Brasserie Peil 5 in Wijk 05

We dined at Peil5 on Monday, July 28th. First of all, there was a very pleasant atmosphere, though it was quite busy. The lunch dishes we chose were delicious. It was a shame not all the dishes were available (though with the explanation, it was understandable). The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely eat there again!

Lunch with my girlfriend. Lovely outside on the terrace. The food all looked delicious and tasted wonderful. We were there on a weekday (Wednesday) and had made a reservation, but it was incredibly busy.

A cozy spot for a casual meal or drink, with a lovely terrace. The food was delicious, with lots of surprising options on the menu. Lots of families with children and dogs, so it was a bit crowded.

Good food, but not a pleasant atmosphere. We made a reservation inside (no terrace seating), but there were no reservations. "Just figure something out," was the answer. But with four people, it's difficult to sit at a table with three chairs. When I added a chair and it made a bit of noise, the older employee (boss) became unfriendly, and we felt that the whole time. He was very annoying and domineering. The food was good, but the atmosphere was ruined. This place is doing well, and the owner's success is going to his head. He's becoming indifferent. It's a shame... How a gem loses its shine! I see more complaints about this gentleman in the reviews, by the way.

We come here regularly and it's always a pleasure! The food is delicious, carefully prepared, and always fresh. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, both inside and outside on the terrace by the pond. Friendliness leaves much to be desired. Plates are taken from the table while people are still eating. Wrong order received. In response (what should it be then? :-( staff starts discussing whether an order was ordered or not. very unprofessional. Too bad. I had the feeling of eating quickly and getting out.

It remains a pleasure to stay at Peil 5. Lunch or dinner super well taken care of. Beautiful location. What is the biggest plus: no matter how busy it is, the catering couple and all employees remain relaxed. Heavenly Ribster sandwich! Wow... this sandwich was a real taste sensation from start to finish! 🤤 The perfectly cooked sparerib meat is so tender and perfectly seasoned. The combination with fresh red onion, crunchy vegetables and just the right amount of creamy aioli was completely in balance. Served on a crispy, slightly floury bun that completes the whole thing. That together with the extremely friendly staff, even on a very busy afternoon, it was a super taste experience. 🥰

Been there for lunch a few times. Nice place inside but also with a nice terrace and view outside. Reservations recommended for inside, it is always busy. And that is not without reason. Extensive menu with enough choice. And the lunch is delicious every time! Will definitely come back!

We had the fish platter twice and the rib burger once. We found both very tasty. The fries were great. Unfortunately, they didn't have any tuna in stock, but they asked us beforehand if we would mind having salmon instead. I think that's great, because at least I know that everything is freshly cooked and they don't always have everything in stock. The wait was quite long, but understandable given the rush of visitors. The food was warm. The building is very noisy, sociable, but a bit too loud for my taste, which isn't the owner's fault. All in all, a successful day. This restaurant is located by a fish pond, and if you sit outside, you have a beautiful view of it.

Went here with 7 people, just spontaneously and unknown to us. Very pleasantly surprised, very correct and friendly staff, atmosphere is very good and food delicious. Tasty and creative with the spareribs. Just nice and relaxed as it should be but unfortunately not everywhere anymore. Compliments to all.

Always cheerful no matter who is there. Good quality at a good price. Reservations are required, but if we arrive sporadically there is always room.

Only used the toilet (women). Neat toilet, toilet brush in sturdy holder. Trash bin was available for hygiene products and bags to put them in first were available. There was no cleaning cloth or soap to clean the toilet seat. The toilet cubicle was neatly finished without any cracks. There was good lighting in the booth. No menstrual products available. There was enough room to turn around with a large backpack. There was a hook for your coat and behind the toilet there was a wall to put your phone or bag. General area was a bit narrower. The faucet was a bit fiddly. The handle was smooth and had no attachments to make it easy to open and close. There was a small hand dryer that blew strongly.

Debit card payments under 10 euros were charged an extra 20 cents. So paid in cash. Turns out it's even prohibited by law!

