Four of us dined at the Notables on Saturday evening. Apparently, the chef changed about five months ago. We were very impressed with the quality of the food. Three of us had the venison steak, rarely had it so good and flavorful. The fourth dish was the fish of the day, red mullet with a basil sauce. A bit salty, but very tasty! The staff recommended a nice Rioja to go with the venison steak, which was also very tasty and indeed a lovely combination. Friendly service. Enjoyed it!

Delicious food, friendly staff. Good value for money. Really whipped cream 👍 On the downside, there were a lot of dogs in the restaurant. Lots of barking. So, no more for us. Leave your dog at home when you eat at a restaurant.

We had lunch on the terrace this afternoon. Service was initially quick; drinks were brought, as was the lunch menu. The waitress then said she would be back soon to take our lunch order. When this took quite a while, she called the waitress herself to place the order. After more than half an hour, a waitress came to tell us that something had gone wrong with the receipts in the kitchen, but that our order would be there as soon as possible. This then turned out to be another 20 minutes. The waitress apologized for this. The small salad nicoise was indeed small, but tasted good. The club sandwich was mediocre; the bread wasn't great, and unfortunately, we had to search for the chicken with a magnifying glass. When we paid, the waitress asked if everything had been to our satisfaction. Unfortunately, she didn't respond to our complaint at all. Apparently, they don't handle complaints well here; a free drink or a discount on the bill was the least we expected. So, this was our last visit!

Very friendly waitstaff! Tomato soup, club sandwich, and daily special sandwitch were delicious.

An unexpectedly enjoyable break on a long bike ride. I'm increasingly noticing that friendly, good service contributes significantly to a satisfied dining experience, and that was certainly the case here. Also, delicious coffee, a nice cookie (with butter, he even mentioned, because I'd mentioned I was vegan), a beautiful location, and a charming village. Come and see! Seriously: everything was excellent. So I assume the food is good too.

Despite the slightly upscale name and decor, this is a regular diner. Don't expect culinary delights here, just your usual diner fare with fries and a bit of salad. There's nothing wrong with that if that's what you're looking for. Tables are close together, so you'll unintentionally hear the conversations of the neighbors next to and behind you.

I didn’t like the kip sate, since it is different than the typical sate with chicken on the sticks, the service was very good and the rest of the food as well.

We had a delicious lunch on the terrace. The service was very friendly and attentive. We couldn't decide, so we ordered a noodle salad with chicken and a sandwich of the week. This was neatly served on four plates, so we had a shared lunch. Delicious with two glasses of wine. We had a fantastic lunch.

Na een wandeling in Doorn komen we hier terecht voor de lunch. Het terras is gezellig en ligt aan de doorgaande weg door het centrum. De jongeman in de bediening heeft het behoorlijk druk, waardoor het allemaal net even wat langer duurt maar niets onoverkomelijks. We kiezen voor kroketten met brood en het broodje bal gehakt. De kroketten (van oma Bob's) zijn heerlijk en voorzien van dik gesneden vers brood en lekkere mosterd. Het broodje bal wordt geserveerd met friet. Prima frieten, goed brood en de bal gehakt haalt een magere voldoende. Dit is (maar dat beweert men ook niet op de kaart) geen huisgemaakte gehaktbal. Voor een "fabrieksbal" is hij net wat beter dus het zweeft er ergens tussen. De beloofde mosterd, die wel op de kaart staat, ontbreekt en is vervangen door; tja door wat eigenlijk? Een schaaltje rode jus/saus/vettigheid. Ik kan het niet thuisbrengen, lekker is het in ieder geval niet. Mijn beste gok is dat het de jus is maar dan slaat men de plank wel mis als het op jus maken aan komt. De bediening is netjes en vriendelijk. En samenvattend was de lunch prima. Zeker met het zonnetje erbij zit je hier heerlijk en gezellig.

