Brasserie Hoekenrode in Bijlmer Centrum (D,F,H)

A visit to the Ziggo Dome is a must for us, as is a visit to Hoekenrode. The food is always delicious, and the staff is friendly. The only downside is that when you order a drink, you automatically get a large soft drink, which I personally find quite expensive.

We had a great meal at Brasserie in Amsterdam, the starter and dinner were great and affordable, definitely recommended!

I was here on a day when Ajax was playing a home game, so the restaurant was quite busy. The service was chaotic. Because several people could take your order, and then others had to bring it, no one had a clear overview. There were four of us and we were given three drinks... the last drink we only received after asking three times. No idea why the complete order couldn't be brought to the table. The food was mediocre; we had three spare ribs and one burger. The spare ribs were actually just not good: the membrane hadn't been removed. As a result, you couldn't separate the ribs properly. The membrane was edible but not tasty, so you'd want to separate it before eating. I would never order spare ribs here again. The atmosphere: oh, it was a busy evening. Let's say 'lively,' but this isn't the place to go if you want to chat with your friends. Next time, I'll look for a different restaurant in the area.

Good food, but no prices on the drink chain; 7.50 euros for a coke is quite expensive. We stayed at the hotel next door, where there were flyers for a 10% discount. However, these were only valid when there were no events. It wasn't mentioned on the flyer, so it was almost never valid. We called the manager, but nothing was done. Disappointing.😱😒

Made a reservation at Hoekenrode. Without consulting us, they placed us at Zofusion, also theirs. Confusion would be a better name. What a disorganized mess. Drinks took ages. Then the wrong food order. The other three were good, but the Angus burger was lukewarm. When the three of us finished eating, the order for number four and the fries finally arrived. We had to ask for compensation ourselves, but in the end, we got free fries. The orders of neighboring tables were also wrong. Sent an email with this story. No response.

Absolutely horrible, bitterballen were not good at all and the Beer got served in dirty glasses and were also old beer that tasted really bad Never again There are very other nice places, dont go here

Beer glasses were not cleaned properly, all 3 of us received dead beer in which you could still taste the cleaning agent, a bit of a shame for the price, we did not stay to eat

We ate here before a concert at the Ziggo Dome. As expected, it was quite busy, but that didn't detract from the quality of the food or the service, both of which were excellent. The staff remained friendly and attentive, and the food was served quickly and with excellent care. In short: highly recommended for a meal before a concert!

This is one of my favorite "end of the day" spots, but I do like their steaks as well! You ask "rare", you get rare. Their cook knows his business. Recommended!

Absolute worst place I have been to. 1. There are no proces on drinks 2. I paid 10€ for what supposed to be a fresh squeezed lemonade The lemonade was super sweet and made out of syrup and a few cuts of lemon… After extended discussion with the stuff and manager, we got offered Coca Cola , but not a refund.

The food is a complete disgrace; you pay €20 for an extremely bad burger with a cold bun and a frozen patty. The fries are mediocre, edible, but you'd expect more for the price. The mayo that came with it had been sitting on other plates for a long time (I assume), as a yellow layer had formed on the white mayo. The drinks came in an extremely small glass, which is a disgrace for these prices. The ambiance is nice and modern at first glance, but upon closer inspection, you can see a lot of dirt on the "clean" tables. The glasses weren't very clean either, and there are lots of stains on the tables and napkins. The only thing that could be considered acceptable is the service. The staff were quite friendly, but again, very unprofessional for the price. I would advise anyone considering eating at this place to stay away, as the price-performance ratio is appalling. Go to McDonald's or Burger King instead; there you know what you're getting, and at a better price, too.

2 had Pasta Carabonara and it was fine. 2 had the burger and it was probably the worst burger we have ever had. Tiny glasses of soda. Definitely NOT worth a return visit.

Rip-off! After the concert, I quickly stopped for a drink on the way back to the car. There were no prices listed anywhere, and I had to pay for three of those fake sodas for a total of €22.50! As far as I know, I wasn't at the Red Café in St. Tropez. I won't be going there again.

Great food. Eating out in Amsterdam is a bit unusual; you're always spoken to in English. The staff is very friendly. If it's busy, you'll be seated right next to other diners. It gets especially crowded during concerts.

We ended up here for a concert. Food really great. Don't think too hard, just eat well. Service was also great. They came by several times to see if everything was okay or if we needed anything. After the concert we went back for a drink. Definitely recommended. Spacious terrace too!

I have been there on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The staff is incredibly friendly and work hard. Even when it is busy they remain friendly. However, when it is very busy with events you have to wait a long time, and they do not have time to clear the tables. On a large terrace it is not enough if two people take the orders. The atmosphere remains good among each other. I also come there for the staff. Because I come there often I also try to reassure the guests that it is not normally the case that you have to wait long. Also book in advance with events if you come with several people. It is not the staff's fault. They try to please everyone. The cocktails are delicious and the food is fine.

The food is fine but the service leaves much to be desired. Asking for a smaller portion was not possible. Before you can order something (drink) it takes at least half an hour before they notice you, that also applies if you want to pay, we almost walked away without paying, asked five times for the bill. Too bad. Many customers walked away because no one came to ask what they wanted to order.

