Mythos Greek Restaurant in De Weteringschans

The waitstaff repeatedly said “hello ladies” to me (a man) and a friend of mine. We wanted to have a quiet dinner, but a waiter kept talking about everything and anything. A very peculiar experience.

Delicious pita gyros! I ordered two in a row. Traditional Greek cuisine in Amsterdam, and the owner was so kind and sweet!

Had a wonderful experience here. The food was exceptional. I highly recommend the spare ribs, I devoured it and was too good to share! My husband got the chicken gyros plate which was just as good. Server was funny and welcoming. Really couldn't fault it.

I was charged €116 for a bill that should have been €16. This is a huge discrepancy and extremely concerning. Check your receipt carefully and verify the amount before leaving.

We have seen Mythos for years but never been in - what a mistake - we went tonight and what an absolute gem it is! Chic Greek style interior, friendly attentive team, good drinks choice and some delish food! We had the Tigania Chicken and the Beef Stifado - both were delish, especially the Stifado which just melted in my mouth. Definitely worth a visit A++

Not recommended. Far too expensive. Small portions. Fries extremely hard. Gyros tastes like frozen food fried in a pan. The decor is very cheap and on par with a kebab shop. Tourist rip-off. Even though the restaurant was practically empty, the order took a very long time. Probably to make it look more popular.

We had a wonderful meal here on Sunday evening, January 25th, after finishing our theater visit. You can taste the Greek atmosphere in the food, as if you were in Greece for a moment. It's a shame we don't have this Greek restaurant in Rotterdam. If we visit Amsterdam again, we'll definitely be back.

The food was very yummy and the service was friendly and they didn’t take a long time to get our orders ready. The ambience was relaxing and the art on the wall would make you nostalgic of a past trip to Greece or hopeful for a future one. The restroom was also clean. I recommend that you visit if you’re in Amsterdam. I’d definitely go back. Would love to try more things on the menu.

We really enjoyed our meal here. Our server was excellent very friendly, and all staff were great with the kids. Me and my partner ordered the meat sharing platter which was enormous and great value coming with fries, salad and tzatziki. Other family members got the stefado which they enjoyed. Definitely visit for a greek experience in Amsterdam. Yamas!

I’ve tried Greek food just a few times in life, and when I went to Mythos I ordered the Pyta Gyros Varken (pork) with no onion and Tzatziki on the side (as I don’t like onion and I wasn’t sure about garlic, which I don’t really like if the flavour is too intense). The food was GREAT! Very tasty and the Tzatziki ABSOLUTELY TASTY (mild garlic flavour). I’d recommend Mythos for anyone in Amsterdam! A place you MUST stop by on your stay! The restaurant ambience is cozy and warm :)

We had a reservation booked at 20:00 for 2 people. We arrived at 19:55 and they asked us to go wait at the opposite Thai restaurant for 5-10 minutes to not feel cold (gentle but weird gesture). Ended up being called again to this restaurant at 20:10. The food was okay tasty but not worth 75,25€, just ordered the meat platter and 2 drinks, when in the menu it said that one portion is minimum for 2 people and it was confusing so we ended up ordering 2 (basically we feel they tricked us). Final point is that we asked for 1 rice and 1 fries and they still gave 2 fries.

Chosen at random. If you're looking for Greece in Amsterdam, this is the place to be. Super delicious food. Be sure to try the appetizer platter first. Really good drinks. Friendly, very attentive service. Greek feel. Very good selection.

The best souvlaki I've had outside of Greece. Very decent. The service is perfect. The decoration smells like Greece. Inside the restaurant there is a real bougainvillea tree. We will definitely go back. It's worth a visit if you're in Amsterdam.

The food wasn't anything special, but the price was. Unfortunately, it's overpriced. Not worth it! Service was terrible. Even after repeated requests, I couldn't order. In short, not recommended! There are much better restaurants in the neighborhood.

The food was average but overpriced. The potatoes inside the pita gyros tasted like squid and had clearly been fried in the usual oil. The place was very basic and lacking in hygiene.

We had a great meal here yesterday. Most of the mixed grill items were tender and well-seasoned. The only thing we were a bit disappointed with was the gyros. The atmosphere was great, and the staff was very friendly. We'll definitely be back.

Terrible, avoid at all costs. Anyone calling this “the best Greek food in Amsterdam” either has never had real Greek food or doesn’t know what good food, or even just edible food, tastes like. As soon as you walk in it’s obvious this is essentially a tourist trap. Slimy owner chatting you up… knowing he’s got you. The chicken gyros I had was €11, small, and hardly edible, I had to throw most of it away.

The atmosphere inside the restaurant was comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I was able to enjoy my meal while immersed in the laid-back Greek atmosphere.

Went on our first night in Amsterdam. I had two young kids. When I asked about baby chair they said they didnt but they went out and got one from another restaurant. The behavior of the staff was very friendly and polite. The food was very good. Definitely will recommend if you want greek food in Amsterdam.

Always go here for a girls night or just for a while To eat well, especially the gyros is so tasty and we always go on Wednesdays. The service is great and the chef is also nice. Afterwards a drink. So come here for a nice and cheap meal and cozy.

One of the best cuisines! Even in Greece you can hardly find such cuisine! The prices for the area are normal! George is willing to serve and give advice on everything as well as all the staff! Give it a try and you will not be disappointed!
