Highly recommended I’ll definitely be back! The food was absolutely delicious. I had the shakshuka and the pancakes-they were so good that I didn’t even have time to take proper photos before I ate them. We sat outside, and the atmosphere was very calm and peaceful, with no unnecessary noise I gave 5 stars in every category except service, only because we had to wait quite a while for our food. That said, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and kind.

Fantastic experience, a wonderful and quick welcome. If it's just the two of you, there's no need to book, but for a larger group, I think it's best. The quality of the meal was superb, with homemade sauces. I highly recommend it if you're in the center of Amsterdam.

Hands down the best brunch spot in Amsterdam! My boyfriend and I found this place on Instagram, and it completely exceeded our expectations. The location is absolutely beautiful—cozy, rustic, and exactly the kind of atmosphere we love. It’s right along one of the canals in the Jordaan, away from the crowds, and everything is incredibly well organized. When we first arrived, there wasn’t a table available because we hadn’t made a reservation. However, Lisa, who welcomed us, was amazing. She actually ran after us once she found a spot for us, and we truly appreciated her kindness and effort. A big thank you as well to Andreas, who looked after us throughout our visit. He was incredibly friendly, funny, and knowledgeable, making us feel welcome from start to finish. It’s honestly rare to find staff who are this warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. The food was outstanding—fresh, high-quality ingredients, a fantastic variety, and excellent value for money. Every single dish was delicious, and we honestly couldn’t find a single thing to complain about. We can’t recommend this place enough and we’ll definitely be coming back again and again!

Outstanding brunch. It was busy when we visited, but the food was absolutely worth the wait. The Kater Breakfast Sandwich with the hash browns was faultless – easily one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had. Everything was fresh and packed with flavour. Highly recommended if you’re in Amsterdam.

We stopped here for brunch while visiting Amsterdam from Chicago, and it turned out to be one of our favorite meals of the trip. The menu is creative and full of unique brunch options. We tried the Colonel Caesar with crispy fried chicken and perfectly poached eggs, and the Korean-style fried chicken. Both dishes were packed with flavor, beautifully presented, and different from the typical brunch menu. The coffee was excellent, the iced matcha was refreshing, and even the fresh juices were great. The service was friendly, attentive, and welcoming from the moment we walked in. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere, and the canal-side location makes it an even better place to enjoy a meal before or after exploring the city. If you’re looking for a brunch spot in Amsterdam that’s a little different from the usual eggs and pancakes, this place is absolutely worth a visit. Great food, great service, generous portions, and a memorable experience. Highly recommended!

I recommend the food was excellent I had the Kim's Tacos with chicken tenders t It was delicious swell served. My friends also liked it one took Eggs Benny & the Jets and the other the Shak Attack both appreciated a lot. All of us got the fresh juice orange, carrot & ginger super good too. The staff is really helpful and the service is quite fast.We'll come back.

This is the most clever restaurant I’ve been to in a long time. The flavors were so ridiculously good and inventive, I was smiling as I was eating, which is weird to say but completely true. I’m from the southern US and I’ve seen infinite variations on chicken & waffles, but the sweet hot chick was such a sophisticated take with some smart and fun Dutch adaptions. 11/10, my highest compliments to the chef. I also got a poblano margarita and there’s a touch of mezcal in it that hit absolutely right— this was a serious drink, one of the best I’ve ever had. We also got the Colonel Caesar salad and the way they deconstructed everything made it taste so immediate and fresh. Just a ridiculous menu. It was seriously next level all around, a great take on food. Worth the hype and more. Thanks for the experience!

The food was terrible here - felt like I was eating cardboard. The service was also below average. This is one of those places that doesn’t have to try hard at anything because they are well located. They are busy because of tourists. Perhaps I just had a bad experience. Either way I won’t be back and I don’t recommend it. Find another place to go - lots to choose from.

Cool place, but you really get the feeling you're bothering the hostess. Luckily, the food was plentiful and tasty, and the waiter was friendly. It's a shame the music was so loud.

Great food, most options are a bit heavy eg fried and filling. We were a group of 7 and we booked online the day of and had no problem booking. Servers were all very friendly.

The staff were super friendly. We got there around 6 pm (18 hr) and were seated right away. The food was delicious! Highly recommend the Caesar salad! Also loved the waitress’ recommendation of the ice cream croux!

