Brasserie & Lounge in Museumkwartier

I am reading a lot of reviews about bad service. We go here every now and then for lunch (no reservation). We sit down in the Lounge area and enjoy a prosecco with free nuts :) Then we are invited to our table and have a beautiful lunch served by nice people in a great environment. Yes it is expensive but you are not in Mc Donalds :)

I’ve been here for drinks twice with several months in between. Nice ambience and terrace but the service is terrible. If you want to be a proper luxury hotel then you need to offer the service and experience that matches that. This lounge doesn’t. Save your money and have a drink elsewhere in the area.

You can better avoid this place. Service is below any expectation. Staff is not familiar with the menu, they are rude and not helpful. From a 5* hotel I would expect superior service and food quality. When we asked for help from the manager, his response was not in customer friendly manner. Once again, not what you can reasonably expect in this price category.

This bar is a tourist trap. 17 euros for a mediocre glass of house white wine? You're kidding me. And then they serve you with a grumpy look on their face. As an Amsterdammer, I'm used to a lot, but this scam takes the cake.

Tourist trap! Seated in what can best be described as an overpriced waiting room , I dared to order a glass chardonnay. A modest choice, one might think. But lo and behold, when the bill arrived, I discovered that I had apparently indulged in the Grand Cru of daylight robbery. Seventeen euros!! 17!! For a glass of what could have been bottled with distinct notes of mediocrity and a lingering finish of regret. The service? A fascinating social experiment in disengagement. The waitress—who, despite working in the Netherlands, had seemingly taken a personal vow never to acknowledge the existence of Dutch —mumbled in a barely decipherable form of English. She delivered my overpriced wine with the enthusiasm of a cat being forced into a bathtub, making it abundantly clear that my presence was, at best, a mild inconvenience. Even as an Amsterdammer, a species well-adapted to the city’s creative approach to pricing, I left feeling truly swindled. A place best avoided—unless, of course, you enjoy paying premium prices for mediocrity served with a side of disdain.

A friend and I wanted to have a quiet drink in the lounge. And it was such a struggle to get help. The waitress in charge of the lounge stalked around with an angry look. When she took our order, she also seemed quite irritated. Such a waste of such a beautiful location.

We ventured in today to grab a drink and a snack mid shopping and the waiter was not only unapproachable but also rude. We stood waiting to be seated (not a problem) when we got the waiters attention and asked if there was available seating rudely hunched his shoulders and said we had to look - gesturing over to a section. I am sure they are busy however this is not an appropriate way to address guests. Instead we went to Keyzer and had a lovely time. My suggestion is skip the restaurant and head to one that wants your business.

We had an amazing three course meal at the brasserie. The avocado salad stood out and the service was attentive.

They just launched a new menu and it was great, loved the crudo as well the whole seabass

Had a lovely dinner in Brasserie. Great wine and the food was great (would definitely recommend the fish in lemon butter). A nice ambiance. A luxury environment, but still very relaxing atmosphere.

We had chosen the Brasserie in the Conservatory for our periodic dinner with colleagues from the department. What a fantastic location. No hectic hassle, but a relaxed atmosphere in the glass atrium. The varied selection on the clear menu makes choosing easy. Meat, vegetarian or fish. Something for everyone.

This morning had the pleasure of breakfastat the Conservatorium Brasserie with my family, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. We decided to fuel up before our visit to the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum, both conveniently within walking distance, making it the perfect start to our day. Upon entering the Conservatorium, I was immediately taken aback by the juxtaposition of its classic exterior with the stunning modern glass atrium at the back. The architecture is a harmonious blend of tradition and contemporary design, setting the stage for an exceptional experience. The highlight of our morning was undoubtedly the breakfast buffet. The variety of bread and pastries on offer was nothing short of astonishing. From flaky croissants to artisanal bread, there was something to please every palate. The quality of the pastries was exceptional, and it was evident that the culinary team takes great pride in their offerings. To accompany our breakfast, I ordered a cappuccino and an espresso. While I regrettably forgot the name of the brand they were using, I had the opportunity to chat with the Head Barista, who was both knowledgeable and passionate about his craft. He informed me that they had recently introduced a new selection of coffee beans, and I must say, it was a wise choice. Both the cappuccino and espresso were impeccably brewed, showcasing the rich flavors of the beans. I would like to extend my appreciation to the Head Barista for his dedication to serving top-notch coffee. My advice to the Conservatorium Brasserie would be simple: please don't change a thing. Your breakfast was not only delicious but also a delightful part of our Amsterdam adventure. I highly recommend the Conservatorium Brasserie to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience, whether you're staying at the hotel or simply passing through Amsterdam. It's a true gem in the heart of this beautiful city.

