We dined here for New Years Eve and had an absolutely amazing experience. The staff went above and beyond to make our holiday so special. The food was fantastic. Highly recommend!!!

Really enjoyed this place. It's based in a neighborhood I would consider to be very touristy, but it is not a touristic place. The food variety is amazing and it was awesome getting an introduction to Nepalese cuisine. We tried the steamed dumplings in sesame sauce which was delicious. I then ordered the tandoori with puffed rice which was so unique! As well as the curry with all the sides and lentils. It was delicious. Sad that I couldn't fit dessert into my tummy, but we will be back!

Not the best indian restaurant in Amsterdam tbh)), butter chicken was so sweet I could taste the sugar! The lamb meat was tasty, but the sause had no flavour at all. The portions are very small for the price, on the photo rice was for 2 people! They don't serve tab water. Stuff is friendly, clean toilet. We were searching for a genuine indian experience and were really disappointed.

This is an AMAAAAZING place! The food is all natural, they don’t use taste enhancer (MSG) and the service is literally the best ever! Super open and generous people serving great food❤️

Seasoned masterfully! Tasted very authentic and had a cozy, warm and authentic aesthetic. The servers were polite and nice. I also tried the Nepalese crème brûlée version, nothing too special except for the custard, which was probably made with some type of grain/oatmeal due to its thick consistency. The tikka masala and butter chicken were just as amazing as I expected.

We had dinner for 2 here on 1rst December. A delicious bhat dal chicken thali with steamed chicken momos. Wonderful evening.

We dined at Namche and enjoyed the entire experience, the food is delicious, the hot green chili chutney, the garlic naan very good flavors we had the Chili Momo (super, a must order), Dhal Tadka, and Lamb Curry, and more... Everything was delicious. I had the chili infused rum from the Himalayan, they make their version of a Dark and Stormy (rum & ginger beer) and it is fantastic! The run is called Khukri, you have to try this. We were taken care of Bobita the moment we entered the restaurant until we left, she is a superstar and a joy to talk with, fun, knowledgeable you can't miss her if you dine at Namche. Thank you to the entire team, we will be back when back in Amsterdam 🤗

Despite us showing up with no booking, they still fitted us in immediately. So definitely pre-book to avoid disappointment. Food and drinks were excellent. I recommend the Samosas and my partner said it was the best chicken tikka masala he has ever had. Try the mango lassi also. We didn't take any photos sadly, but we couldn't wait to start it looked that good.

Had an amazing experience. Tried some authentic Nepalese snacks like momo and sekuwa, and enjoyed a delicious Nepalese thali for dinner. Everything was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The service was warm and attentive too. Highly recommend.

Amazing food and very friendly!

This was a hidden gem! We are here from the USA and the atmosphere was quaint and cozy. The staff were friendly and helpful. And the food was the icing on the cake. We ordered a little bit of everything and enjoyed every single bite! My children (10 and 6 y/o) ate every bite and we all left happy and full! If we lived here this would be one of our local favorites! Kudos to a great spot!

We had a dinner gift card and thought, "Let's try this place." Oh man - what a fantastic evening we had! Super delicious food, even a little sunshine on the small terrace out front, and very sweet and attentive people! The saag in the paneer was super soft with a slightly firmer exterior - the mildness of the sauce was just right. And the momos 😍🤤 and the naan! As far as I'm concerned, I'll go again tomorrow 😂 but seriously: it was a great choice to eat here. Don't hesitate anymore - stop reading reviews. Just do it! 😃 P.S. - if you look at the price: we went all out 😅 so it can be done for a bit less.

In search of South Asian flavours in Amsterdam, we found this restaurant highly reviewed on Google. The reviews don’t lie. The food felt unique, fresh, heartwarming and delicious! Being an Indian, sometimes our food can feel heavy but not this. I had the Dal Bhaat thali which I highly recommend. The veggies were so fresh! Just what I needed after eating lots of bread all over. The Nepalese flavours were also present in the dal, chutneys and curries. Staff were warm and friendly! All in all a great experience!

Small place, difficult getting a table here. Would suggest making a reservation. They do have a small bar to sit at if you're one or two people and one table outside. Staff was friendly. Menu had many options. Loved all the drink options (alcoholic and non). The dumplings were great. The creme brulee was not my favorite. More of a liquid cottage cheese texture and the caramelized top was so thick it was very hard to break through. Pineapple ginger lassie was divine. Decor was cute and would recommend if you're in the area.

