Husband's 75th birthday. Although the service wasn't great, I still gave it 5 stars because it's usually always quick. The food was delicious, with a samsam menu; quite large portions, especially delicious and beautifully presented.

The staff finds other things more important than the customer, but the food is excellent.

De Kluis in Doorn truly surprised me. The food was delicious, the drinks just as delicious, but the staff made the experience complete. So sweet, so thoughtful, and genuinely attentive to the guests. You feel that the moment you sit down. We were offered the cocktail of the month, and it was already incredibly delicious. During our conversation, the waitress mentioned that they had a cocktail the previous month that she personally liked even better. I jokingly asked if they could make an exception and make it for me. She went to check with the bar to see if they still had all the ingredients. Not a minute later, she returned with a big smile: it was possible. The bartender was even enthusiastic about shaking it up specially upon request. I find that truly special; not being difficult, just contributing ideas and enjoying their work. When the cocktail was ready, they were both practically enjoying it with me. They asked me what I thought of it, and you could tell they were genuinely interested. When I told them I loved it, you could see them light up. That kind of energy is infectious. They're people passionate about their work and love their guests, and you can see that in everything. De Kluis is the kind of place where service, atmosphere, and quality come together perfectly, and where you leave feeling happy.

Perfect spot. The "chat" was the best choice for us. A bit of everything, and more than enough. We even had a white wine with it.

A group of 10 had a delicious meal! A great Samsam concept. The atmosphere was cozy and friendly. The service was prompt and enthusiastic. They even took allergies into account upon request. Absolutely fantastic. We'll definitely be back!

What a charming restaurant: very friendly staff, exceptionally fast service, and we enjoyed a delicious lunch! It's great that the old vault door of the former bank is still intact (and you can sit inside the old vault!). We'd love to come back for dinner sometime. 👍🏻👍🏻

Ate the club sandwich clean. The club sandwich was incredibly dry; there was no mayo or other sauce on the sandwiches, and the chicken breast was very dry! I recommend making the club sandwich more moist and not frying the chicken breast so dry.

De Kluis in Doorn is the restaurant where conviviality and hospitality are always paramount. Owner Johnny creates a warm and familiar atmosphere, and Yassan's attentive service makes every visit complete. I and many other students come here several times a week, precisely because you always feel welcome. A regular spot in Doorn where you'll want to keep coming back.

Oh, how many times have we eaten at De Kluis? Always good, delicious, relaxed, good service, and best of all, now with air conditioning inside 😉. So even better! Whether we order the Sam-Sam menu, or à la carte, wine, beer, or soft drinks, including water, everything is simply good. And that "simply good" is what De Kluis excels at. See you soon.

The staff was friendly but the owner was unfriendly and had a tense sore on his face. I would not go there again.

Fast service, delicious food, and despite being in a square with several other (larger) establishments, it's still cozy. And inexpensive.

We've been coming here for years after walking the dog. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is great, both outside on the terrace and inside. The service is always friendly and hospitable. We'd love to come back from The Hague 😋👍🍷

My husband and I ate here, but unfortunately, the restaurant has gone downhill. Portions have suddenly become smaller, and the service has been grumpy. I won't be going to De Kluis again next time.

The owner asks why one star? The coffee wasn't hot, we had to leave the roadside terrace and go to the other side, my husband ordered a salad, which took 20 minutes (we arrived around 8 p.m.), and the service was rude. I didn't see the restroom. Sorry, not a drunken teenager, but a 55-year-old woman! And look how you react!

This is a lovely place for lunch or dinner. The staff is very friendly and provides clear answers to any questions you may have. There are plenty of options for lunch or dinner. You can sit outside on the terrace or inside with the air conditioning. The outside area is covered with large umbrellas.

Yesterday I had lunch here. The food was more than excellent. The owner came by a few times to see if everything was still ok. Friendly service and a beautiful location. An asset to Doorn!

Had a starter and a main course and both were very tasty. The food is good and the portions are fine. It was nice to sit outside on the terrace and they regularly check if there is still a need for something and if everything is to your liking. Unfortunately 1 disadvantage... Make sure you look carefully at the receipt before paying. Unfortunately when we got home we only found out that 5 drinks had been put on our receipt. Total of €19.55 too much paid.

Yes, just grab a seat on a terrace and enjoy yourself on a nice big spacious and neat terrace. Spontaneous nice polite boys in the service. Our beer and wine were quickly served and in a neat quiet not pushy way we were asked if we wanted something from the menu. The menu as a placemat was presented to us and we were surprised about the small but nice menu. Sandwiches beforehand and while enjoying a drink we could quietly enjoy the main course. Paid little for a few hours of pleasure. We will do this again, absolutely top

In a somewhat chilly environment (cold and interior not great) we were pleasantly surprised by the very tasty food that you can combine thanks to the original concept. You can ask for half of a dish and combine it with half of another dish. Definitely recommended, also because the service is very quick and friendly.

