we came for breakfast and had tomato soup and thai soup (soup of the day) both came with a lovely generous helping of brown seedy bread! the soups were nice and warm and settled in our stomachs very well. our coffees came with a delicious little lebkuchen slice too. lovely to sit outside and watch the toings and goings. thanks!

I don’t like complaining but my experience today in that place was outstandingly horrible. I walked into the place and asked if they had something savory to eat, the lady offered me the menu and I saw that all the dishes there required some time to prepare/ eat while I was looking for a snack. I asked her if they had something to take away and she said “Yes, we do” and gave me a different menu. I decided to go for a sandwich and what they brought to me you can see in the picture below. How I can walk with that bread? Does it look like a snack? I was really upset since I had a meeting and didn't have much time to eat. However, I already paid, and as you can see from the picture this sandwich is completely untransferable. I decided, ok, that sucks, but I'm going to eat it quickly inside and go. At that point lady came to me and said “No, you can't eat it inside, it's only for takeaway, if you want to eat it here, you should pay 3 € extra”🤡 Seriously????? You sold me a product that I can't put in my bag and I have to pay extra if I want to eat it???? On top of that the bread was stale and I couldn't cut it with the knife that they provided to me for 3 €. However, the guy in the kitchen was very kind and cut it for me.

Stopped in for a quick coffee to start my day and loved this adorable spot! I sat at the bar along the windows to overlook the canal as I enjoyed my tasty latte. Staff were insanely friendly as well! 10/10 experience!

a very unique place for me. We ate our brunch here in our honeymoon, and 11 years later, we come across this place again with our kid. Only when we entered it, did we recognize that it is so familiar. What a coincidence!

What a cozy restaurant on the canal. Were here during the Amsterdam City Walk on October 19, 2024 and sat outside on the terrace. It was nice and busy so I ordered with the QR code on the table. This worked very well and our lunch was delivered very quickly and tasted delicious. Only praise for this restaurant. The service is very good, very fast service and friendly staff. It also looks very cozy inside.

Best sandwiches in town, for a real fair price we go there very often and pick one of several available Sandwiches. You can choose different kind of bread and multiple versions of fill ins salmon, pastrami, tuna, cheese, omelette and so on always included fresh vegetables 🥗 Changes are happy to be made from the service

I stayed a hotel down the street for almost a week, and this became my go-to breakfast place. The staff were friendly, service was quick and the coffee was delicious. The croissants were perfect.

Baton se encuentra cerca de nuestra oficina en Amsterdam, así que comimos aquí dos veces. Una vez para el desayuno y otra para el almuerzo. Para el desayuno, tomé un croissant con queso. Era básico pero bueno. El croissant estaba fresco y en escamas. Me hubiera gustado que el queso se derritiera, pero estaba bien. Para el almuerzo, comí un sándwich de ensalada de atún. Estuvo muy bien. Había mucho menos mayo en el atún que en los EE.UU., lo que no era un problema. El menú decía que era Wasabi mayo. Personalmente, no probé ningún Wasabi. El sándwich estaba en un buen rollo e incluía huevo duro. Estaba llenando pero no demasiado pesada.

I come here often, what a beautiful place, delicious food and lovely staff. All sandwiches can also be ordered on gluten-free bread, very nice that they have taken this into account. The music could be a bit softer, but otherwise a great place!!

Cozy brasserie on the corner of Herenstraat/Herengracht. From the 1st floor you can look outside at everything that walks and sails on the Herengracht. Service was smooth, perhaps I could have walked by a little more often to check drinks. For the rest 👌

Lovely place for breakfast! We can recommend the fresh orange juice, granola with yoghurt and fresh fruit, coffee served with a taster of homemade ginger cake and the Dutch mini pancakes. The staff were very welcoming and accomodating.

Great little cafe on the canal. What I love most about this place is that it is situated on the corner facing the morning sun. If you arrive around 8am, you can enjoy a tea or coffee while watching the morning commuters, usually on bicycles. It’s a very unique Amsterdam experience. ☺️

By coincidence of proximity to our hotel, we had breakfast every morning during our 5-day stay in Amsterdam on January 24. The best atmosphere, the warmest atmosphere and an extraordinary service. From the first day, they offered me a "vegi muffim" with the best illi expresso coffee (for lactose and butter intolerance). The hot chocolate offered to my partner, the best "battery charger" to start the best days in and around the city. Health and Peace! 🎗

Great place to have breakfast or lunch. Good quality food and nicely decorated. Portion sizes are great and the view is one of the best in Amsterdam. Price is slightly high, but then again it is in the heart of Amsterdam. Definitely recommend to grab some food or good coffee here.

More of a French diner and on a busy corner 😉 There is outdoor seating facing the canal and neighborhood has a lot to offer. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself is on three tight levels and always busy but the wait is brief. The menu is varied, offering breakfast, sandwiches and sweets. Overall a very pleasant experience!
