The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, the food was delicious, and the service was very friendly. A really lovely place! We will definitely come back here again!

Nice ambience for a drink and quite decent service. But the food was disappointing. I had a burger, hoping it would have been a good choice but I found it quite tasteless and unremarkable.

Nice spacious restaurant, pleasant atmosphere and delicious food! The Caesar salad was disappointing: rock-hard croutons, whole anchovies, large chunks of lettuce; a shame, usually everything here is fine!

For a cafe that presents itself as a premium establishment, I expected a higher standard of hygiene. Unfortunately, I witnessed a bartender handling ice with his bare hands and placing it directly into customers' glasses, without using gloves or tongs. This is a basic hygiene practice that should be followed in any food and beverage venue. Seeing this happen openly in front of customers naturally raises concerns about the hygiene standards maintained behind the scenes.

We had again a good dinner experience, served in a friendly & quick way..as so often we loved the little fried "spiring" fishes & the bread and butter starter..also the steak tartare with fries & salad had been really delicious..see you again soon, Dauphine!🙏😎

Had a lovely, cozy lunch on the terrace. Delightfully bustling with the sounds of the city; if that’s not your thing, fortunately you can also sit very comfortably inside. The grilled ribeye was delicious, and I heard the truffle ravioli had a bit too much oil, but otherwise it was well-seasoned.

Excellent service, superb ambiance and a tasteful selection of wines. In January, I became quite a fan of the lentil soup.

A business-like yet family-friendly atmosphere and conveniently located with private parking... and that in Amsterdam! Tasty and high-quality products!

Nice venue with contemporary decor. Food was amazing, ordered the truffle ravioli which was on point. Service was professional and excellent. I would recommend.

The soup was tasty, however, there was mold on my bread, which is obviously completely unacceptable. The atmosphere of the restaurant itself was cozy, but there was no background music playing. The staff was not very friendly; they often walked past me even though my glass had been empty for a while. You don't expect this kind of thing for a 4-star restaurant.

Last year I wrote the 5-star review below. As of early 2026 changes on the menu warrant a revised rating. The menu has not only lost several "signature dishes", the current portions are absolutely abysmal. Fries in what looks like an espresso cup. A flat iron steak slammed lovelessly onto an equally loveless plate with minimal garnishments. Brasserie-style food? No more. Attentive service? No more. I wrote to Dauphine to express my concerns, but received no response. Zero. So I guess this is the new Dauphine. I recommen to look for another spend your hard-earned money. 2025: Great "brasserie" style menu. Super atmosphere. Wait staff sometimes a bit unattentive, but once at your table super friendly. We've been frequent guests since its inception, and will continue to visit.

The food was delicious. Unfortunately, we had to wait almost 20 minutes because we wanted to pay separately in cash. This wasn't possible at the restaurant, which led to a long discussion. It was a real shame, as the food was otherwise fantastic.

Very pleasant and spacious. You are served by enthusiastic staff. The food is exceptionally well prepared: very tasty! A festive evening out.

We walked in around 12:45 pm for a drink and went to a table that looked nice, with a comfortable sofa. A waitress immediately approached us: "You're not allowed to sit there! No, how dare you! That's for people with a (dining) reservation!" It was because I was with someone else, otherwise I wouldn't have stayed. We sat down at the table that was allowed (oh, thank you!) and had two simple coffees (€4.25 each), followed by a glass of white wine (€6) and another coffee (we left a sandwich, not wanting to stay any longer). But what I found most annoying was the feeling of only being welcome with a wad of cash and a reservation... It's a real shame that the Amsterdam hospitality industry has been ruined by incompetence, rudeness, unnecessary fuss, and exorbitant prices. The democratic element is nowhere to be found.

I'm from Utrecht myself, but it was more than worth the drive to Amsterdam. I had a delicious meal, and the service, in particular, made the evening truly fantastic. Dario and Iwan were incredibly friendly, attentive, and created a pleasant atmosphere at the table. The service was so good that I handed them both €15 cash as a tip—something I almost never do. In short: absolutely recommended, I'll definitely be back!

Average...relative high prices for a really average starter and main

We love Dauphine from day one. This week 20 years ago. We were happy to welcome the menu has been renewed. It comprises many new dishes. All of them loyal to Dauphine’s signature offering traditional food with a touch of creativity and always in good quality. Dauphine’s prices are reasonable. The atmosphere, specially on Friday’s, is lively and cosy at same time. Dauphine is expressing something bigger then you normally find in Holland. It represents the diversity and greatness of the municipality of Amsterdam.

The experience was fantastic overall. The only thing I would have considered acceptable as a guest was a glass of wine or coffee on the house, as the extremely friendly staff dropped a full glass of wine in my lap. Of course, this was an accident, so it happens. In hindsight, I realized I would have accepted it if I hadn't had to pay for that glass.

