We had such a beautiful afternoon and evening here. The food was divine. Lovely atmosphere. Attentive and kind service. Why did we wait so long to return? Cannot wait to come back. Thank-you for everything. What wonderful chefs and staff.

A beautiful evening in Amsterdam in a very good restaurant.

A bit disappointing. We were able to book a table for Friday evening the day before. When we arrived we were greeted in a friendly way and given a nice table. After about 10 minutes the sommelier, asked if we wanted to see the wine menu, but we were not given the food menu's. So we decided to just have a glass of wine, since we had no idea what we were going to be eating. I further found the way that the sommelier acted was a bit arrogant and patronising. I can maybe understand it if he would be working in a 3 Michelin star restaurant, but not in a bistro.. The food was fine, bouillabaisse, tartare de boeuf and goose liver for starter were fine. We decided to have the special of the day, which was a beef Wellington for two. As it was for two, I expected it to be a small Wellington or similar, but I was surprised when they just served two slices of Wellington on a plate. Why did this have to be ordered for two people? It came with some salad and fries. The beef was nicely cooked, but the pastry was very soggy and for some reason they had wrapped the inside layer (which I assume was a crepe) with lettuce leaves, which was a first for me in a Wellington. So I was not blown away, and my son told me he preferred the Wellington I make at home.. My wife's bouillabaisse was fine. She did throw up all night, but we are not sure what caused that, and as I had the same thing as a starter and I had no issues, I don't think it was the bouillabaisse. But overall, we left with mixed feelings, and I am not in a hurry to return.

Delicious burger with fries, good atmosphere and pleasant service

We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary here at Neuf. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly. They also took my husband's onion allergy into account (bad experiences with many restaurants, but not here). Not only do they think along carefully, they also replace the onion with another ingredient so that the dish still tastes delicious! All in all, the food was delicious, although on the pricey side, but that's OK for the products they use.

We were welcomed as a family with ease and warm cordiality. Excellent service, with cuisine close to a Michelin star. The little touches and politeness from the waitresses/waiters. A very nice place to enjoy yourself, a great discovery, I would go back there sometime!

Delicious dishes from a great kitchen but also and above all great service!

Our favorite place to go for dinner in Amsterdam. We often come down from Rotterdam for the night to visit Amsterdam and just can’t resist not going here. The whole team is so nice, have a lot of knowledge about all the products and create a very nice and welcoming atmosphere. The food is to die for. The chefs in the kitchen really nailed it. The flavours are amazing and the dishes are really well put together and presented. My absolute favorite is the lamb, when it’s on the menu. I would recommend this place to anyone if you are looking for a cozy night with a lot of ambience, outstanding service and amazing high quality dishes.

Too bad I can't give more than 5 stars. Impeccable service, but the dishes prepared by the chef reign supreme. An explosion of flavours, and real little works of art. Compliments!

The restaurant is beautiful and quiet. The service is excellent. I ordered steak, appetizers, and tiramisu. Honestly, the chef wins. He was creative in mixing the flavors in each dish and had a distinctive taste. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Chef.

Nice place to eat, with an impressive wine list. The service is Dutch-speaking and familiar with their own wines, so you also get sensible advice. Tip for the kitchen brigade. Don't overcomplicate the classics. The steak tartare is tasty, but better without all the fuss. That disrupts the mouthfeel. Same with the brioche with duck liver (or was it goose). Fairly sweet. Keep it pure. Furthermore, the charcuterie is highly recommended.

Perfectly measured portions for the four-course menu, friendly staff and good service. Only a slightly too small space in the separate seating area, especially if there are 10 people in it and everyone is trying to chat at the loudest. Can be disruptive.

Overall a superb French experience in Amsterdam. I had dinner with a friend here earlier in the year, the atmosphere is cozy and warm. I had the Dover sole with beurre noisette, pilaf rice with dried fruit and nuts. The sole was soft and flaky, and I liked the contrast in texture and flavor with the rice. Dessert was great too, although I don't like raspberry, the chocolate mouse was very rich.

I only had drinks. But it's nice. The decoration and cleanliness.

This is my favorite restaurant in Amsterdam. The food is impeccable, and the service is absolutely beyond words. The entrecote is absolutely beautiful. I've had four of my favorite meals ever at Bistrot Neuf and can't wait to go back.

This place was excellent. The food and the service were great.

The place immediately gives a good impression, the maitre d' in fact aims to immediately pamper the customer by having his coats handed to him and accompanying him to the table with a smile. The environment has an open kitchen and both high and low seats, furthermore there is also the possibility of eating at the counter. However, the excellent service from all the staff left me with some doubts about the food: while the escargot and chicken were good and well-executed dishes, I found the tartare very unbalanced. In fact, the black garlic and onion were very predominant and completely numbed my mouth throughout the meal. For the rest, however, an interesting place. Slightly overpriced (€80 per person for 2 dishes each and a bottle of red for 4).

