Palladium in De Weteringschans

The menu, very strangely, is full of wines but the only foods are the burger and some sandwiches. Anyhow for my Wednsday breakfast it was perfect. The beef burger was good, the girls were super-cute and nice, the place spacious and calm and the view on the street ok.

We went to Palladium on Christmas Eve, the decor was very festive and the food was delicious. Nick provided excellent service via email. Excellent! 😊 Definitely going back.

Food: The presentation of the avocado chicken wasn't great. Lots of cold bacon on top. Large, coarsely chopped pieces of avocado and chicken breast on top. Not your cup of tea. The truffle mayo made it a decent sandwich, though. Service: Hot drinks arrived later than cold drinks and took relatively longer to arrive.

The menu is small, but there's something for everyone. The waitstaff is very friendly, especially the lady who was here for the first time. Fantastic! Recommended: the Palladium salad and also the vegetarian burger. Delicious with sweet potato fries. Just short of 5 stars, because the music is quite loud, which makes people talk even louder. Not suitable for people who can't handle too much stimulation.

Love this place! Palladium is back to its high standard with great food, great atmosphere and great service. Love dropping in for lunch or dinner and then in the evenings the place is transformed in a vibrant bar.

I've enjoyed going to this restaurant for years. The atmosphere was always great: good food, friendly service, and the music didn't reach an acceptable level until around 11:00 PM. That's precisely what made this place a favorite for me. Last Saturday, on my birthday, I decided to return after a long time. Unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment. We had a reservation for 7:30 PM. The appetizer arrived reasonably promptly, but then we waited over 60 minutes for our main course. It wasn't served until 10:10 PM. When we asked where our main course was, the staff politely apologized, but it's a shame this isn't communicated to your guests. What really ruined my evening was the music, which, starting around 9:00 PM, was so absurdly loud that I couldn't even hear the person next to me. After politely asking the staff to turn it down, they briefly dimmed it. Ten minutes later, it was back to club-level volume. I finally went to the DJ myself and politely asked him to turn it down a bit. He did turn it down a bit, but it was still way too loud, and ten minutes later he cranked it up again. It was literally so loud that I gave myself an earache and sometimes had to stick my fingers in my ears. I might as well have brought my earplugs, because the volume we were subjected to that evening was simply unacceptable. It seriously felt like we had suffered hearing damage. This is a restaurant, not a nightclub, surely, while people are still in the middle of their dinner? Turning up the music later in the evening has happened before, but this was different. When we were finally able to pay, I immediately got up. I was completely overstimulated and wanted to get out as quickly as possible. I didn't even feel like continuing my birthday celebrations elsewhere. That speaks volumes. It's a real shame, because this had been one of my favorite places for years. With such long waits and a completely unacceptable noise level, the charm has unfortunately completely vanished.

We had dinner reservations for 3 people (2 adults and one toddler). Once we arrived, the hostess offered to seat us on two top which was too small for our family. I asked for another table which she rudely denied us and told us there is no other tables available. We end up leaving and eating at another restaurant. We rather spend our money at another place.

The staff was very friendly and helpful! I had the smoked salmon sandwich, which was wonderful, along with some fresh mint tea with honey. Absolutely delightful! My partner really enjoyed his steak sandwich as well. Cozy & comfy atmosphere. Highly recommend!

I've been coming here for years. No more. Turns out, the business has been taken over. Makes sense. Top quality is gone. You're invisible to the staff. Now just another place with zero quality.

Staff is very rude, seems they did not have proper training or maybe they where working completely in different field. I thought that I am not welcomed but apparently every one enter the restaurant is treated in the same way.

Very disappointing experience. The hostess (or waitress, not sure of her role) was extremely rude and disrespectful to us. She was impatient, made sarcastic comments, and even mocked us when we were trying to pay. When we said we were ready to order, she ignored us and left us waiting. She also refused to serve us the drink we asked for, and when we asked another staff member, they said it was because there were no glasses available which was clearly not true, since other tables were having the same drink. I have never been treated so poorly in a restaurant. Totally unprofessional and discriminatory behavior.

