After two hours, we received our appetizer and fifteen minutes before departure, because of the show, our main course, and then without the vegetables we ordered. The staff was friendly, but the woman who brought the food was downright rude. She had absolutely no idea that we were sitting on hot coals. The food itself was terrible and sparse. At the Keizer, you pay like a king but eat like a beggar. That's what we thought.

The reception by the lady with the reservation was extremely unfriendly, the service by the manager was excessive, the wait for the main course was long, we had to ask for the bill twice, the dining table for two was in an awkward position, in a row with other tables for two with less than 10cm between them, making every conversation audible, and the toilet was accompanied by sticky soles on the floor; the toilet wasn't scrubbed for several days (the floor was dirty). Overall, the price/quality ratio was subpar, despite the fact that we had previously had good/better experiences! A disappointment!

It's located next to the Concertgebouw. This isn't the place for fine dining and hygiene. They serve dirty water glasses. The staff had to change a glass three times. Unsanitary! The restroom isn't clean either. The interior is old and dated. We sat on the terrace, and the table wasn't properly cleaned either. One waitress needs a course in customer service. The food is cafeteria-quality. A salmon sandwich seemed very basic, with little variety in the way of vegetables. It's a shame given its prime location near the Concertgebouw.

We booked a table at 6:15 PM. A friendly lady showed us to a table; we were allowed to move ourselves. We ordered wine and food. The first course (Sharing) arrived quite quickly, but the subsequent courses took so long that I cancelled them at 7:40 PM (!). Because... we had an 8 PM concert. Such a shame; we didn't expect this from a renowned restaurant like Keyzer. I understand there were only two chefs. Strange, though. We only had one cup of soup. So, rather disappointing. The staff, however, were very friendly.

Delicious, smooth, friendly, and efficient service!! The escargots are excellent. There were five of us, so we had escargots five times. We've never had such a delicious meal anywhere, unbelievable!! The food is also excellent. The decor is welcoming and beautiful. We really enjoyed it; it's truly very welcoming and cozy. And yes, those escargots, we talked about them for days...

My husband & I had a wonderful lunch here 2 days ago. I had a tosti that was on what seemed to be homemade bread. Yummy, crunchy & cheesy! My husband had the bisque soup & he said it was delicious too. He had an appointment at the nearby consolate, so I stayed at the restaurant & sipped my cappuccino. The staff were all great & made me feel relaxed & welcome. We'll definitely come back on our next trip to Amsterdam!

Yesterday afternoon we had lunch, 12 o'clock and shrimp croquettes, price/quality was fine, soup a bit bland, no pz on the table, but I could have asked, but above all we found the Indian lady super nice and super customer friendly, it was really nice with her, great! Yesterday evening we went to Brasserie Keyzer for the first time. We made a reservation at 17:15, because we were going to the concert hall afterwards. So it was still quite early. After a while of searching, our reservation could be found. Ok, that's possible. After waiting for fifteen minutes, it was still super quiet, someone came to ask if we wanted something to drink. And we were immediately given a large piece of paper with the menu. The sole of over 50 euros was ok, but the asparagus with salmon were not cooked. After they went to the kitchen again, they were reasonable and just eaten, but the amount of 38 euros for 4 asparagus and some potatoes with salmon was really not worth it. A small plus salmon was fine. And they also didn't ask if we wanted to see anything from the wine list. We left quickly after dinner. This was once and never again. Also a negative point, we were seated in the corner at the back, the tables are very close together so you can literally follow the conversation of the neighbors next to you. So unfortunately not recommended

We were given a table for lunch in the crampt veranda overlooking the plein. Barely enough space to squeeze into without leaning against the next table. But that was okay, it seemed cosy. The waiter came, wiped the sticky table and in the process swiped the flower vase onto the floor breaking it. Water and glass everywhere including my trousers and shoes. He came back with an extended dustpan and brush. Proceeded to spread the broken glass and water everywhere collecting very little of the debry. He went away and returned ordering us to leave the table and move and sit at the crampt bar on stools despite empty tables around us..( no they were not booked as people wandered in asking for a table and were offered them) quite a while passed...no one taking an order, no one appologising...obviously they have it too easy. We were so disssapointed and frankly digusted at the lack of hospitality and manners....we left. If you want a relaxing civilized snack or meal don't waste your time going there...As disgusting and uufriendly as mc Donalds is...even they have better customer care...and that's really saying something.

