Excellent in every way...lovely staff, delicious food and fabulous atmosphere. Next time we are in Amsterdam we will definitely be back.

We went for our anniversary, and it was the best dinner of our entire stay in Amsterdam. The staff couldn't have been nicer, finding the best location for us. As for the food, it was top-notch, everything was delicious. We'll definitely be back.

Fantastic food, attentive, friendly staff in gorgeous art-nouveau decor room, with a stunning view down a classic Amsterdam canal. There's also a cosy bar area (see photo). Really nice wines available for each course too. And a lot cheaper than it would be in London. Turned out Jamie Oliver had ordered the same main I did (catch of the dsy - pike with artichoke) a couple of weeks before when he was in for his 25th wedding anniversary. My wife met him on his stag do in Brighton all those years ago - a nice little coincidence (NB she said he and his brother in law to be were really nice).

Very friendly young team, the food was delicious and looked amazing. A beautiful spot on the water with a view of the canals. Highly recommended.

We were SO impressed with the service here! We ordered our food and suddenly my friend did not feel well. They took such great care of him and offered him honey etc. They even helped us cancel our mains and takeaway the starters that arrived. For the starters we had they were amazing and we can’t wait to be back for the full menu! Honestly, the place with the best service and food I’ve seen and huge thank you to the entire crew that helped!!!

Restaurant De Belhamel – A Sophisticated Dining Experience I had lunch at Restaurant De Belhamel in Amsterdam and was thoroughly impressed. The setting, right by the canal, is beautiful and elegant — a perfect match for the refined cuisine. We ordered a plate of oysters and a dish featuring black caviar, along with a few additional starters and mains. Everything was fresh, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. The oysters were a particular standout — perfectly chilled and full of flavor. Unfortunately the service was unable to tell us about some of the dishes and was completely disoriented ,but the atmosphere felt both relaxed and upscale. De Belhamel is a great choice for those who appreciate quality ingredients, classic techniques, and a quiet, elegant dining experience. Highly recommended.

The food and service are both very good, I give it 4.1-4.2 stars. But the indoor dining environment is not good! The seat is a little small (which is barely acceptable), the worst thing is the chair, which is super hard and the sitting area is super small. The design of the chair is not ergonomic, and it is super uncomfortable to sit on! This should be one of the top three most uncomfortable restaurant chairs I have ever used! I can only give 3 stars for this chair! Sorry! I hope that the chair can be changed to a more comfortable one next time I come.

We celebrated a birthday with dinner & it was perfect! We were sat at a gorgeous table right on the canal bridge, and immediately brought birthday champagne (non alcoholic for me was available!). The staff were all wonderful, incredibly kind, friendly, and just fun all around. There was even a candle on a cake! They truly helped make this birthday dinner a wonderful memory forever. (the food was great too!) Highly recommend!

My partner and I have been visiting this place for our date nights for a while. The food is always delicious. We really enjoy the steak tartar. The service is always great and the atmosphere is cozy and romantic.

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch sitting by the canal drinking our wine and beers and eating some of the most unique food. The carpaccio was served in a unique way, wrapped around a salad of very interesting, tasty greens. The croque madame was huge and perfectly cooked.

Best dinner we have had in Amsterdam so far. Great atmosphere, even better if you manage to sit outside. Good service too. The food really stands out from the other places in the area, everything we ate was delicious (the ravioli were a bit salty, though, but you could still see they were fresh and carefully prepared). They were also very accommodating of my food intolerance. Would recommend.

Really bad food. We got dinner. The tarte tatin was the only good thing. The shrimp bisque tasted bad. The lobster tagliatelle tasted even worse. My salmon dish had cold potatoes, a cold and disgusting sauce, and the salmon had a funky taste. The food looks great, but it was awful all around. It's a pretty restaurant, though.

Made reservations for dinner, and it was amazing! The attention right from the entrance was just perfect. The venue inside (it was rainy and windy evening, so terrace was not an option) is old, authentic and amazing. The food - with sufficient vegetarian options, was a big surprise! In the general simplified landscape of Dutch catering - this French blend really works. The flavors for starters and main course (catch of the day) were impeccable. The only small note was that when ordering sides - some dishes (the salmon) already had potatoes and we ended up with too much food. Absolute highlight was the desert - the advocaat egg liquor and whisky based treat, which closed the night on absolute high note. Massive recommend and will return!

Very pleasant restaurant in a quiet part of the Amsterdam city centre. Delicious dishes with lots of flavour such as the Dutch shrimp bisque. We ate with 4 people and had the chef's menu with suggested wines. BURNT LEEK ROULLEAU, herb butter, leek-lime espuma, smoked wild salmon, garden herbs *** HOLLAND SHRIMP BISQUE, CROUTONS *** CLASSIC DUTCH ASPARAGUS, new potatoes, house roasted ham, boiled eggs, butter sauce ADVOCAAT ‘SABAYON’, RED FRUIT, HAZELNUT CRUMBLE Service was very pleasant. Beautiful interior. Acoustics of the room were on the loud side. Delicious smells from the kitchen under the restaurant give the feeling that everyone is sitting at the chef's table.

Delicious food and warm but professional service in a idyllic environment. Right in front of the canals, but protected from the crazy. So super central, but feels intimate. Food was surprisingly good, and reasonable prices considering the experience. Perfect for lunch outside in a sunny day!