I love this place, They have great staff that take the time to recommend you dishes and cocktails based on your tastes. Cocktails are excellent btw ! Loved trying new dishes from cultures I wasn’t familiar with, they were all very flavorful. That made me curious to explore more this type of cuisine, but after exploring for a while, I decided Namche was my fave 😂 The only thing is the place is a bit noisy, especially in the back room when the big table is filled with a group. But hey, I came there twice (each time to try completely different foods and bring more friends along!) and would come again :)

Just wow!! So glad we found this place. Incredible array of foods - we tried the butter chicken, peshwari naan, onion bhajis and the homemade peach iced tea. All were absolutely fantastic. Not bad prices and good service too. Would definitely return!

Bit pricey, i don't really like how the food served but it is okay

The food there was very tasty, and the atmosphere was pleasant. The place was relatively busy, so we had to wait a bit longer for service, but it wasn't incredibly long. The Nepalese specialties were somewhat small in portions. Even vegetarians could eat there.

The food was incredibly delicious. It was completely packed. We were lucky to arrive early, so we were able to get a seat even without a reservation. Truly authentic, in my opinion.

Quite nice! Having tasted three startes and two main courses overall experience of food was great. Everything was tasty and well-presented. Menu was rich, consistent with many vegeterian and non-vegetarian options. All of the waiters was kind and polite. The atmosphere was cozy and the place was nicely decorated. Yet, it was a bit noisy. It was a great option to consider in Amsterdam for Indian and Nepalese cuisine. We will be visiting again!

Unbelievably good- my friends and I stopped here on our first night in Amsterdam and it was the perfect welcome to the city. And Santos is AMAZING.

I’m not even kidding, this is the best Indian food I’ve ever had. I had the butter chicken and I didn’t say a word until every bit of it was finished. Santos was our server and he was very friendly. If it wasn’t for my currently full stomach, I’d come back in an hour.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. NAMCHE Amsterdam absolutely blew me away—the butter chicken here is hands down the best I’ve ever had in my life. Rich, creamy, perfectly spiced, and so flavorful that I’m still thinking about it days later. Honestly, if you come to Amsterdam and don’t eat here, you’re making a huge mistake. But what truly made the night unforgettable was Santos, our server. I don’t usually single people out in reviews, but Santos deserves a raise, a promotion, and probably a medal. His warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care turned a great meal into an experience I’ll never forget. From anticipating our needs before we even asked, to making us feel like honored guests rather than just customers, he set the gold standard for hospitality. NAMCHE isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a place where food and service come together in the best possible way. Thank you Santos for making our evening so special. Came here due to seeing Mooncake's review of it. I have to say.. it's just Indian food. Samosa were overcooked, pan fried dumplings in sesame sauce were nice, mixed grill was so/so. Restaurant is very narrow. Hard to pass by seeing the staff is often serving their tables. The 'popular movie classical' music was set too loud. And the acoustics of the place are not good.. hard to speak to your dinner guest. Gave it a shot, will not return.

We stumbled upon this excellent Nepalese restaurant while on a visit to Amsterdam. The staff was really responsive to allergy concerns which made us feel at ease. The food was excellent as were the cocktails.

I think the lighting near the bar table can be less blue cause it makes food look dull in pictures, but it's my personal preference, so I have no authority to force the change. Also, the music that was playing in the restaurant can be quieter.

Amazing Nepalese restaurant. Booked a reservations online and added a note that it was a dinner date with a request for a quiet setting. They were so helpful and help made the date go very well. All the people that work there was very kind. The food was exceptional. The service was amazing. And to top it off, they gave us a free dessert as a gift for the date. Will surely go back and recommend this place!

At first, we thought it tasted good. But my partner got sick from the butter chicken later that evening. We also thought it was a bit expensive for how much food you get as well.

We had a very tasty meal in a very touristy environment.

Very nice place to go for dinner. The food is good and the waiters are nice. We tried the recommended dishes and they were really good. We had a table close to the door which was a bit cold at the end of the evening. It was no problem to close the door. The wine is good. I would recommend to make a reservation, because this place can be quite crowded. One small note, the music is a bit too loud. Although we really liked the type of music, a bit more silent would be better for the experience.

Gorgeous food with very helpful and kind staff. Staff are so good with kids, which was very much appreciated. Food was top class, momos were the star for me! Small playground right beside the restaurant which helped the kids with up an appetite.

Excellent! Looking for a place to celebrate our son’s birthday, he selected Namcha. I was suspicious. The location, in the heart of the city, usually screams tourist trap. The opposite was true! Instead, I found one of my new favorite Indian restaurants in Amsterdam. The place is cozy and very busy. The staff is very friendly and happy to help you decide on what to eat. After some consideration we finally decided what to eat. The food arrived and wow, it was delicious. The food isn’t cheap but then again, you’re in Amsterdam. I know I’ll be back for sure.

