Super beautiful location; we come here for a sort of reunion of my mother's family, the 80+ year olds. Our aunt lives in Driebergen and it is no longer feasible for her to host family at home. However, this last time I noticed that for the 80+ year olds, the toilet is becoming a difficult obstacle 😉. Hence 4 stars; it could have been a 5 though, as the food, service, and atmosphere are all top-notch 👌

The food was good. Unfortunately, the service was not so good. I was one of the few people sitting inside. It took a long time to get through to anyone. My second drink was not brought. I finished half of my main course. After that, I just walked to the bar myself to pay.

I came in saw most tables have reserved sign so ask employee if there anything available outside and was told to check around the corner after 30min went inside and was told to choose a table someone will come to me. I'm here for 50min and not one employee came to me. Whilst they go to other tables they don't look in my direction at all

It has become an arrogant place. Van Liemt's daughter is ruining it completely. She pays no attention to her guests. It's a shame, especially if you pay top dollar.

We've been coming here for years, it's a shame they changed the delicious cappuccino into a "push-the-button" cappuccino. A big mistake that many hospitality businesses make these days; they think they're saving some time but are losing customers..............

Beautiful location with top-notch staff. Stands above the average lunchroom in terms of ambiance, customer friendliness, and of course, the dishes on the menu. The vibe of Blaricum or Wassenaar, but in a normal setting. Highly recommended!

The service was very poor. Everything took a long time! We even had to wait a long time for the drinks. In addition, we sat at the table with empty plates from the starter for at least 45 minutes. After we mentioned this, it took some time before the plates were cleared. We sat at the table for 3.5 hours (!!) for a starter, dessert, and a cup of coffee (dessert wasn't even asked....)! The staff displayed an arrogant attitude; not a smile was to be seen. One lady was inexperienced (she came back with the same empty bottle after having poured out a bottle of red wine...). Another lady, on the other hand, was friendly, but we only saw her once. The man walking around felt superior to the rest. Fortunately, the quality of the food was good. Furthermore, it was very noisy in the conservatory.

Our first impression from the outside was very good. The restaurant had a beautiful, magnificent appearance. We had reserved for 7:00 PM, but upon entering, we were shown to a table that wasn't even set yet. No problem, that can happen. The table was set quickly afterwards. That is to say, a tablecloth was laid down. It took a while before we were asked what we wanted to drink. We wanted to see the wine list. Another waitress came to bring it. After making a choice, we had to wait a bit. Then the bottle was brought by yet another waiter. We didn't have glasses yet. These were fetched again. After a very long wait, we were shown the menu. We asked if we could have a bread roll beforehand. Before the main course. This took a while again. We didn't get our starter until around 8:30 PM, brought in by yet another waiter. That is 1.5 hours after we arrived. The table next to us had arrived later and received their main course by then. When we received our main course, it was already 9:30 PM. We had a tournedos (which was supposed to be medium) that really didn't taste like a good piece of meat. Poor quality. It was tender, though. But medium meant it was still completely raw on the inside. That was the last straw. We pointed this out so they would have another chance to change it. But after cooking this piece again—which was still undercooked, it was still raw—we did get a bottle of house wine. But then again, that made the steak taste bad. The vegetables as a garnish were also just dumped on in huge chunks. All very disappointing. After our dessert, we weren't asked at all if we wanted anything to drink. We certainly won't be coming back here. What terrible service. There was also a lot of switching between waitstaff, which meant we lost track of things and no one knew exactly what was happening at our table.

We have been coming here (in the conservatory) for over 50 years, to our complete satisfaction: a nice menu, good dishes, a pleasant atmosphere, and relaxed service. I don't know what the situation is like on the terrace. It might be busy, I imagine. We always make a reservation, so there is no waiting time.

