmanship and respect for the customers were 0.

Upon arrival, we were suddenly told we could only stay for two hours, even though that hadn't been stated beforehand. Furthermore, the supposedly "all-you-can-eat" open buffet breakfast was suddenly limited to one plate. Eating one plate for €20 per person really isn't worth it—you'd be better off going grocery shopping and having breakfast for the whole week. As if that wasn't enough, we brought our own cake (as we've done before without any problems), but this time we suddenly had to pay an extra €20. When we mentioned this, we were told we should be happy, as they normally charge €5 per person. That's not transparent and, frankly, feels like a scam. It's a shame, because these kinds of rules should be clearly and honestly communicated beforehand. We certainly won't be returning. Durumu söylediğimizde ise “normalde kişi başı 5 euro alıyorum, şanslısınız” dediler. Bu hiç şeffaf değil ve resmen dolandırıcılık gibi hissettirdi. Gerçekten üzücü, çünkü dürüstlük ve açık iletişim bu sektörde çok önemli. Biz bir daha kesinlikle gitmeyeceğiz.

We've eaten at Mewsim several times before, and it was always good, but our last visit was unfortunately a huge disappointment. My two sisters got sick after eating the rib-eye steak. It was the only dish they both had. The first portion was prepared incorrectly and sent back; the second was nothing like a rib-eye steak. After contacting us several times, our complaint was repeatedly challenged. They even claimed the staff had eaten the returned meat "to prevent waste," which is unprofessional and unhygienic. Instead of taking responsibility, we were simply offered a free dessert on our next visit. It's a shame, as previous experiences had been positive, but the way complaints and food safety are handled is truly disappointing.

Breakfast was really nice, and the atmosphere was super warm and cozy. The staff were very friendly — honestly, I didn’t expect the service to be that good! I had a mixed breakfast with lots of options, and the prices were quite reasonable. I definitely recommend trying it out! I also found out they have shisha, so I’ll definitely come back one evening to try it.

Such a cozy and lovely place on the water. The view is wonderful. Waiters are kind and friendly. I have been there a lot; with friends and alone. Prices are affordable. The foods are delicious and you can choose traditional or general foods as well. I recommend their Turkish coffee with dessert after the meal.

After breakfast in the morning, we had a birthday celebration. Everything was great. I tried raspberry cheesecake. It was the first time I had such a delicious cake. I recommended it to my friends. Azize Hanım was especially very friendly and had very friendly staff. I was very pleased.

The food wasn't warm, and unfortunately, one of the staff members was rude. There were no napkins on the table either. Just a spoon and knife. I used to go there a few times. It used to be better, but not anymore.

I always enjoyed coming here for food and drinks, and the service was top-notch. I couldn't believe what had changed in this restaurant recently. I arrived around four o'clock in the afternoon with my six-month-old daughter and my friend to sit at a table and order food, which was already a struggle. We were the only ones in the restaurant ordering food, and everyone else was in the shisha smoking area. About five service staff members were yelling and yelling but didn't come to take orders. The other service staff member had to clean the tables first. Ten minutes later, she came by to take my order. I asked the waitress for rice instead of fries. I had to ask her, but she didn't. I called her back, "You can ask." She replied, "Okay, I'll do it." The food arrived, but she didn't bring the drink I ordered. I was confused. I hadn't said anything. I started eating when I found a long hair in my food. I call the waitress, and she looks at me like, "What's wrong?" I point out there's hair in my food. Her response is, "Do you want the same menu again?" I don't need anything more from you. WHY IS THE SHISH AREA DOOR WIDE OPEN WHILE I'M SITTING IN THE RESTAURANT WITH MY 6-MONTH-OLD GIRL? You can literally smell the shisha smoke and the restaurant.

We went out for breakfast today because it was a special day for our friends, and we wanted to celebrate it. We asked for a spot by the side, but even though there was an extra hall, they said they wouldn’t open it. Later, when a table became available — since we hadn’t sat down yet — we asked if we could move there. They said, “Normally we don’t allow table changes, but fine,” as if they were doing us a favor. Then, when we were talking among ourselves about whether there was a coat rack, one of the nearby staff members rudely said, “It’s right there, can’t you see it?” The staff were very rude.

We savored delicious cheesecakes, which we couldn't get enough of, while enjoying the lake view. The last time we had such a delicious dessert was in Italy.❤️

The drinks were delicious. The only downside was that a young woman who works there was very irritated for some reason and was talking loudly on the phone. As a customer, I could hear everything, which was unpleasant. She was cursing a lot and was very aggressive. Perhaps Mewsim could discuss this internally; that would be great.

We came from Germany just for this place, having seen it online. The food, service, and restaurant were fantastic!! It was delicious. Thank you for everything, especially to Ms. Mercan, for her friendly and attentive service :) We will be back :)

On September 22, 2025, my sister and I each ordered a ribeye from Mewsim: one medium rare and one medium well. When we received our orders, both ribeyes were well done. Because they were an expensive cut of meat, we sent them back. The new ribeyes tasted more like steak; the doneness was correct this time, so we ate them. Shortly afterward, we both became very ill. Our brother contacted Mewsim, but no one took us seriously. To our surprise, an employee even said they had eaten the meat from our first order and that none of them had gotten sick. I find it alarming that meat that customers have already eaten is being eaten by employees. Because Mewsim is not taking responsibility and not taking our complaints seriously, we have reported it to the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA).

Quality of the food really low, the food is not hot enough, and on the menu there written that is grilled meat but since there’s open kitchen you can recognise they’re using pants. I spent almost 70€ for 2 tea and 1 mix grill. If you’re on the osdorp lake don’t go to this place, better go to CASA DI JOSPER .

Delicious food! Great service and a great atmosphere.

I had a very bad experience. The staff was unfriendly and didn't speak Dutch. I tried to sit at an empty table, but was turned away for no apparent reason and rudely addressed with only "no change, no change." The blonde employee (a Turkish woman with blond hair) was especially rude. No explanation, no customer service. For me, a clear reason to never come back here again.
