Bistro Croquant Maastricht in Wijk 00 Centrum

On my third visit to Maastricht, I returned to Croquant. It's the perfect combination: elaborate, yet understated, food with a French touch, which you can enjoy as tapas and with fantastic value! My go-to restaurant in Maastricht!

Great food! Loved the different bitterballen appetizers. And the porc belly was to die for!

What a feast for the taste buds! Each dish is unique, yet equally surprising in flavor and texture. We enjoyed homemade cauliflower croquettes with truffle cream. Raw scallops on papadum with lemon/vaille, wasabi, and crème fraîche. Creamy Parsley risotto with roasted vegetables and roasted cherry tomatoes. Roasted sea bass fillet with a chorizo/tomato jus and sage gnocchi. And believe me, I'd happily order the whole menu next time. And all of that in a very pleasant atmosphere with excellent staff.

Highly recommended for delicious food in Maastricht. Unique dishes, exceptionally tasty. Freshly prepared! The starters and main courses are far too delicious to leave room for dessert. Haha. Knowledgeable and very friendly staff.

The service was excellent, and they spoke both English and German. The food isn't cheap, but the quality is very high. Great interpretations of bitterballen and croquettes!

This wonderful restaurant is located in the picturesque old town. The dishes are excellent, and they are all prepared at the counter in the middle of the restaurant in front of the guests. There is a sharing concept, although this is loosely applied. The service is very friendly, even when it's very busy and everyone is working at full capacity. Reservations are recommended.

We had a wonderful time at your restaurant! We managed to find a place for the same day despite the concert being organized in the city. We were very well received and we had a great time!! The server even made the effort to speak a little French for us, which we really appreciated!

The food was delicious, and the staff friendly. The atmosphere was also really nice in a quiet part of the city. Unfortunately everything took a long time, it was difficult to catch the servers attention and our food say for a while before it got to us - so it was not 'hot hot' when it was served. However, it was a busy night for them with big groups- and the food really top notch !

If you want to eat out fancy, want to blow someone away with your restaurant choice and still really fancy a croquette this is the place to be. With every croquette variant we tasted we were amazed at how delicious they were. The presentation and the way the food tastes makes the money really worth it. It's a shame they are no longer centrally located in the Netherlands otherwise I would have gone here much more often.

Ohhhhh, how delicious! You eat according to a tapas idea: several small dishes that you can share together. After the first course I would like to order the entire menu! But I kept it at 4 courses. Highly recommended!

Loved the food and service! Great vibe. We thought nothing could top the ‘buikspek’, but then the waiter advised us the coquilles. When the chef saw us enjoyjng it — the waiter was right in his implication — he kind of apologized: “we should not have let you end with that, because you should start with that actually”

Whatever you order, you MUST try this at least once: the scallops (even if you don't like scallops or fish), the pork belly and the chicken liver cream. Lovely atmosphere, super friendly and helpful staff and heavenly food.

The atmosphere is cozy, stylish and simply perfect for feeling good. And the food? Unsurpassed! Every dish is a true taste experience – perfectly balanced, creative and prepared with so much love. No matter whether classics or new creations – everything tastes sensational here. We are thrilled every time and can't wait to come back. Anyone in Maastricht should not miss this culinary experience. Absolutely clear recommendation!

Nice restaurant different than usual. Delicious dishes such as scallops, delicious chicken liver mousse, various croquettes with matching sauces. For example, cauliflower, artichokes, iberico and rendang. 3 perfect desserts including an apple pie croquette, yes, with cookie ice cream and a perfect salt caramel ice cream with popcorn and olive oil. Delicious chocolate truffles with coffee. Perfect host and service. Could be a little warmer for us old people. But really recommended.

Heerlijke smaken in alle gerechten die we hebben geprobeerd (en dat waren er aardig wat). Voor ons sprongen de garnalen kroketten, tartaar en eendenworst er uit, maar alles had zijn eigen en bijzondere smaak. Aanrader!

Gerechten waren heerlijk en leuk om te delen. Borden, eigenlijk rechthoekige bordjes, mogen wel wat groter zijn. Bediening erg vriendelijk, maar let te weinig op lege glazen en schalen. Misschien omdat we aan de grote tafel zaten. Tijdens onze avond erg rumoerig. De buikspek, runderstoof en risotto waren voortreffelijk, gevolgd door de appeltaart croquetten 😋

Nice bistro with tasty dishes that you can also share (food to share) just outside the busy center. Acceptable prices. Very friendly service. Only downside: the tables for 2 are too close together.

We are disappointed again today by Croquant. It is now the second time that we have made a reservation via Google search and used “Reserve a table” there. The table draft was really available. This reservation was later cancelled. We won't go back. Take an example of other restaurants in Maastricht where we were warmly welcomed. Compliments to Infinito.

Wat hebben wij heerlijk gegeten in Bistro Croquant. Gastheer Roland was super gezellig en gastvrij aan de bar. De home made Hollandse garnalen kroketten zaten boordevol met garnalen in een prachtige roux. De rauwe coquilles op papadum met crème fraiche en wasabi prachtig gemaakt. Daarna hadden we de truffelrisoto, Iberico buikspek en salade met diamanthaas. Allemaal even verfijnd. Een super rosé gedronken en mooi glas rode wijn. Very nice evening with delicious food! We arrived a little early, but were able to grab Platu at the bar and have a drink. The table was then available on time. The concept does not include a large main course but rather several small dishes. This means you can try more and still get a sentence. The waitresses were all friendly and accommodating. Everything was explained. Questions about individual dishes were also answered in detail. We were very satisfied and can absolutely recommend Bistro Croquant!

They are so friendly in here!! Food is on par with the service. The Swiss girl, the chef, the Hungarian dude five stars for their service level.

Everything was "on point" here, we had an idea of ​​what to expect but we could leave that out on the street. What a wonderful experience this was. The establishment exudes the atmosphere of a modern Parisian bistro, the service is amiable, competent and offers service with a smile. And then you still have to try the cuisine. The croquettes are superb, we tried the asparagus and ham, Dutch shrimps and artichoke with parmesan cheese and... wow. The fresh summer salad is something that many restaurants charge top price for, but here it is "just" a side dish. But, and you have to sit down for this, the Iberian pork belly on a bed of pointed cabbage... who wants to eat anything else than that. The fact that this dish literally requires days of preparation with a dry rub as a start and hours in marinade and preparation at medium temperature where the chef has to keep an eye on the product every hour is just the beginning. The pointed cabbage salad and presentation of the dish are worthy of a Michelin star. But they remain humble, even though the Croquant men really know what they are bringing to your table. About the wine choice, simply on point. If only we lived in Maastricht. We know where we'll go next time we're in the area...

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here and returned a second time while staying in town. The atmosphere invites one to linger, to savor the flavors, to share the plates, to enjoy the wines. Several different people waited on us, and all were professional and polite. While the menu changes seasonally, I can highly recommend the beef stew (rich, complex flavors), the pork belly with cabbage (every bite is delicious), the cold starter pizza with scallops (fresh and wafer thin) and the cheese platter for dessert with the oh so yummy sauce. The shrimp croquettes were the best I have had and the jambon balls with sauce were definitely on point. We paired each bite with a wine so that we could enjoy the experience further. Just go...you will not be disappointed. I did not take photos but everything was appealing and tastefully presented.

Had a remarkably good meal here. Great card. Great service. Nice guest room and our dog was also welcome. A clear 5* - we'll be back. Definitely worth a visit! Noted at a high level: There is still some room for improvement when it comes to the wine selection (price very fair). It was good and something exciting/barrique would go well with the creations.
