After a disappointing visit to another place, we passed by this restaurant and jumped in without checking the menu. Luckily they had a table for us and we enjoyed some excellent dutch mussels with some wine. Would recommend booking a table for this place

Had a lovely lunch here with my mom and grandmother. We ordered Caesar salads, catch of the day, fries, and bread with butter — the bread tasted wonderfully homemade. Everything was fresh and delicious, and the service was exceptionally kind, especially toward my grandmother. Cozy place, would definitely come back!😊

It was the second time I was there. My friend and I enjoyed the atmostphere of the restaurant. The food I ordered, Risotto geconfijte fazantenbout, was super delicious. The staff were very friendly and offered us suggestions for the interesting places nearby to go after dinner.

Staff was very very nice. All the people that served and welcomed us were really sweet. The food was solid for most part, it’s just unfortunate how the ravioli tasted acidic and bland to be honest. The tuna tartar was like every other tuna tartar, my risotto was good and the black tea creme brulee was amazing. I’m just a bit disappointed on the main course. The bill ended up being pretty high, and given that one of the two main course was pretty mid (in my opinion), I left the place with a bit of an itch.

It said it would be open until 22:00 and it was closed at 20:00. There was a lady vacuuming and she didn’t bother to even answer the phone.

Delicious food, friendly service, and a pleasant, atmospheric setting—the perfect combination for a cozy evening. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and are already looking forward to our next visit.

Good but not sure about value for money. Went as a group of three for dinner. I think I had high expectations as reservation deposit was high but it fell a little short. Had bone in my duck and the upstairs mezzanine was very hot and uncomfortable to sit in. Place has a lot of potential as food was generally very tasty, staff friendly and very well done but for the price I expected more.

I brought my parents here for dinner and we absolutely loved it. The place has such a warm, elegant atmosphere. The Art Nouveau interior and the view over the canals make it feel really special. The food was fantastic, especially the meat dishes, the entrecote and the tournedos Rossini were outstanding. The only thing I wasn’t crazy about was the terrine, I usually prefer it a bit creamier, but everything else was just perfect. Such a beautiful spot for a relaxed and memorable dinner in Amsterdam!

Wow, what a unique space with friendly staff and very good food! The view of the canal is gorgeous and the art nouveau interior is one of a kind - it’s a gem!

How can I tell you that this restaurant is just incredible in every way: fast and super friendly service, the quality of the dishes is just incredible, a little nod to the burrata starter which won me over. One thing is certain, the next time I'm in Amsterdam I'll go back there with my eyes closed.

What a find! It's not the cheapest but it is worth treating yourself. Amazing views right on the canal and bridge. Inside is pretty stunning too with art deco decor. There's fresh seafood specials and smiling waiting staff. Go on, your worth it!

Hidden gem. Perhaps to me the best restaurant in Amsterdam. Really good food, great vibe, cozy and excellent wine. Good value for money although it’s not super cheap ofcourse but very very nice place. Highly recommend it!

Went there for my birthday. The first thing one can see is how cozy the place is, it is as if someone invited you in a restaurant inside of a country house. The menu is not too big, but there is definitely some exquisite things in it. The stuff is very friendly and polite. The only negative thing is that it get quite hot and stuffy inside when there‘s 15+ people around you.

This is hands down the best french restaurant I have been to outside of France, and a very close second to the best restaurant I have tried in Paris. Every dish was perfect, inventive, packing flavor, genuineness, and passion. As a starter, I had the best burrata I have ever had (and this includes the many burratas I had at top restaurants in Italy). A Puglia-inspired recipe, this starter was imbued with cantaloupe compote, San Marzano tomatoes, Ibérico, and a basil reduction that elevated and brought an incredible freshness to the dish. The sweetness of the compote was perfectly balanced by the acidity of the tomatos. Plain simple: the chef is a genius. Just when I thought this could not be topped off I tried the main course: the Tournedos Rossini with fried foie gras, green asparagus, potato rosti, and fresh winter truffle-Madeira gravy. The beef - a very flavorful filet mignon - rested on a bed of what could be considered the most flavorful and perfectly cooked potato cake I have ever had (crispy on the outside and moist and flavorful on the inside). On top of the meat, an amazing foie gras that brought earthly and complementary flavors to the potato and meat. I couldn't stop dipping the steak in the gravy - an amazing mixture of entrecote and borderlaise sauce that I simply cannot stop thinking about. If the starter was ingenious, the tournedos is the chef's opus magnum. The ambiance was the third most romantic location I have ever experienced (first and second were in Italy and the Berkshires). After experiencing many restaurants in Paris and several in Amsterdam, I can tell you that this place is a gem. It was such a surprise and I can wager that it will - as it did me - make your Dutch food experience among the most memorable. How this restaurant has only 4.5 stars is incomprehensible to me. It deserves a Michelin star.

