Brasserie Rodestein in Wijk 00 Doorn

My favorite restaurant in Doorn for relaxing and enjoying yourself. Perfect service meets first-class cuisine and quality. The excellent Zwergen beer completes the experience. Highly recommended. 5 stars

Delicious fish dishes, the best we had in the Netherlands. The personnel was very friendly and helpful in explaining the menu. Will definitely come back.

Delicious food, but a shabby interior: plastic flowers, yellowed ceiling, cheap chairs/sofas, dated bathroom fixtures. The building has a lot of potential, but it needs an interior designer.

What a disgrace. Extremely poor value for money, especially the food. Once, but never again. The restrooms are simply outdated; it's high time to invest!

Great location and friendly service

Had a fantastic lunch: Waldkorn with salmon, Tripeltje, Korenwijn (corn wine), followed by a truffle risotto with pheasant and a ripasso. All very delicious. Update: Been here several times now. Everything is delicious. Just had the Rodestein Satay. Indonesian-style prepared on a bed of rice. You can taste the lemongrass. Deliciously different! Just ordered surf & turf. Delicious stir-fried tenderloin and prawns with cashews and a rich salad. Too bad it's gone. Never been disappointed here. Just had a combo salad with eel and salmon. Delicious! Great weather. Just had beautiful pike-perch with potato gratin and cooked vegetables including beetroot. Super fresh. What a treat.

Rustplek voor onze fietstocht! Na een goede ervaring in april, nu voor een lunchstop in Doorn! Heerlijke salades (geitenkaas en vistrio). Goed gevuld en lekkere dressing. Bediening prima, vlot en servicegericht.

The food was mediocre, and Albert Heijn delivered to the terrace. So, that's what you get there, supermarket junk. Plus, sparkling water from a large bottle. And the staff looks like they're doing community service. The prices are ridiculous for the garbage you get. Not recommended.

The tastiest satay in Doorn and the surrounding area. Very friendly staff and a lovely terrace.

Lovely place in a beautiful location. We are often there in the weekend. And the staff (especially the blonde lady who always seems to be there) is nice, spontaneous and friendly. A real recommendation if you want to enjoy yourself after a visit to the Doorn house or the beautiful forests. A drink or lunch at Rodenstein makes it a wonderful day out!

Delicious tatsuta, Japanese bittergarnituur as a starter, a tongue-tingling sesame sauce with it, almost eat your fingers off. Hard workers in the service & in the hot kitchen, who neatly indicate that they have a break between 16:30-17:00. Before that time, a friendly lady comes to ask if we want to eat something. The entire menu exudes class, but a Rodestein burger is also very tasty. Delicious coffee, especially the "Rodestein" coffee with velvety, lumpy cream. Highly recommended!!! We will DEFINITELY come back!

We thought we would have a “nice” cup of coffee with a piece of apple pie on Sunday afternoon. My partner had ordered an iced coffee, which is not normally on the menu, but the waiter could make one. Unfortunately, the cobbled together iced coffee tasted anything but good. My partner made this known and returned the unappetizing iced coffee to the waiter and ordered a cappuccino instead. It was okay, but we were not at all enthusiastic about the piece of apple pie with a strange aftertaste and the watery dollop of whipped cream next to it. When paying at the cash register, I mentioned again that the iced coffee did not taste good and had been returned. The lady there did not even look at me, was distant and did not respond. If you have a feeling for the business you run, you could at least have given a polite response and offered some compensation as a form of service. The ambiance is nice, but what we have consumed is (except for the cappuccinos) below par and the atmosphere distant. We will definitely not go there again.

Great delicious food, a real pleasure to sink your teeth into. We were helped by a fantastically friendly waitress, we lacked nothing. The atmosphere still needs some work. It doesn't really radiate anything cozy inside, even though it is such a beautiful location. More can be achieved from this, but of course this also depends on taste! Perhaps this was also due to the lack of music. It's difficult if you feel like everyone can follow your conversation. I think that nice background music does a lot of good. The entrance takes some searching, very funny to have the idea that you are driving into someone's garden. Definitely worth eating once or more often.

Had a great lunch. 12 o'clock, healthy sandwich and bread with mushrooms. Tasted great and, by today's standards, not overpriced. Definitely recommended. Then to Huis Doorn

Even (snel) wat eten..... Tegenover Museum Huis Doorn is deze lokatie gelegen aan een relatief drukke doorgaansweg. Het stoorde ons overig niet. Kaart is ruim voldoende en afwisselend. Vlotte en servicegerichte bediening. Wij kozen voor asperges met zalm en de sate van kippedijen en petjelsaus! Heerlijk!!! Aanrader

Brasserie opposite Huis Doorn (historical). Parking next to the brasserie. During lunch you can also order dishes from the evening menu, only lobster is on request. In addition to the menu, there are also dishes outside the menu. During nice weather there are also a number of tables outside.

A place to which I return again and again to dine tastefully and in style in a lovingly preserved ambience. The service is very courteous and always friendly. The “catch of the day” is particularly recommended. You can enjoy the peace and quiet, whether outside or inside.

It is a restaurant for older people but the food was very tasty! And the staff was very friendly, I celebrated Christmas Day here with 3 people, service was very neat and friendly, food was delicious. Recommended!!

Ongelooflijk lekker gegeten! Wildbitterballen in de proeverij als voorgerecht….zaaalig!! Bospaddestoelensoep verrukkelijk, eendeborst… dit restaurant snapt het! Fantastische kok! Aanrader!

Enjoyable evening meal. Dishes themselves were fine. Not very special, but price-quality was fine. Nice meal. Friendly service. A bit bare/cold room.