Desafortunadamente, nuestra experiencia en Brasserie Keyzer fue muy decepcionante, especialmente teniendo en cuenta el precio. Las expectativas eran altas, pero no se cumplieron. La comida era muy mediocre: de sabor soso, servida a una temperatura apenas superior a la temperatura ambiente y muy por debajo de la par en términos de presentación. Para un restaurante en este rango de precios y reputación, al menos puede esperar un plato equilibrado y bien preparado. Por un recargo de 9 euros, se podía pedir hígado de pato en los tournedos. El hígado de pato servido, que medía aproximadamente 4 x 4 cm, parecía una esponja frita y el sabor era proporcional. El servicio dejó mucho que desear. Tuvimos que esperar mucho tiempo para nuestras bebidas y el plato principal, el personal era desinteresado y antipático, y las preguntas o comentarios fueron desestimados sin ningún esfuerzo para rectificar la situación. En resumen: pagó mucho por poco y extremadamente baja calidad - tanto en el plato como en el servicio. Si alguien tiene la intención de arruinar su día y estado de ánimo, Brasserie Keyzer es la solución definitiva. Definitivamente no es una repetición para nosotros.

Before visiting the Concertgebouw, we were first barked at by a waitress, we sat down at a table and were told: "Next time you have to wait until I come". No Good evening, nothing of that kind. After the concert, we wanted to have a drink with a bittergarnituur. Bittergarnituur was no longer possible at 23:00, because the chef was no longer there. All in all a very customer unfriendly experience.

Ik had iets te vieren. Keizer was jaren geleden mijn favoriete restaurant. Juist daarom naar Keizer. Ik ging alleen en had geen gelegenheid om me mooi te kleden. Paddenstoel Ravioli was mijn keuze. De ober bracht mij ravioli en liet weten dat de paddenstoelen op waren. Kwam later nog met een schoteltje lauwe losse paddenstoelen aanlopen. Ober geneerde zich ook. Iets aan de hand in de keuken bij Keizer? Was druk, maar toch… Ik betaalde 26 euro voor de ravioli, de ober zei bij het afrekenen, “ volgende keer beter”. Hope so.

Bad experience in this brasserie. First the waiter struggled to take our choices, fastly served but without any forks and knives, and without everything we asked for so we had to ask again two times... Food was good but ridiculously expensive for what it is. Men restrooms were very dirty and dark. Don't wait for a table there, the main hall is not maintened as the wallpaper is taken off at many places on the wall..... We were better served in an Irish Pub, for less money.... That's a fake high-class restaurant.

Den här restaurangen var perfekt om du vill förstöra en bra dag. Det var för övrigt en supervarm och solig dag i Amsterdam och när jag och min mamma kom till restaurangen (kl 15:00) frågade vi om det finns bord för två utomhus bemöttes vi av en dryg ton och handviftande. Innan vi hittade upp ett bord som passade oss så frågade vi om engelska menyer. När vi satte oss kom en annan servitris och gav oss en flaska stilla vatten, trots att vi inte frågat om något. Vi fick inga menyer eller fråga om något att dricka. Efter ett bra tag (30 min) hade paret bredvid oss fått både dryck och beställa mat, och när första servitrisen gav de drickor så sa hon - över deras huvuden - något på holländska åt vårt håll. Vi frågade på engelska vad hon menade, men fick inget svar. När hon sen gav oss bestick så frågade jag efter menyer, varpå hon blev arg att vi inte beställt och att hon frågade om vi beställt men inte fick något svar. Efter en högljudd suck och himlande ögon så fick vi menyer. Jag har arbetat flera år i snabbmatsindustrin och jag har aldrig stött på så dålig service (och då har jag varit med om mycket). Det var mellan lunch och middag och restaurangen såg väldigt tom ut, så överbelastning kan inte ha varit ett problem. Men då vi inte kände oss välkomna så gick jag och mamma vidare. (Efter att jag betalat 8€(!!!!!) för lite stilla vatten) Det bästa med det besöket var att vi valde att gå därifrån och inte slösa dyra pengar på dålig mat och service.