Today was the first/last time I had lunch here with 3 people/colleagues. At first, Mrs. 1 allowed us to sit anywhere. When we were seated at a cozy round table, Mrs. 2 came over and said that the table was reserved and asked if we would please sit somewhere else. There was no reserved sign like at other tables. I made a joke about it, but apparently it wasn't appreciated. The food was fine/good. When paying, we wanted to pay separately. Mrs. 2 asked me in a serious tone if I really meant that. Apparently irritated, she started charging us separately. My colleague wanted to add everything up and split it later, but Mrs. 2 said in an unpleasant tone, "Now I am charging everything separately." Apparently, enough money comes in here to be able to adopt such a tone. She could kiss a tip goodbye. Fortunately, we had a very pleasant time together. But not thanks to Mrs. 2. And if you are reading this, Mrs. 2, do something about your attitude or find another job. Oh right, nobody sat at the table where we were sitting first, so it was a fuss about nothing. Had a bad night/an argument?

Always a nice and atmospheric meeting point in the middle so we can walk together, with lunch before or after. The welcome was friendly, and there was a lovely spot in the sun on the terrace. The food was tasty and the service pleasant. Definitely recommended! We would love to come back here again.

Poor service when making a reservation. What do you do when you book a room 8 weeks in advance for your family dinner with 23 people, and another group is simply put in the agreed-upon room? In short, you meet with the boss, check the menu and agreements in the meantime, and then discover that the boss reassures you with a lie when you ask for clarification, leaving you with nowhere to turn on the day itself and being put in the restaurant. What do you do then? Despite very nice staff and service (top lady), you still leave a bad review. Sorry, but it is a huge disappointment when you are taken for a ride like this as a regular customer.

We've been coming to Het Wapen monthly for over 30 years. It was a real treat again! Prompt and charming service and a delicious lunch.

Recently, on a sunny day, we had coffee at Het Wapen and dinner after our walk. The terrace was very busy with students from the automotive program, and the staff inside couldn't handle it either. They did try their best, though. The cappuccino and pastries were very reasonable, and the dinner was also decent, but because it was busy, we were given a second glass of wine after the meal was ready.

The beautiful weather allowed us to sit comfortably on the terrace. But the IVA students had also planned this, making it very noisy, and more and more people kept arriving. The waitress had just started at Het Wapen, and it showed. The quality of the food wasn't what I'm used to at Het Wapen.

We eat here regularly after a lovely walk in the area, thanks to the delicious food and the beautiful building. The service is good, although it can take a bit longer when it's busy. It is also quite noisy when it's crowded. The wine is very tasty. A while ago, I ordered a risotto that didn't taste good because it was far too salty. I mentioned this to the wait staff, and they handled it very appropriately: they acknowledged that it shouldn't taste like that, didn't charge for the meal, and offered an alternative with sincere apologies. Otherwise, we have always enjoyed our meals (especially fans of the salads), so we would love to come back.

Good place for good food with good service.

We came for dinner yesterday. The onion soup had almost no liquid. It was like a mush of onions. It was only half a bowl. The taste was good, but it shouldn't be like that. When the wine was poured, my husband got a large glass and I got a minimal amount, very sloppy. The fries were barely warm and under-fried. The food was otherwise okay but not particularly tasty. The price/quality ratio is poor. The staff were few and far between and often didn't know where to bring the food. It felt like they were either too busy, understaffed, or not properly trained. The welcome was also unpleasant and unfriendly. We didn't feel welcome. I wouldn't go back. Such a shame.

There's a decent parking lot right next to the restaurant, with two charging stations for electric cars. The terrace offers comfortable seating in both shade and sunshine, with minimal road noise. But in winter, it's perfectly pleasant to sit inside. The food is excellent, both lunch and snacks.

We had lunch here yesterday. The service was terribly disappointing. We had to wait almost 20 minutes for a coke and ginger tea to be brought to our table. When a waiter needed a red wine glass for another table, he simply grabbed it from our table. Then lunch arrived, which was fine, but just as we were finishing our meal, someone came over and took everything away without even asking if it was good or if the table could be cleared. We actually wanted to have some coffee or tea, but after 20 minutes, no one had come by. I paid and we went home. A lovely afternoon for two was sorely disappointed by the service we received at Het Wapen van Rijsenburg.

What a cold, shitty place with unfriendly staff. They couldn't crack a smile, and the atmosphere was chilly. A rather posh look, but expensive and not customer-friendly. I didn't like it.