The food was to salted not tasty and i order one beer and i must 40 mimutes waiting for one beer so i ask an cleaner for my drink and he give me one beer for 10 euros

We were there when Robbie Williams was playing. The 12 o'clock is a must. We also ate in the evening, when it took forever before someone came to take the order. It was also very busy. Really a lot of staff but too few who can take orders. There are those who work very hard and there are those who stand around with a cloth in their hand doing nothing. Many do not speak Dutch. Fries with chicken satay were okay, but on the expensive side. The most ridiculous were the prices for the drinks in plastic cups, 12.5 euros for a liefmansje. The cups were not that big either. The prices of the drinks were also not mentioned anywhere. You are simply being RIPED OFF here. They simply add 5 euros to your drink. RIDICULOUS.

Let me start by saying, the food and drinks are good here. If you visit this place for an event, after five you will regularly have to wait half an hour in line. Do you want to order food? Add another half hour. When ordering food you have no idea what the bill will be, only to find out that you have to pay 12.50 euros for a simple white beer on tap in a horrible plastic cup. Horrible "event" prices. At the event itself I pay half.

Very cozy, it was very busy because of the Toppers. The service was also very busy, had a lot of respect for that. They worked so hard. The kitchen was also busy but the quality of the food we had was great. I would like to give all the staff a very big compliment. You are also great

9 employees on the terrace, empty terrace!!!! We waited 2 hours to be served... And they only came because we called 5 times!!! Unacceptable, and the last time we called someone, 5 employees were pointing fingers choosing who should go! Booked in advance with a group of 12 people. Email contact was quick. Ate on a Tuesday. We were kindly received and sat outside on the terrace. Drinks were quickly taken and served. Food (starter, main course and dessert) were of good quality and were served quickly. Toilet facilities were fresh and clean, nice place also on the inside! Friendly staff and friendly owner. We will definitely come back here!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Brasserie Hokenrode. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting. Went here to sit on the terrace before a game of Ajax with some friends. Unfortunately, lack of personnel caused us to wait for 33 minutes for four drinks! 😳Although sitting comfortably on a sunny day, if you need to go after the waiters to get your drinks it’s not worth it. I recommend to try elsewhere, unless you want to order the drinks yourself at the bar…

Really bad service & badly cooked food. We asked for rare meat, it came well done, after mentioning to the waiter, he mentioned they would do something, they did not do anything. We also got a crème brûlée, without sugar… first time I see that. The service was slow, and quite bad. For sure, we won’t come back!

Ate here after a long, hard day - it was right next to our hotel so an easy pick. Service was great, polite and accommodating staff. 3 stars is not meant as an insult, I would eat here again, but only if other places were busier. I had prawn pasta and a small Heineken. The food was average, not great, not bad.

Price and quality ratio is hard to find here. Meat was already quite cold when it was brought to our table. Sauce was plopped on your table in a Remia bag. Lettuce was already turning a bit brown. But charge 32 euros for a piece of meat. Only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because of the nice staff.

Spent a while here last night. Appearance is fine, enough place to sit. However, I think the service (talk Dutch) and prices are below par. Cup of coffee €4, apple pie €9.50?! I lost a total of €22.50, the waiter asked me if I wanted to tip 50 cents. Upside-down world.

Big, when it's not busy it's even a bit cheerless. When it is busy, the service can sometimes leave a lot to be desired. But it's not bad for a quick drink with colleagues.

Ate here yesterday, thought it would be nice outside the city. Service was far from what I am used to in many restaurants. Decided to have main course and dessert only. A surf and turf for €36.00 that is not worth €36.00. Too bad, but a new calculation is needed here. Then the dessert, the monkey business, the menu clearly states "and whipped cream", on the bill there is a surcharge for the whipped cream, a bit of a shame.

In the afternoon after getting merch for a concert in the evening, have something to drink and warm up to pass the time. It was empty and unsure if it was open. We were greeted and asked if we were coming for dinner, we ordered drinks and chose a seat in the section assigned to us. I immediately got the impression that we were not very welcome because we only came for a drink. No prices on the drinks list on the menu, strange but assumed decent prices. One of us asked for a coke without ice and was met with difficulty. I had a lemonade myself... 10 euros for a simple lemonade, placed with mocktails so they can probably overprice. 4.50 for a simple coke is also on the pricey side, but that may depend on the location. Splitting the account was not possible. The atmosphere was very unpleasant. I didn't really feel that we were welcome and that the person serving us actually wanted us to leave. I also felt watched and judged by staff and one of them took smoke breaks in between and you could smell it, not very fresh when you sit there. I see plenty of good reviews, just for me and my group, this brasserie was just not it.

Great restaurant for a bite to eat before a concert. In terms of atmosphere, it's a real foodie, but the steak (tenderloin) was more than perfect! Very good quality meat and super prepared. Top!