On recommendation, we had lunch at Peil5 for the first time months ago. It is now our favorite place. The price/quality ratio is very good. The ambiance is good and you immediately feel at home. The staff is friendly and clearly masters the catering trade. In short, highly recommended.

We had a delicious meal here last time, but this time it was a big disappointment. Soup was fine, but then…. Pork tenderloin satay was served on a dessert plate with three small pieces of pork tenderloin, a little satay sauce, onions and spring onions. Getting the fries on the side was a challenge. Spare ribs were dry and lacking in flavor. Crispy chicken was not crispy, three course menu with round steak was okay. Plates without any decoration with vegetables or salad. We mentioned this to the waiter, she thought it was a shame but was happy that we told her honestly. She indicated that they removed the salad because most people did not eat it. You could order separately. However, nothing has been deducted from the price without salad. The girl from the service couldn't do anything about this, she was correct and friendly. Other service does not have an enthusiastic appearance. In short, after a good experience last time, this time it was a big disappointment! Very unfortunate! Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures otherwise they would speak for themselves... In short: After this experience, we will not do it again, at most for a cup of coffee.

A typical Dutch horica. High prices, mediocre quality and minimal service. We had reserved a table for a person in a wheelchair, and the wait staff was absolutely uninterested in that. My ordered cold salad was placed under the heat lamps and therefore almost unenjoyable. We have been here twice, the first time and the last time,

Another nice brunch with friends. Food looked nice. It's just a shame, I had also eaten the club sandwich here before. Apparently they had adjusted this, it was now constructed like a chicken burger and topped with cheese. This was disappointing for me personally. If I had known this, I would have ordered something else. I asked the staff and they told me that this had recently been adjusted. Not on the lunch menu. I will definitely go back again, but no more club sandwich for me.

Reserved upon arrival There was no table available. We had to wait a long time before we were assigned a table. The food was good and was on the table fairly quickly.

Delicious food, glasses of iced coffee for 5.50 half filled and had to wait 45 minutes for lunch. It was very busy, and the terrace was too small, even though they have enough space for this. When I explained why they only filled the glasses half full, I received the answer that this is normal nowadays 🤷🏻‍♂️ for a lunch for 2 people €40,- a bit too much. Unfortunately not again for us

Unusual but very tasteful retro ambience, courteous service, and special requests were no problem at all. Very helpful staff! The food was very good! However, you should note that there are only snacks/small things at lunchtime.

When the weather is nice I like to sit here with my four-legged friend, I have a coffee and he has a fresh bowl of water. Everything neatly taken care of.

We went to Peil5 for dinner today. First of all, there was a very nice atmosphere and not too busy. The lunch dishes we chose were super tasty, but also unique. Enjoyed it immensely. We paid €35.70 for 3 drinks, 2 lunch dishes and 1 sweet potato fries. I think this is an excellent price.

Good food, nice location, but very slow service every time

Redekijk, lang moeten wachten op de diners, waren wel met een groep van 12 personen, daarom beperkte keuze in menu, prima maar dan moet je geen uur wachten op je voorgerecht en daarna een uur wachten op het hoofdmenu. Porties waren goed maar van sla hebben ze er nog nooit van gehoord vlees vis prima porties garnering een aanfluiting. En voor het eten redelijk aan de prijzige kant, helaas enmaal.

Ended up here to try a ribster sandwich. Very cozy brasserie where we were immediately given a friendly welcome. The ribster sandwich was also fine, nothing to complain about. Next time we're in the area, we'll definitely stop by again. Perhaps also for dinner.

Hier te terecht gekomen om het broodje ribster te proberen. Erg gezellige brasserie met vriendelijke bediening. Het broodjes ribster was ook prima te doen. Als we weer eens in de buurt zijn komen we zeker weer terug.

The food was tasty but not very special, but what irritated us more is the older man with glasses who walks around, not customer friendly, sighing and grunting, he can do that and when you have finished your food you are asked to leave while other people are allowed to stay seated, this is downright antisocial considering you have spent almost 100 euros on food and drinks

De plek zat stampvol. Voor lunch. Op een maandag! Dat is een hint dat een restaurant een goede reputatie heeft. Maar dat hoeft het niet per se tot een goed restaurant te maken. In dit geval is dat gelukkig wel zo. Peil 5 heeft zijn zaken prima op orde en levert goede lunches af binnen relatief beperkte tijd. Vriendelijke bediening, redelijk goed eten in forse porties.