We really enjoyed our meal here-the pancake was the best thing on this table. It was cooked in a skillet and was thick and was like a buttery cornbread. Just wow. The shakshuka dish was also really good. My friend got some sort of dish with guacamole and she liked it. The staff was really nice and the service was overall great. They also have outdoor seating right in a canal, but it was too hot for that for us. Oh! And the music was great-R&B

This place is excellent! The food and drinks are really good. We got the social standard burger, fries, and halloumi fries and all were awesome and the flavor was phenomenal. The staff is also really nice and accommodating. I went here twice because the food is that good!

Great brunch! Our group had the shak, eggs with sour dough, vegan burger and the tacos. Also the Fritz cola which was almost better than Coke Zero! Our server was Kevin who was very on top of things and funny. Excellent service! Definitely would go back.

Incredibly friendly staff. We sat outside and it happened to start raining and they replaced all of our silverware and cups. If you want to sit inside make sure you reserve ahead of time.

I don't usually write reviews on Google Maps, but since I haven't been able to think about anything other than the vanilla-peach overnight oats (peach perfect) for the past two weeks, I just had to write this review. The combination of creamy vanilla overnight oats with chia seeds, poached peaches, and peach mousse is simply a dream. The presentation looks absolutely beautiful, too - 10/10 recommendation. The location is also gorgeous, right on a canal, and their coffee is phenomenal too! Highly recommend!

I arrived at breakfast time and told the receptionist I wanted a table, and there were tables available. She said I had to make a reservation and wait two or three hours. I told her I had a flight and would eat quickly. She said, "I'm sorry, I can't." I was hoping to try the restaurant, but I didn't expect that response from the receptionist.

The servers were great and the place it self is clean, cute and a nice location. It is however very expensive and clearly made for tourists and not locals. The cheesecake was 6 euros and very small.

We had a disappointing experience. We waited a long time to be seated, and several groups who arrived after us were given tables before us. Once seated, the drinks took forever to arrive because the waiter forgot about us... The place was also extremely loud, making it difficult to have a conversation and enjoy the meal. Overall, the service and atmosphere did not meet our expectations.

What a wonderful find on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. We had just finished our bike tour of Amsterdam and needed a spot for a drink to take in the atmosphere. Some too busy, some too sunny - and like Goldilocks, we found the perfect spot. Snagged a table outside, right by the canal and had two beers in a flash - served up by a fellow Aussie. Settled in for a glorious afternoon, people watching and soaking up the canal-side vibe. Only had snacks but will aim to be back for dinner tomorrow! Thanks Ainsley for the great service and chat about life in Amsterdam as an Aussie. Highly recommend.

We arrived without a reservation on a Monday holiday, which was quite a risk on our part. However, the hostess was exceptionally kind and skillfully arranged a table for us near the canal just before the next guests arrived. Despite having only an hour, the service we received was excellent. The delicious food and the wonderful hospitality from our waitress, Ainslie, truly made our experience outstanding. We would certainly love to visit again (definitely with a reservation ofcourse haha 😌)

GET THE SOURDOUGH WITH EGGS AND POUR THE HOMEMADE KETCHUP ON TOP IT’S UNBELIEVABLE But apart from the amazing food, Box Sociaal has the friendliest staff in all of Amsterdam. Such a warm and welcoming environment. The food is also always such a hit.

My partner and I came in for some breakfast and as usual, the Sweet Hot Chick was amazing. One of my favorite breakfast stops in Amsterdam, especially because of the fried halloumi fries. The regular fries were a little wonky, but I chaulked that up to the fact that we had some sweet/spicy breakfast stuff in addition. Overall, wonderful experience as usual.

The shop is very nice, large, has many tables, has many options for breakfast. The quality of the food is good but the prices are a bit expensive for the quantity, the coffees are mediocre. Very polite staff, very welcoming and nice atmosphere, nice area in general for a walk and you can sit there to eat and drink comfortably.

The place is nice. The wait isn't long. The food is delicious. We had a very tasty roasted chicken and a delicious breaded cutlet. However, they don't sell many drinks other than cocktails in the evening. We felt we weren't treated the same as those who ordered a lot of cocktails. But I recommend going to try it; that's what we had for dinner.

the food is average and they only allow you to stay for 1.5 hours… our table wasnt ready on time so we actually got less, meaning our food and drink was rushed. the servers were very friendly though

The coffee and food were good, but the place is very crowded. We had to sit literally a meter away from another couple and could hear their conversation clearly. Everyone is packed closely together, which felt quite uncomfortable. Overall, it’s a good spot – but only if you don’t mind eating in a very crowded environment.

