My experience at Het Wapen van Rijsenburg was unfortunately a series of mistakes that piled up into an evening of disappointment. Upon arrival, we were completely ignored; the staff walked past us several times without even glancing at us. When we were finally addressed, we were assigned a table that was still dirty from the previous guests. It took another twenty minutes before someone came to take our order. The starter was served lukewarm and contained ingredients not listed on the menu, which was downright dangerous for someone with allergies. When I mentioned this, it was simply brushed aside with the remark: "That's how we always make it." No apologies, no alternative, nothing. The main course didn't arrive until almost an hour later and was completely wrongly prepared. The meat was well-done instead of medium, the vegetables were overcooked, and everything was presented to us without any explanation. When I asked if this could be resolved, I was met with an irritated look. As if that wasn't enough, the bill was ultimately incorrectly prepared, with prices higher than those on the menu, and even a drink we hadn't ordered. It took a long time before anyone was willing to look into it, and even then, it felt like we were the ones being bothered. What made this experience especially painful wasn't the accumulation of errors themselves, but the complete absence of responsibility, hospitality, and genuine service. A restaurant with such a name and history should know better. Unfortunately, this evening felt like a missed opportunity on all fronts. We won't be coming back for a while, hopefully, things will improve in the future.

Our family had dinner at your place for our birthday. Good menu, nice atmosphere, and wonderful service. A fantastic experience.

Cozy location with super friendly service. Good menu and delicious food. The lighting was initially set to senior citizen's club mode, but it was later adjusted to a much more inviting atmosphere. The space can get a bit crowded when several groups are present.

We had reserved a table for two at 7:30 PM. Unfortunately, it was an unbearable racket from guests talking increasingly loudly. A serious dinner should have been in a relaxing atmosphere, but unfortunately, it wasn't. The waiter advised us to sit close together so we could still have some conversation. He asked the guests sitting next to us to be a little quieter. I advise you to bring some soundproofing material to make the dinner more relaxing. We've already booked a Christmas Day dinner, but we're not sure whether we want to go ahead or perhaps cancel. Your waiter told us that there were about 100 guests last Friday, but about 160 on Christmas. Such an unstoppable amount of noise at our Christmas dinner doesn't seem appealing. We had already noticed the complaint about so much noise and heard it from other friends.

It's conveniently located on the main road. It has a beautiful conservatory. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Lunch for 6 people, plenty of choice, very tasty, top staff, very attentive and friendly, but understaffed, it was a bit busy (which is a good sign!) we will come back soon

The reception was a bit chaotic. We were asked twice if we'd been welcomed. The main course was really excellent (Secreto Iberico)! The dessert was okay. What we found a shame was the considerable ambient noise in the restaurant. This is, of course, fantastic for the restaurant, as it means they're doing well, and they deserve it. All in all, we had a pleasant evening.

Friendly service, but I ordered a goat cheese salad; a handful of lettuce, some walnuts, and a slice of goat cheese for €20.75. Unbelievably bad and very little. I asked for a piece of bread, but it never arrived.

We had lunch. The club sandwich was with sliced ​​chicken breast, not fried chicken. The eggs Benedict had been under the lamp for too long. Too bad.

Saturday afternoon, the terrace was half full. Mediocre service, glasses were repeatedly grabbed by the rims, even after reporting to the bar. Tartare was nothing more than ground beef with capers. Simply put, tasteless. In short, considering the prices they charge, what you get, and the way you're served, I won't be back.

The food was excellent. The wait was unclear at the start. The staff was busy. After being welcomed, the service was friendly and good. The outdoor terrace is located on the main street of Driebergen, separated from the street and road by a partition. The restaurant is a meeting place and a nightlife venue for locals, both young and old. It also has a bar. Downside: the terrace is not a smoke-free area. There is no separate smoking area. The terraces are close together, so there is a lot of smoke.

The food is good, but nothing special. And the prices are exorbitant. What disappointed us most was the extremely slow service, probably because there were only two people there on a Saturday night. A good and cozy restaurant that we love to visit after hiking in the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. The staff is friendly. The food is good, and they have a nice wine list with delicious wines.

A lovely spot and the best terrace in Driebergen. It's a great place for lunch and drinks. On busy weekend evenings, there's a shortage of staff, and service plummets. We made a reservation at 7:00 PM, but the main course didn't arrive until 9:30 PM. Meanwhile, we had to wait a good 45 minutes for a drink. It happens, but I had a similar experience last month. The food itself is okay, but way overpriced for the small portions you get. €16.75 for a tuna tartare that fits in my tooth and €5.75 for a small cup of fries. In short, a nice place for drinks. Definitely book somewhere else for dinner afterward.

Nice restaurant, food was not special, lettuce on your plate was tasteless and limp, service could be better, after the food was served you had to really try to get the attention of the staff to order drinks. Quality price is not in proportion. Not for repeating for us!

