What a great place. Glad we didn't choose Beluga. 🤣 That guy, Danyel, can cook. And that combined with the hospitality and wine choices of hostess Mariska, who makes sure you don't miss anything, makes that we had an incredibly beautiful evening. If you come to Maastricht and want to eat really delicious food, this is the place to be. We will definitely come back. Love from Zutphen

What a top restaurant! From the moment we entered, we immediately felt like we were coming home. Reception, food, presentation of wines and dishes... we chose suitable wines for each dish, and all the wines we drank were simply delicious! The staff is very open-hearted, very friendly! The restaurant is very cozy! Thank you Mariska and Danyel!

Very tasty food and very friendly service where the chef regularly shows up and also personally asks if you would like to eat something. If you choose a matching wine arrangement, you can opt for full glasses or a base per course (at least you will be fit the next day). We opted for a bottom which means at most 2 gulps (sips) wine. For this you can then pay almost € 7 per glass. That's on the quite spicy side. As a result, you ultimately pay a bill that you expect in a star restaurant. Good food, but price / quantity really too expensive.

A feast for the eyes and a godsend for the taste buds!! From the moment we entered the restaurant we knew we were in the right place. Enjoyed expertly prepared, generous dishes accompanied by matching wines. We were pampered all evening by hostess Mariska and Chef Danyel! Highly recommended with fantastic value for money! After the renovation I was curious what the restaurant would look like. The entrance has been renovated, as has the terrace, interior design 👍 Opted for the 8-course menu including matching wines ❤️ The evening started with a great Gillardeau oyster 》 smoked duck 》 duck liver 》 bisque 》 pork chop / asparagus 》 chocolate cappuccino and finally Talleggio with lots of truffle ❤️❤️ Wonderful evening thanks to chef Danyel and Mariska who served the wines. This is my favorite restaurant, very atmospheric and always a party with all the guests in the restaurant. If you want good food in Maastricht you should go here!

These northerners had forgotten that carnival was about to break out in the south and almost all restaurants were closed except for Danyel restaurant. As if it was meant to be! Exactly THE place to celebrate my birthday; no posh, no schniecke schnakke priegeltjes on your plate, but beautifully prepared recognizable dishes and all a caress for the taste buds. Perfectly matching wine pairing, poured by the very hospitable hostess Mariska, made for an absolutely culinary festive evening! For me the lamb was really the absolute best! Simply perfect! We had the chef's table and from there we could also enjoy the entertainment provided by the chef and other guests. It was an evening to never forget! Thank you dear Mariska and Danyel. We would love to come back again, for example for the scallop carpacco. We wish you a very happy holiday.

Afgelopen weekend met een groep van tien bij Restaurant Danyel gegeten, en wat een ervaring! Vanaf het moment dat we binnenkwamen, zorgde de gastvrouw voor een warme en gastvrije sfeer. Het eten was simpelweg fantastisch – verfijnd, prachtig gepresenteerd en vooral ontzettend smaakvol. De chef is recht voor de raap, en dat proef je in zijn gerechten: puur, eerlijk en met liefde bereid. Kortom, een topavond op alle vlakken. Heerlijke gerechten, een gezellige ambiance en een team dat weet hoe ze hun gasten in de watten moeten leggen. Een absolute aanrader!

I have been there twice and the first time was amazing. There was nothing on the menu that I disliked. Second time was quite different. The food was not perfect with some strange combinations. Atmosphere is top notch with only the chef and his wife running the restaurant. He comes and talks with the customers and creates the mood.

Our dining with Danyel was the absolute highlight of our visit to Maastricht. Can't wait to come back.

Este es un restaurante excepcional con un gran chef que da una gran atención personalizada a la comida y a los clientes. Cada plato era delicioso y complejo. Excelentes vinos fueron elegidos para acompañar cada plato. Me encantaron las vieiras con dos tipos de trufas y la bisquería de mariscos era excelente. El venado estaba tierno y delicioso y en una gran salsa. Ojalá viviera más cerca y pudiera regresar fácilmente.