What a fantastic evening at the "renovated" Palladium! We hosted our private event for 150 guests here, and everything was perfectly taken care of. The food was excellent, and the service from the entire team was truly top-notch: professional, friendly, and with a smile! We still receive enthusiastic feedback from our guests about how much fun the evening was and our choice of this venue. The old glory is back, but in a modern, fresh 2.0 version. As far as we're concerned, Palladium is back!

Got a really disgusting chicken burger. Not a chicken breast file just some grinded meat and fat. They topk it out and I could order something else. Never goung back there…

Palladium has always been one of my favourite spots in Amsterdam! A place I’ve enjoyed for years & recommended to many friends over time. From the vibrant ambiance to the tasty dishes ( tuna steak being my favourite ever & specially its sauce 🤤 ) & central location, it’s always felt like a reliable go-to. After my recent visit, I had the chance to speak with Lianne, one of the managers, & I was enchanted by her kindness, patience, and professional care. She went out of her way to make sure I was heard and supported, and her follow-up was both thoughtful and generous ✨ Service like this is rare, and it’s exactly what keeps people coming back! Palladium continues to hold a special place for me.. not just for the food, but for the way they treat their guests with integrity and heart 🤍

Nice place.... No coffee creamer with coffee... even after I asked. The food could have been a bit warmer... otherwise, very tasty.

The waitress looked annoyed, not smiling at all. Honestly, I’m disappointed first and last time. But on the other hand, she laughs with her friends at the bar.

Horrible experience! Sitting there patiently waiting for the order we placed, you have to ask after half an hour where the food is, only to be told something went wrong and the chefs are only just starting to prepare it. We couldn't even get an extra drink, as we had to wait a long time for that as well, and then we asked a staff member where it was. It turned out the staff had forgotten to place the order. We left everything there and left. Not for us! This was Friday, July 18th, around 6:30 PM.

We were a bunch of vegetarians stopping for a quick meal before a movies at the Pathe City next door. We were able to get a table as walk-ins. We had initially planned to stop at Maoz falafel, but realized after stopping by that it was not a restaurant. Palladium seemed to be the only restaurant on the side street that seem to have more than just one vegetarian option. We ordered the tomato soup, pesto, pasta, house-made vegetarian burger, burrata and fries. The pasta was surprisingly good. The burger was mediocre. The tomato soup was excellent. Overall, although the selection of vegetarian items were very small, the taste was pretty decent. The location is fantastic as it is very close to the Amsterdam Marriott. The ambiance was quite nice as well. The service was decent, but not exceptional.

I visited this restaurant with some friends. Most of us ordered coffee, and one friend ordered a mint tea. Unfortunately, the mint served was in very poor condition — almost half of the leaves were black. We were surprised that a product in such a state was offered to customers. We had expected better quality, especially from a place that seems to pay attention to details. Hopefully, more care will be taken with these things in the future.

Neat, nice, neat people, mature young and old, nice environment. The menu mainly consists of drinks and some special snacks such as homemade fries, ny cheesecake moelleux au chocolat. Some staff are a bit disinterested.

Palladium is a cozy, atmospheric restaurant and it's a nice place to sit here after a visit to Pathe City and Palladium, which also turns into a cozy club around 10:00 PM, which is of course what you come for. A friendly request to the Employees of Palladium. Would the Employees of Palladium no longer send the bill to the customer unsolicited if the customer has not yet requested this?

Good location, positives right about end there. Rude and inattentive staff and overpriced less than mediocre food. Go somewhere else.

I can not tell anything about the Food, but the Service on 19.01.25 was „not good“. We have been waiting for a bit more than 30 Minutes and did not even had our Drinks. We just ordered two coffees, nothing special. We left without consuming anything, and so did a few other guests we met in another Restaurant near this one. I am not the biggest Fan of writing negative things, but there has been zero effort to keep us as customers. If someone is not able to use the Coffeemachine, this is absolutely okay, but for the next time, how about handing just a simple water, or a small snack to the waiting customers. It’s no science, but then I see that you are caring. Will not come again. Anyways, looks nice and cozy inside

After ordering a coffee, which also took half an hour to be served, we waited more than 20 minutes for the menu while we were alerted that a colleague was coming. Very bad this from Palladium.