Disappointing experience and poor handling For my sister and brother-in-law's birthday, we were invited to celebrate this in this restaurant. My boyfriend and I chose the sole as the main course. Unfortunately, the misery started when we got home: we both felt unwell and my boyfriend even had to throw up. My sister reported this to the restaurant the next day. Unfortunately, we received a particularly nasty response. Instead of any empathy or a proposal for a solution, we mainly got the feeling that we were not believed. This was very disappointing and left us with a bad taste - figuratively and literally. For a restaurant that charges such high prices, you expect not only quality on the plate, but also professional and customer-friendly service. Unfortunately, both were lacking. In any case, we will not be coming back here.

We were welcomed for lunch. The choice of dishes was wide and the quality of the dishes was excellent. Definitely worth a visit.

King's Day is always busy, but there were a number of comments. I can still understand that drinks are served from plastic cups, but at least the bottles can be served, it also became clear that the soft drink was tapped from a lemonade machine. Spa blue was simply poured from the tap. But you did pay according to the menu prices. The food was fine. Then go to the toilet, 1 euro per person, while you were a guest, so 6 euros for 6 people spent on the toilet. It is written 1 euro for keeping the toilet clean, in my opinion the men's toilet was not cleaned, the (hopefully) water on the floor is not visible from the cleaning and the rest leaves much to be desired, the women's garbage bin was overflowing, a lot of grumbling from the women. Obviously long lines, so little cleaning required for the strict toilet lady. Inside the cup of beer costs 3.50, outside 7 euros for the same beer. Scandalous, bad name for such a (seems to me, respectable) restaurant, this is just cashing in or abuse of the King's Day situation. It can also be done differently, despite the crowds. We have been before, even during King's Day, but now I advise everyone against it!

Decent parking space next to the restaurant, with 2 charging points. You can sit comfortably on the terrace, in both the shade and the sun, and road noise is not too bad.

Zeer aangenaam om te tafelen. Leuke zeteltjes en een ruime keuze om te lunchen tot 17 u. Nadien zijn we op het zonovergoten terras gaan zitten . Een zeer mooie omgeving.

Great atmospheric restaurant: ate there on March 20th. Very tasty food, nicely presented. Excellent and very smooth service. In short: highly recommended!

Wonderful restaurant for lunch.

Faded glory. Egg Benedict cold and on strange toast and a meatball sandwich from the freezer and gravy from a carton and way too salty. Snack bar level.

Great for a cup of coffee for business, but also for a nice meal for two. Cozy place with a good menu, good food and not too fancy. Casual atmosphere.

The waiter in this restaurant has a personal preference for 'mingling' with the local guests and letting us passers-by slack off. People who came in after us were presented with the menu before us. After making a choice, the food arrived fairly quickly and was also fine. Only again we were ignored by the waiter. He was busy with other guests and his chat. We were never asked if we liked it or if we wanted something to drink? After staring at an empty plate for 15 minutes that had not been cleared, we got up and paid. '6 tens please' was literally the way to present the bill. We'll save that coffee and dessert for another time. If you live in Driebergen, you are in luck with this waiter. But a little more attention to other guests wouldn't go amiss. We won't come here again.

Nice restaurant, mainly good food

Delicious food in a cozy restaurant. I thought the price for what is called a brasserie was a bit steep. Service very friendly and helpful.

Had a delicious meal at table 20 last Saturday, December 28, 2024. Service was very fast and most friendly. Beautiful dishes and beautifully presented, we had a starter twice, one of which was as a main course and the portions were more than sufficient, so we skipped dessert and immediately had coffee. Very nice to see a lot of young people from Driebergen-Rijsenburg in the restaurant, which immediately makes the atmosphere more youthful, lots of lighting so you don't have to look for things, what's on the menu or take your glasses to see what there is on your plate. In short, if you want to eat well and enjoy yourself, you "must" visit this restaurant. You'll be as excited about it as we are. Team of The Weapon of Rijsenburg we will be back soon. The kitchen was not actually open yet, but... the chef was already there and was able to make me a delicious ham/cheese spread. Beautiful tent by the way!

Nice historic place. First had a drink and then had a delicious meal. It was a new menu with a 4-course game menu. This is highly recommended. Furthermore, nice staff, good service and pleasant crowds.

