Just a nice and cozy place to catch your breath.

Nice relaxed spot (morning/weekdays). Great breakfast on the terrace. Downside: It is a shame about the (somewhat weak) vending machine coffee; that doesn't really fit (especially considering the price).

Nothing wrong with it, enjoyed some apple pie and coffee on the terrace. Friendly and efficient service. Lovely spot.

Nice restaurant, but no playground or toys for the children like you see in some photos and videos in the reviews. (Only a small play kitchen in the corner.) We came specifically so our daughter could play outside for a bit, but fortunately the food was good!

The freshly baked fries and the ice cream are especially delicious, and there are some really nice people serving. Always warm and welcoming.

Stopped by during a flat tire incident and people working there are amazingly helpful! Recommend visiting also for the atmosphere! Next to the animal farm and biking path to the dunes and beach!

On Saturday evening, three of us enjoyed a truly fantastic dinner! We ordered several appetizers to share. The waitress was friendly and very helpful, ensuring that all three of us got an extra plate. Every single dish was super tasty! The portions were generous, the presentation was neat, and the flavors were superb. And all that for a really reasonable price! I was pleasantly surprised when I received the bill. Even more plus points: -the sauce bowls are well-filled, so you get value for your money -they sell peach ice tea here, which I always look for on the menu and can hardly find anywhere else! -the nacho casserole had melted cheese not only on top, but also between the chips 👌🏻 -whether you are just stopping by for an ice cream, lunch, or a simple dinner, they really have everything 😊 Please note: -unfortunately, the outdoor playground for children is no longer there! (not their own choice) -the kitchen is open until 19:30 and they close at 20:00! In the winter months they close even earlier, I believe.

Enjoy a lovely bike ride through the Kennemerduinen, then rest here for a while and enjoy excellent catering.

Referred by our friend, came here for the kids garden area with sand, unfortunately is closed. There is no point driving 30km from Amsterdam. Plenty of farms around, lost the leverage I guess. Stuff was kind and very fast. Place is good to chill.

I entered this place with the intention of buying a can or bottle of soft drink to go. An old woman came into my direction, with clear disapproval of my presence, asking in rudely manner how she could help me. After mentioning to her, she said “we don’t offer anything to go”. I didn’t really understand the reaction but obviously left, as I was not welcome.

We visited this restaurant several times during our holiday. Beautiful location, friendly staff, and excellent food and ice cream.

Very nice location with animals roaming in the meadow next to the brasserie! Plenty of outdoor space to eat in good weather. Cozy brasserie with a menu that isn't too extensive. We both chose a fried egg dish and it was delicious! Ideal place to rest for a bit after a bike ride through the dunes from Zandvoort. We didn't have to wait long and the staff is very friendly!

We can only review the ice cream parlor here, even though there are several other dishes on the menu. The ice cream is absolutely fantastic; both the milk-based and sorbet flavors taste simply perfect. The scoops are a good size for the portion, the staff are courteous, and the atmosphere is very pleasant.

I just wish the tables had been cleaned properly so we didn’t have to eat at a visibly dirty table. There were clearly crumbs and pieces of biscuits left behind by the previous guests, and even when we were served, no one seemed to notice or care enough to clean it. Fries was good.

Lovely country estate, With options for sitting indoors, outdoors under a canopy, on a sheltered terrace, and in an open area where children can also enjoy playing. A beautiful spot to take a break after a walk in Duin en Kruidberg, Midden Heerenduin, or a bike ride through the dunes, or simply during a drive.

Het Speelveldje is a great place for parents with young children. The ice cream is also really good.

Situated in a beautiful location, many cyclists and hikers from the dunes come here to get their food and drink. The service is fast and friendly; I love coming here after a walk. I heard all the children raving about the homemade ice cream.

The only place with delicious sandwiches, ice cream, and an amazing playground! I specifically paid attention to the sound of the playing children, because wow, what a nuisance. You can barely hear it. So, killjoy neighbors across the street, next time we'll ring our bells extra loudly when we cycle away!

Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience here. The service staff visibly do their best and work hard with a smile; I respect that. However, I found the owner's attitude very disappointing. She came across as blunt and distant and seemed to prefer to quickly look you away rather than welcome you warmly. To me, hospitality is exactly what belongs at a place like this. It is a shame, because with a different attitude, the experience here would be much more pleasant.

It took them 1 hour to bring us the meal to the table. We only ordered 2 burguers. Unacceptable.

This once so peaceful establishment has turned into one big playground filled with nothing but screaming and whining children.

Nice (outdoor) cafeteria with a fantastically beautiful and peaceful setting. Great playground for small children, and you can easily host a children's party there. Tasty snacks and drinks, homemade smoothies, etc. Not only great for a cup of coffee/tea, a pastry, or an ice cream (homemade, scoop ice cream, fries, toasted sandwiches, croquettes, etc.), but also full meals, and there is a compact restaurant inside. Ample parking for bicycles.

If you ask to change in the restroom after a funeral before a walk in the woods, you're only allowed to do so if you buy something. What compassion and empathy...

A cozy brasserie with a lovely outdoor terrace. It was bitterly cold when we visited, but it was pleasant to relax in the heated adjoining tent. The service was very friendly and prompt, and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. We'd love to return in the summer.

The manager gossiped about her colleagues in front of customers. I was cycling on a quiet Tuesday morning. I had a cup of coffee. The only thing in a small container was a tangerine and a few grapes. Of course, she's allowed to say, "No personal drinks, please throw that away." But then she remarked, "It's quite a lot..." Well, it wasn't. And then, "It smells, and I don't think it's nice..." What's the point? I'm having a hard time, so I got on my bike to feel better and enjoy a cup of coffee there. That was gone in an instant. I sat there with tears in my eyes. Why can't we be nicer? You don't know what someone else is going through.