Nothing like the locations in Paris or NYC. The food is ok but the wait time for food (and drinks!) to arrive is ridiculous. The servers are standing around looking lost, and you have to wait for a glass of wine for nearly an hour AFTER they bring your overpriced cold main dish to the table. No one checks on you or asks how you liked it. A little better for lunchtime but DO NOT WASTE your time and money for dinner. Awful.

We waren met vriendin om een koffie met gebak te drinken voor de voorstelling bij de Theater. Mensen die later dan we zijn gekomen waren meteen geholpen. We hebben 25 minuten voor onze koffie gewacht en het begon te laat worden. De gasten die later gekomen waren dan zelfs met hun koffie klaar. Ik heb gevraagd wanneer kunnen we onze koffie verwachten. Ik kreeg ontzettend onbeleefde antwoord, dat we moeten eerder reserveren en dat er is te druk om iedereen een aandacht te geven. We gingen zonder onze koffie weg, en de bedienster bij de deur heeft ook onvriendelijk gezegd dat we haar tijd hebben verspeeld. Zo onaangenaam gevoel. Nog nooit zo onvriendelijk personeel gezien. Schandalig!

Ik had als Amsterdammer nog nooit bij Keyzer gegeten en het moest er een keer van komen. Ook omdat er confit de canard op het menu staat. Een van mijn favoriete Parijse gerechten. En bisque vooraf. Ik kom niet meer terug. Aardige bediening maar er gaat geen goeie aandacht naar het eten. Vlakke smaak. Haastige presentatie. Te hard gebakken spekjes. Middelmaat. Ze komen toch wel mentaliteit. Waiting for a friend and decided to have a drink. When I asked whether I could just sit at the bar, the server just looked at me and sarcastically said that that was what the seats are for. Politeness was not in her vocabulary! Asked for a whisky sours and she said that they did not make them and that I should order something else. Later when I needed to go to the restrooms, I asked where it was located and she sighed and pointed.. terrible service, inflated prices.. Never again!!

I have been coming to Keyzer since my childhood and have many fond memories there. It has now become a completely different company that has largely lost its old luster and that is a shame because Amsterdam has few classic businesses like this. What is especially lacking is interested hosting and that is precisely what is appropriate in a case like this. The food is not bad, but could really be much better with some adjustments. Excellent bread with good dips and delicious shrimp piripiri. Also a great tomato salad and spinach. But the confit de canard is far too dry, the skin should be crispy, the puree is not creamy but grainy (au bain marie?) and the calvado gravy has been reduced too much. The boeuf bourguignon is also too dry. Fine wine list. Acceptable prices.

No había estado en Keyzer durante varios años, y me pareció mucho como lo recordaba: muy buen servicio, buen pero no excepcional nosh, y ambiente agradable. I had a very bad feeling. I thought the atmosphere was high-end, but the service attitude was extremely poor. The meal I ordered was different from the meal that was delivered. I even said "I don't know why you ordered this". After ordering, no other meals were served. I replied that if we want to have a meal again, we have to tell them that there are four of us and we are only going to have a meal for one person. Don’t the others need to eat? In the end, a friend's order never came out. They said, "We didn't order it. It's really an exaggeration!" In the end, it didn't even come out. The five-star price and one-star service quality were extremely poor.

Cozy atmosphere, beautiful decor. The food was luke warm. The Bisque consisted of a large bowl of whipped cream with a cube of lobster stock, and the boeuf bourguignon was just a tasteless gulasch. Great brasserie for a tasty snack and drink. Next to the Concertgebouw, ideal to visit for a performance. Tram in front of the door and possibly also a parking garage. Price/quality is quite sufficient. Next time just make the extra trip to the toilets.

El menú publicado fuera se veía bien, así que entramos. Había asientos afuera, pero hacía demasiado frío para intentarlo. Voorafgaand aan een concert hier gedineerd. We konden in de serre plaatsnemen, een fijne plek. Kleine kaart, maar de tournedos was heerlijk. Bijgerechren apart bestellen. Groenten een ondergeschoven kindje in zo'n luxe restaurant. Dat was niets bijzonders. Beetje sla, croutons en veel saus. Zeer vriendelijke bediening. Dessert was goed, geen uitleg bij de kaasplank. Toiletten, netjes. Kortom prima plek met een paar aandachtspunten.

