We had the menu for two and were absolutely thrilled! It was absolutely delicious, and you could taste the freshness of the ingredients and the high level of expertise in the kitchen. Everything, from the appetizer to the dessert, was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend it!

First night in Amsterdam, walked in without reservation at 7pm, great menu and atmosphere, excellent service. Non Vegetarian tasting menu was great, a lot of food, all delicious and the Gurkha beer was nice. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Exceeded all expectations! Not only the food was perfect, but also the service and the ambiance! The food is actually very affordable, and the quality is perfect. The price includes drinks. Recommended for shared menus, nice portions for at least four people, very optimally arranged menu, we didn't wait long between courses! One of the best restaurants in Amsterdam we've been to!

Very tasty! I ordered paneer curry, vegetarian momos, two mango lassi - it came out to 45 euros. For such a size of dishes and quality - absolutely justified. Very pleasant atmosphere in the establishment, very friendly staff. I recommend!

Very good Nepali Tibetan Indian restaurant in Amsterdam. We went there for team dinner. Veg pakoda was very good. Kitchen closes at 10:30pm. Service is nice.

We had a great dinner — the food was absolutely delicious! We also tried the Raksi, a Nepali alcoholic beverage, which was awesome and paired beautifully with our dishes. A real bouquet of flavours. I truly recommend this restaurant.

We had a great experience at Sherpa during our visit to Amsterdam. Being from India, we really appreciated how warm and welcoming the staff were they were so humble, friendly, and made us feel completely at home. The food was incredible! We especially loved the momos and butter chicken full of flavor and cooked just right. Everything tasted fresh and authentic, and the staff even helped us choose based on our spice preferences. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, and the service was quick but never rushed. It honestly felt like dining with friends such a rare and nice feeling when you’re far from home. Would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for delicious Nepalese, Indian, or Tibetan food with a side of genuine hospitality. We’ll be coming back for sure!

Wauw, wat een fijne ervaring! We hebben op een warme avond heerlijk buiten op het terras gezeten en werden door het ontzettend vriendelijke en behulpzame personeel bediend. Ze gaven tips & informatie over het eten en ook kon het eten per persoon worden aangepast in mate van pittigheid. Geweldig! En dan het eten en de heerlijke drankjes.. 😍 Alles was spot on! Enorm smaakvol, ruime porties en bovenal authentiek Nepalees! Omdat ik ooit 10 maanden in Nepal heb gewoond was dit voor mij ‘a trip down memory lane‘ en brachten de smaken en geuren mij direct terug in het mooie Nepal.. Een onvergetelijke avond met heerlijk eten en drinken. Dit is een enorme aanrader voor iedereen die nieuwsgierig is naar het smaakvolle eten uit het prachtige Nepal! Ik ga zeker terug! “Pheri betaula!”

what sold me in a no-turning-back kind of way was how they dimmed the lights and blasted a really good happy birthday song and brought out a sparkler. their small ceramic dishes were delightful as well as the food inside them. waiter endearing.

Really good Indian food. Everything we had was outstanding.

Absolutely loved it! The food was full of flavor and felt very authentic. I especially enjoyed the nodules and masala and baryany, and the naan was perfectly soft and fresh. The staff was welcoming and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and cozy. Definitely one of the best Indian dining experiences I’ve had. Highly recommended!

Delicious Indian and Nepalese food, with excellent portions. I ordered a set meal that was said to be enough for two people. Honestly, I found it to be ample and filling. The flavors were balanced, not overpowering and overwhelming. The food was light and not greasy.

The butter chicken here is better than any place in London. The service and the speed of service is above every expectation. Personally my favorite restaurant.

The best chilli paneer with a bit of gravy so that you can enjoy it with your naan. I really liked the chicken steamed dumplings with soup it’s 10/10 no doubt . Despite food I really like the service of the staffs , specially pramish dai he was very attentive and helpful. I will surely visit again.

Probably the best indian food i have had in Amsterdam. It was great. The chicken tikka masala was excellent and the lamb biryani was also super tasty. Service was fast and waiters were very kind and professional. We had a lovely evening overall and great food. They had a large menu with a lot of vegetarian options as well. I would definitely go again.

A truly exceptional dinner, the attentive, friendly and knowledgeable staff and the surprising combinations, if you have the chance, definitely book

It's not really an authentic Indian restaurant. Food is much customised to meet Dutch (local) needs, so not very authentic taste. But the atmosphere is good. The location is good but can be better. Service was good.