He estado viviendo parcialmente en Maastricht durante los últimos 6 años, así que he probado la mayoría de los restaurantes, cafeterías y bares. Teníamos el menú de la Carta Blanca con 3 platos por 45 €, (4 platos son 55 €, 5 son 65 € y así sucesivamente) Y no tienes que tomar un postre en los 3 platos, así que tuvimos 2 entrantes y 1 plato principal por 45 €. Si tomas el menú Bib Gourmand por 39 € te ves obligado a tomar un entrante, principal y postre. Teníamos salmón, lubina y cordero, los 3 platos era de muy alta calidad, que fácilmente se puede comparar con Beluga, que se considera que es el mejor restaurante de Maastricht. El cocinero, Danyel, vino a nuestra mesa y nos explicó todo muy bien y de una manera agradable - gracias ♥ El restaurante no está realmente interesado en el vino, lo que es una lástima para mí como amante del vino. Tienen alrededor de 20 vinos diferentes en la carta de vinos, pero ninguno de especial interés. Así que después de su comida le sugiero que vaya al bar de vinos Via Mucca o restaurante Il Bacaro en Vrijthof, ambos a aproximadamente 1 km y 10 - 15 minutos a pie, para disfrutar de una copa de vino ♥

Absolutely wonderful food I cannot express fully how wonderful Restaurant Danyel is. We spent a few years in Europe and always found awesome food especially in Maastricht, however we always found ourselves coming back here. Danyel and Mariska are amazing and were so supportive and excited with every question we had with food, Europe, wine and their experiences, they (and the food!) make this place very special. The first time we ate here it was by chance on one of our first dates and the welcome we received along with the food brought us back over and over again. We were happy to find this place before my wife and I got married and proud to show Danyel and Mariska when we got married. A date night here is never wasted. We have recommended this restaurant to our friends many times and they have always come back ecstatic with the same experiences we had. Thank you Danyel and Mariska for your warm kindness and smiles. you really do have something very special.

Ate here with two people. What a great evening we had. We received a very friendly welcome from the hostess and not much later the chef. Danyel came by several times and we had a great time chatting and laughing. The food was excellent. We got an extra course with the chef's signature dish. Foie gras from Hungary with apple compote. “Chicken liver sausage with apple sauce” as he called it. And that says enough about the atmosphere. For me the perfect combination between good food and a wonderful, casual atmosphere.

Toptent 👌🏻 Heerlijk gegeten, grote porties, veel variatie. Ongedwongen sfeer, zeker voor herhaling vatbaar. Een knap staaltje teamwork makes the dream work. Mariska en Danyel dank je wel voor de gezellige avond en het heerlijke eten en drinken.

I wished i could have given more than 5 stars. The food is excellent, as expected from a Michelin star restaurant, but the hospitality given to us made this a superb experience. The knowledge and approachability of the chef, the hospitality of the waitress and her knowledge about the combination of food and drinks and intimate vibe of the restaurant made this very special for us. We entered as strangers, but we left as friends!

We came to Danyel as part of our first visit to Maastricht. The city offers a lot for culinary experiences, but Danyel caught our eye fast - and it didn’t disappoint. Restauranteurs Danyel and Mariska are kind, inviting and great at their game. Restaurant offers only course based menus, you can choose form 5 to 8 courses - great for sustainability (no waste) and creativity of the chef. We had a umami style salmon sashimi starter salad, followed by a fish based vegetable soup. After came pan seared cod with saffron pumpkin puree and followed by a second main, a picanha with grilled veggies and a fantastic jus. The jewel of the night is the one pictured: homemade chocolate ganache and melon ice cream with salted caramel nut base. What a finish. All of our meals were paired with great wine thanks to Mariska and service and discussion felt like we visited a friend - and other customers were feeling the same. All and all, a great experience overall - and the food is amazing too! We’ll be back for sure :)

A very friendly welcome, a menu with several courses is offered to us, from 3 to 7 courses, depending on the arrival of the day. So a little difficulty choosing a wine. Apart from that, you can go there with your eyes closed. Nice discovery outside of Maastricht, not far from Saint-Pierre mountain.

Had an amazing birthday dinner here. Both Mariska and Daniel are great host. Aside from that the food was very very good. This is the restaurant that won’t pretend. Just good food. Good service and very reasonable price. We’ll see you soon!

