We ordered a fish platter. It was incredibly disappointing. The salmon was a tiny little sliver, two very small pieces of eel, and a small piece of trout. I certainly would not choose this again, considering the price. The service was sweet.

Very nice food but portions a bit small

We have been visiting Bistro de Zilverzoen for over 15 years during our holidays in the Veluwe. It seems as if there has been an upgrade in the quality and presentation of the food. A truly cozy restaurant with very friendly service. The portions are generous, or you can just top up your order, and an extra portion of fries is left on the table. The food was delicious and well-maintained!

It was absolutely amazing! Everyone was so friendly and wonderful with our children. We truly enjoyed the food — the bread was simply outstanding, and the olives and dips that were served matched our taste perfectly. We visited this place for the first time three years ago, and we can honestly say that the quality and flavor are just as excellent as we remembered. All in all, it’s definitely worth a visit!

I've eaten there often in previous years, and it was always excellent. I went there again yesterday. Among other things, I ordered pancakes that were 3cm thick, which I found to be a huge disappointment. I complained about it. I was given the excuse that they'd already been made, but I didn't get a discount on the pancakes. To avoid further hassle, I paid. But this was absolutely terrible service and terrible food. You take responsibility for the food being bad. That's what makes a good restaurant. Food can go wrong. But don't blame the customer. It's a real turn-off. So, pass.

We ate here tonight. In a word: excellent. Both the appetizers and the main courses. And the service? Very attentive and focused on us. It was a wonderful evening, especially thanks to Juul!

A nice café in the central square. The service was very friendly and helpful. We sat outside at a comfortable, large wooden table. There are small, clean restrooms inside. Personally, I found the food lacking in flavor. One dish was simply forgotten. There's room for improvement here.

He politely remarked that the lunch eel was delicious, but the small sandwich was very small, not a proper lunch. They'd never heard of this before, said it was a great dish, and then walked away. Then I read here that other people have shared the same experience! So, nothing learned. Not worth repeating. Poor service.

What a disgrace. We thought we'd just relax on the terrace, but instead we got a masterclass in how to quickly chase away guests. The atmosphere was so cold and uninviting that even a bus stop has more charm. The service? Invisible. And when they finally showed up, they radiated that you shouldn't expect too much. No smile, no welcome, no idea what they were even doing there. As if they'd accidentally shown up for work. And then those nuts… My goodness. A pitiful bowl of dull, tough bits of misery that had probably been rotting on the table since last season. You wouldn't even feed them to a pigeon. In short: a waste of your time, your money, and your mood. If you like bad service, stale snacks, and zero atmosphere, this is your place. If not? Move on.

Very sad when you are not open on your opening time on Sunday morning and do not want to receive your guests. Very rudely spoken to. Also they would not sell food?

We were there on Saturday 14 June around 15:00. Just found a spot on the edge of the terrace. 20(!) minutes trying to get the attention of one of the waitresses, who went inside empty-handed when they had brought an order…. Eventually I walked to the bar myself where I wanted to place our order. A waitress walked with me and took our order, which then came quickly. Before she wanted to put down the two beers and a portion of bitterballen, I asked the question: “Can we sit down one table further?” The answer we got was: “That tray weighs a kilo, you know!” Very much against our principles, no tip given. A place to skip as far as service is concerned.

Very mediocre coffee. Probably machine coffee.

Stupid staff, they didn't seem to like our bullshit. Had to wait 45 minutes for a drink which is also quite excessive.

The service was friendly. We sat outside on the terrace with a nice lively view. We ordered, for lunch, brioche bread with eel, at €18 p.p. The portion of eel was large, in contrast to the sandwich. This sandwich was too little for a lunch! Two of these sandwiches should be the minimum in my opinion. I indicated to the staff that this was really too little for us for a lunch. We were offered coffee as compensation, but we declined. We wanted to leave to eat something. Fortunately we still had a bag of currant buns in the car, which we then ate. We will not return to this experience.

Had a lovely dinner, nice and not too big menu, a bit limited choice for vegetarians but the choice that is there is fine. Friendly and knowledgeable service, who also knows how to give great advice on what to choose. Had a great evening and we will definitely come back!