Nice place to try Nepali/Tibetan cuisine when you’re in Amsterdam. Had to wait to get our table as it was busy in the weekend (reservation made through The Fork). Had amazing cocktails while waiting- nice twist to traditional whisky sour and a mango based drink with traditional Nepali liquor. Food was ok, good portions. Surprisingly, the cocktails were on the house because of delay in getting the table, a nice gesture !!

Consider how bad the food is in Amsterdam to give this restaurant 3 stars. For Indian in Amsterdam it's fine. Very expensive for the quantities it serves. But overall it's good. Definitely not one of the best I've eaten.

Delicious! We ordered chicken chilli, paneer chilli, lamb biryani, a paneer main dish and naan. Everything was really tasty and well cooked (we're Indian, so would know). Def recommend the chicken chilli. Can't comment on the atmosphere or service as we ordered a takeaway. Would give an extra point if I could, for the (sturdy) cardboard containers (always questionable when hot food is put in plastic containers) and the fact that they labelled each dish. Also, the paneer main and the biryani was enough for about 3 people (if you add multiple starters etc. in), so there was a lot of food and you definitely get your moneys worth!

Soooooooo good. Please eat here if you're in the mood for Indian and are in Amsterdam! Super friendly and everything is simply delicious. Mom, dad and 7 year old all left the restaurant full and happy!

From the moment you walk in the restaurant, you are greeted warmly by the staff. The atmosphere is relaxing and the interior design is very tasteful and matches the restaurant’s theme. All the waiters were very hospitable and knowledgeable about the menu. I tried the Sherpa Thali, which includes a chicken curry, a lamb curry, a vegetarian dish, a lentil soup, a bowl of rice, and some yogurt sauce. Every single dish was unique and delicious. Finally, the Sherpa chai is a great way to end the meal and cleanse the palate with some well spiced milk tea.

Obviously it's expensive, like everything in Amsterdam. But there are dishes that you can share and dinner can cost you around €20-30 per person (the cheapest you can there). The food was delicious and the atmosphere good. Yes, it was a little difficult for us to communicate in English with the waiters, in the end, they speak a more different English.

It is a nice new restaurant. Nice service, fresh food, also good vegetarian and vegan dishes available. The curries with lamb or (homemade) paneer are delicious and available in different heats (pepper). Recommended.

Although we have a lot of Indian / Bangladeshi food where I live, Nepalese and Tibetan is harder to find, so we concentrated on those dishes. The vegan momos were incredible, and the Nepalese black eyed bean curry was unique. From the starting papads and firey chutney to the wonderful service, it's a restaurant well worth visiting.

Look no further if you want good food that tastes amazing. With their recent renovation, Sherpa has become an even better place to eat with their new warm and inviting interior. Would absolutely recommend it to friends and family

Tried the Sherpas thali along with a few other dishes including steamed chicken momos. The food definitely was very authentic and true to the Nepalese cuisine.

Me and my ol lady went. Loved it. Everyone was so nice. We recommend a shot of the raski, gobi 65 (our favs), paneer chicken, garlic naan, butter chicken. Cheers!

Just incredible. After having been to several different Indian restaurants in different countries in Europe, this was by far the best one I've been to so far, and not just because of the stellar food. The service and the ambiance were delightful. The service was one of the best I've had yet. As an example, we requested them for some real chai, the way it's made in India, and they made it from scratch - it was just the flavour we sought after a long day. This was a small point among many, but the main reason why this restaurant stood out to me was because this Nepalese/Indian restaurant felt more Indian to me than any other Indian restaurant in Europe so far, which cater mainly to their European customer base, rather than to all customers equally. In the end we also met the chef, who was a lovely and humble man. The entire staff was wonderful and attentive. I'm sure if you go there, you will have a great time and a lovely experience.

Iets uit de loop van de winkelstraten en het Leidseplein vind je dit pareltje. Anders dan de pui doet vermoeden, tref je binnen een zeer sfeervol ingericht restaurant. Het eten is echt heerlijk kruidig. Het vriendelijke personeel vraagt beleefd welke pittigheidsgraad je wilt. Een echte aanrader!

A cosy restaurant with an amazing selection of Nepalese, Indian and Tibet dishes. Have been coming here many times in the past few years. The chicken tandoori was very good and came with a delicious bean and potato curry. The chicken, noodle and momo soup was excellent. The vegetarian momos are great. The staff are friendly, and the prices are reasonable (especially if you consider the generous serving sizes).

We had a dinner here with the two of us. It is a very nice place with friendly staff. We tweaked a bit on the menu order and that was no problem at all. The food took a bit longer because of that and they told us if that would be a problem. How nice! Ambiance is also great and it was quite crowded. Menu is quite extensive and it gives good explanation of what they serve, we had a good evening out and enjoyed the meal very much.