After the performance in the Concertgebouw, we walked into Brasserie De Keyzer for a drink. What a bad thing! To start with, the service is poor, the waitress couldn't even remember the order and while we were the first to arrive in the conservatory after the concert in the Concertgebouw, we were the last to be served half an hour after the order, with an incorrect and even more expensive sback on top of that. . The prices are disproportionate to the quality. A glass of Rioya costs 10.50 here and 4 shrimp croquettes 20 euros! I don't mind spending €50 for a drink if something special is served. But in this case you will find average quality for a ridiculous price. The place pretends to offer an imperial menu and drinks list, but in reality it is a poorly run ball joint.

We werden niet naar onze tafel begeleid waardoor we dicht bij 'n ander stel kwamen en de man van dat stel vond dat we te dichtbij zaten. Mijn servet lag verkeerd met de zoom naar boven en 't bestek lag ook fout. De ober droeg 'n t-shirt , vind ik niet kunnen. De entrecote was droog en taai, ik heb er twee happen van genomen. Geen excuus of 'n andere entrecote maar wel moeten betalen. De chocoladesaus was niet goed warm en kwam in klonten uit 't kannetje. Restaurant De Keijzer bevind zich in 'n neerwaartse spiraal ! Ga er niet heen !

Absolute RAMP zaak, echt niet doen! je komt om 18.00 uur, ze laten je lang wachten en je merkt al dat de organisatie een puinhoop is. Van de 5 hoofdgerechten is de tong a lom 18.00 uitverkocht! Dan maar twee entrecote , na anderhalf uur ergernis komt de ober even melden dat de entrecote er ook niet is.........!?! En daar zit je dan met een partner die diabeet is, onder heeft, moet eten en je concert begint zometeen ... De ober melde al een andere baan te gaan zoeken en de kok vond hij waardeloos. Gewoon niet gaan eten daar, knudde!

Exceptionally bad thing!! make you wait a very long time, the sole of the 5 main courses turned out to be sold out at 6 p.m.! So you order a sirloin steak, after an hour and a half of waiting the waiter casually says, the sirloin steak is also gone, we still have some chicken! Slechte service. Voorgerecht oesters. Zeer kleine oesters die na lang wachten kwamen. Na nog ruim een uur wachten kregen we de mededeling dat het hoofdgerecht niet meer geserveerd zou worden. Dezelfde mededeling kregen de tafeltjes om ons heen. Aanvankelijk dachte we nog aan een slechte grap, maar de ober kwam met de rekening. Omdat we om 20.00 uur in het concertgebouw moesten konden we ook nergens anders meer eten. Buitengewoon slecht voor een restaurant dat vroeger zo goed bekend stond. Nooit mee bezoeken

Vanouds gaan we vooraf aan een concert naar De Keyzer en dat was altijd een feest. We hadden op tijd afgesproken voor het diner, al om 18.00 uur. Het concert zou om 20.00 uur beginnen dus we hadden geen haast. Maar gaandeweg in het restaurant werden we hoe langer hoe ongeduldiger. We kregen snel een drankje aangeboden, maar daarna was het wachten op de kaart. We bestelden een voorgerecht en een hoofdgerecht. Het voorgerecht werd uit het hoofd opgenomen en we vroegen ons af of dat goed zou gaan. Helaas niet. Ik kreeg een ander gerecht, dat ik echt niet wilde. De anderen aan tafel begonnen aan het voorgerecht en ik moest dus langer wachten. Het gerecht kwam en was heerlijk, pigmentos piedron, heerlijke zachte geroosterde groene pepertjes, maar het venijn zat in de staart: het laatste pepertje bleek ontzettend héét te zijn. Van de bediening kreeg ik snel wat suiker om het brandende probleem op te lossen, maar dat was een vervelende ervaring, onverwacht! Inmiddels was het 19.00 uur geweest, ik had een glas wijn besteld, maar dat kwam niet. Om tien voor half acht vroeg ik of onze bestelling zou kunnen komen en ja, daar kwam het aan. Heel lekker, gebakken dorade en sperzieboontjes. Maar geen wijn. Dat liet ik weten aan de bediening, maar die had het erg druk met andere gasten, er was te weinig personeel. Daarom liep ik zelf naar de bar om de wijn op te halen, inmiddels besloten we een half glas te nemen, omdat we snel weg moesten. Ik drong erop aan om het meteen te krijgen, anders hoefde het niet meer. Dat lukte. Na het afrekenen (geen tip deze keer) bleken we de drie halve glazen wel cadeau te hebben gekregen, een fijne tegemoetkoming. Eten was dus lekker, maar door te weinig personeel (het was helemaal niet druk) moesten we toch te lang wachten en ontstonden er foutjes. Jammer. We waren anders gewend. Hoop dat er snel nieuw personeel wordt gevonden. Succes daarmee!