The restaurant was half empty but still it took half an hour to prepare dinner. The wrong dish was brought to one of us. Because we wanted to leave quickly and had waited so long, we took what they brought. A chicken satay, which was very unappetizing and dry. The tenderloin was fine. Never experienced this before: that you order "rare" and they ask if you are sure because it comes to the table lukewarm so if you don't want medium rare. We didn't have to pay for the chicken satay, that was a fine solution.

Aperol went like this. Food wasn't bad, but no more than OK. You can definitely eat here, but it's no longer our first choice.

Not even an apology... King's Day 2025. We sit down to have a drink with a tompouce. Hot chocolate ran out at 11am. Then something else. When we were almost done I stood up and my pants turned out to be wet. The chair I was sitting on was soaking wet! The following response to our report about this; maybe someone was there with wet clothes. Did you have rain on King's Day???..Nothing else. The chair was not put away, no towel was offered, no excuses.. never again here, plenty of restaurants in Elburg where they do not make excuses and do apologize!!

Leuke plek, de bistro is knus en het was niet te druk zelfs niet voor de paasdagen. De soep was echt heerlijk, zowel de tomaten als de asperge soep. De verhouding qua warm en lauw eten was uit balans, de stamppot die erbij kwam was lauw en de kabeljauw ook. De vis stoofpot kwam uit de oven en was dan weer onwijs heet. De prijs viel ons mee

Ran into a major disappointment. Yes, it was busy, but no, waiting more than an hour for your sandwich in advance is incomprehensible. Waiting more than an hour and a half for your food is also not funny. If your meat is overcooked and cooled to almost cold, then 2 stars remain. At checkout we were also not asked if we had enjoyed it; I think they knew that too. I'll skip Zilverzoen next time.

Vandaag ingechecked en tot nu toe werkelijk perfect. Een ruim appartement met van alles voorzien. Sommige reviews hier begrijp ik echt niet. Mensen denken echt vaak voor een dubbeltje op de eerste rij te zitten maar begrijpen niet hoe de horeca werkt. Eigenaar en personeel begrijpen echter heel goed hoe het werkt.Keurig schoon heel fijn personeel . Savonds gegeten, had de kip saté deze was heerlijk en ruim met alles erbij gratis pilsje bij aankomst. Dit is hoe je een verblijf graag ziet. Tot nu toe alle complimenten voor deze hardwerkende mensen. En ik heb nog 2dagen. Volop genieten bij zilverzoen

Afgelopen weekend hier twee cappuccino en twee appeltaart puntjes genuttigd. De gezelligheid vond ik uit deze entourage verwijderd en het was niet meer zo gezellig als voorheen. De cappuccino zat in een klein kopje en was niet goed warm, het puntje appeltaart was ook echt een puntje. De appeltaart was waterig en klein en zeer waarschijnlijk bij de supermarkt uit het schap gehaald en alles lijkt wel al kleiner en minder te worden, maar de prijs van €17,50 voor dit alles vond ik ronduit schandalig (bijna crimineel). U begrijpt dus wel dat wij hier nooit meer terugkomen. Goed als je iets wilt verdienen, maar er niets voor willen leveren dan houdt het op. Voorheen was het hier goed en prijs kwaliteit voldeed, maar nu. NOOIT MEER.

Sandwich was baked just right! Flavors were great too! The pine nuts were not fried, which would have completely finished it off. I definitely recommend this! Very tasty food

The food was very unfortunate, it took a long time and was substandard. The lady tongue was almost inedible due to the salty herbs. The fish and chips was more crust than fish and fried way too long, dry and chewy. A tasty treat from the fishmonger is 100 times tastier. So not recommended...

This was a downer! Limp fries, the fish & chips were 2 very small limp fish on a lump of fries. (For 27.50 euros I had high expectations for fish & chips.) The chicken satay was middle of the road with a tasteless satay sauce. High prices are okay, but you have to make something of it! Very unfortunate. Sweet service!! They hear this more often, unfortunately.

You should definitely avoid this place, the service was hard to find. I ordered something to drink and the people who came 5 minutes after me had received their order before us, my wife asked where is our order, the girl said you have just been here 10 minutes. This really hits the nail on the head, the people who ordered after us were served earlier. My wife, who is from Brazil, felt discriminated against because she asked where our order was and the waiter looked at her with narrowed eyes to see if she wanted to say something. This was the last straw for us: poor service and discriminatory staff.

