Top dishes at a very good price and top service

Just over a week ago with our little son. Prompt and very friendly service, delicious food (I think the nachos todos here are really great) and just a cozy restaurant. Definitely worth a visit!

IT IS SO BAD HERE, THE STAFF ARE WALKING AROUND WITH A FACE LIKE A THUNDERSTORM COULD BREAK AT ANY MOMENT. THEY MAKE PEOPLE WAIT A LONG TIME FOR THE MENU AND ASK IF YOU WANT SOMETHING TO DRINK. IF YOU CALL THEM, THEY SAY THEY ARE BUSY, I'LL BE RIGHT NOW. WITH THIS BEAUTIFUL WEATHER, JUST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SOME EXTRA STAFF WORKING TO SEEM LIKE THE BUSYNESS. I LEFT EVERYTHING AS IT WAS, PAYED THE BILL, AND LEFT VERY QUICKLY.

The food was not tasty and quite pricey for what it is. Portions are also small. The service, however, is nice. That's why 2 stars.

The food here is really delicious; they have an extensive menu. The staff is always friendly and the service is good. It's a nice restaurant, a really comfortable place to sit. I will definitely be coming back here more often and I certainly recommend this restaurant!

We ate here tonight. For once, we skipped a starter and ordered a tournedos and a burger. The food was served reasonably quickly. The tournedos was ordered medium, but was borderline well done. There was also no steak knife to cut the meat; when I asked about this, the response was that the steak knives were, if anything, even blunter. The burger was okay, but nothing more than that. The staff used to be really professional, but I found them a bit less so now. Some of the ladies were a bit haughty, and additionally, something was being taken out of the storage room every minute with a lot of noise; our Doubt was sitting right next to them. Tip: make sure the stock is replenished before the evening starts. Paying the bill was also chaotic. We left quickly afterwards. We won't be returning for the time being, even though it has been good for the past few years.

The terrace is not smoke-free. We were there on Saturday evening and sat in the smoke from a large group the entire time. It's a shame, as it detracts from the taste of the food. We had two courses and skipped dessert because the smoke bothered us too much.

We ate at your place for the second time. Last time it wasn't good, but everyone deserves a second chance. The sea bass was overcooked and bone dry. The Dame Blanche is supposed to come with warm sauce, but it was cold and lumpy. No third time for us.

Letting customers just park bikes at other businesses everywhere; is the municipality going to do something about this?

Nice ambiance, friendly staff, delicious food

Despite having a reservation, the reserved table turned out not to be available, despite having discussed it explicitly beforehand. This is already the 2nd time this has happened to us; all those excuses you receive are of no use, our evening has been ruined again. Many thanks, Brass!!! You can remove me from the guest list because I will never eat at your restaurant again and will spread my negative experiences as much as possible. Many thanks again!!!

You miss the impression of a team that is well-coordinated... the service is friendly, but when the three of you have a nice meal for 200.00 euros, you expect something in return. Main courses were not served together; we asked for vegetables with the main course, which were supposed to be carrots with green beans... but instead, it turned out to be snow peas, green beans, onions, and bell peppers. Furthermore, we had a young group sitting outside with us; the waiter (a young man) recognized the group and there was extensive chatting involving swear words... (adult management of young staff???) There is work to be done! ❤️ and we still left a tenner tip because ultimately it was tasty and we were served reasonably quickly.

We went here for lunch after reading the reviews, but unfortunately, it was not to our liking. Upon arrival, it took a very long time for our order to be taken, and we had to wait a full hour for the food to be brought. The service wasn't exactly something to brag about either. They didn't seem to be in the mood, and everything was just thrown onto the table. Furthermore, the food was cold. We will therefore not be returning here.

A very nice restaurant on Middenweg. Cozy decor, prompt and cheerful service, and an interesting and diverse menu. I've been there several times for dinner, and the price-quality ratio is excellent! The high tea (see photos) was also extensive, with soup, scrambled eggs, sandwiches, and sweets. The sweets seemed ready-made, not homemade, which was a bit disappointing. Definitely recommended!

My spoon fell on the floor and service had a new one for me before I could pick it up.

A beautiful, extensive menu. Excellent food. The "zij-niche" (side alcove) was a great spot for our dinner for 20 people. Everyone was satisfied. Excellent.

We had a wonderful meal at Restaurant Brass! From the moment you walk in, you feel welcome: a friendly welcome, a courteous escort to your table, and even your coat is hung up for you. That's a great start. Afterward, you have plenty of time to browse the extensive menu. Something for everyone, with a fair warning about the game: there might still be some hail in it. An exciting dinner indeed—no guarantee for your teeth 😉. The service is attentive and friendly, and the food? Excellent. After each course, they politely ask if you're ready for the next, without any rush. No feeling rushed, just relaxed enjoyment. In short: Brass is absolutely recommended! 🍽️✨

I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. The waiter had an attitude, and the food took ages to arrive. The atmosphere was also very poor. I'll never go back.