On Saturday, January 17th, we held a birthday party for 25 people. We started with drinks and then had dinner. Everything was very well organized. We had a wonderful evening and a delicious meal. The quality of the lunch was excellent! Very tasty. Pleasant atmosphere. Friendly staff. A bit short on staff, though. Sometimes we had to wait a long time. The acoustics are a bit poor in the conservatory. It's very noisy. Overall, I was satisfied.

Definitely dirty doors right when you enter. The reception was poor, with no signage for putting your coat away. The toilet was filthy. The staff couldn't even say "good afternoon" or "would you like a drink?" (The male staff was dressed neatly, but the woman was wearing leggings, which was a definite no-go.) They picked up the lunch menu for us. The lunch itself was chicken in a pan, quickly stir-fried with ketjap, and that was it. I could go on and on.

My experience at Het Wapen van Rijsenburg was unfortunately a series of mistakes that piled up into an evening of disappointment. Upon arrival, we were completely ignored; the staff walked past us several times without even glancing at us. When we were finally addressed, we were assigned a table that was still dirty from the previous guests. It took another twenty minutes before someone came to take our order. The starter was served lukewarm and contained ingredients not listed on the menu, which was downright dangerous for someone with allergies. When I mentioned this, it was simply brushed aside with the remark: "That's how we always make it." No apologies, no alternative, nothing. The main course didn't arrive until almost an hour later and was completely wrongly prepared. The meat was well-done instead of medium, the vegetables were overcooked, and everything was presented to us without any explanation. When I asked if this could be resolved, I was met with an irritated look. As if that wasn't enough, the bill was ultimately incorrectly prepared, with prices higher than those on the menu, and even a drink we hadn't ordered. It took a long time before anyone was willing to look into it, and even then, it felt like we were the ones being bothered. What made this experience especially painful wasn't the accumulation of errors themselves, but the complete absence of responsibility, hospitality, and genuine service. A restaurant with such a name and history should know better. Unfortunately, this evening felt like a missed opportunity on all fronts. We won't be coming back for a while, hopefully, things will improve in the future.

Cozy location with super friendly service. Good menu and delicious food. The lighting was initially set to senior citizen's club mode, but it was later adjusted to a much more inviting atmosphere. The space can get a bit crowded when several groups are present.

We had reserved a table for two at 7:30 PM. Unfortunately, it was an unbearable racket from guests talking increasingly loudly. A serious dinner should have been in a relaxing atmosphere, but unfortunately, it wasn't. The waiter advised us to sit close together so we could still have some conversation. He asked the guests sitting next to us to be a little quieter. I advise you to bring some soundproofing material to make the dinner more relaxing. We've already booked a Christmas Day dinner, but we're not sure whether we want to go ahead or perhaps cancel. Your waiter told us that there were about 100 guests last Friday, but about 160 on Christmas. Such an unstoppable amount of noise at our Christmas dinner doesn't seem appealing. We had already noticed the complaint about so much noise and heard it from other friends.

It's conveniently located on the main road. It has a beautiful conservatory. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

The reception was a bit chaotic. We were asked twice if we'd been welcomed. The main course was really excellent (Secreto Iberico)! The dessert was okay. What we found a shame was the considerable ambient noise in the restaurant. This is, of course, fantastic for the restaurant, as it means they're doing well, and they deserve it. All in all, we had a pleasant evening.

A lovely spot and the best terrace in Driebergen. It's a great place for lunch and drinks. On busy weekend evenings, there's a shortage of staff, and service plummets. We made a reservation at 7:00 PM, but the main course didn't arrive until 9:30 PM. Meanwhile, we had to wait a good 45 minutes for a drink. It happens, but I had a similar experience last month. The food itself is okay, but way overpriced for the small portions you get. €16.75 for a tuna tartare that fits in my tooth and €5.75 for a small cup of fries. In short, a nice place for drinks. Definitely book somewhere else for dinner afterward.