Excellent all round. I had dinner here last night with a friend for the first time and, what a pleasant surprise. We had the 3-course menu, quite well priced given the quality of the food. The wine pairing was excellent and they were flexible given that I didn’t want the full pairing. The service was pleasant and flawless and the atmosphere lovely, warm and comfortable. I will definitely be back!

Recently had dinner at Neuf with former colleagues and it was an excellent experience. We started with an aperitif of champagne and three different types of oysters, all of which were delicious. We then enjoyed various dishes, all well-seasoned and prepared with care. The service was really excellent and the staff very welcoming. The value for money was reasonable, all in all appropriate for the experience. The location, a short distance from Amsterdam Central Station, also makes it very accessible. Definitely recommended!

Had a delicious late lunch. You will see us again soon for an extensive dinner!!

Great restaurant with great dishes!, will definitely come here again

Our experience here on Aug 11 was 10 out of 10. My son had the chef four course menu and I ordered lobster ravioli and lamb chops, all came in over our expectations. We also shared escargots. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that likes to have a fine dining experience. The waitress was friendly and attentive, but not overwhelming. The bathroom was clean and well maintained. All in all, we were very happy.

First of all, thank you to the chef, he is a close and friendly person, and also the atmosphere is very calm and pleasant. Everything you choose is going to be good, but I would highlight the rib that I attached in the photos, each ingredient was so good as to bring a tear to your eye. The price depends on the quality of life in the city, taking into account the food the price is very correct. I highly recommend going and listening to the chef's recommendations.

We absolutely loved our dinner at Bistro Neuf. We chose to eat outside on the sidewalk. We ordered the lamb rack and steak frites. Both were cooked perfectly. Service was excellent. The value was also good. I highly recommend this place and hope to eat there again on my next trip to Amsterdam.

Stayed in Amsterdam for 1-2 days and stumbled upon this restaurant. We had the steak tartare, escargot & monkfish. The monkfish was the best one we’ve had and it might even be the best fish we’ve had. Highly recommend if you want good French food.

The halibut with baby squid, saffron fideua, roasted bellpepper, and a garlic almond sauce was very, very good. The foamy sauce tasted amazing and made it look like a delicacy. Tasteful modern yet warm interior. Thanks, guys!I'll be back.

The Lamb Is fantastic. I really recommend it.

Mediocre restaurant, very arrogant and inept service. We ordered the lamb neck because we had seen it at the neighbors and it looked good. A beautiful piece of pink lamb neck. However, we received a bad piece of meat, completely overcooked and small and almost unfinished. The same dishes that came off the pass looked completely different. After indicating this we got a piece of MUCH BETTER meat on another plate. When we asked for recognition we were met with a turned up nose, extremely arrogant and incompetent. No apology but a lame story about supplier A and B. That was really a stupid thing to discuss. Garnish was also poor, limp and tasteless, both for the lamb neck and lobster. By the way, everything else was great and we were helped well with the wine. Nevertheless, we had a bad evening because you couldn't even apologize. 2 espressos on the bill would have been enough and compensated with a tip, some catering staff can see that. We are your guests, not the other way around, and we felt unwelcome. Perhaps we had not made enough of an impression because we drank tap water and house wine. Finally, no thank you when paying by card (150 euros) and not being able to say "goodbye" when leaving. Embarrassing for you. Photos for comparison: Ours vs. a photo of someone who had gone to dinner the day before. Anyone with eyes can see (unless you work at Bistrot Neuf) that we received a bad dish.

Cannot express how nice of an evening myself and my friends had here. The dinner was amazing, everything was so flavourful and fresh. Really recommend getting the escargot. Service was a 12/10, the staff were very informative about the food and wine and were so nice especially Anna. Price was actually surprisingly reasonable for the quality of food and service you receive. Would definitely recommend.

Atmosphere is so cozy and chill, I loved it. The food is fantastic and the service is beyond perfect.

The food was very good but their AC was out and instead of having a fan going (at least!) we were seated in back area- lovely but a sweat box - we were then moved to the bar area a good 10 degrees cooler but seated in cheap vinyl bar stool and not table cloth at a Formica plastic table (yeah more sweat) we didn’t leave because this is one of those places you’ve got to put a deposit down to get a table so it would have cost us 50. And being Saturday night getting another place last minute would have been impossible ….while the food and wine were good if the AC is out don’t pretend it isn’t a bad situation and let your customers know in advance so they can make other reservations on a Saturday night- Just not good form at all.

Best dinner in Amsterdam that I have had in my 14 years here. For sure we come again try some other dishes We had 4 courses menu , which were worth of every €€ Every dish was beautiful & super tasty

First time eating and drinking here again after the renovation. What a good atmosphere! Dishes have also been taken to a higher level. The wines were delicious as always. Professional, knowledgeable service. It seemed very relaxed despite the crowds. Good looking! The highlight was definitely the Lobster ravioli with bouillabaisse sauce. But actually everything was perfect. I think the price-quality ratio is very well balanced. Had a truly fantastic evening. Thanks!