Very tasty food. Price quality is okay

It was very busy but I had made a reservation. I said I would come with a wheelchair and would like to have a table with a bench as the wheelchair did not fit under the table. Unfortunately that is more common. I sit more comfortably on a sofa and unfortunately not on a chair that is too hard. Turns out they didn't understand this...I emailed him twice, but okay. Finally, after 10 minutes, we asked other people from the table and couch and we were able to exchange tables, but afterwards their order unfortunately never arrived and they left the bios so bad! Things went wrong for us due to crowds and the language barrier, but this was resolved neatly 👍🏻 I asked for a bloody strange steak and the waitress did not understand and others were added and it was arranged very well. Food was tasty but carpaccio was very watery and could have used a little more pesto. Steak was perfect. Just don't think the fries were gluten free because I just got very sick unfortunately! So be careful with your diet! Then heard a lot of people complain that food did not arrive or was much too late... very shocked by people who walked away angry! (The building is not wheelchair accessible, at least if you need to go to the toilet you cannot go up the stairs unfortunately.)

Would NEVER recommend this restaurant. It took more than half an hour before we could communicate what we wanted to order, only to have to wait almost an hour and a half for the food itself - which was mediocre and not as ordered. Only when we wanted to pay for our drinks and actually want to leave did the staff communicate that the food was actually coming. We should have just left then, a waste of money. Food not good, waiting time terrible, but above all the service and lack of communication were unacceptable. There were more tables that left early because of the lengthy wait or who had complaints about the quality. Next time to McDonald's, because this is a shame.

You don't come here better, you get an events menu. This menu is made for pounding, and it shows in everything. Frozen carpaccio and even if your bad starter is not finished yet... just keep stuffing because the main course is simply put on the table. Fff by pounding and salting

Nice and close to the famous places such as arena, ziggodome and various. Not cheap!!

Tents in general not recommended, price quality is very poor. Ordered entrecote medium, not a very difficult piece of meat. However, served cold, it was rare and reheated rather than freshly fried.

This is a very strange place. We received a friendly welcome outside the door, but once we got inside no one asked us what we wanted to drink. After waiting half an hour but walking to the bar to order, all 5 employees walk away from the bar at that moment, so we waited even longer.. Got two mulled wine; 7.50 pm. For that price you apparently get two tea glasses of mulled wine here.

If you ask for a medium cooked steak, just be aware that you’ll get a rare. Maybe chief thinks that’s better. Other than that, nice place with good service.

The food is really nothing special and 3 euros for a glass of tap water (where you order spa blue) is quite expensive.

The restaurant is busy, lots of young people, even during the week.

My wife ordered Risotto and Frittata arrived. My meal was as ordered except for incorrect sauce which was quickly corrected. Wife's meal took 10 minutes to correct. When bill was provided it was the most expensive we'd had for dinner in 2 weeks in the Netherlands - in this case it transpired because glasses of wine were 11 Euros each. All through the meal we were plagued by fruit flies. When waiter asked if our meal had been good we asked him why there were so many flies, including those which had landed in our drinks. He replied his home has a lot of flies too. He then told us we were mistaken and my wife had ordered Frittata and not Risotto. As he wasn't the waiter who'd taken the order while I'd been present I'm happy to challenge him. Overall I'd say if you're happy to eat something you didn't order while fending off a cloud of flies and pay a premium for the privilege and having to deal with lying, surly waiters, by all means eat here. We certainly won't again.

We were warmly greeted by a friendly waiter outside asking if we wanted a table, we were shown to our table inside, very nice atmosphere and loved the fast service we got! Food was super delicious. We had the salmon & fries. Really good service and would come here again.

The problem wasn't so much that the food was mediocre. But the service.. It seemed as if no one wanted to serve us, the service did not come by themselves at all, and we left about 35 minutes after we had finished eating, when we walked away our plates and cutlery were still on the table. Was heading there anyway but was almost pressganged into going in by one of the staff. Was then asked within 10 seconds what we wanted to drink - hadn’t even opened a menu - asked for 2 pints, got 2 halves. By the way - there are no prices for drinks on the menu. Almost immediately was asked what food we wanted. Felt it was a rush to have us sat there and committed to an order as quickly as possible. After that the service was non-existent….never did get another drink. That said the steaks were excellent. Pepper sauce was clearly microwaved because it was cold until I stirred it.

It's a nice place in a good location but the prices are exorbitant. Two gin and tonics: the gin alone costs 11 euros. Two different types of tonic cost respectively 4.00 and 5.50 (fever tree tonic). Those were the two most expensive gin and tonics I've ever had in my life. Bottle of Radler 6 euros, half liter of Erdinger 7.50. A simple panini from the lunch menu now costs €11. There was a bizarre price increase about six months ago. Fine if it costs something, but this is out of proportion.

Verry sad food, meat balls not worth to order, chicken burgers with chips and salat, was strong without salat and chips. Only reason you get 2 stars is the sushi and the rice and chicken curry.

NEVER EAT HERE! Yesterday we went to a Sean Paul concert and had dinner here. We had to pay € 310.00 and I paid cash + € 20.00 tip after which the waiter put € 50.00 in his back pocket and pretended he didn't get enough money. We were 4 people and saw all this happen, then I had an altercation with this man. Very rude and inappropriate, dirty scammer!