Wat een afknapper!! We hadden ons verheugd op een gezellig etentje, maar het eten was weinig smakelijk, zag er niet uit en was ook nog (te) koud. Of het nu kwam door de dodenherdenking weten we niet, maar het leek alsof de kok het vuur had uitgezet tijdens de 2 herdenkingsminuten. Nooit meer naar toe.

Nice atmospheric location with a beautiful terrace in the center of Elburg.

Mooie locatie, filodeegtaartje was echt heel erg lekker. Niet heel veel keuze uit wijn op glas. Gevulde varkenshaas was qua smaak lekker maar te droog. Kipnuggets vers, erg lekker vond ik zelf maar voor kinderen te pittig. De prijzen vrij hoog voor wat je krijgt. Een dame erg vriendelijk, andere wekte de indruk het niet naar haar zin te hebben.

After waiting 1.15 hours for food, our 2 salads arrived. A salad with, among other things, prawns was ordered, which was then missing. Both salads came without dressing; vinegar and oil were served on the table. The other salad should be vegetarian without meat, but also without fish and cheese. He then came without bread and aioli, saying he was vegan. That wasn't even ordered. When asked to bring this over, bread and prawns came. Ailo wasn't brought because he wasn't vegan...but the order was vegetarian. The bill included a salad with meat. After another complaint, we were not met. 19 euros for a green salad with peppers, tomatoes... and at the end some bread after a long wait

The food was terrible. Canned mushrooms, we only got fries once even though we ordered a lot of them, pasta tasted like nothing and bread was dry. The service didn't even know if they had vegan food. Preferably 0 stars

Ordered a glass of orange juice and a glass of milk. We got a glass of orange juice and a glass of milk. Man, man, what a loser. Skimp on the two cheapest drinks. So little. Just pour a larger glass. (See picture)

Spent 23 minutes on the phone, next in line, then I hear rumbling with signs and voices in the background, but no one speaks to me. Finally hung up and booked another restaurant. This is very bad!

What a nice and atmospheric spot in the middle of the beautiful fortified town of Elburg. Definitely recommended to spend the night here. We received a very warm welcome and slept wonderfully in this apartment, furnished with a sense of style

The lunch was very tasty but the portions were very small for the amount you paid.

Arrived at six, drink and card delivered quickly! Drink two and us for, was very tasty. And then it was quiet... it really took too long, no drink in between. Main courses were not as we had expected, limp fish on a mountain of fries, the pasta with creamy pesto sauce, little sauce but a scoop of pesto and some cold small tomatoes and chicken. Much too high in price. I did give a tip to see if the ladies could laugh... catering is a profession, you can learn this, but you also have to want to do it. All in all €105.- including tip is a lot of money for an unremarkable experience.

Mooi en smaakvol restaurant, kan niet anders zeggen! Totdat je gaat eten... Voorgerechten waren nog redelijk. Als hoofdgerecht hadden we de lady tong, 3 x. We merkten meteen dat ze niet gaar (hard en rood op de graat) waren. Álle 3! Gerechten meegenomen en nieuw gekregen na 20 minuten. Deze keer wel gaar, maar totaal smakeloos, geen zout, visje smaakte tranerig. Wat we nog het ergste vonden: dat er iets flink mis gaat... dat kan, maar biedt even een glaasje wijn of kopje koffie aan. Dan laat je je goede wil zien. Rekening betaald en zonder dessert of koffie vertrokken. "Tot ziens" werd gezegd....Denk het niet!!

Delicious food. We each had a starter and a main course. The portions are so large that we will share the starter next time. We think it's a shame if we can't finish it and have eaten too much to have another dessert.

Great place to relax for a while. Small but cozy. We were disappointed with the drinks platter we had. Very much of the same. Not recommended in my opinion.

End of 2022: Good food and friendly staff. Unfortunately we kept being forgotten; first drink and then eat. The food was tasty, the salads in particular are recommended. Update 2023: recently went here again for a retake. We were helped nicely and I had the salad with various cheeses. Unfortunately there was no dressing included. Use is made of the oil/balsamic vinegar that is placed on the table. That made it better.

We ate delicious pumpkin soup and soles here. The service was also very friendly. We would go here again, thank you!