Not a cheerful staff, very impersonal, food was fine, the meat was tender but very boringly presented, you have to order a bowl of fries separately! Atmosphere/ambiance, it works! Personally won't eat there a second time! Personnel was decisive for poor grade.

What disgusting food. I don't know who is in the kitchen, but the people here have never worked in the kitchen. If you fancy dry bread with 2 strings of arugula, this is the place for you! They have never heard about how to present the food and how much toppings you should put on a sandwich. This is why this restaurant hasn't been running for a few years. Everyone is talking about how bad the kitchen is. Take the kitchen staff to another sandwich shop or possibly to the other side (American hotel) so they can see how sandwiches are served. Every time we hope for improvement and order something, but unfortunately you are disappointed again. A shame! Put a decent chef there and you'll see how full you are every day like you used to be.

After walking past what seemed like dozens of restaurants, looking for something that appealed to us, we decided on The Palladium. And we were glad we did. All 3 of our servers were very friendly and attentive. Their sauvignon blanc was an excellent wine. The tapenade and gambas tempura were both very good. The Gamberetti was excellent and mussels were perfectly done. Everything was worthy of 5 stars. We were a little surprised it wasn't busier, as the food was all fairly priced, and service spot on. An excellent choice.

Nous sommes venus pour boire un verre pour se détendre après une longue journée de marche à visiter la ville. Ma sœur, qui a le malheur de fermer les yeux pendant 2 minutes, car elle était fatiguée , tout en restant très bien positionnée à table se prend des reflexions de la part du gérant du restaurant lui demandant de sortir et de prendre une chambre d’hôtel si c’est pour dormir dans son restaurant. Je n’ai jamais vu un manque de respect de la sorte. Mis à part le gérant qui ferait bien d’être formé sur la relation client, surtout à son grand âge, la décoration du restaurant était sympa, les boissons correctes et la première serveuse relativement agréable.

Sit here all day and eat and wow! I am really positively surprised! I also tasted excellent Tenderloin steak and the tuna steak from my group and it was really delicious. Definitely recommended! And lovely staff😊

I went for breakfast and it is a very nice place, the croissants, coffee and hot chocolate were delicious and the service was the best.

The truth about this place is much darker than you could ever imagine. The waiters will attack you upon entry with very inappropriate questions. After just a few seconds. They want to know what we are going to eat and blow very loudly if the answer does not suit them. The food is horribly overpriced for ridiculous pieces of salad from the day before. The waitress almost throws our glasses in our faces, it's surprising the first time and expressly asks for a tip for the quality of the work. I laughed and am everywhere, that’s the truth.

Palladium is no longer what it used to be, it is actually sad to see the downfall of palladium since corona. Since Dave the doorman is no longer there and a few other weirdos are at the door, I have had several incidents. I'll start with the most recent one: I had my dinner at Palladium which was very tasty by the way, the male employees were very nice guys who joke and make you feel comfortable, but they need to fire those ladies. What energy I get from them, I ask for some salt and if they can give me new cutlery because mine fell and they sigh and give it without eye contact or without saying please when I thank them. In any case, it was a year ago that I went out on the Leidseplein and I thought, you know, I'm with my wife and her friend, I want to give them some fun too. Well no, the doorman tells me that it is only for regular customers. Then my jaw dropped, I'm not a regular customer? I'm almost 30 and I came to this place when I was 20 when I was still a student, never had any problems, always thanked the doormen with a nice gesture in a very generous way. I know the etiquette of going out, no cap, no bag, no sneakers, my wife and I were on a date and we looked very chic, so it certainly cannot be based on “the wrong outfit”, after all, we have had our dinner there. I then spoke to the best gentleman and told him that I always come here when I am on Leidseplein and that we have already eaten today. But no, he had to show his dominance. And then I told them that I know what it was about, of course I have an Arab appearance and that must be the reason for the refusal. And then he just laughed it off, then a couple comes in, asks for their ID and they go in. And then my clog broke. The tent was already empty, I peeked inside, and sure enough, I only see blonde people or people with a European appearance. Out of frustration I walked to the doorman and asked is this a party for white people only? Because you asked for proof of identification, but since when do you ask for proof of identification from a person you define as a regular customer? Last weekend I asked other doormen who used to work at Palladium and with whom I still paddle occasionally and they gave me a firm message: MOROCCANS/TURKS/SURINAMERS/ANTILIANS ARE NOT WELCOME AT THE OWNER'S CHARGE. Save your trouble, it's not worth it to go to a tent that you don't want in advance. Too bad the food is great, but my honor takes precedence over eating at a restaurant with a racist owner and a racist policy.

