The place is worth trying. The staff weee understanding about our preferences. There is outdoor seating. The naan was crispy. The butter chicken was tangy and spicy. The Aloo parantha was also flaky and soft. Highly Recommended.

Excellent Indian and Nepali food. The Nepali veg thali was delicious. Service is very friendly and courteous.

We found this small restaurant serving Indian and Nepalese cuisine almost by chance while going to see the "dancing houses". Very welcoming but small place so I highly recommend booking. The food is really great, with generous portions and the staff is super friendly. I highly recommend it.

My girlfriend and I loved eating in this little restaurant last night. The decoration is refined and pleasant, the servers are smiling and give good advice. One of them warned us that the naans were big and that instead of taking one each, he advised us to take one for two while knowing that we could have a second one during the meal if necessary and he was absolutely right, just one was enough so it was nice not to be pushed to overconsume. The prices are largely justified by the quality and quantity of the dishes. We were full even though we are good eaters. We highly recommend!!

I ordered their paneer kadhai, chicken kadhai, and some butter naan, and I was genuinely impressed. First and foremost, the taste was spot on. Both the paneer and chicken kadhai were flavorful, with just the right amount of spice and rich, aromatic gravies. The butter naan was perfectly soft and buttery – exactly what you want to mop up all that deliciousness. What really stood out, though, was the portion size. They were generous! I definitely felt like I got my money's worth. But the best part? They actually paid attention to our preferences. They asked how we liked our spice levels and made sure everything was served exactly as we wanted it. That kind of attention to detail makes all the difference. And the service? Absolutely top-notch. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel really welcome. It's clear they care about their customers. This place is truly amazing! The staff is so nice and the food is great. We came here twice during a four day stay in Amsterdam, that’s how good it is!! Highly recommend. We got the vegetable samosas, chicken momos, garlic naan and chicken korma. The mango lassi is great too!

I had reservations and we arrived a little late. Our table had already been re-allocated, but within a few minutes we had a table, the waiters very pleasant and friendly. The dishes we chose were excellent. We enjoyed ourselves. Very very good restaurant.

If you want to eat good Indian food in Amsterdam, this is the place for you. Apart from the great food, the rice was included for free (even a second portion) and canceling individual ingredients was no problem at all. I would definitely recommend this shop! We'd love to come back.

We went for dinner today at the Lumbini restaurant worst experience in a long time we have had. Firstly, we ordered two vegetarian thali we only received one. When we enquired where was the second one they looked surprised. Eventually second thali arrives. I wish I hadn’t bothered. All the food was bland tasteless definitely not Indian or Nepalese food. No spices, salt or chillies not the Indian food I get at home or from my mother in law. The bill was €58 not worth it at all. Being Indian having read most of the reviews for the restaurant from previous customers they definitely do not know the difference between excellent and poor quality Indian and Nepalese food. Save your money and go elsewhere for good Indian food than end up being disappointed.

The food is excellent, there is a lot of choice. It is possible to choose your spice level between 1 and 5 and it is very appreciable. The naans are huge and delicious. The lassi, banana or mango, are very well made, we tasted both. Very good service and little wait.

Amazing food! I’ve eaten A LOT of Indian food around the world, including multiple trips to Delhi and Bangalore. This food is legitimately some of the best I’ve ever had. My Celiac daughter had no problems. They can make any dish gluten free ( aside from obvious items like nan and momos). I give Lumbini my highest recommendation

Simply fantastic!!!!! The food was very well-balanced in terms of seasoning, our best experience in Amsterdam. Not that the other restaurants we went to weren't very good, but this Indian restaurant is a whole different ball game, a cut above the rest for sure! If you have any questions, ask the waiters, who are kind and attentive. I had shrimp curry, with rice, yogurt seasoned with garlic and chutney. My wife had shrimp with fried noodles. Everything was wonderful, enough!! Generous portions, you need to check if it's convenient to share the dish.

We had a great late-night Indian meal here! The butter chicken was amazing, the lamb dish full of flavor, and the garlic naan and papadum were perfect. The mango lassi was jammy and refreshing. Lovely host, really welcoming. Big compliments—definitely coming back!

It was my first time experiencing Indian/Nepalese cuisine and it was truly a great experience! Butter chicken was an incredible taste with its creamy sauce and spices, I would eat it every day. The spices in the dal bhaatta were very balanced, neither too heavy nor light. The meat and lentils were tender, and the rice accompanying it was fresh and delicious. I also loved the mango and mint dips. The roti was soft and fresh, a perfect complement to the meal. The restaurant staff were also very helpful and gave suggestions.

It is a restaurant where Indian food lovers will definitely leave happy.

A good place, beautiful and very good location in front of the canal. A very large card to be able to choose the best option of all. The staff of 10, they can improve the speed but it is worth it. Recommendations: -Sula white wine (Origin India) - Moma Mix - Cheese Nan (one of the best I've ever tried) We will return without a doubt.

I enjoyed the 3-course menu. The food is very good, there are quite a few choices. The staff is helpful. Everything you need to have a good meal. A few steps from the center of Amsterdam and right next to Rembrandt Square. I would definitely recommend it if you like Indian/Nepalese food.

A friend and I are visiting Amsterdam and chose this restaurant because we both love this type of food. The food was very tasty and filled us up very quickly, but unfortunately we couldn't finish it all, sorry! (I had the Chicken Tikka Tandoori and she had Chicken Saag, in case you were wondering what was eaten ;) ) But we are definitely not averse to coming back to the restaurant for another visit. :)

First things first because this took my breath away. I have tried many a Mango Lassi but this one was by far the absolute best I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. We had an amazing meal at Lumbini! We are only in Amsterdam for a few days and stumbled upon this little place on our second night. We ended up making a reservation, which seems like a must as all tables were full when we arrived and there were a few other people waiting for a table. We quickly realized why it was so popular. Everything we ordered was delicious. We started with the veggie samosas (eaten too quickly to get a picture of) and then had the combination momo plate and the lamb tandoori. Highly recommend!

Surreal. I simply ordered takeout, walked in, and had a beer while I waited... These are some of the friendliest people Ive met in a long time. All smiles, really good vibes. The server tried to undercharge me after giving me a complimentary side dish. Then he threw in a bottle of beer into the bag as I was walking out. I wish I could attribute that to some feature of my personality, but I think they are just genuinely lovely people. The food - Simply amazing. Probably the best I've had in my short trip through various European cities. I am only here for 3 days but I'm seriously considering going back, at the cost of further exploring Amsterdam's diverse food options. Wow.
