Food was tasty, price/quality in good ratio. Nice starters and good house wine. The curry is very good, could maybe use some more fresh herbs. Good meat indeed! As a first impression, desserts have a special taste for Dutch people, not so sweet. All in all a great eatery.

Very good restaurant, but the service is very slow, it took us at least 10 minutes to wait before getting the menu and the waiters do not particularly give information on the dishes, we also did not understand that 'a rice dish was for two and he hadn't explained it to us.

Located on the quiter side of Lange Leidsedwarsstraat, behind the former Palace of Justice on Prinsengracht, (currently being converted into the luxurious 5 star Rosewood Hotel), Bombay Inn is a cozy family run Indian restaurant. There is a well-stocked bar and the menu features a generous assortment of authentic 100% Halal meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. In recognition of its exceptional Indian cuisine, Bombay Inn received the best restaurant award in 2016. Butter Chicken is one of the restaurant's most popular offerings, but sadly missing is Bombay Duck which, despite its name, is a dried fish dish, very popular at Indian restaurants throughout the UK but, as yet, I have not encountered it in the Netherlands. The restaurant has an impressive selection of homemade sweets,  including Gulab Jamun, sticky sweet deep- fried dough balls, coated in rose syrup; Kulfi Pistachio, Indian ice-cream with pistachio nuts; and Kheer creamy rice pudding. Weather permitting, there is an outside terrace. One of the city's major food delivery services, frequently offers Bombay Inn "two for the price of one" menu deals,  so worth checking out.

A place that anyone who likes Indian food must avoid. 4 of us sat down for food that arrived 50 MINUTES after we ordered (only a part of the order). How can you have only two people serving so many customers?? Then one of the waiters who we had the misfortune to deal with, served us. He only gave cutlery for three people and when we asked, he goes "Eat with my hands". Funny? Dont think so. Then, when we complained about the delay, he goes "There's all these people and they are all patient. Why aren't you? Only you Indians do this!". In my opinion, people like this should not be in horeca. Now to food: Most flavorless Indian food (if you can call it that!) I had to eat in Europe. Unreasonably small quantities for the price they charge. I am honestly baffled how this place managed to get 4.5 rating here on Maps. The only saving grace is that the other waiter was very apologetic about the behavior of his deplorable colleague. Edit: The owner replies and claims that's the quantity that all Indian restaurants provide. I completely disagree, considering the price they charge. Point two, they conveniently ignore the fact that one of their employees behaved abhorently. Three, why won't hire more waiters to reduce the time it takes to bring the food?

Had a homely, hearty meal. Delicious chicken biryani and chicken dhansak(curry, cooked with lentils and some mango achar). The staff was very hospitable (even offered a free side salad of chopped onions on the table which is a rarity nowadays in most restaurants). The restaurant was unassuming, but had a cozy authenticity.

We enjoyed a delicious Indian meal through Social Deal. As a starter we chose the reshmi kebab, made from seasoned minced mutton, grilled on skewers in the tandoori oven. The meat was wonderfully tender and well seasoned. For the main course we went for the butter chicken, grilled chicken fillet in a creamy tomato curry with cashew nuts, coconut and almond powder, served with naan and rice. This dish was delicious and definitely recommended! To finish we got Gulab jamun, sweet Indian dumplings prepared with milk, sugar, rose syrup and cardamom. Although we only got one dumpling, it was just enough after such a large meal.

Simple, but very good Indian restaurant. Quality is top, no overly large rice tables, but well-composed dishes. Friendly people! The restaurant is simple, yet attractively decorated. One could do something more with this. But that's the only thing!

The best Indian I had in life. I went to alot of Indian restaurants all around the world but this is next level. Butter chicken at its best, naan, vendaloo and even the rice are all extraordinary. I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken tikka masala. The peppers were very soft and nicely cooked, and the chicken was very flavorful. And best of all, the portion size was good - unlike other places where the portion sizes are too small! Highly recommend.

We booked for 8 people and will never come back. Very poor treatment by the owner who offered a discount via fork.com but refused it to us. Some sort of vile juice was served and sold as red wine (!) The owner lied about having a liquor liscence. Place was full of moths flying around and service extremely slow. Waiters were friendly but clueless on how to run a restaurant. Though we had agreed with the restaurant during the booking process that we needed to leave by a specific time, food was served just 10 min before departure. The bill was unspecified, and no copy of the bill or receipt was given to us. Quality of food was passable though bland, portions were tiny. Prices listed on the menu are ridiculous for this quality and quantity. Bottom line: Avoid this place!

Open late!! I was shocked the kitchen was open late and you can get some of the yummiest Indian Food. I was told the chef is from New Delhi. Having been to India a couple of times…the food and the price is unmatched. If you love Indian Food or looking for something delicious late at night. They close at 11pm. Come here!

Come here for the impeccable food and the friendly and quick service! I visit a lot of restaurants, this place is just great for you want a delicious Indian meal. The ingredients were sublime and treated with love. Textures and individual flavours were all there. Service was just on the spot, very attuned to what we wanted and needed. The typical body language reading and the right amount of picking up of our dialogue to be the perfect host. An attentiveness that I haven't seen in ages as of late. Yes, I will say the place is not the most riveting in it's ambience, but everything is clean, in a good state and functioning well. Plates are made up in a way that everything is eaten and tasteful. No nonsense, delicious food and great service, a quality memory was made. Thank you Bombay Inn It is no exaggeration when I say it was the best onion bhaji, mango lassi and Lamb biryani I've ever had. Strong recommend

Loved the daal makhani, definitely get it if you come here. One of the best daal makhanis I've had honestly. The regular food is made for the Dutch palette in terms of spiciness - I usually ask for low spicy in India but this was perfect, or even a bit less spicy for me. Friendly service and a great location - would recommend this place.