Wonderful meal with incredible French options, aligned to the season (it was white asparagus season for our visit). We went with some seasonal and some house specialties. We sat outdoors at a table on a bridge overlooking the canal; ideal for people and boat watching. The servers were extremely attentive. What a lovely evening. Note: we had a reservation.

I didn’t have a reservation and had to sit inside at first despite the beautiful weather — but it honestly didn’t matter, because I still had a wonderful spot. I ordered the 4-course menu without knowing what to expect, and I was absolutely blown away. One thing’s for sure: it won’t be my last visit. Next time, though, I’ll make a reservation! The staff — and the owner — are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Absolutely loved it!

Very slow. The food took 90 minutes to arrive - I kid you not. It’s very pretty and the servers are friendly. But 90 minutes to serve the mains is hard on families

Beautiful atmosphere inside and along the canal. The lunch menu is well thought out. Escargot comes without shells — very tender and flavorful. Pasta was decent; the lobster stood out. The oeuf cocotte are a highlight. Expect a wait of about 30 minutes for food, but the quality justifies it.

The place was magical. We went there at sunset, they gave us the terrace and the staff was very amicable and fast. The carpaccio and tartar were sublime, the entrecote and catch of the day we incredible too and well priced. The only thing we didn’t like is the tagliatelle with lobster… wouldn’t order that again, but everything else was fantastic and can’t wait to come back!

This is a true fine dining restaurant. It is important that you know this when you come. We ate 2 kinds of starters: oyster and 3 crostini belhamel. We were very pleased with both of them (Do not order 3 crostini if ​​you do not consume pork) Then our main courses came. Steak Tartare was nice, if you like your meat very cooked and you will not eat uncooked egg yolk, do not order it. We ordered Dutch Shrimp Bisque, I am someone who loves everything, but it was too intense a taste even for me. Even though I wasn't sure, I was forced to eat tahini and basil together. Of course I finished it all, but it was difficult. We drank a glass of wine each. I think the wine menu showed that the restaurant was fine dining. We definitely should have eaten steak, the steaks on the adjacent tables looked good. We sat outside, it was difficult to sit at some tables as the floor was sloping. Be sure to make a reservation before you arrive, regardless of time.

Estuvimos en Amsterdam el fin de semana para celebrar nuestro aniversario de boda de plata y reservamos este restaurante después de ver recomendaciones en línea. ¡Estoy tan contenta de que lo hayamos hecho! Our anniversary dinner here was the most special thing I could have ever wanted

The setting and decoration are splendid, and that makes up a good part of the bill. The menu (three courses for us) was good, but far from exceptional. We expected to have more than two asparagus. The sabayon for dessert was delicious (lekker). The service is perfect. In short, (too) expensive to pay, but we had a good time, despite very (too) noisy guests upstairs.

Great servers but food not quite cutting it though they trying. Bisque is very unique flavor and maybe it is supposed to taste just like that - I don’t know - but it is a very particular and strong flavor if you want to order it ask for a taste first because we didn’t enjoy it. The steak might be fantastic and they put a BEAUTIFUL looking anyway sauce on it from a huge pot that stews for two days, so if you want steak this might be the place to go (but we didn’t order it). The burrata unremarkable. The tart tartin was excellent! 1/3 dishes above average and nothing a wow. Disappointed overall. Great place to sit!

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner celebrating her birthday at De Belhamel. The environment is exquisite, sitting right at the intersection of two canals but a bit off the main tourist thoroughfares. We greatly enjoyed each of our dishes, and the staff made us feel special throughout the evening. I highly recommend this spot, especially for couples looking for a romantic meal.

Very nice restaurant with a special atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food is not at all convincing - the menu price was too high for what was offered, carelessly prepared (dessert!) Mousseline was a kind of vanilla ice cream - not a harmonious taste experience. Lobster pasta boring and tuna tartare strange sour sauce. The fish dishes were of the fresh, top quality! It's a shame that the implementation (Würzburg) didn't work out that way. Confit de canard quite nice, but small portion. Thanks to the great place, I would come again.

Great restaurant on a beautiful canal. Canal-side tables are perfect on a sunny day. Excellent food also - had a great salad with chicken and French fries. Amazing spot!

Great food, great location, great service. Sunmy weather, a great canal view and good food! We had Onion soup, ceaser salad, enrecote, mussels and a chocolate lava cake accompanied by a Sauvignon Blanc and a rose. Wine was perfect! Onion soup had great flavor, a bit over seasoned but still good. Ceaser salad was a different take and flavorful. Entrecote was cooked perfectly! The mussels were good, a bit strong on the cumin flavor but still very good. Dessert was baked perfectly supported by a mocca ice cream. Definitely will visit again.

Had a delicious meal here tonight from the chef's menu. The ambiance of the restaurant was great (partly thanks to the beautiful interior). The dishes were somewhat simple but delicious. The waitresses were also friendly and helpful. All in all we had a great evening here, I'll definitely be back for a bite to eat and a drink at the bar

We went to De Belhamel on our two visits to Amsterdam, and we enjoyed our evenings very much. Superb location and a view, delicious food and perfect service. We are looking forward to our next trip to Amsterdam to visit this restaurant again.

Wonderful experience with nice rosé, delicious mussels, escargots, crispy fries, and mayo. The service was excellent—attentive, friendly, and fast. Beautiful views of the grachten make it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a nice time in a canal-side setting.

We had a business dinner in this great restaurant with an important foreign client. The management figured it out without any problem. Beautiful lady by the way. We received excellent help and all the time was taken. The food was also excellent, as were the wines. Highly recommended