The Lounge at Conservatorium is a hidden gem in the city with breathtaking architecture. I initially went in to admire the design but ended up staying for two glasses of champagne, with my friend.The atmosphere is fantastic, and despite the grandeur of the building, the waitress was friendly, chatty, and gave helpful suggestions on how to spend the afternoon . It felt like I was a hotel guest, even though my bank account might not always allow it. Definitely a must-visit place!

Amazing atmosphere and location! Service was seamless, the hostess made sure everything went well during the dinner and the waitress was regularly checking whether we are enjoying ourselves. Food was delicious as well!

The location and ambience is amazing. Staff and chef were super attentive and helpful. Food was amazing. Chef prepared special vegetarian brunch for us.

A great place to stop for a drink and snacks after visiting the nearby museums. The hotel is really beautiful and we loved sitting on one the comfortable couches. Service was excellent and friendly.

In my opinion, foods taste good for a hotel “restaurant”. Interesting menus. Good quality items. Surprisingly generous amount for the price. Pricey indeed, as it’s also pricey hotel. Lovely ambiance. Service could’ve been better.

The starters were good, sliced entrecote and mushroom soup. We ordered the burger and a rib-eye for main course, both medium. When they arrived well done (all grey inside, not even a pink hue(l), we told that to the weiter who claimed it's medium, took it to the kitchen and brought a new well done steak. Made the mistake of choosing this brasserie for late lunch post Vermeer exhibition last Saturday. Terrible in every way, especially given their astronomic prices. Started with a caprese salad which was not bad, but then my side of mashed potatoes was watery and cold in the middle, resembled more a soup recipe gone wrong rather than a side of mash.

I went to the Brasserie for a breakfast with clients. The service was perfect, really efficient, friendly and professional. The food was very good, with perfect presentation and nice choices. The place is also very nice, with a mix of a classic building with modern touch. They accept credit cards, including American Express. I recommend this place.

The lounge is at the lobby of the hotel, and the interior of this hotel is definitely something else. Loved the decor in the brasserie & lounge area, especially the greenery surrounding the place, and the skylight. The food and service were great, would definitely recommend visiting it and trying out their breakfast.

I’ve been there 4 times and the food is fantastic. I don’t understand the bad reviews. It is more expensive than other restaurants but the quality is good, service is good, it is never too crowded and noisy. It is always my little place to go.

Found this restaurant by accident walking around the city. Located in a nice hotel with a great vibe. Nice food and service.

It is very elegant restaurant, the service is very fast, dont skip the lemon curd. Michele was very helpful to choose the right dishes

Terrible service, Overpriced, Extremely Simple food! After my 3rd experience at the Conservatorium Brasserie I know it's not worth returning to again. After all 3 visits I have experienced terrible service (you must to wave down waiters every time they are needed: from getting a menu, to a glass of wine with your food, to asking for the bill. There are always enough staff lingering around, they simply aren't trained for a proper customer experience. The menu is simple, and the food is extremely expensive yet extremely basic with zero wow factor. You will leave hungry, disappointed, and with a lot less cash in your pocket. Amsterdam has some truly amazing restaurants, your money and time and better spent elsewhere.

Went for lunch and had great service, good timing, food was delicious and home made ice tea hit the spot. Beautiful location, high quality standard with gorgeous design but with a relaxed attitude. Looking forward to return and check out their accommodation too!