A fantastic experience at Brass! Yesterday, the five of us had a leisurely meal at Brass to celebrate Grandma's birthday. From the moment we walked in, we felt instantly welcome. We were warmly greeted and shown to a cozy table with a comfortable sofa at the side of the restaurant. Our drinks were quickly ordered, and then we were given the menu with an explanation of the daily specials. The starters arrived simultaneously, and after a few minutes, we were politely asked if everything was to our liking. The portions are quite large, and the staff themselves noticed that Grandma, in particular, was quite full. They immediately suggested we postpone the main course – how thoughtful! For our main course, we chose the fish of the day, spare ribs (so tender and falling off the bone), and the Brass burger. Everything was delicious. Only the nachos were a little less to our daughter's liking (this is a personal preference) because they had a bit too much cheese on them. The staff immediately came to ask what was wrong and if there was anything they could do for her. Very sweet and attentive. The atmosphere is pleasant, the staff is always smiling and genuinely welcoming. Our first experience at Brass was truly positive. We'll definitely be back!

Simply a fantastic restaurant. Plenty of time, and no one rushing you because another group still had to eat. Probably felt like a Monday morning today. A few things went wrong. The eel was overcooked and had become a kind of mush. It's a shame, but other times it was 100% perfect, so I'm assuming it was a mistake. Delicious wine and friendly service. You had plenty of time to chat while eating, and then your next menu arrived. We had plenty of time to eat, etc. At 10:15 PM, we were the last to leave. We'll definitely go again, but expect improvement.

December 8, 2025, we had another delicious meal. This time, wild duck breast and wild goose breast, perfectly prepared by the chef.

Everything was fine. However, it was difficult to have a conversation due to the loud noise.

The food is very tasty, and the service is hospitable.

The food was good, but the acoustics in the back of the restaurant were terrible. We couldn't hear each other, and the waitress had to speak extra loudly to make herself heard. We skipped dessert because we were completely overstimulated. Such a shame.

We had a delicious meal from the chef's surprise menu; the food was tender, flavorful, and more than enough! Definitely worth popping in again this weekend. Reservations are recommended, though, as this restaurant is understandably very busy.

The service was very friendly. The food was terrible! The onion soup was so peppery that we sent it back. But the chef said this is normal, so we just paid. The croquette was almost black. The carpaccio was decent, served on a very thin bun. All in all, very poor!

Food is okay. Service is terrible. Nobody stopped by not once to check on whether we were enjoying the meal or offered a refill on drinks. Just nothing very disappointing.

We ate here with four people on Friday night. Despite being packed, the service was excellent and the food delicious. It's amazing how they can handle that even with such a busy crowd. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely evening with our family! The service was very attentive and friendly, even after the appetizer they asked if we were ready for the main course! We were also given every attention, and they regularly asked if we wanted a drink or needed anything! The food was delicious, the steak was perfect, and the dessert was absolutely delicious!

Great restaurant to eat simply in Heerhugowaard. The only disadvantage we experienced was that there is a lot offered for children (children's menu / entertainment bag / box of toys) only no space to change them. A bit of service is not offered here (by both the staff and the owners) and they make you change your child with your own coat on the floor by the toilet...

The place is nice and the starter was served fast as it's prepared in advance. To be honest tuna tonijn 5 spices were poor in freshness and taste (see the photo). It is completely different from the photo on some reviews from a year ago. The cauliflower curry cream was okayish... After that the main dish was not served or cooked probably until the waiter came and asked if we want a main now. It had been 25 minutes since we finished the starter so we were a bit disappointed that the main were not even cooked yet. (We were not drinking just waiting.) The risotto and the steak salad were nice though the seasoning was home cook level. Only the bief was nice and tender! 👌

Had a high tea at Brass with four nice women. Beautifully presented, delicious food, enough for everyone and a nice atmosphere. Definitely recommended.

Christmas brunch. You get a tier with sandwiches and some sweets and a small cup of soup. Coffee, tea and other drinks are included. We had to pay separately for a glass of prosecco. This was stated when placing the order. We had quite a nice seat and the service was friendly, but for €39.50 p.p. the quality of what was offered was too mediocre.

At Brass everything is just right! A warm welcome, beautifully laid tables, a clean menu, friendly service, attractive ambiance and, not unimportant, divine food! Price quality is in proportion. I can't wait to eat there again.

4-7-2024 just a good place to eat. Went for lunch on March 21, 2024 and it was perfect again. 8/20/2023 You can have fantastic food here, but the cocktails are way too expensive. Went again on May 3, 2023, everything was great. good food 8/21/2022.

First time having lunch since the new name. Friendly staff. There is plenty of parking space nearby. I had the hamburger which was very tasty.

What strikes me is that we 3 weeks ago and last week. There is a difference on my plate. We took the same dish. On the last visit there were fewer pieces of meat and only 4 beans and 3 pieces of carrot. It shouldn't get any crazier. Pay more and less on your plate. So Brass is a thing of the past for us
