Nice place to visit with the family, kids friendly

A lovely spot. Close to the entrance of a hiking area with (short) marked trails. We were here for lunch in December. It's small but cozy inside. The menu isn't large or extensive, but it has something for everyone. They also have a small breakfast menu and a children's menu. The service is a bit hesitant; we had to wave a few times to be helped. It's a great place for a cup of coffee or a simple lunch.

My son absolutely loves the tractor play park and we have always looked forward to visiting. The outdoor setting is fantastic for children to explore and play. However, on our last visit, we were extremely shocked and disappointed by the behaviour of the owner. She shouted, threw a chair in anger, and made inappropriate remarks in front of my children, forcing me to walk along the road with a newborn and a screaming toddler. As a new mother - this was so upsetting and unprofessional, and clearly not the family environment we expected.

The only disadvantage there is that they hardly have any tables for 2, you can join a table for 4 but then you are not allowed to order anything, very strange because if you pay immediately there is no problem

I've removed my 5-star review after two bad experiences at this "peel hut." You're not welcome here. I spent my entire afternoon here with friends and their children, spending a whopping 6 euros per can of beer, and they still managed to spend quite a bit. The owner complained that the children playing were making too much noise. The entire playground is designed for children, but they'd prefer you put a band-aid over their mouths to keep the noise down. We wanted to have dinner here with nine people and get ice cream, but not a cent more is going to be spent here. You could see all the girls who work there looking very surprised at the owner's antisocial and inhospitable behavior. Sell the place to someone who's hospitable; this is simply unacceptable.

It's a great place to stop for a quick lunch or a quick stop. The ice cream, apple pie, and iced coffee were fantastic. The kids also had a smoothie, which they really enjoyed.

Can't say much about the food, as I only ordered " bitterballen " and beer. Which was adequate but probably not representative of their wider range of menuitems to be had. I was not concentrating on the food tbh. Nice family friendly atmosphere. Service is via a digital menu and very quick.

Ordering at the playground is only possible via QR code. It wasn't clear that the order was delivered in two parts. Staff worked hard to prepare everything on time, but there was little opportunity for customer interaction; only later did someone ask if I had a question. The atmosphere was reminiscent of a factory. Prices are high: lemonade €10, can of beer €5.50. The playground is essentially a large sandbox with toys. When it rains, it turns into a mud puddle. There's no shade above the play area, so children play entirely in the sun.

Such a beautiful spot. We happened upon this place on a bike ride and enjoyed some delicious chocolate ice cream. For children, there's a huge sandpit and all sorts of things to explore.

Great little surprise at the end of a 10 km walk through the Dunes. A little weird we were told to take a seat and that they come to take our order only to wait another 5-10 minutes – it was not busy. At all. Ordered a flat white – as an aussie, this is my barometer for a good cafe. It was good. And they take cash. Great view; nice, relaxed atmosphere; friendly staff; huge sandpit for kids to play in with toys provided – huge plus! The only drawback was that the footstool in front of our lounge chairs was not actually a footstool. Shame. The non-footstool was a very comfortable footstool. While the prices for coffee were a bit painful at almost 5 euros, sadly that’s pretty average these days. Very nice they included a little cookie with it though. We’ll be back. 😎👍🏻

Great place to sit down, have a brew and enjoy a snack. Close to the Santpoort train station, the Estate of Duin en Kruidberg, and the 13th Century ruins of castle Brederode. Santpoort station is easy to reach, about 30 minutes from Amsterdam, change trains in Haarlem.

A lovely little restaurant for lunch or a snack. Friendly service. Unfortunately, intrusive birds and wasps make it just about impossible to relax.

Rude and rude. A host who doesn't give a damn. I come with a large group and spend a lot of money, and all I get is a hard time and pushback.

We arrived with a group of 16 people and were therefore not welcome for lunch in the restaurant area. We were rudely turned away and could only eat in the self-service playground area.

The playground is a wonderful place to be with small children. Plenty of toys. Wonderful to be with my two grandsons. Grandpa Cees!

Delicious coffee with very tasty waffles!

I have been coming here for coffee on our walks for years. Lately I have been feeling less and less welcome here. Every week there are more notes with new rules about what is and is not allowed. This morning again about the dogs. They must be kept on a tight leash and under the table during the visit to this farm. The water bowl may not be moved either. You first have to go through a whole series of notes before you can take a seat. It all seems very inhospitable. The service is generally very friendly.

Super nice location. Too bad about the smokers in the middle of the terrace, just when you are enjoying your meal.

Everything is always delicious, quick service, beautiful location. We always have a beer, wine or coffee. Now for a change a fresh rivella and a coke. I thought it was an April Fool's joke. So they really exist in 200 ml bottles. A kind of grab-and-go gift, I forgot to ask if there were any 33 cl bottles or cans left. I really think this is a mockery. Sorry, I just wanted to say that.