Food was fine, but not worth the price. The service was not good and the bartender was quite rude. I'm not sure what his problem was, but he was obviously very annoyed that we didn't have a reservation. Maybe you should take the sign down in the window that welcomes walk-ins if it is a problem for you.

A decent restaurant in heart of Amsterdam. We didn't really like the food especially Momos and pani puri. Maybe this is because of our indian taste buds which have different sense of taste altogether when it comes to Momos. Stop your search, this is THE BEST restaurant in Amsterdam 😍 After moving to Amsterdam, we tried quite few restaurants in the city, and all of them left us either unimpressed or just straight disappointed. Just when we were about to give up, we stumbled upon a cute Nepalese restaurant tucked away from all the buzz of the Leidseplein Square. We came inside and had the best experience! The ambiance was so cozy and romantic! Our server Santosh was AMAZING! He went above and beyond to make sure our food comes out just the way we will enjoy it! He was also very attentive and mindful of my husband’s dietary restrictions. But the best of all was their FOOD. Oh my goodnesss… The chana masala was bursting with deep complex flavors! The steamed momos with chicken were absolutely delicious. And their garlic naan and papadum were just perfect. When they bring you a check, they make sure to include a yummy chocolate praline or a mint, which was such a nice touch! These small things just show you how much they care about their customers. We will be back and we will recommend all of our friends to check this place out!

Some of the best Indian food I've had in a long time! Santos was a friendly server who seated our group of 5 right away, despite not having a reservation. The bartender was also attentive towards us and asked if we liked our cocktails or if we wanted them to be modified (which we didn't, because they were delicious!). I ordered sambosas and pan fried dumplings for a starter. Most other places, these dishes are greasy, but that is not the case here! They were flavorful and it's a must to soak up the sauce with a side of naan. I also ordered the chicken tikka masala which, again, full of flavor and spice that was to die for! 10/10 I would recommend to anyone looking for a delicious, filling meal.

While visiting amsterdam I visited Namchey Amsterdam every time I craved for Nepali Indian food. Not only they have authentic Nepali Indian taste of the food, the staff do also have Nepali authentic hospitality.

We had reserved a table online. The sauces for our three appetizers and the main courses were heavily spiced with cumin. The chef hadn't removed the cardamom, so I had several cardamom seeds in my rice dish. The service was friendly, but they asked if the table could be cleared shortly after you'd finished your last bite. Overall, the food was more like a snack bar, and the portions were rather small.

What a discovery on Lange Leidsedwarsstraat! I was immediately impressed by the authentic Nepalese and North Indian cuisine at Namche Amsterdam. The momos as a starter were particularly refined – deliciously filled and served with a spicy sauce that was just right.

We were in Amsterdam for 3 days, and we had dinner at this place for two days , that's how much we loved it. Had the momos in sesame sauce, chowmien, pani puri. Everything was top notch. definitely recommended to visit

We had a great time! The service was excellent and the food was delicious. However, the Indian dish could have used a bit more spice to bring out the authentic flavor.

We had a wonderful evening at Namche and a truly delicious meal. There were four of us, and we had a wide variety of dishes. Everything was fresh and flavorful, as was the specialty Nepalese IPA beer. All the staff were incredibly hospitable and stopped by to ask if everything was to our liking. We'll definitely be back to Namche because we had a wonderful time! What a wonderful discovery.

This was my first time eating at an Indian/Nepalese restaurant, and I was delighted with the taste and quality of the food. To start off, we had the pani puri, which was classic and a good appetizer. Then, we tried their steamed buffalo momos, which looked a lot like Chinese xiaolongbaos. The meat filling was tender and soft and the dough was chewy, pairing super well with the sauces! As for mains, the tandoori shrimp was amazing and extremely flavourful. The amount of shrimp was also plenty for 3 people. I really enjoyed the taste of the chicken tikka masala as well; it was a little spicy and tangy, and the chicken was tender. Finally, it was a good decision to add garlic butter naan as a side, as it went very well with the curries. Bonus points to the lentil curry that they paired with the tikka masala, it was one of my favourites. My only complaint would be that I wish the mango lassi was colder, as it would’ve made it easier to drink since it was very thick. Otherwise, I had a wonderful meal here and I loved the experience of trying new dishes.

Chicken tikka is chicken thigh, not chicken fillet. Not very spicy. Naan bread top quality. Unfortunately all three got sick after eating. Diarrhea and stomach ache.