Another delicious meal. This time I chose the guinea fowl, which is highly recommended.

It was ok, not wow, but nice and nice place, limited menu

It might have been fifteen years since I last visited Dauphine. I was pleasantly surprised by the food, the ambiance, and the staff.

We've been coming to Dauphine for a long time, but yesterday's meal was very disappointing. The guinea fowl was dry, the salad wasn't dressed (no oil or vinegar on the table), and the lettuce had hard chunks of ice. The fries arrived after dinner.

We were unlucky with Ajax playing that evening, so it was completely full at first and then completely empty again. We had to wait a long time for drinks.

We went to Dauphine to eat a ‘plateau de fruit de mer’ but they did not have it even though it’s on their standard menu and it was only 7pm. So if you go to Dauphine for a plateau it’s best to call first to check availability.

We had a nice meal here, and the service was incredibly friendly and attentive, a big plus. The restaurant is in a nice location. From the outside, I thought, "Gosh, it looks so high and uninviting, because it feels like one open space." Sitting inside, it's not so bad, and good company helps. I had the duck rilette as a starter. I didn't think it was anything special; it seemed more like a ready-made rilette from Sligro, not homemade. So that was a minor drawback. The hamburger was delicious.

We had a great meal. But that young man who serves with his hand in his pocket... and besides, when his colleague calls out, "I forgot something, I'll tell you to have an abortion." That's really serious.

35 minutes waiting for our dishes, then another 15 minutes just to be able to pay. We were surprised to see that tap water was charged at €1.35. One star only because the waitress was kind and the salad was acceptable. I will not go back.

The place is stylish and spacious. The food was very good. The staff were friendly. The prices were reasonable.

Ideal place to meet up, parking is well organized. Service is very friendly! I would gladly come back.

Last night, the staff was a bit slow (though very friendly). We had to wait a long time for a bottle of wine; the appetizers had already been served. The whipped cream truffles ordered with dessert were about half the usual size. When paying, it's customary to get a 25% discount on parking. One of the diners actually managed to get this; the others had to pay a total of €18 more. I reported this to Dauphine by phone, but a "sorry" or "coffee is on us next time" would have been nice.

Place is fire. Beautiful restaurant and ambience. Bread is incredible. Oysters nice. Truffle ravioli delicious. Service is great. Cocktails are great. Best high end spot in the area.

Hidden gem. Club that can accommodate about 100 people. Fantastic atmosphere with the live band and various artists.

I thought there was live entertainment due to the information on the website, however the place had none, no music ambience no live entertainment Seems there was bread + butter served at arrival as a started however I never got it And whenever I received my steak it medium rare was already cold Due to my flight I didn’t arrive at the reservation time but advised over the phone to make sure it was worth attending. And whenever I arrived it took them aprox 5 min or longer to realize I was waiting for them at the desk even when I was trying really hard to make eye contact

It was a horrible dinning experience. We arrived at 18:30 and only got our main course served 20:45!! If you run a restaurant with that size, the kitchen should match with the right capacity. And still the food felt rushed even after that long waiting period: soft crab starter was over fried - they were dark brown. The main course salmon was a disaster - the 'zuurkool' was not washed before cooking so it is so sour as if you bite on a lemon. The desert pastel de nata - it was straight out of the fridge. They didn't even bother to microwave it as it was still icy cold in the core. The fries, sorry, even McDonald can do a better job......

Dauphine feels like a big living room, especially because of the excellent staff, many of whom have been working there for years, like the lady who always helped us.

From the outside it doesn't look attractive. Buy once you are insight it is actually quite nice. Good service and lunch food.

Last weekend we went to Club Dauphine with friends and what a fantastic evening we had! From the moment we walked in, there was a warm, relaxed atmosphere. The music was fantastic – live, energetic, and just the right thing to get the evening going. The staff was friendly and prompt, even though it was quite busy. We had a wonderful time drinking, laughing, and dancing. The venue is stylish and easily accessible, making it extra easy to enjoy a carefree evening. Everything was just perfect: a great vibe, friendly service, and fantastic music. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for a fun night out with friends. We'll definitely be back!

We have been here a few times now and are making this place our place to go for our weekend meet ups. We have tried different dishes here and so far they have all been tasty. Love the variety on the menu though am very much looking forward them adding the sweet potato fries on the menu. The service is good in particular the guy server who makes our visit even more pleasant.

The Fruits de Mer were not fresh, especially the langoustines

I was very impressed with the service and the atmosphere here. There was an upscale, yet laid-back vibe that I felt made this a lovely place to come for a date, or with friends for a girls night out. I was particularly a fan of the corn chowder, and the perfect table bread. The decor was cute, modern, and warm. The car parked out front set the stage for the whole night. Great choice, and kudos to the design wizard who chose that car.