Top bedrijf, zeer leuke gezellige en sfeervolle ambiance. Perfecte leuke spontane bediening met een glimlach 😃, zoals het hoort in de horeca, wat je lang niet meer overal meemaakt. Ook hebben de jonge serveersters tijd voor advies en hebben ze verstand van hun werk. 💯 % aanrader.. alles klopt, ik vind dit het beste stekje op het horeca pleintje 👌

We kozen voor de lunch voor de Zilverzoen. Wij hebben door de jaren heen regelmatig op deze locatie gegeten, ook nog toen de naam ‘De Vischpoort’ was. Toen de Zilverzoen net verbouwd was en een nieuwe eigenaar kreeg was het altijd fantastisch eten, elk gerecht had iets speciaals. Bijvoorbeeld de unieke smakelijke kerriesalade die vaak als garnituur geserveerd werd. Eigen gemaakte sausen, dressings.. verrassende producten en smaken. Helaas was onze ervaring vandaag anders. Zelfs de rauwkost had geen enkele culinaire toevoeging, geen dressing, geen interessante twist. Daarnaast werden we niet heel gastvrij bediend. Er werd gemopperd onder het personeel wat goed te horen voor de gasten hoorbaar was. De borden werden opgediend, een ‘eet smakelijk’ kwam niet.. we voelden ons bijna teveel. We gaan zeker nog eens terug, vertrouwend hebben dat het een eenmalige ervaring was.

Voor de lunch bestelden wij allebei een pannenkoek, één met appel en één met spek en kaas. Er werd ons verteld dat de kok ze zelf bakt, het zijn geen voorgebakken prefab pannenkoeken. Nee, dat waren het inderdaad niet, maar wat ze wel waren, weet ik niet. We vonden ze beiden nogal 'gummie', het leek alsof er een raar soort deeg was gebruikt. Uiteindelijk hebben we het wel opgegeten maar toen de serveerster vroeg of we lekker hadden gegeten, heb ik toch gemeld wat we ervan vonden. Het meisje zei dat ze het aan de keuken zou doorgeven. Nu hoor je dat vaker in restaurants als je een opmerking over het eten maakt. Maar nooit komt er een reactie terug uit de keuken. En dat vind ik toch een raar iets. Ik begrijp dat de kok zelf niet kan komen om iets te bespreken, maar ik zou dan de serveerster uitleg geven en vragen of ze dat aan de klant wil doorgeven. Zo laat je weten dat feedback wordt gewaardeerd en dat je je klant serieus neemt als er wordt gevraagd of het lekker was. Gemiste kans denk ik bij Zilverzoen.

Een leuke bistro met vriendelijke bediening in het centrum van Elburg. Gelegen op een erg leuke locatie. Het terras is sfeervol ingericht. Ook binnen is het sfeervol ingericht. Het was er gezellig druk. Jammer dat onze bestelling niet goed werd opgenomen. Er kwam slechts één kopje koffie en mijn echtgenote kreeg water die ze niet besteld had. Vervolgens wachten op een koffie die nooit is gekomen. Wordt nog wat als het seizoen echt begint.

We kregen een karrig stukje appelstudel in een groot bord met vanillesaus en slagroom.

Gisteren lekker gegeten en gedronken op het terras. Goeie bediening en vriendelijk! Lekker genoten!

Das Restaurant ist klein aber fein. Die Bedienung war nett, man musste nicht lange auf das Essen warten. Das Essen war richtig lecker. Toiletten sind klein aber es reicht😄 Empfehlung!👍

Teveel tafels in 1 ruimte. 1 uur zitten wachten op ons bestelling. Lunch gelukkig ok.

Wir waren hier zum Lunch an einem Dienstag. Die Lunchkarte bietet eine große Auswahl an kleinen Speisen. Wir hatten Burger, Lachs Bagel (Tageskarte), Tomatensuppe und Lachsbagel. Alles war sehr lecker und wir werden bestimmt wieder kommen

Het omrijden waard. Door de twee voordeuren van het pand, met aan beide zijden terras aan de straatzijde, een beetje verwarrend hoe je naar binnen moet. Maar eenmaal binnen, in deze niet al te grote horecazaak, bespeur je dat hier liefde, kwaliteit en optisch smaakvolle aandacht die aan het uitserveren en eten wordt besteed.