Where do I begin, I took my partner out for a late lunch and a young waiter came and took the order for drinks. We received the drinks and we saw no one else for a long time, so I got up and looked for someone to ask for menu's. The young waiter that brought our drinks said he would bring them. We waited for a long time and then he past us by with menu's and seemed more interested in his friends that sat down and took their orders. as he was walking by I asked again for the menu and he looked kind of confused and then realised he was holding some. Our order took a long time and when it arrived, mine was not quite right. It took so long again before we saw the waiter and he finally took my plate back to the kitchen, I had also asked for a beer which never showed up. The food took so long my partner started eating his by the time my food finally arrived he had finished eating. I had to ask this waiter 3 times for my beer before it finally showed up. Eating on my own and my partner sitting and ready to leave was not my idea of a romantic lunch. This was not a nice experience, this waiter shouldn't be working here, he doesn't care, not at all polite, doesn't look at you or smile when you speak to him, he didn't come and check if all was OK until it was time to pay. We didn't feel at all welcome. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

Good food, no Michelin but just good and cozy food. Pleasant service. And as a student: always extra fun on Thursday evenings!

We thought it would be a sunny spot for a Sunday brunch. After a semi-middle-aged waiter promised to bring us the menu, we enjoyed the sun for about 10 minutes and watched for a while as he and colleagues went about all kinds of tertiary activities without bringing us the menu. Then we went for brunch elsewhere

Very nice place to come. Everything is almost always well organised. One important point is that they could use a tap course here. Those beers served here might as well go down the sink! Very sad :(

Some dishes are not consistent in taste and presentation and/or preparation from one day to another.

We arrived at 14:30 and there were 8 tables with a "reserved" sign in the shade on the terrace (=all of them), and after asking the staff we were told we can only choose a table in half-sun, soon to be in full sun. For 2 hours we spent more than 100€ and only TWO "reserved" tables had guests in the meantime. We ate and drank (a lot) and left and still 6 tables HAD NO GUESTS AT ALL. The chicken club sandwich was extremely dry, not even butter or mayonnaise on it. Brioche with pulled chicken was sort of ok. The staff was not interested, operating on "autopilot" because we are not Dutch so it seemed we will not return here - well guess what, we will not.

The food is like an average cafe. Although the service was friendly, the drink was served in a different glass than ordered. The parking lot was full, while the restaurant was not. Parking in the area was also quite difficult.

We waited half an hour to order food, but the staff was apparently too busy to take our order. Looked at several times but no help. You also have to ask for everything. Rarely experienced such poor service.

Had dinner in the beautiful conservatory to celebrate a birthday. Unfortunately uninterested, not very attentive staff. Had to ask several times for missing cutlery, it took a long time before we could order another drink. Had to wait a long time for dessert. I didn't really feel like a guest. So next time eat somewhere else.

Visited this Restaurant a few times last week. The more often you come, the less fun it is. This is more of a place for business people and students. I didn't really feel comfortable here. Avoid the area past the bar on the right. If you sit there, they will surely forget you. Plus the bar is quite noisy. The staff could be a little friendlier. Parking can sometimes be quite a problem.

The first time everything was perfect: friendly attentive service and delicious, generous and tasty (slightly too red colored) slices of smoked salmon for lunch. Good atmosphere, nice decor, authentic surroundings. Unfortunately, the last time only the cut edges of the salmon that were full of red food coloring were on our plate. Very disappointing. In short, the quality has been very variable so far, but because of the beautiful ambiance we give it another chance. Parking on site and, if full, in the immediate vicinity, free.

Royal day. Lunch. Very busy. Custom menu. Fine, service was also good. Pay immediately when ordering. It was nicely explained because of running away like that on such a day. So no tip. Overall fine. Makes me curious if there is a normal day with the standard card. To be continued.

We had dinner there on Sunday evening, we had a very bad experience. The waiter can sit there at one of the four tables, without addressing the coats. No welcome, we had to wait a very long time for everything, once we were told that everything was taking a long time. Don't ask if you like it or would you like something else, nothing at all!!!!!!!! Even no response to that. The food was cold. He only complained that he had been on his feet for 14 hours on Saturday. We have nothing to do with that. Then he shouldn't become a waiter. When we ordered the coffee it also took way too long, we said something about no response, they couldn't say sorry. When we paid we got the coffee for free. That doesn't make us any better, and it doesn't work there. We thought we were evening out, but that feeling was not there at all. That waiter doesn't belong in the catering industry...I didn't say hello at all, otherwise I have no words for it.

What a great royal party it was yesterday

Too bad - wine in a plastic cup, so did the coffee, chocolate milk from a can, but the price had not changed. (I understand that there are crowds because of King's Day, but in the restaurant you simply cannot serve it like that and charge such an amount for it = not nice)

Ordered raw vegetable salad with chicken. Lots of lettuce, little chicken and the raw food had a lot of hard veins. Definitely won't order next time.

Somewhat dated restaurant, but what do you want? It is already 200 years old. Atmospheric to have a drink and something to eat. Spacious parking space and that is a "luxury" nowadays.

Delicious food in the conservatory. Very friendly and helpful staff. The conservatory is noisy, especially when it is busy. There was a large group which was always a bit noisy. That doesn't change the fact that we had a nice evening.

Staff was not really attentive. We had reserved a table, so you expect a table to be ready. The coffee cups have been on the table all lunch