Great food, good quality but things to improve. Good staff, filled our water glass on time. Attentionated. - very slow service (we did not order dessert because it was too long) - the sitting area at the back on the right is not nice as the rest of the restaurant. We were very disappointed to sit there. It is not gezzelig. Adding some mirroirs and paintings on the wall would help. On top of that the servers attention is hard to get since they do not see us .

My favorite restaurant in Amsterdam. The gnocchi is absolutely beautiful. One of the best things I've ever eaten, if not the best.

Despite the previous reviews from others, not much has been done about the time blocks. When booking, it was unclear that only 2 hours are available for early eaters (6:00 PM). Food is fine and a nice wine list, but everything is rushed, not calm service but also rushed. At 7:45 PM there was already a call to hurry up. Feels like eating, leaving your money and on to the next one. Such a shame, because what potential this restaurant has. Then we visited a fantastic wine bar in Amsterdam North where the customer is really King.

Lovely atmosphere with old school charm. Quite close to the train station. It's very cosy on a rainy day, coffee is served with lovely belgian chocolate and a sweet bite.

Great French cuisine...not to be missed

Was definitely good!! atmosphere was good, food was nothing to complain about and certainly special compared to standard restaurants. What I think is a shame is that due to the time slots you are in, the service seems very rushed, so you are not very calm and relaxed. Normally in this price class I eat very relaxed all evening, that is certainly not the case here, I feel like you are being forced out of the tent asap because everything has to be served within a certain time frame due to new reservations.

Delicious 4 course meal and great service!

We had a delicious meal and were well looked after by the waiter. He also came up with a good tip for a wine. The sirloin steak is highly recommended. We would like to come back, also to celebrate our anniversary, because it started here with us.

Small restaurant, uncomplicated atmosphere and stellar food and wines. It’s not cheap, and one of my oysters was minuscule, but they were delicious and the wines well matched. Highly recommended.

The best French bistro in Amsterdam! The service was 5*, you get to see the kitchen, everything fresh and authentic! I will definitely come back! The restaurant owner has a wine shop next door which has a wide variety of wines! The location is also great! A lot of shops in the center! ❤️❤️❤️

Von außen unscheinbar aber drinnen geht die Post ab. Essen auf hohem französischen Niveau und gutem Wein. Nicht übertrieben teuer aber auch kein schnapper . Aber mal was anderes in Amsterdam :-) sehr zu empfehlen

Prima restaurant. Zeer uitgebreide wijnkaart. Goed advies van vriendelijke sommelier. Erg lekker gegeten alleen witte wijn was iets te warm en lamskoteletten iets te lauw. Gezellige ambiance. Totaalindruk een 7,5 afgerond 4 sterren.

De bistro kan niet waar maken wat ze proberen uit te stralen. Een erg zoute keuken. Prijs- kwaliteit niet in verhouding. 12.50 voor een glaasje petit chablis vind ik wel erg veel.

Good service, nice ambiance with all the wine bottles. We had a lovely conversation with the waitress about some of the wine bottles. They recommended great wines and we took the menu which was excellent. Pace of serving was perfect and we had a lovely time. Price is correct for the quality of food.

Edit - 6th review: I went for another time and do totally regret this decision. We took the chefs menu and realized (yet again) that this chef is likely a sadist who enjoys torturing his guest. The main course wasnt meat but more something like rubber/gum. What kind of loser chef do you have to be to serve your guest this type of …? The lady in the service will get a separate review by my collegue since she did put the cherry on top when it comes to ruining someones dinner. The young guy in the service tried to fix his supervisors mistakes by providing us an incredible service. But the rest is truly a 0. ————————— Edit - 2nd review: I went for another time and had my wife and kids with me. As they were in a rush for the table we took mains only. First glass of champagne came in a broken glass. Then the waiter forgot me and I grabbed 2nd glass myself from the bar which was old and not enjoyable - no bubbles and slight vinegar taste. At least it was on house but i rather pay and get a quality drink. We took the Cote de Boeuf for 3 which in terms of meat quality was a total disappointment and almost a joke. The meat was of very very poor quality (full of fat/tendons and gum-like consistency - see photo) and not cooked to the desired grade (med rare instead of med) and there were 2 portion of fries with it although I ordered for 3. I went with the whole lobster which was a bit on the dry side but fresh and ok/eatable. I was a returning guest since my office building is around the corner but will rethink this. I am really super disappointed… The waiter who served us and the chef/kitchen should really feel ashamed serving us such "food". Hint: You should try De Belhamel around the corner or Mr Porter (best steaks/meat) if you like impressive and CONSISTENT high quality food. —————— First review: Great location with cozy interior and most importantly delicious food.