The restaurant was excellent. It was our anniversary and they made it special. The two ladies that were managing the restaurant on Thursday 4th September were really nice and went out of their way to give us the best attention they deserve big congratulations. The atmosphere was great. The food was really well presented and really delicious.

Came here for lunch today. Was here two years ago too. Fantastic outdoor seating where you wan watch the people, the bicycles and the canal boats cruise by. Had a lovely Chabli wine and steak rate and walnut and chestnut salad followed by the mussels and enough severing of bread to suck up all the lovely biske. Can’t recommend this place enough!

A high-end bistro with a lovely setting at the intersection of the Canal des Seigneurs and Canal des Brasseurs, where the attentive staff serves original dishes! One small drawback: having booked well in advance, we would have preferred a table on the quayside.

I had a reservation and it ended up being a beautiful evening, so I asked to sit outside. Instead of sitting me at empty tables outside, they sat me inside, and I watched and heard them seat other walk-in parties at the outdoor tables. I’m not sure if they didn’t want to seat a solo diner outside or what the issue was, but I found it to be poor service to not seat someone with a reservation where requested when the tables are empty, but then immediately thereafter, seat a walk-in at that table. This took away from the overall experience.

The service was great, the bread was amazing ! I had higher expectations for the food though.

I had such a lovely experience while celebrating my husband’s birthday. All my requests were taken care of and everyone who attended the table were very sweet. They went above and beyond to make the dinner special. The food was some of the best i have had in a long time and also to mention is the amazing set up by the canals. I will surely be coming back.

Belhamel in Amsterdam is a true gem, located in a stunning building right on the canal. Everything was just perfect – from the charming ambiance to the cheerful and attentive service, and of course the delicious dishes! We will definitely be coming back.

I had the opportunity to dine al fresco, and it was a memorable experience. The outdoor terrace is located at the intersection of two canals—it's hard to find a more beautiful location in Amsterdam. The menu is sure to please everyone, as is the extensive wine list. The fillet steak was very good. It's no surprise there were quite a few couples at the tables: the atmosphere is very romantic. And finally, the staff is truly very friendly. A must-see in Amsterdam!

Belhamel...the name says it all. 'Scoundrel' in English, an amazing - French Cuisine- restaurant in Amsterdam. if the weather allows it, you can sit outside and watch the sunset and have an amazing dinner. Amazing Chef, amazing hostmanship! One to visit…make sure you reserve!

Accueil sympa dans cet établissement situé pas trop loin de la gare centrale D’Amsterdam . Les tables au bord de l’eau et le cadre intérieur sont vraiment très chouettes . Service pro et avec le sourire. La cuisine est gourmande et les assiettes joliment présentées . Le ceviche de mon épouse était bon mais la portion n’était pas très généreuse . Bonne bière pression. Bref, nous avons passé un agréable moment ici. Gastronomiquement vôtre 1664Mulhouse .

If there was an option to put 10 stars I would have. This place stands out because of its staff. The perfect place for a dinner date. We had come to Amsterdam from two different countries to meet. It exceeded both our expectations. Loved the ambience, food presentation and the wine selection they have. The food was fantastic!

No habíamos reservado con antelación, y cuando pensé en ir allí un par de días antes de tiempo, el restaurante ya estaba lleno. Puse mi nombre en la lista de espera, y la noche anterior, apareció un espacio y lo agarré. El interior del restaurante está exquisitamente decorado en estilo Art Nouveau. Tuvimos suerte en nuestra noche de agosto para conseguir una mesa de canal en una noche de verano perfecta. Apreciamos especialmente a nuestro servidor, que nos dirigió a través del menú y la carta de vinos con encanto y amabilidad. Mi sobrina menor de edad estaba con nosotros, y él hizo o consiguió el bar para hacerle un cóctel absolutamente delicioso para que pudiera brindar por el cumpleaños de su madre con el resto de nosotros. La comida y el vino eran deliciosos. Todo en este restaurante se combinó para hacer una de esas noches realmente especiales cuando te sientes profundamente afortunado de estar sentado en ese lugar específico. Una velada verdaderamente memorable, y estamos agradecidos a todo el equipo del de Belhamel por una experiencia tan maravillosa.