What a nice restaurant and what a delicious sandwich of the week: chicken hot dog with lots of goodies. You would come back almost every day. Staff pleasant, good and attentive. Certainly not pushy. Prices very acceptable. Terrace looked cozy but it was too cold for us. Inside was certainly no less cozy. Highly recommended

You can have a drink in this restaurant. But the service is quick to check with you whether everything is still to your liking. I'm not really keen on that myself. The owner of this company is working on this and then you can score points with me. But don't put any pressure on it, because drink up, and now the next drink. Because then you won't see me anymore.

Coffee with apple pie, delicious

It was a wonderful restaurant with a nice and tasty menu! Good service even though it was quite busy!

Hier gegeten met vrienden. In de ochtend al gedronken met vers appelgebak. Prima. S’avonds kip saté op Thaise wijze. Bakje kip met pindasaus. Hier had ik meer van verwacht. Overige tafelgenoten biefstuk en een soort Mexicaanse wrap. Heel lekker. Waar de eigenaar de handen voor elkaar kreeg was het faciliteren van de dodenherdenking. Tv werd aangezet en bijna alle bezoekers respecteerden de 2 minuut stilt. Indrukwekkend. Er was echter ook 1 mevrouw die dit niet deed en ongegeneerd door bleef eten en toch hoorbaar haar afkeurende commentaar bleef geven op huidige situaties in Midden Oosten. Bah. Overigens geneerden haar overige tafelgasten zich ook zichtbaar aan dit gedrag. Tot slot. Hoera voor personeel van de Notabelen !

Voor het eerst bij de Notabelen gegeten, dat viel toch wel beetje tegen, moet gezegd, de steak/frites en Dorada waren wel prima, maar de Gambaspies en de kipsaté waren gewoonweg slecht, om bij de kipsaté op thaise wijze te beginnen, het gerecht zag er flets en bleek uit, als er staat op thaise wijze, verwacht je toch een wat pittige smaak...niets van dit, het gerecht was vlak van smaak, maar de Gambaspies spande de kroon, de Gamba's waren niet gaar en ook niet gepeld, ook niet half, zoals door de bedrijfsleider werd gezegd, de pasta aglio was klef en niet a dente, ook dit gerecht op bord 2 had dezelfde kwaliteit, De bedrijfsleider dacht dit op te lossen door beide borden terug te sturen, 5 minuten later kwam hij terug met de opgewarmde ontpelde Gamba's en zagen de borden er nog zieliger uit, smaak was dezelfde, de 3 personen binnen onze groep konden een kopje koffie van de zaak krijgen (...) . Aan onze groep werd verder geen aandacht meer geschonken, wel werd er tussendoor nog gevraagd of we nog koffie wilde, bij het afrekenen nogmaals mijn beklag gedaan bij de bar, waar de bedrijfsleider toen al was verdwenen, ook daar werd verder niets meer afgedaan van de rekening, en we betaalden dan ook de hoofdprijs...Beetje bedrijfsleider had toch nog aan klantenbinding kunnen doen door ons 2 hoofdgerechten niet te laten betalen toch?? De Notabelen...NOOIT meer!!!

Ate at De Notabelen for the first time, which was a bit disappointing, it must be said, the steak/french fries and Dorada were fine, but the Gambaskees and the chicken satay were simply bad, starting with the chicken satay in Thai style, the dish looked pale and pale, when it says Thai style, you expect a somewhat spicy taste... none of this, the dish had a bland taste, but the Gambaspies took the cake, the Gambas were undercooked and also not peeled, not even half, as said by the manager, the pasta aglio was soggy and not a dente, this dish on plate 2 also had the same quality, The manager thought he could solve this by sending both plates back, 5 minutes Later he came back with the warmed up peeled prawns and the plates looked even sadder, the taste was the same, the 3 people in our group could get a cup of coffee from the company (...). No further attention was paid to our group, but in between we were asked if we wanted any coffee. When paying, we once again complained to the bar, where the manager had already disappeared, and there too nothing was done about the bill, and we paid the main price... A little manager could have still done some customer loyalty by not letting us pay for 2 main courses, right?? The Notables...NEVER again!!!