Voor de tweede keer hier naartoe geweest, wij wonen niet dichtbij het restaurant. De eerste keer was zo bijzonder goed, dat wij nu besloten daar weer te eten en het eten was weer voortreffelijk! Buitengewoon GOED. Dit keer moesten wij wel lang wachten op het eten ( Sam sam) omdat er maar 1 kok was, maar het eten maakte echt alles goed!

Wat een verschrikkelijke ervaring! Op onze trouwdag dachten we hier fijn te lunchen, maar dat is in een nachtmerrie geëindigd. We bestelden o.a. saté van kipdijvlees, maar deze bleek halverwege de stokjes echt rauw te zijn. De kelner zag het en zou het met de keuken opnemen. Ik vroeg om de rekening en toen bleek ik de volle mep te moeten betalen. We konden ter compensatie een koffie krijgen van het huis! Die heb ik natuurlijk geweigerd. Bij thuiskomst was mijn man erg ziek en had hevige diarree waardoor deze dag, die natuurlijk heel feestelijk had moeten zijn, eindigde in een ware nachtmerrie.

Delicious food again, it was a bit more difficult to choose (I am currently pregnant), but unfortunately the choice is a lot more limited. On the other hand, I tried things that I normally wouldn't choose and that turned out quite well. It's a shame that there is still so much smoking on the terrace, it would be nice if there was a smoke-free area. Restaurant itself is good and friendly staff.

Today we celebrated my mother's birthday with about 35 family members and friends. The snacks were diverse, surprising and very tasty, service was super good (nice team), drinks were served on time and even remembered who had drunk what. Flexible in terms of design, coordination of snack rounds, shelter due to the rain, etc. Atmosphere was great! We all enjoyed it, the Gasterij de Kluis is definitely recommended!

Ate here today June 25, it was delicious. Indicated that it was my son's birthday, this was really nicely taken into account! Thank you for this!

Today June 7, 2024, after a long time I tried Gasterij De Kluis again. Hospitality no sorry, that is hard to find here. My girlfriend and I had a Latte Macchiato here. Even with a few extra bags of sugar, this was still undrinkable. We have been here before, when the Latte Macchiato still tasted reasonable, but now no. We gave this restaurant a try, but it's definitely the end of the story for us. There are better restaurants and we will go there.

Definitely recommended when you are in Doorn. The food is good and a nice gimmick is the Sam Sam option. You sometimes feel like having 2 dishes from the menu instead of 1. No problem. You simply choose 2 half portions. This way you don't have to take food from your partner's plate. 😁👍🏻

Very tasty food, very friendly service, and very atmospheric. And we were there on May 4 and at 8 p.m. there was also 2 minutes of silence, which I thought was really neat👌👌

Had a lovely lunch here with a friend this month. Chosen for the Onderonsje. A very friendly and cordial waiter. The atmosphere in the restaurant is nice and it was relatively quiet. The music was really background music: very nice. Only tip: possibly serve a little bit of bread at the Onderonsje. Personally, I like smoked salmon and carpaccio better with some bread. But that is of course personal taste. I will definitely come back!

On Monday I didn't feel like cooking anymore and we went to eat with 4 people at De Kluis in Doorn, one of the few restaurants that is open on Mondays. Had a delicious meal there for a reasonable price Definitely recommended to eat there again

I eat here a lot with my mother, sister and daughter. We always receive excellent service from the friendly service and the food is always delicious! I'll be moving soon, but I'll definitely keep coming back regularly to have a nice bite to eat at the safe!

Delicious food. We opted for the surprise lunch for 2 people. We expected to get a soup with mini sandwiches, but were pleasantly surprised when we got a large plate with different dishes. In addition to soup, there were 2 warm and 2 cold dishes with some fries.

Het menu is nogal klassiek met redelijke selectie aan vegetarische gerechten. Het eten ziet er fraai uit, maar de smaak is veel op basis van sausjes. De bediening is vriendelijk maar er is verbetering mogelijk; zo hield onze ober bijvoorbeeld glazen aan de binnenkant vast. Geen aanrader.