Good menu, nice location, but the staff still has a lot to learn. Guidance from the manager was necessary, even though the manager himself wasn't exactly a service-minded person. And then there's the slouching during job interviews. I'll go somewhere else next time. 😒

Not so strong this time. Well-meaning staff, as always. But, if you put ceviche on the menu, you have to be able to prepare it. This mackerel was not sour enough, there was no (rest of the) leche de tigre visible and there was no coriander to be seen, but there was rocket... not for nothing we sent both plates back to the kitchen. There was no further reaction to that, except for the obligatory excuses from the staff. Then: if you offer (expensive) king crab, it is nice if the staff knows which utensils go with it and where they are! For a dinner of €200+ not so strong!

We always meet here before Ajax's European matches. Good, solid food and a great atmosphere. It's a shame there are fewer and fewer vegetarian options (the veggie burger has been discontinued as well). Oh, and the Dame Blanche is three scoops of ice cream with a bit of chocolate.

Food quality is lower than mediocre and portions are small. Standard Dutch service quality, which is lower than the world. The place can be considered nice enough for a celebration or corporate dinner. Briefly, there are other options out there, just skip it.

5 stars for food, service, and atmosphere. Simply excellent, fast, cozy, and relaxed. The wine list is also excellent! We also went to Club Dauphine that same week, and that was also fantastic, highly recommended.

Dauphine succeeds in creating a pleasant, homey atmosphere in its large, warmly decorated space. Delicious food, a great selection, and friendly staff. Sometimes it takes a while for the staff to notice guests' requests, but overall, it's a pleasant experience.

After not being there for a while, we were a bit disappointed this time. When asked how many scallops were in the appetizer, the answer was three, but it turned out to be only two (and small ones). We asked three times for extra butter, but that request was ignored. The egg with mayo appetizer was only two half eggs this time instead of the usual three, so €6.95 for a hard-boiled egg is quite expensive. We didn't get the wine we'd asked for; it turned out to be €7.00 more expensive. A waiter said one of our guests would get a salad with his dish, but it didn't arrive. When we asked the young lady, she did bring the salad, which then cost almost €5.00 on the bill. It turned out that only one parking ticket had been stamped, so we had to go all the way back outside/in to have the second ticket stamped. All in all, after years of satisfaction, we left the restaurant disappointed and not very happy, and we don't think we'll be visiting Dauphine again in the near future. A delicious weekend dinner and subsequent performance by Royal Dutch Scam made for a memorable evening.

We waited an hour between starters and desserts, but it was more than worth it. The atmosphere is pleasant, as is the service. Dauphine has been one of my favorite restaurants for years.

A bit of a bygone era. Boring map and a moderately engaged team. It used to be better.

Although large, it's still a cozy restaurant. Ideally located for events at the Amsterdam Arena, Afas Live, or the Ziggo Dome. Excellent service. A nice menu and a good glass of wine.

The portions were on the small side

Delicious food and generally excellent service. We were a group of 20. The 11 male staff members were curt and snappy with everyone. A guy in his late 20s with dark hair. I hope he changes his mind soon, and then I'll add a star to the review.

If you call yourself a cafe and serve breakfast, do not take 25 minutes to serve a croissant and a bowl of yoghurt when the place is empty (we were the only 2 customers). Also, kitchen can start serving eggs after 10:00. How do you call that a breakfast?

A discent place after work . There is noise and it s difficult to discuss. Nice music. The food taste good.

Great restaurant, but what I find particularly disappointing is that Dauphine has changed the interior. I miss the red benches... The experience has changed since the makeover.

Easily accessible from Amstel Station. Friendly service, albeit young and a bit inexperienced. This becomes apparent when you ask about the menu or how it's served. But they're super friendly, and the food is truly amazing and of good quality. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely evening at Dauphine. The staff were kind and friendly. We came with our 10 months old baby and were happy with the service from a waiter who offered us a baby high chair and a toy car. More than appreciated! Our food was great, drinks were nice. the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere.

The food was good and the service as well. The only two remarks I would like to leave is that it took quite some time to get our food. Fortunately, we were not in a hurry. The second remark is that EUR 30 for a karaf (75 cc) of house wine is too much.

Dauphine delivers what it promises. Both the service and the kitchen run smoothly. It's easily accessible by public transport (Amstel Station is just around the corner) and by car (there's always a spot in the garage). You can practically come here for any occasion. - Business: professional appearance, easy to reach - Friends: spacious space, relaxed atmosphere, and an extensive menu I've been coming here since it opened in 2004.

Simply always delicious dishes and excellent service!