I visited this restaurant Tuesday evening, May 14, hoping to enjoy a flavorful meal, but unfortunately my experience was far from satisfactory. The Pasta Arrabiata I ordered was downright awful. After just one bite, all I could taste was a taste of nothing. It seemed like the chef forgot to actually season the pasta or maybe even make the sauce. To ease the pain of the tasteless pasta, I ordered the Bread Deluxe, but that turned out to be another disappointment. The bread was so tasteless it felt like I was chewing air. Even a touch of butter would have been a welcome addition, but unfortunately even that was too much to ask. In an attempt to add some flavor to the meal, I ordered the Asparagus Soup. Unfortunately, this dish was also a miss. The soup was too bland and more like water with a hint of asparagus flavor than a flavorful soup. It was a disappointing end to a series of failed dishes. When I expressed my dissatisfaction to the wait staff I was treated with an extremely unprofessional attitude. Instead of taking my complaints seriously, I was offered a lame solution: "Would you like Tabasco with your pasta?" This lack of respect for customer satisfaction and lack of effort to provide a decent solution was nothing short of disappointing. All in all I cannot recommend this restaurant to others. The dishes are bland and the staff doesn't seem interested in providing a positive experience to their customers. There are plenty of other eateries nearby that offer much better options. So better give this restaurant a big miss.

Absolutely appalling service! We arrived with our child and asked where to park the stroller. Initially directed to a corner, another staff member later made a rude comment about ‘normal people.’ This level of disrespect is unacceptable. Not only was the service unfriendly, but the prices were exorbitant for subpar quality. To top it off, when we tried to change our baby, the restroom was ill-prepared with no essentials. Adding insult to injury, another couple without children left abruptly, clearly put off by the disrespectful behavior. Save your money and sanity – avoid this place at all costs. We certainly won’t be returning, and we urge everyone else to steer clear too! as

By far the worst restaurant I have ever been to. Waiting for a menu: 20 minutes. The table is only cleaned upon request, an ashtray full of butts from previous guests is left behind. Asked twice to replace it and then the dirty ashtray is put back. The servants all have faces like earworms and when you ask something you see their faces turn. Food is certainly good, but not much for a lot of money. I forgot to order some potatoes and when I asked for them the kitchen was suddenly closed and I could only get fried fries. And that frying also took 20 minutes. At the end the shift of the earworms was over and a man came who was friendly and knew how to make guests happy. This also applied to a woman who was very friendly, but unfortunately she worked indoors.

We're a family of five and wanted to have coffee. The very friendly waiter told us he was cleaning a table upstairs and that it was no problem. Then the manager came running up, telling him we couldn't occupy a table just for coffee, even though there were three other empty tables and two people downstairs were just making coffee at a table. The poor waiter had a terrible time telling us the manager had told him no, and the cowardly manager didn't have the guts to say it herself. Terrible service.

We were a group of about 15 people who just wanted to enjoy a few drinks after work. We moved a couple of tables together, the waiter saw us and didn’t say a word. Then the manager came over with an attitude and said, “Next time, be polite and ask before you move the tables,” and immediately walked away. This was rude, unnecessary, and unprofessional. Instead of managing the situation with respect, she chose to make it unpleasant for her own customers. If you value good service and a positive atmosphere, I’d recommend going somewhere else.