We had a loin of venison with a delicious sauce. Venison was tender. Red cabbage was deliciously marinated, vegetables were crispy, fries were good. Nice wine with it. Delicious dish. For dessert a tiramisu, also recommended.

We came across Brasserie Rodestein three quarters of the way through our bike ride. It was a pleasant meeting. Lots of choice on the menu, perhaps a bit too much. We both opted for soup with homemade bread. Soup was good (mustard and tomato soup), but the bowl it was served in reminded me of times long past. A matter of taste, shall we say. Price quality good. €17.5 p.p. with 1.5 drinks p.p.

Nice ambiance, but the interior could use some love, but I do know how to make beautiful paintings :-) Upon entering I immediately saw an old fellow villager hanging on the wall! Food was super tasty!

Mooi plekje, zeer vriendelijke, leuke bediening. Uitstraling zoals je van een brasserie mag verwachten Eten was zeker goed! Vooral het vlees en de vis perfect bereid. Alleen de frietjes waren veel te zout maar dat werd snel en vriendelijk opgelost. Prijzen gemiddeld.

The coffee and cake were awakening, as was the tomato soup that awakened the tired spirits. The adjacent street is quite noisy, but you can sit quite well on the terrace. The nostalgic toilets are interesting.

Always a success to go there. Service is great! The food is delicious! And the atmosphere is great! (I had indeed submitted a bad review that was intended for another restaurant. Sorry ;-( )

Wij wonen in het buitenland en elke keer dat we in Nederland komen bespeuren we hier en daar een teruggang in flexibiliteit en service. Bij het bestellen van een catch of the day gerecht asperges met op de huid gebakken dorade filet bleek het niet eens mogelijk te zijn om de gekookte aardappelen te laten vervangen door frites. Het was wel mogelijk maar dat moest je dan wel apart bestellen. Hoe zo klantgericht. Wij hebben dit de afgelopen 7 dagen bij 2 restaurants gevraagd en daar was het geen probleem. Ik vind deze tendens in de horeca jammer vooral omdat wij een paar uur daarvoor bij de Oranjerie van Huize Doorn ook al een mindere ervaring hadden gehad. Nederland heeft een veel te dure horeca en daar mag best een klant- en service gerichte flexibele houding tegenover staan.....

I had the best hamburger ever here. What a culinary tour de force. My guests were also very pleased with the ambiance and the delicious food.

Wij hebben hier vanavond een heerlijk diner genuttigd, wild. Vriendelijke bediening. De inrichting mag wel iets gezelliger. Dit houd ons tegen om hier met vrienden te gaan eten. Ik zou hier graag eens gaan schuiven om het iets gezelliger te maken. Zeker de moeite waard.

Heerlijk mosselen gegeten. Als je deze wilt eten wel van tevoren bestellen. De bediening was vriendelijk en professioneel. Een fijne plek voor elke gelegenheid.

Super plek, vlakbij Huis Doorn de plek om naar toe te gaan. Heerlijke lunch, prima Chardonnay. Niet goedkoop maar wel waard.

Weer heerlijk genoten van ons diner. Prima kwaliteit vlees en goede hoeveelheid eten. De eigen gemaakte appeltaart is een aanrader als dessert, maar ook het dessert met kleine gerechtjes is een prima afsluiter. De bediening was als altijd gastvrij en deskundig. Je krijgt hier echt waar voor je geld.

Mooie en gezellige brasserie, vriendelijke bediening

Erg vriendelijk personeel en een mooie lokatie. We hebben als lunch van een heerlijke tosti met brie en brood met zalm genoten. En de prijs is prima !!

Super leuke restaurantjes tegenover huis van doorn met gratis parkeren leuk en vriendelijke personeel in mooi natuur omgeving. Goeie prijskaartje en goed gevarieerd gerechten. Bij mooi weer kun je buiten op het tras gaan zitten deze restaurant is ook goed bereikbaar zowel met auto en openbaar vervoer.

Ongelooflijk maar waar: bij aankomst op het terras werd ons verteld dat men over een paar minuten niet meer kon bedienen, omdat men als personeel ging eten! Na een half uur zou men weer beschikbaar zijn. We knepen in onze wang, maar het was echt waar. Wat een ongastvrije organisatie.

Ontzettend goede en zeer vriendelijk personeel. De zoetjes werden zelfs voor mij in mijn koffie gedaan. Dit heb ik nog nooit meegemaakt. Lunchen is hier heel betaalbaar. Dineren is wel aan de prijs. Prachtige locatie. Mooi terras. Hoge kwaliteit eten en drinken en gebak. Ik raad echt de zelf gemaakte appelgebak aan.

Geweldig plekje om te zitten. Alleen wat gedronken dus weet niet hoe het eten is. Maar wat voorbij kwam zag er goed uit

Heerlijk gegeten, asperges waren super klaargemaakt en op verzoek kreeg ik er geklaarde boter bij. Ook de feathersteak was geweldig. Dit restaurant verdient meer gasten, want het is echt goed. De dame van de bediening ( die er al 100 jaar werkt😉) was trouwens ook super vriendelijk en gastvrij.

Leuk om hier even iets te drinken na een bezoek aan huis Doorn, tegenover deze Brasserie. We zaten aan het raam in het zonnetje te genieten van de entourage.

We hebben er een kop koffie gedronken en een stuk zelfgebakken appeltaart gegeten. Heerlijk in het zonnetje achter het glas, eind februari 2023. Mooie plek tegenover huize Doorn, dat we net hadden bezichtigd. Prachtig😊