Disappointing experience and poor handling For my sister and brother-in-law's birthday, we were invited to celebrate this in this restaurant. My boyfriend and I chose the sole as the main course. Unfortunately, the misery started when we got home: we both felt unwell and my boyfriend even had to throw up. My sister reported this to the restaurant the next day. Unfortunately, we received a particularly nasty response. Instead of any empathy or a proposal for a solution, we mainly got the feeling that we were not believed. This was very disappointing and left us with a bad taste - figuratively and literally. For a restaurant that charges such high prices, you expect not only quality on the plate, but also professional and customer-friendly service. Unfortunately, both were lacking. In any case, we will not be coming back here.

King's Day is always busy, but there were a number of comments. I can still understand that drinks are served from plastic cups, but at least the bottles can be served, it also became clear that the soft drink was tapped from a lemonade machine. Spa blue was simply poured from the tap. But you did pay according to the menu prices. The food was fine. Then go to the toilet, 1 euro per person, while you were a guest, so 6 euros for 6 people spent on the toilet. It is written 1 euro for keeping the toilet clean, in my opinion the men's toilet was not cleaned, the (hopefully) water on the floor is not visible from the cleaning and the rest leaves much to be desired, the women's garbage bin was overflowing, a lot of grumbling from the women. Obviously long lines, so little cleaning required for the strict toilet lady. Inside the cup of beer costs 3.50, outside 7 euros for the same beer. Scandalous, bad name for such a (seems to me, respectable) restaurant, this is just cashing in or abuse of the King's Day situation. It can also be done differently, despite the crowds. We have been before, even during King's Day, but now I advise everyone against it!

The waiter in this restaurant has a personal preference for 'mingling' with the local guests and letting us passers-by slack off. People who came in after us were presented with the menu before us. After making a choice, the food arrived fairly quickly and was also fine. Only again we were ignored by the waiter. He was busy with other guests and his chat. We were never asked if we liked it or if we wanted something to drink? After staring at an empty plate for 15 minutes that had not been cleared, we got up and paid. '6 tens please' was literally the way to present the bill. We'll save that coffee and dessert for another time. If you live in Driebergen, you are in luck with this waiter. But a little more attention to other guests wouldn't go amiss. We won't come here again.

Delicious food in a cozy restaurant. I thought the price for what is called a brasserie was a bit steep. Service very friendly and helpful.

Had a delicious meal at table 20 last Saturday, December 28, 2024. Service was very fast and most friendly. Beautiful dishes and beautifully presented, we had a starter twice, one of which was as a main course and the portions were more than sufficient, so we skipped dessert and immediately had coffee. Very nice to see a lot of young people from Driebergen-Rijsenburg in the restaurant, which immediately makes the atmosphere more youthful, lots of lighting so you don't have to look for things, what's on the menu or take your glasses to see what there is on your plate. In short, if you want to eat well and enjoy yourself, you "must" visit this restaurant. You'll be as excited about it as we are. Team of The Weapon of Rijsenburg we will be back soon. The kitchen was not actually open yet, but... the chef was already there and was able to make me a delicious ham/cheese spread. Beautiful tent by the way!

Nice historic place. First had a drink and then had a delicious meal. It was a new menu with a 4-course game menu. This is highly recommended. Furthermore, nice staff, good service and pleasant crowds.

Where do I begin, I took my partner out for a late lunch and a young waiter came and took the order for drinks. We received the drinks and we saw no one else for a long time, so I got up and looked for someone to ask for menu's. The young waiter that brought our drinks said he would bring them. We waited for a long time and then he past us by with menu's and seemed more interested in his friends that sat down and took their orders. as he was walking by I asked again for the menu and he looked kind of confused and then realised he was holding some. Our order took a long time and when it arrived, mine was not quite right. It took so long again before we saw the waiter and he finally took my plate back to the kitchen, I had also asked for a beer which never showed up. The food took so long my partner started eating his by the time my food finally arrived he had finished eating. I had to ask this waiter 3 times for my beer before it finally showed up. Eating on my own and my partner sitting and ready to leave was not my idea of a romantic lunch. This was not a nice experience, this waiter shouldn't be working here, he doesn't care, not at all polite, doesn't look at you or smile when you speak to him, he didn't come and check if all was OK until it was time to pay. We didn't feel at all welcome. I will not be returning to this restaurant.
