Very rarely does the food taste as good when delivered, but Kathmandu didn’t disappoint. A hand written note was a cherry on the top. Big thank you to the team for making our dinner with friends special.

Nothing special in terms of location, food or service.

Balboastraat is named after the iconic film character Rocky Balboa from the movies of the same name. Keep this in mind while you sit enjoying a delicious meal and the excellent service. Rocky and Apollo Creed (after whom Apollolaan is named, more on that later) could have enjoyed themselves here together.

An absolute disaster. We booked through the AMEX Dining Experience, and it failed on every front. 1. Firstly the misleading menu, the advertised 3-course meal on for AMEX experience is actually a shared portion, not individual courses (except for the starter and dessert). Highly deceptive. 2. Note that the restaurant is not a fine dining, instead a restaurant with mediocre ambiance, average staff, and a less than ideal neighborhood. I am shocked AMEX includes them in a premium dining program. 3. The biggest joke an AMEX Dining Experience restaurant that refuses to take an American Express card when you try to pay for extras. Completely bizarre. 4. Don’t fall for their high Google rating like we did. The staff is very pushy about begging for 5-star reviews before you leave. We should have trusted the recent negative google reviews, they tell the real story. 5. The food is quite average, you can see in the photo the momos were practically swimming in oil. Save your time, money, and sanity. Skip this place at all costs.

Top-notch quality and service. Highly recommend. I had a Lam Chops its called (Tandoori Lam ) a large quantity it’s comes with Naan and veg Curry totally worth it.

What a special place, just around the corner in De Baarsjes! We had a delicious meal, discovered new flavors, and the service was exceptionally friendly. We walked out with a happy holiday feeling and skipped home!

I read some of the reviews about the food sizes and really thought it would be an exaggeration but not, paid 28 EUR for a Royal dish that left me heading to the FEBO afterwards because of how incredibly small the portion was. I don’t have a massive stomach but this was a bit insulting. That said, the food was tasty and service was great.

An absolutely brilliant meal, had the lamb vindaloo and it took me back to a place I’ve never been! Pure bliss!

We had the chicken dumplings, the tandoori mix and the butter chicken. We thought the food was mediocre. The explosive flavors you expect from Indian cuisine were lacking. The dessert also wasn’t great. We also didn’t appreciate the owner/chef being somewhat pushy about leaving a 5-star review.

We visited for the Amex Dining for 2 experience and were not disappointed. The food was delicious, the portions generous, and the service very friendly and efficien, despite the restaurant being completely full that night. The atmosphere is more casual than fine dining, so don’t expect a dimly lit, formal setting. It's a lively and welcoming place where you can enjoy authentic Nepalese and Indian cuisine in a relaxed, conversational environment.

We had a wonderful evening. A charming restaurant with sweet and friendly staff who really made the evening special. The starter was a delicious chicken momo, a great start to the evening. The main course was beautifully presented in classic Indian tableware, and the food was a real treat. In short, highly recommended.

Guys what a gem! we ate here through American express, we live in amsterdam and did not know about this spot. 100% recommended, lovely people great service. The food was so fresh, the bowls they served it in made it feel extra authentic and even more delicious. We had the chicken momo’s, butter chicken and tandoori mix and naan. Going home with a full belly and heart ❤️

Delicious food, extremely friendly service, and a very peaceful place to dine. Compared to the often noisy restaurants in Amsterdam: an oasis!

Decent food, but not worth the price: quite expensive compared to other (in my opinion better) Indian food in the city. We had the dal makhani and paneer tikka masala which were both fine, but lacking the richness you really want with these dishes. Garlic naan was delicious. I was a bit disappointed by the vibes as well: we were the only ones in the restaurant for the entire hour or two we were there and the table they sat us next to was dirty and had dishes on it the whole night.

We wanted to try a different Indian/Nepalese restaurant in the area, but what a terrible idea. The chana masala and eggplant curry were in a watery, flavorless "sauce," and the saag paneer simply had no flavor. Oh yeah, even the naan was dry. This was absolutely unacceptable! Cost: almost €70. We contacted them immediately, but still no response. Very disappointing; we definitely won't be ordering takeout again!

Fantastic experience! We enjoyed the delicious three-course meal, which was generously recommended by the friendly staff. The menu included a wide variety of curries and roasted vegetables with rice and various types of naan. Everything was made entirely vegetarian upon request. Highly recommended. We'd definitely love to come back!

The owner was very welcoming, the food was quite delicious, and the presentation was beautiful. We were the only customers, but I think it was probably because it was raining at night and the restaurant is located in an alley. We would definitely visit again!

We ordered Dal Makhani, Naan, Vegan momos and Chicken Pakora. Everything tasted amazing! Highly recommend it. We were attended by Khema whose service was great too! Homemade peppermint at the end was a pleasant surprise as well. :D

My husband and I tried Nepalese food for the first time and were amazed 😀. It was unusual, but delicious. The authentic presentation of the dishes and the unusual combination of spices allowed us to touch upon Nepalese traditions.