A "repas du dimanche midi" as you normally only find in France. Delicious dishes (oysters, the succulent foie gras maison, bisque with fried skrei and fresh Stellendam shrimps, the homemade and delicious confit de canard,...) from Danyel, combined with the surprising, harmonious wines and digestifs from Mariska. Above all, the warm, personal and authentic atmosphere, where the passion for good food and drinks brings people together and connects them. A wonderful place!

New Year’s Eve dinner. Great food and many courses! The team was working really hard and remained pleasant and patient throughout the night. I would definitely recommend this place for a quiet dinner date with sophisticated cuisine and romantic ambiance.

Een no nonsens plek waar niet alleen de gastvrouw als chef puur, eerlijk, oprecht en zuiver is maar ook dat wat je ziet en proeft op het bord. Laat je culinair verassen. Hier wordt nog op hoog niveau gekookt in atmosfeer waar je je thuis voelt. Mariska en Danyel bedankt. Wij zijn niet voor niets na onze eerste ervaring vorig jaar, dit jaar teruggekomen. De reis is het waard!

Heerlijk gegeten in een ongedwongen sfeer met franse klanken en goec gezelschap

Ontzettend genoten van het verrukkelijke eten en de gezellige karakteristieke chef-kok! Bijzondere smaken met mooie combinaties. Wij vonden de gastvrouw wat lomp overkomen. Misschien zijn wij het wat anders gewend, maar vonden haar niet zo gastvrij. We vonden dat niet zo goed passen. Leek alsof ze geen ervaring vanuit de horeca had en de etiquette kende. Dit stoorde ons soms wat qua beleving. Mijn partner ging voor werk even zijn afspraak op zijn telefoon checken en de gastvrouw komt ineens bij ons staan en zegt daarop grof “nou gezellig zo met die telefoon”. Wij waren gigantisch verbaast over deze uitspraak. Waar bemoei je jezelf mee? Ronduit ongastvrij. Het meisje wat er verder rond liep deed daarentegen wel weer erg gastvrij en leek regelrecht uit de horeca te komen. De chef-kok en het diner krijgen absoluut 5 sterren. Zeker een aanrader om eens heen te gaan wat betreft het eten. *Bijzonder wel dat mijn review als “ongepast” gemarkeerd werd. Mag een eerlijke review niet? Kinderachtig om zo van een dergelijke review af te willen komen. Volgens mij ben ik erg correct in mijn review, spreek ik zelfs lof uit over de chef en zijn creaties. Dat de gastvrouw ons niet beviel mag ook gewoon gezegd worden en zou je sieren als je dat gewoon oppakt als feedback i.p.v. het willen wegmoffelen.

Danyel en Mariska verzorgen een geweldige avond met de gemoedelijke sfeer, geweldige culinaire creaties en voortreffelijke service. Hun aandacht voor detail, flexibiliteit en hun oprechte missie om elke gast in de watten te leggen zouden een voorbeeld moeten zijn voor alle sterren restaurants. Hier staat het eten en de huiselijke ervaring centraal, het afgemeten maatpak en das laat je beter thuis, zo kan je genieten van een gezellige avond en met een beetje geluk een afsluitende limoncello van het huis!

Amazing food and overall experience

Heerlijke avond genoten van 19 uur tot middernacht. Het uitgebreidste verrassingsmenu genomen van 8 gangen. Bij reservering direct het hele bedrag moeten betalen, ben ik niet zo'n fan van overigens. De gerechten smaakten bijna allemaal goed, maar mij iets te veel ganzenlever (in 2 gerechten aanwezig). Daarnaast ben ik geen fan van een kaasplankje, die krijg je zonder vragen gepresenteerd. Als je reserveert moet je dit direct aangeven, dan verzinnen ze iets anders. (Ik zou dit, als restaurant zijnde, echter persoonlijk aan de tafel vragen ipv perse al bij de reservering, want je kent niet alle smaken van de tafelgenoten). Kortom: prima gegeten, goede sfeer, niet te formeel en geen poespas.

Wat een fijn restaurant! Door de gastvrouw en kok persoonlijk welkom geheten. Heerlijke gerechten mogen eten en flinke porties! Gezellige sfeer en top wijnen gedronken.

De sfeer is geweldig. De passie die Mariska en Danyel voor hun werk hebben is ongeëvenaard. Het eten is iedere keer weer een verrassing en een feestje in je mond. De wijnen sluiten uitstekend aan bij de gerechten. Op de vraag waar wij gaan eten, geven we steevast hetzelfde antwoord: danyels!!!