Dinner in this wonderful restaurant made our first day in Amsterdam complete and unforgettable!🥰 We were greeted and welcomed so warmly by the staff. It was a great feeling to be a guest with this young and energetic team. And you immediately felt really comfortable in the cozy atmosphere💫 But the absolute highlight was definitely the food! We agreed that we had never eaten anything so delicious in our lives and were truly in heaven🥰 An absolute dream and fully recommended! (Pasta Salmone - black tagliatelle with salmon in oriental sauce)

We ordered every starter off the menu, and they did not disappoint. The starters come in medium portions, perfect for sharing and would definitely recommend. The atmosphere is great; it's quite relaxed early in the evening, making it a perfect spot to enjoy food and music. In the evening, it transforms into a more lively spot with a DJ (mostly R&B and house music).

It is special that cocktails are only served here from 5:30 PM. Food took a very long time. Other tables had already received food and we waited more than 40 minutes for 2 cold starters. Service was friendly but apparently inexperienced when it comes to cocktails? No more palladium for us!

Raaarrr, we received our main courses without any vegetables, lettuce, bread, pasta or potato products. Photos on the site with the menu would lead you to believe otherwise, as there is a nice piece of salmon on some pasta. For 24 euros we get a piece of tuna of 140 to 150 grams with some soy sauce and lime and nothing else. That's not a meal, come on. So add a mini salad for 7.50 and small fries for 6.50, after your plate is already on the table, so you have put together a main course for 38 euros per person. Fortunately, for that price there are many restaurants that serve something much better, with better service, without any stupid 1.00 per toilet visit jokes.

It used to be a really fun thing. Less so these days, which is also reflected in the service, quality and audience. But still the permanent place in Amsterdam.

Charging for the use of a toilet in a restaurant is probably one of the silliest things I've ever seen. How are you supposed to pay if you don't have any coins with you? P.S I didn’t just want to use the restroom, I ate here.

Food is mediocre, 7/10, but a nice place to hang out with friends at. However, even tho you dine in here, you’d have to pay 1-2 euros which is unheard of. The lady won’t let you use the restroom unless you pay her 😂😅 I don’t understand why

Was here well after lunch just for a wine, so don't know about the food. About four white and four red by the glass. Pinot Grigio was typical. Not many people, but service still slow but staff was friendly and polite. Luckily I wasn't in a hurry and just relaxed. Playing lots of 80s/90s American music.

Menu is limited based on the time of the day. Staff is quite young and a little slow, we waited quite some time for them to notice us. Overall the food was fine but for that price u expect a little more. Iterior is more for a coctail place, house music mostly. We paid over 100 e for stake, qyoza and some cesare salad.

Kindly received by a male employee on Tuesday evening. The two girls walking around had their heads on fire. 0 times seen a smile. It took 20 minutes for someone to come to our table to take drinks. And no, it wasn't busy, there were 5 tables. The girls thought texting behind the bar was more important than taking care of their guests. Tried several times to make contact to order something. But no attention for the guests. After 25 extra minutes we decided to leave. The bill and PIN machine were shoved under our noses while the girl looked outside with a disinterested head. If we had walked away without paying, they wouldn't have noticed ;)

We really enjoyed our meal here. Lovely, friendly service, good food and nice wine. It offers a good choice of dishes at a good price and our waiter couldn’t have been friendlier or more attentive.