Vreselijk! 1 ster is nog teveel!!! Mosterdsoep was op daarom tomaat gekozen. En nog een broodje.Heel lang duurde het voor de bestelling werd gebracht. Soep geprobeerc; niet te eyen! dit had niks met tomaat te maken dit was hete peper! Veel en veel te scherp. Gezegd maar sorp wed meegenomen. Bij afrekenen stomverbaasd moesten wij de soep die niet te eten was gewoon betalen! schandalig dit. Zonder excuus. Medisch gezien mag ik helemaal heen scherp eten dus dubbele meficatie moeten nemen. Heel slecht dit 2 ster is nog teveel.

Het eten was geweldig evenals de bediening. Het restaurant zelf vond ik een beetje ouderwets en muffin. Maar verder heel prettig en verrassend.

Erg lekker gegeten en opvallend vriendelijk personeel! Het personeel in dit restaurant werd (toen wij er waren) grotendeels gerund door vluchtelingen/buitenlanders die oprecht hun best doen aardig over te komen en vriendelijk te zijn, tevens doen ze hun best de Nederlandse taal goed machtig te zijn. Dat is het toppunt van integreren, zo zien we het graag! Het eten was lekker, misschien wat aan de dure kant maar dat was geen probleem. Wij komen zeker nog eens terug!

Hoge kwaliteit eten en drinken en zeer vriendelijk personeel. Heel betaalbare prijzen.

Na besteld te hebben stond de lunch snel op tafel. Vond alleen dat de uitsmijter wat vettig was. Zout en peper was niet aanwezig op de tafel.

Gisteren met zijn vieren wezen eten. We hebben veel moeten wachten op drinken en ook de tijd tussen het eten was wat lang. We hebben zelfs na ruim 30 minuten overwogen weg te gaan. Het Sam Sam concept is heel goed! Geen kleine hapjes om zo alles te proeven , maar flinke borden waar je na afloop echt van vol zit. Niet alles werd gebracht van het hoofdgerecht, maar is uiteindelijk opgelost door koffie van het huis. Achteraf konden we begrip opbrengen waarom het zo lang duurde allemaal. Met een vol terras in de volle warmte liepen er ook maar twee serveerders. Wat anno 2023 echt niet meer kan zijn de vieze asbakken op tafel en het roken op het terras. Met een kettingrookster naast ons was dat echt geen prettig ervaring. Ondanks wat dingetjes is het een restaurant wat keihard werkt, oplossingsgericht is en vriendelijk personeel heeft. Daarnaast zag het er ook er uitnodigend uit.

Het broodje zalm was heerlijk maar de bediening kon vele malen beter. We hebben erg lang moeten wachten vanaf de eerste bestelling drinken met de kaart. Helaas was dat ook met de bestelling van het broodje en de tweede ronde van drinken. Maar goed..het broodje zalm was wel het wachten waard. Deze was zo rijkelijk belegd dat ik hem nog eens niet op kreeg.

Ter gelegenheid van een 90e verjaarsviering genoten wij met familieleden en goede vrienden van een uitstekend diner. De verzorging verliep efficient en de bestellingen probleemloos.

This is a very nice place to eat, but the service can improve, it takes quite a while to get the food and even longer to clean the table and pay the bill. The food was good, we had frite, bitterballen, chicken strips and a few drinks. Bitterballen was not the best in my opinion, not as meaty as I have had at other restaurants. The rest of our food was good.

Even langs met mijn vrouw voor een broodje Brie/ honing en een broodje Garpaccio. Heel snel geholpen door zeer vriendelijke bediening. Broodjes goed belegd met verse ingrediënten en drankjes waren prima op orde. Gewoon goed en geholpen door mensen die het vak snappen.

Biertje op terras. Vlot en vriendelijke bediening. Wel wat druk net naast doorgaande weg.

Per toeval "tegen aan gelopen", op zoek naar een mogelijkheid om "een bakkie" te doen op 1e dag vakantieadres. Uiterst vriendelijk personeel. Het bord buiten met "mosselen met friet" was voor mijn vrouw (een Zeeuwse) de reden om naast de koffie ook een hapje te eten. Kan er een lang verhaal van maken maar gewoon een aanrader.

Uit eten met vrienden. Heerlijk eten, uitermate vriendelijke bediening. Brandschone toiletten. Kortom echt het bezoeken waard.

Hier wordt opgewarmd en niet gekookt. Ijs van het toetje zaten ijs schilfers in. Was dus al gedateerd Ik druk mij nog mild uit, hoe ik er eigenlijk over denk! Ga ik niet meer naar toe!

Uitstekend gegeten. Personeel erg vriendelijk en beleefd. Gastvrijheid staat hier hoog in het vaandel. Prettige jonge medewerkers met enthousiasme. Het eten was goed en de porties waren ruim voldoende. Zeer aan te bevelen.