We were here last Saturday and it is certainly not recommended. We had reserved a table with small children and were seated near the door. This was open and we were cold in the draft. Because of the kids I had to ask 3 times if it could be closed, until the very grumpy, somewhat older male clerk said in frustration that I could close it. First he had young servants say that this was not possible. He also walked through the shop all the time, sighing and grunting. Then they forgot our daughter's fries, which they only brought when we had almost finished everything, and no form of compensation of course. We will not return here and if you want a pleasant afternoon and customer-friendly service, I would definitely skip this! They really gave you the feeling that it was especially annoying that the business was going well.

Food was tasty. However, you can sit on the terrace with your wife. After already ordering 70 euros worth of drinks and food. You are sent away because it is busy. While we were actually just discussing ordering another drink with some food. Fine, then I'll spend my money somewhere that knows what hospitality is.

Always delicious food! It's just a bit of a shame that when asking for Coca Cola, the waitress says that they no longer serve that, while the table next to me gets a Coca Cola half an hour later..

Had a lovely lunch on a cozy terrace next to a pond. The atmosphere is really cozy. Staff are friendly and helpful. The price is certainly not expensive compared to the food. We will definitely come here more often.

We arrived at Peil5 this morning around 11:00 for a bite to eat. The food is absolutely delicious and highly recommended. But 3 people in the service who are anything but friendly ruin the positive experience. Rudely shouting across the terrace to customers who want to be helped, explaining that the drink that was ordered before we received our food had still not arrived when the food was already gone, saying; 'yeah, you're not the only table here' and walk away. A big disappointment as far as I'm concerned, even when it's busy you don't treat customers like that.

Heerlijk gegeten op een gezellige locatie aan een vijver. Het is gezellig en sfeervol ingericht. Het personeel is vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het eten is heerlijk en staat zeker gelijk aan datgene wat je krijgt. Wij hebben hier nu alleen geluncht, maar gaan hier nog wel vaker terugkomen. Ook voor het avondeten.

Heerlijk eten maar afschuwelijke bediening vooral die man, bleek eigenaar te zijn. Voor je de koffie op hebt, pakken ze de kopjes voor je Neus weg . Het lijkt alsof hij de drukte niet aan kan of te hoog in zijn bol; nooit meer dat ik daar kom.

Great service and food. The picanha steak was temporarily out of stock and changed with bavette with a pepper sauce, and it was delicious but could have done with slightly more sauce or a little little extra salt. My fiancé had the fish of the day which was seabass which she also thoroughly enjoyed. The sweet potato fries are also worth it. Although they have quite a few tasty looking tarts on display by the front, two scoops of ice cream was the winner for me for dessert. We had a great time and almost all the staff were quite cheerful and talkative to guests.

Ate bavet with my son. My son's was absolutely inedible. I ate some of it out of decency. I then also ate a few pieces of his dish, but indeed I couldn't eat it. After I had expressed my discomfort to the friendly employee, after speaking to the chef, she apologized and that they had already heard this for the second time. We just had to pay everything because we should have reported the problem immediately. I find this completely scandalous! That's not how you treat your customers, is it? Vanavond weer heerlijk gegeten bij Pijl5! We komen er geregeld of voor de lunch of avondeten en het is iedere keer weer erg lekker! Alles wat op tafel komt is goed van kwaliteit en heel erg vers! En het personeel is uiterst vriendelijk uit zich zelf! Je merkt meteen dat ze daar met passie werken en dat stralen ze ook uit. Wij komen natuurlijk zeker weer terug en probeer het zelf ook eens uit!