What a ball tent😂 After having had two excellent lunches, I went to eat with a group of 10 and we soon discovered that this was really a ball tent. I agree with Palladium, you have a team of beautiful ladies and the general public of guests falls under the category “oh look at me hip Amsterdammers”. The starter arrived irregularly and some of it did not come through properly, so we ate our starter in stages. Continuous confusion in our drinks (part did not arrive or only arrived after indicating again). Staff was very nice, but clumsy and many mistakes. Main course went a bit better, everyone enjoyed their food so nothing to complain about. We skipped dessert so nothing to say about that. What is a super strange policy that after a certain evening time using the toilet suddenly costs €1?! After having eaten hundreds of euros, you still need to go to the toilet to pay for it😂 Bunch of idiots, this is the reason why we completely ignore this instead of a nice tip (hope the few euros in toilet profit are worth it to you). Even the clerk thought it was strange that we were being paid for this, but the strict toilet attendant insisted that even though I was a paying guest of the restaurant, I still had to pay one euro for a toilet visit prior to the evening. was simply free. So in short, a nice place to have lunch and I think it will be a great "look at me" party later in the evening, but don't eat here😂👋🏻

Terrible experience from the beginning. Asked for a table for 6 friends and the waitress was almost looking for a reason to turn us away and then rolled her eyes and gestured us to a table. We then ordered our food which the same waitress didn’t write any of our order down which is fine if you’re good at remembering except she didn’t as one of our friends didn’t receive their main. He then had to sit and eat it whilst we had all finished. The waitress never apologised and actually didn’t believe she was wrong to begin with as she went to check the till for the order to prove this and just laughed about it. Overall terrible experience and wouldn’t return.

This was the worst lunch I have had in a long while. After an hour wait, the burrata salad consisted of one burrata and some sliced tomatoes. That for the price of a lunch salad. Why is this still on the menu, it's referenced in many bad reviews? I left hungry to get something at the supermarket.

A truly terrible experience at this restaurant. We have booked tickets for the New Year's Eve party 2023/2024 for four people. This included a three course meal for everyone and also champagne for four people. The drinks had to be paid for separately. Everything together cost hundreds of euros. After dinner the tables were cleared and everything was prepared for the party. Up to this point it was possible to use the toilet without any problems and free of charge. When I later wanted to go to the washrooms, a woman in front of the toilet pointed out to me that I had to pay for it (1 or 2€). When I pointed out to her that we had now paid at least €600 for food and drinks and were surprised to suddenly have to pay for the toilet, she grabbed my arm, pushed me back and told me that if I don‘t pay, I should leave. I have never experienced such outrageous and disrespectful behavior.

We had tickets on NYE for the dinner and the party afterwards (100 € / person). As soon as the (delicious) meal was over, we had to pay extra money for the toilet! After we had eaten and drunk for several hundred euros?! The cleaning stuff at the toilet was also very rude. We then left the event and continued drinking in another bar. And what I almost forgot: We also had to pay 2 € extra per jacket at the wardrobe. That's just embarrassing.

Bediening heeft geen enkele keer gevraagd,of dat t smaakt of alles oké was .hadden t te druk met elkaar ,allemaal kinderen die er werkten .totaal geen beleid . Niet voor herhaling .,geen aanrader .

Wir sind spontan zum Frühstücken eingekehrt. Sehr guter Kaffee und schnörkelloses Braisserie-Angebot. Freundlicher Service. Sehr schönes Ambiente. Viel Platz und sehr lange Bar. Wir kommen wieder

Een witte elastische bol, een kransje gehalveerde snoeptomaatjes, wat gescheurde basilicumblaadjes en enkele streepjes balsamico… Na een paar hapjes heb ik het gelaten voor wat het was en de bediening geïnformeerd. Ik vraag me echt af hoe dit de keuken heeft kunnen verlaten? Op de site staat een smakelijke foto van het gerechtje, nou dát krijgt u dus niet. De bediening vond dat ik gelijk m’n onvrede had moeten uiten en dat had ik idd moeten doen maar het gebrek aan het vermogen tot oplossen was echt beneden peil. Had even een goede olie aangeboden, wat groene salade… Soit, Fair enough, in de 25 jaar dat ik er kom is deze beroerde ervaring de eerste.