What a breath of fresh air in bustling Amsterdam! A lovely spot with a fantastic terrace overlooking the canals. They quickly pulled up a parasol for some shade. Super friendly service, and the food and drinks arrived very quickly. Delicious dishes that are a little different but incredibly tasty. And the price is very reasonable for the quality of the food and the fantastic location. We thoroughly enjoyed it, so thank you 🙏

It should be illegal to serve such incredible food! The location of this restaurant is fantastic, plus the view is incredible even if you sit inside. Every single dish is a work of art. No words honestly! I've been to so many places in Amsterdam, but this is the one place I am always looking forward to coming back to every single time. Treat yourself and don't miss this one!

We celebrated our anniversary and the staff was great especially our waiter (from Moldova). The food was delicious, we had the tuna tartare, the shrimp risotto and the entrecôte. All perfection 👌 I definitely recommend you go there for a nice meal.

Top spot in the centre of Amsterdam. We ordered a starter, 2 times entrecôte, and a brownie as a dessert. The starter was fine, but the entrecôte was delicious, perfectly cooked medium-rare. The service was also very friendly and professional. Although our reservation was for inside, they managed to transfer us outside. When you go, make sure to sit and enjoy the outdoors. A place to visit again!

Arrogant service, big mouth. Empty and dirty tables everywhere, but there was supposedly no room. I think this guy needs to go back to school.

Traveled across Europe for 10 days and this was by far the best meal we had. Everything from the wine to the hors d’oeuvres to the main course was exceptional, we had a wide variety of their menu and we had not one complaint. Portions were large (coming from an American!) and we were amazed at the reasonable prices. Staff was wonderful, we would highly recommend to anyone traveling to Amsterdam! Thank you to our canal tour guide Michael for recommending his favorite restaurant to us!

Fantastic food, attentive, friendly staff in gorgeous art-nouveau decor room, with a stunning view down a classic Amsterdam canal. There's also a cosy bar area (see photo). Really nice wines available for each course too. And a lot cheaper than it would be in London. Turned out Jamie Oliver had ordered the same main I did (catch of the dsy - pike with artichoke) a couple of weeks before when he was in for his 25th wedding anniversary. My wife met him on his stag do in Brighton all those years ago - a nice little coincidence (NB she said he and his brother in law to be were really nice).

We were SO impressed with the service here! We ordered our food and suddenly my friend did not feel well. They took such great care of him and offered him honey etc. They even helped us cancel our mains and takeaway the starters that arrived. For the starters we had they were amazing and we can’t wait to be back for the full menu! Honestly, the place with the best service and food I’ve seen and huge thank you to the entire crew that helped!!!

Restaurant De Belhamel – A Sophisticated Dining Experience I had lunch at Restaurant De Belhamel in Amsterdam and was thoroughly impressed. The setting, right by the canal, is beautiful and elegant — a perfect match for the refined cuisine. We ordered a plate of oysters and a dish featuring black caviar, along with a few additional starters and mains. Everything was fresh, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. The oysters were a particular standout — perfectly chilled and full of flavor. Unfortunately the service was unable to tell us about some of the dishes and was completely disoriented ,but the atmosphere felt both relaxed and upscale. De Belhamel is a great choice for those who appreciate quality ingredients, classic techniques, and a quiet, elegant dining experience. Highly recommended.

Great breakfast spot in picturesque canalside spot.

The food and service are both very good, I give it 4.1-4.2 stars. But the indoor dining environment is not good! The seat is a little small (which is barely acceptable), the worst thing is the chair, which is super hard and the sitting area is super small. The design of the chair is not ergonomic, and it is super uncomfortable to sit on! This should be one of the top three most uncomfortable restaurant chairs I have ever used! I can only give 3 stars for this chair! Sorry! I hope that the chair can be changed to a more comfortable one next time I come.

We celebrated a birthday with dinner & it was perfect! We were sat at a gorgeous table right on the canal bridge, and immediately brought birthday champagne (non alcoholic for me was available!). The staff were all wonderful, incredibly kind, friendly, and just fun all around. There was even a candle on a cake! They truly helped make this birthday dinner a wonderful memory forever. (the food was great too!) Highly recommend!

My partner and I have been visiting this place for our date nights for a while. The food is always delicious. We really enjoy the steak tartar. The service is always great and the atmosphere is cozy and romantic.

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch sitting by the canal drinking our wine and beers and eating some of the most unique food. The carpaccio was served in a unique way, wrapped around a salad of very interesting, tasty greens. The croque madame was huge and perfectly cooked.