They only had 4 flavors of ice cream, so I left right away

Nice place to visit with the family, kids friendly

A lovely spot. Close to the entrance of a hiking area with (short) marked trails. We were here for lunch in December. It's small but cozy inside. The menu isn't large or extensive, but it has something for everyone. They also have a small breakfast menu and a children's menu. The service is a bit hesitant; we had to wave a few times to be helped. It's a great place for a cup of coffee or a simple lunch.

My son absolutely loves the tractor play park and we have always looked forward to visiting. The outdoor setting is fantastic for children to explore and play. However, on our last visit, we were extremely shocked and disappointed by the behaviour of the owner. She shouted, threw a chair in anger, and made inappropriate remarks in front of my children, forcing me to walk along the road with a newborn and a screaming toddler. As a new mother - this was so upsetting and unprofessional, and clearly not the family environment we expected.

The only disadvantage there is that they hardly have any tables for 2, you can join a table for 4 but then you are not allowed to order anything, very strange because if you pay immediately there is no problem

I've removed my 5-star review after two bad experiences at this "peel hut." You're not welcome here. I spent my entire afternoon here with friends and their children, spending a whopping 6 euros per can of beer, and they still managed to spend quite a bit. The owner complained that the children playing were making too much noise. The entire playground is designed for children, but they'd prefer you put a band-aid over their mouths to keep the noise down. We wanted to have dinner here with nine people and get ice cream, but not a cent more is going to be spent here. You could see all the girls who work there looking very surprised at the owner's antisocial and inhospitable behavior. Sell the place to someone who's hospitable; this is simply unacceptable.

Didn't eat, just drank a little

It's a great place to stop for a quick lunch or a quick stop. The ice cream, apple pie, and iced coffee were fantastic. The kids also had a smoothie, which they really enjoyed.

Can't say much about the food, as I only ordered " bitterballen " and beer. Which was adequate but probably not representative of their wider range of menuitems to be had. I was not concentrating on the food tbh. Nice family friendly atmosphere. Service is via a digital menu and very quick.

Ordering at the playground is only possible via QR code. It wasn't clear that the order was delivered in two parts. Staff worked hard to prepare everything on time, but there was little opportunity for customer interaction; only later did someone ask if I had a question. The atmosphere was reminiscent of a factory. Prices are high: lemonade €10, can of beer €5.50. The playground is essentially a large sandbox with toys. When it rains, it turns into a mud puddle. There's no shade above the play area, so children play entirely in the sun.

Such a beautiful spot. We happened upon this place on a bike ride and enjoyed some delicious chocolate ice cream. For children, there's a huge sandpit and all sorts of things to explore.

Great little surprise at the end of a 10 km walk through the Dunes. A little weird we were told to take a seat and that they come to take our order only to wait another 5-10 minutes – it was not busy. At all. Ordered a flat white – as an aussie, this is my barometer for a good cafe. It was good. And they take cash. Great view; nice, relaxed atmosphere; friendly staff; huge sandpit for kids to play in with toys provided – huge plus! The only drawback was that the footstool in front of our lounge chairs was not actually a footstool. Shame. The non-footstool was a very comfortable footstool. While the prices for coffee were a bit painful at almost 5 euros, sadly that’s pretty average these days. Very nice they included a little cookie with it though. We’ll be back. 😎👍🏻

Great place to sit down, have a brew and enjoy a snack. Close to the Santpoort train station, the Estate of Duin en Kruidberg, and the 13th Century ruins of castle Brederode. Santpoort station is easy to reach, about 30 minutes from Amsterdam, change trains in Haarlem.

A lovely little restaurant for lunch or a snack. Friendly service. Unfortunately, intrusive birds and wasps make it just about impossible to relax.

The playground is a wonderful place to be with small children. Plenty of toys. Wonderful to be with my two grandsons. Grandpa Cees!

Rude and rude. A host who doesn't give a damn. I come with a large group and spend a lot of money, and all I get is a hard time and pushback.

We arrived with a group of 16 people and were therefore not welcome for lunch in the restaurant area. We were rudely turned away and could only eat in the self-service playground area.

Delicious coffee with very tasty waffles!

I have been coming here for coffee on our walks for years. Lately I have been feeling less and less welcome here. Every week there are more notes with new rules about what is and is not allowed. This morning again about the dogs. They must be kept on a tight leash and under the table during the visit to this farm. The water bowl may not be moved either. You first have to go through a whole series of notes before you can take a seat. It all seems very inhospitable. The service is generally very friendly.

Super nice location. Too bad about the smokers in the middle of the terrace, just when you are enjoying your meal.

Everything is always delicious, quick service, beautiful location. We always have a beer, wine or coffee. Now for a change a fresh rivella and a coke. I thought it was an April Fool's joke. So they really exist in 200 ml bottles. A kind of grab-and-go gift, I forgot to ask if there were any 33 cl bottles or cans left. I really think this is a mockery. Sorry, I just wanted to say that.

Na een middagje wandelen even nog de kids laten spelen op de speelweide. We hadden ze een ijsje beloofd aan het eind, maar het werd toch wel wat fris, dus maar even naar binnen gegaan om daar het ijsje te eten. We zaten achterin aan een tafeltje en de kids waren gezellig grapjes aan het maken, op normaal volume, maar moesten wel lachen. De oudere dame die kwam opnemen sneerde dat ze de mensen aan de andere tafel niet eens kon verstaan. Ze zeggen kindvriendelijk te zijn, maar binnen en op het terras zijn de kinderen niet welkom! Wij gaan hier zeker niet meer heen!