這是間無菜單料理, 主廚會來問你要幾道菜, 他會讓你選要4到8道菜, 服務人員是他太太 我們選擇的6道菜的料理 一人5歐的水費, 可無限續 麵包是現烤的, 奶油可以再點,烤得好吃,奶油也很香 ,也可無限續 1. 生蠔: 很新鮮, 最多就是鹽的調味, 一口吞下有甘甜的回甘 2. 生煎鮪魚; 下面搭泡菜, 半生半熟口感適中,完全不腥, 但又保留了彈性口感 3. 鵝肝: 很大一塊, 搭配甜菜根醬, 芒果, 餅乾, 藍莓, 蠻搭的, 4. 烤羊排: 偏鹹, 但是搭偏澀一點的紅酒簡直絕配, 入口即化, 搭配主廚現刮的松露, 再啜飲一小口紅酒, 幸福感爆增 5. 甜點: 有巧克力優格冰淇淋, 還有一塊巧克力搭配超濃的焦糖, 但點有太甜, 冰淇淋快溶化, 不是太冰, 不是太愛這一道 6. 起司: 當最後收尾, 因為之前只太多麵包有點吃不下, 打包隔天吃, 我個人蠻喜歡的, 雖然聞起來很臭, 但吃起來很香 一個人約90歐, 雖然沒有很fancy的餐飲空間, 但氣氛好, 戶外風景佳 算是蠻棒的體驗

Dieses Restaurant ist ein kleiner Edelstein in der niederländischen Kulinarik. Danyel hat schon bei Haeberlin und anderen namhaften Köchen sein Können bewiesen und kennt die Maastrichter Küche aus dem Effeff. Hier weiß einer nicht nur exakt, was er tut, sondern auch, warum er es tut. Die Gänge folgen einer klaren Logik und sind bestechend ehrlich und aromatisch treffsicher zubereitet. Der Service ist auf eine erfrischende Art freundlich und zugewandt, ich habe mich ab der ersten Minute wohlgefühlt. Bei Danyel dreht sich alles um das, was auf dem Teller (und im Glas) stattfindet. Das Wohlergehen des Gastes steht an erster Stelle. Und so liest man auf einem Schild: "no Dresscode", und das fasst einen wunderschönen Abend in diesem wohl einzigartigen Restaurant ganz gut zusammen. Besonders gelungen war in meinen Augen der Zander an beurre blanc und hausgemachter Pasta - nicht nur handwerklich sondern auch ästhetisch ein Highlight.

Voortreffelijk eten met kraakverse producten, smaakvol en ‘echte’ porties zonder veel opsmuk. Zes gangen met zes keer een zeer passende wijn in een ongedwongen sfeer bij mensen die terecht trots zijn op hun zaak. De rog was subliem, de risotto meer dan perfect en de zelfgestookte gin gevaarlijk lekker.

Which are then accompanied with a great choice of wines, suggested by Mariska, the wife and sommelier of Danyel. You simply feel that they love what they do there

Heerlijk uitgebreid geluncht in een ontspannen, gezellige, ongedwongen sfeer. Prima prijs-kwaliteit verhouding! Danyel en Mariska zorgen voor een zeer welkom gevoel... Een aanrader!

Geweldige plaats om lekker ,heel lekker te eten (advies..laat de chef zijn ding doen ).dan de bediening is erg goed ,het restaurant geeft je een gevoel dat je je heerlijjk thuis voelt gewoon lekker jezelf kan zijn dus al bij al een hele goede keuze om er te eten ,Danyel en zijn lieve vrouw zijn persoonlijk heel erg betrokken om het naar je zin te maken .

Leuk klein familie restaurant, echtpaar Mariska en Danyel doen het fantastisch, super, kom er zeker weer terug

Leuke zaak, ongedwongen en je gaat zeker niet met honger naar huis. Echter is het wel zo dat wanneer je “Michelin” kwaliteit verwacht het eten wat eenvoudiger over kan komen. Sommige gerechten missen wat complexiteit naar mijn mening. Verder is de service top en zullen ze er alles aan doen dat je een gezellig avond beleefd.