Had lunch this afternoon with 4 people at Peil 5 in Schinnen. What a surprise it was. I didn't expect such a restaurant in Schinnen. A very nicely decorated restaurant with a very relaxed atmosphere, very friendly staff and a very nice lunch and dinner menu. On a normal Tuesday afternoon it was very busy. We had a very nice lunch. Two salads with steak respectively. goat cheese, bread with smoked salmon and takati tuna steak. Everything was equally delicious and we were also served very nicely. The logistics process is very well organized. The kitchen and service function as one whole. Really nice to see. In summary: nice and good restaurant, good service, relaxed setting, delicious food. Highly recommended!!!!

Vanmiddag geluncht met 4 personen bij Peil 5 in Schinnen. Wat een verrassing was het. Ik had zo'n restaurant niet verwacht in Schinnen. Een heel leuk ingericht restaurant met een heel relaxte sfeer , heel vriendelijk personeel en een hele leuke lunch en dinerkaart. Op en normale dinsdagmiddag was het heel druk. We hebben heel lekker geluncht. Twee salades met biefstuk resp. geitenkaas, brood met gerookte zalm en takati tonijn steak. Allemaal even lekker en we werden ook nog eens heel leuk bediend. Het logistieke proces zit super goed in elkaar. De keuken en de bediening functioneren als één geheel. Echt leuk om te zien. Samengevat: leuk en goed restaurant, goede bediening, relaxte setting, heerlijk eten. Een echte aanbeveler!!!!

We had a nice lunch, but unfortunately after AN HOUR an employee came to our table and asked us to pay immediately so that other guests could sit at a table. We had made a reservation for 2 hours. Money money money...

Once again we had a delicious ribster sandwich, highly recommended! Goulash soup was also really delicious and well filled. We were served today by a man who was so funny with his jokes 😬 Had a sandwich for lunch but was full for the rest of the day ha-ha

Some of the best food I've ever had. And I travel for food. Everything was absolutely delicious. French onion soup was incredible. Eggs Royale was one of the best dishes I've had. Highly recommend! I'll be back very soon.

What a fantastic experience. The interior and atmosphere are phenomenal. The welcome was very warm and hospitable. The card variations are excellent. Our eye fell on the sandwich with sparerib meat. And I can really say highly recommended, what a delicious taste experience and more than enough. It's that we come from far away, otherwise I would have made a reservation here every week for a delicious lunch.

The first few times we ate here well, but today we left very disappointed. I had a tomato soup and a burrata sandwich, it all started with the soup being served cold. Said something about this, and later received a hot soup. Burrata sandwich was the next thing that unfortunately had to go back to the kitchen, bread was tough and hard as if it was from yesterday. The filling from the previous bun was visibly placed on a new bun and not re-seasoned, making the bun tasteless. When clearing away, something was said about this, but more than an "oh okay" from the owner. He ran away and never came back to speak to us Later at checkout, someone else was sent to our table, and no further apology or compensation resulted. Even after emphasizing it again, only received a "how annoying".

De eerste paar keren hier goed gegeten, maar vandaag zeer teleurgesteld weggegaan. Mijn vriend zijn vaste uiensoep besteld, deze was zoals gewoonlijk top. Ik een tomatensoep en broodje burrata, het begon er al mee dat de soep koud werd geserveerd. Hier wat van gezegd, en netjes later een warme soep gekregen. Broodje burrata was het volgende wat helaas weer terug moest naar de keuken, brood was taai en hard alsof het van gister was. De vulling van het vorige broodje was zichtbaar op een nieuw broodje gelegd en niet opnieuw op smaak gemaakt waardoor het broodje smaakloos was. Bij afruimen werd hier wat van gezegd, echter meer dan een "oh oke" van de eigenaar. Hij is weggelopen en ook niet meer terug gekomen om ons te woord te staan Later bij het afrekenen werd iemand anders naar onze tafel gestuurd, en is er verder geen pardon of compensatie uit voort gekomen. Zelfs na het nog een keer te hebben benadrukt alleen een "wat vervelend" ontvangen.

heerlijke lunchspot, maar vooral sfeervolle plek. Er werkt een leuk team, met hart voor de zaak. Ook erg lekker avondeten. Mooie locatie en de zaak was erg schoon. Echt een pareltje voor schinnen.