Na een middagje wandelen even nog de kids laten spelen op de speelweide. We hadden ze een ijsje beloofd aan het eind, maar het werd toch wel wat fris, dus maar even naar binnen gegaan om daar het ijsje te eten. We zaten achterin aan een tafeltje en de kids waren gezellig grapjes aan het maken, op normaal volume, maar moesten wel lachen. De oudere dame die kwam opnemen sneerde dat ze de mensen aan de andere tafel niet eens kon verstaan. Ze zeggen kindvriendelijk te zijn, maar binnen en op het terras zijn de kinderen niet welkom! Wij gaan hier zeker niet meer heen!

The nicest and nicest brasserie in the region.

Nice location and an extensive menu with vegetarian options. Missed some more vegan options but was a good start. Vegetable croquettes were cold, even after sending them back. But that didn't spoil the fun. A little more attention to vegan and then it would be completely fantastic!

Very inhospitable reception, I wanted to go to the toilet but that was not actually allowed. I reported that we were coming for a drink after the walk, but was not believed...."Yes!!" Exceptionally I was allowed to continue. After the walk we had something to drink here (group of 8 people) Waiter was very friendly! Not a pleasant place. View of sand pit with car tires where children can play. Not recommended.

Nice (outdoor) cafeteria with fantastically beautiful and quiet surroundings. Great playground for small children and you can easily hold a children's party. Tasty snacks and drinks, homemade smoothies, etc. Not only great for a cup of coffee/tea, pastry or ice cream (homemade, ice cream, fries, toasted sandwiches, croquettes, etc.) but also entire meals and there is a compact restaurant inside. Spacious parking space for bicycles.

Nice atmospheric location for a nice lunch/cake. Unfortunately we were unable to go inside due to crowds, but we did go to the covered heated terrace. Excellent lunch, well priced, but not terribly expensive. Just fine.

This is the most unfriendly place I’ve ever been in the Netherlands. If you plan to go there, do not bother. They have 100 different rules, how to order coffee, is different then drink, you cannot order food depending on the place you are seated, and if you want to use the toilet after 17:00 you will be kicked out by an old angry woman. Other than that, I place one star for the location, very convenient when you go or coming back from a hike.

Nice oasis to rest, but......(I've been coming here for a long time) things are slowly deteriorating. The Ysjes are being scrapped, so they are smaller. The bouncer is thoroughly fried, the flamc. Too poorly invested for what you have to pay for it. And no orderliness around either No......it is no longer what it was..... Luckily the fries remain great.

Been here several times, UNIQUE location, perfect for a stopover during a nice bike ride or walk through the beautiful nature reserve "De Kennemer Duinen". If you only come here for an ice cream, it's super tasty, highly recommended. Definitely have a cup of coffee, excellent coffee. We had lunch here, very pleasant, amazing quality of the food, not cheap, but very tasty. It was striking how fresh everything was that was served. A small downside, the service is a bit slow and poorly instructed, improvement is needed here

This used to be a very nice, relaxing place. Nowadays you just have to love screaming children, because it's overrun with them. Anyway, this review stems from the fact that I ordered a sandwich and asked for chili sauce (which they just have) but refused to give it with a sandwich. I think I just pay for my food, right? Then I can decide for myself what kind of sauce I want with it? What a stupid idiot who refuses to give me that sauce with my sandwich. Unfriendly staff, bad service, and that toasted sandwich? I think there was a slice of cheese on it, sliced ​​as thinly as possible by them, because it was just 2 slices of toast on top of each other, with almost nothing in between. All in all, stay far away from here these days, what a nice place it used to be, unfortunately nothing remains of it today.

Very disappointing menu for a restaurant at such a fantastic location. The surprise menu was a table spoon size piece of fish and overcooked duck with two small pieces of green asperges and some gravy. No normal tableware and very slow service. Never going back, we expected a more upscale experience.

Must order via an app. Order ok but payment could be a lot better. Not very clear, I'm not a digital person, but I couldn't figure it out. (Later I understood the mistake of mine) There is a clear explanation of how to serve the order, which is quite large on your screen. You have to confirm this with a check mark and it is very small. I looked over this and wanted to pay, but without that check mark it is not possible. My proposal is to leave the check mark at Butlaroo or make it larger so that it is clearly readable. I did it a second time and then I saw this check mark. And then you can pay.

Because we stayed in the B&B de Jachtkamer we saw this brasserie. Nice design and certainly child-friendly. Friendly staff and know how to give good answers about what is on the menu. Soup of the day was delicious. Main course (chicken satay) with plenty of fries and salad and of good quality. Really worth experiencing.

Well, as a regular customer, that really went down the wrong way and that's why this review! The customer is king and I was treated as if it was my fault, yes, I was literally told to guard my lunch with my life, which I was already doing, that's fine. In the end there was a professional young man in charge who solved it correctly. I hope when I come back I never have to experience this again. And as a tip, do something about the depression music that is played inside.

Beautiful location in the middle of meadows and opposite the Duin and Kruidberg entrance. Plenty for kids to play and plenty of outdoor seating. Different types of good ice cream. Nice location to go after cycling or walking.

Playground has been slightly improved, fun for children up to 6 years old. Nice stay, delicious food, reasonable coffee. Full of outdoor toys for the children. Nice pit stop or morning destination.