We hebben hier de lunch gebruikt tijdens onze fietstocht. Je zit hier leuk op terras. De broodjes met kroket waren goed verzorgd. Het personeel was vriendelijk.

We had a nice meal, the sandwich of the week (naan bread with sausage) was a bit smaller than expected, but the price was also smaller. It was a nice sandwich. The wrap, bouncer with ham and cheese, and the club sandwich were also popular.

We relaxed on the comfortable couch. The service was super friendly and the snacks were incredibly tasty. The brownie is definitely recommended and the flamkuchen with gorgonzola

Zeer gastvrij, zowel bij reserveren als aan tafel ! Honden zijn welkom, de vriendelijke bediening toonde ons een tafeltje waar wij lekker zaten en dieren uit het zicht voor andere gasten konden liggen. Heerlijk gegeten. Prima prijs/kwaliteitverhouding.

Fijne bediening. Goede sfeer. Weinig keus vegetarisch of veganistisch eten. Overal is het broodje of salade geitenkaas zo ongeveer de enige keuze.

Goed eten, maar duur in verhouding met de porties.

Goed café-restaurant met heerlijke warme appelgebak. Jammer dat deze gelegenheid pas om 11.00 uur open gaat en gelegen is aan een luidruchtige weg.

Leuke en aardige bediening, kregen als verrassing een heerlijk stukje brownie bij de koffie.

Aardig restaurantje waar je goed kunt koffie e..d kunt drinken en lunchen als je fietst of wandelt. Ligging van terras is niet bijzonder fraai aan een kruising in het dorp waar regelmatig auto's langs komen. En je kan er ook heerlijk eten, voldoende keuze.

Lekker gegeten en gedronken. Mooi terras. Vervelend is het fietspad dat het terras van het restaurant scheid. Goed oppassen dus bij een sanitaire stop.

Heerlijk tijdens het wandelen in de kaapse bossen en door doorn uitgekomen bij dit restaurant terras. Hele goede appelgebak met slagroom en vriendelijk personeel.

Leuk plekje om wat te eten of te drinken!

Vandaag hier met een vriend hier de lunch gebruikt. Daarbij was bij de bestelling helaas, door een misverstand met het bedienend personeel, iets verkeerd gegaan. Dit is door de restauranthouder heel professioneel opgelost. Complimenten en tot ons volgende bezoek!

Typisch eetcafé. Te grof, te duur en, bijna a-typisch, magere porties. Jezit er met vrienden in het zonnetjes prima voor een consumptie maar voor het eten zou ik er niet zo naar teruggaan.

Porties zijn klein, zeker lekker! maar te duur in verhouding.

Prima plek voor een lunch. Jammer dat de hint voor de rekening niet werd begrepen.

Zeer attente en vriendelijke bediening

Leuke locatie en zeer vriendelijk personeel dat er alles aan doet om jouw avond geslaagd te maken! Tevens ook zeer goed betaalbaar, komen zeker terug! Terug geweest, weer zeer tevreden, nog steeds aardig personeel en lekker eten, zelfs beter dan vorige keer. Iets minder zout op de frietjes misschien 😉

Ik had een cadeaubon gekregen bij mijn afscheid als Natuurgids bij landgoed Beerschoten in de Bilt van het Utrechts Landschap. Die kon ik in het restaurant van de Notabelen in Doorn verzilveren tijdens de lunch. Wat ook vermeldings waard is, wij kregen zeer scherpe messen bij de lunch. Midden in Doorn. EEN ECHTE AANRADER.

We hebben er heerlijk gegeten. Personeel was vriendelijk.

Gelunched met familie. Vriendelijke en attente bediening. Tomatensoep en pizza brood waren " pittig van karakter ". Tip, geef dit aan op de kaart.

Leuke locatie om wat te drinken of te eten en je kan er heel gemakkelijk een bekende Nederlander tegen komen !