Great lunch experience, the food was amazing with very quick service. Many different options, including many vegetarian ones. This restaurant was also dog friendly which was very nice.

The wonderfully kind hostess was able to make room on the reservations and squeeze us in. Thank goodness she did! Sourdough toast was incredible, and the bacon was crispy and the egg perfectly prepared so that it oozed onto the egg sandwich.

Super chill environment with really friendly staff and great service. The food was immense. My fellow dinner had, in his words, the best halloumi fries and the best beef burger he’s had in two years. He’s a foodie. My pumpkin soup and sourdough was sublime followed by the salmon tartare with beetroot. Wow. Also enjoyed the non alcoholic drinks. Delish. We’re extremely full! Highly recommend. We would definitely return.

This place only gets one less star because they were out of the shakshuka, which I came for. But honestly, I can’t fault the staff — everyone was friendly and helpful. The service was a bit slow, but I’ll put that down to it being a busy Saturday morning. The food was fresh, and the waiter’s recommendation was spot on — I was really happy with it! The coffee was smooth and really good. I’ll definitely be visiting again.

This Place is THE BEST Place for Brunch! We already came 3x over the months and the Quality is consistently amazing! Also the cocktails are really good! Yesterday we had the daily special A Cesar salad bagel with poached egg - pleaaseeeee add it to the menu It was great! :)

Good food and very tasty. Quality was great. They charged us for tap water which I found a bit weird. It is slightly pricey but that’s brunch always. I had Kim’s tacos and a portobello mushroom with halloumi sandwich. The sandwich was great and chicken tenders were amazing

Ordered bread and butter, only to wait 45 minutes for it to arrive. No service of drinks for an hour, only after asking… A third of the table could order drinks, and the waitress was already gone, so we had to wait another 15 minutes before the rest of us could order. Finally, after 1 hour and 45 minutes, the main course arrived — only half the table was served, and the other half had to wait another 15+ minutes before they got their food. I can only describe it as a disappointment. The main course was 22 euros for three tacos the size of a starter, with hardly any filling in them (it was not a shared dining concept with smaller portions). Would not recommend.

We stopped by for a quick lunch and it turned out to be excellent idea 😉 My wife and I had their Mortgage on Toast and this was absolutely great! The coffee and desert (brownies with vanilla ice cream) we awesome. The place has a very nice atmosphere and it is definitely a great stop while exploring Amsterdam. The stuff is very friendly.

We had a reservation at 10:30 and arrived at 10:55. There was a queue, and even though we mentioned our reservation, we were asked to wait. The people in front of us, who didn’t have a reservation, were seated at our table, and we were refused service because it was already 11:00. Our reservation was valid until 12:00. Very poor organization and customer service. I would not recommend this place.

Mostly good but service was bad, I ordered I dish that looked like it contained a fried egg from Instagram page pictures; it ended up to be false picture, there is no egg in the dish; the dish arrived cold with cold beans and bun and ofc no eggs, so basically dish description didn’t match the photo and I only looked at the photo. I tried to eat it but the dish was cold and dull, when I have expected it to be a warm dish as I saw eggs on the picture. I didn’t enjoy cold breakfast so I asked to exchange the dish. Eventually I was asked to pay for both dishes, where clearly there was false marketing about the dish. I asked ro remove it and got a discount of 7 eur. I think I should not have paid for the dish at all. Markering team shoud check if promotional content depicts reality and doesn’t mislead customers, and then its customer fault for not reading descriptions. It’s clear now many customers shop by looking at pictures and asking waiters to bring it. Not happy how that situation was handled, considering I’ve visited this place before and had good experience and high expectations for food and service.

Was seated at the booth for brunch time, no wait around 12pm on a weekday. They had a different menu for the season and got a breakfast sandwich with ice latte. The sandwich was good with bacon, fried egg, a thin layer of hashbrown, and patty. It looks small but it was pretty filling. The ice latte was ok, felt a bit watered down. Bathrooms located in the lower floor and stalls were small. Overall, good place to stop by for a quick brunch.

Everything was perfect, food was absolutely delish 😍 my partner told me it was the best eggs Benedict he ate! We will will definitely comme back.
