Without a doubt, this restaurant is highly recommended. The ambiance and decor are charming. The menu has clearly been carefully and passionately crafted. The drink selection is also highly recommended. Hospitality and Expertise are truly paramount here. Reasonable pricing. The staff are very enthusiastic and helpful. A visit to this acclaimed venue is therefore highly recommended. Enjoy an exquisite meal and accompanying drinks.

I've eaten at this restaurant several times already; what a lovely and atmospheric place. Delicious food, from easy dishes to unique culinary creations, a relaxed atmosphere, very friendly service, and affordable too. Thanks again for a wonderful evening!

A friend's tip. Absolutely fantastic. Excellent service and excellent value for money. We had to leave early for the theater. The two who served our table (November 28, 2025 - 7:15 PM) were superb. Perfectly coordinated, we had a relaxed meal, and it was perfectly timed for Tim Kroezen's show.

It's cozy to sit inside, the food is delicious, and the menu is good. The steak tartare is highly recommended!

I've been to Brasserie Tartar several times, but what bothered me from the start was the somewhat unprofessional service. The staff repeatedly walked past your table, where there were no drinks in sight, no menu, nothing. You were shown to your table, where you then sat down, and unless you attracted the attention of the passing staff, you could be sitting there for what seemed like dozens of minutes without anything happening. That never changed, while there might be room for improvement. I've always learned that you should never return empty-handed. I find the staff, with the exception of the owners, rather ignorant. If I ask a question about a dish, they simply say, "I wouldn't know." I understand that it's difficult to find good staff, but: if you feed peanuts, you get monkeys. The menu isn't the problem, and the food is excellent. However, I do find the restaurant's branding rather pretentious. The prices are a bit too high for what you get. It tries to be adult-friendly, but it's not. A decent price for a snack with fries. Not exactly a culinary highlight, and just enough to fill your hollow tooth. I think it's better quality than the neighbors to the right of Tartaar. Still, I prefer it there because you're seen as a customer and don't have to ask if you can please order something to drink or eat. After all, you're there to spend your money, but that makes it a bit difficult...

Nice place, definitely good food, but service isn't the priority. It's probably not run by an owner on the floor, but by a manager with no heart for hospitality. The young but friendly woman at the table tried her best but lacked guidance and quickly returned to the table to ask about anything she wasn't sure about. Her manager's responses to these were sometimes rather unusual. One of them, that you can't get tap water even after ordering two bottles of wine (and not the house wine), is somewhat understandable, although it doesn't demonstrate much hospitality. But the fact that, in the absence of a burner for the cognac, we asked for a hot glass of (tea) water afterward, and then the woman had to return to our table on instruction to tell us she really should "put a cup of tea on the bill" is just plain pathetic. The bill of over €300 for two courses with drinks for four was quite hefty. A place with a lot of potential, but unfortunately, commercialism wins.

The food and drinks were delicious. The tartare, in particular, was exceptionally flavorful and innovative. The wines were excellent, and the service was very relaxed and allowed for a little humorous conversation. The people who work here are fantastic.

Lovely, quiet terrace. Friendly welcome. When I asked for a different sauce for the steak, it wasn't possible. We'd agreed the sauce would be served separately. But that hadn't happened. The result: a sauce I didn't like was spread over almost half the steak. They asked if this was a problem, to which I replied "yes." Nothing happened. I ate the other half. They came to clear the table and asked if my meal was good. I said "no." Then... nothing happened. We gave up, and they simply charged the full price. Price-quality ratio overall: poor. Far too high prices. In short: the staff has absolutely no customer focus. They just do their thing and that's it. What a crappy place.

We were out for a day and ended up in Etten-Leur. Across from the town hall is Brasserie Tartaar. It was relatively quiet, and we were allowed to bring the dog inside, but we still sat on the terrace. The four of us had the Angus burger, which is highly recommended! Perfectly cooked, with a delicious sauce. The fries that came with it were also fantastic! And they came with kimchi mayonnaise (I'd never heard of it, but it was delicious!). The service was very friendly and helpful! If we're ever near Etten-Leur again, we'll definitely go there again!

A pleasant stay with company, the staff at this restaurant are excellent, and I take my hat off to them. Many other restaurants could learn a thing or two from them. The food was delicious, and the menu is definitely recommended. Definitely worth a return visit.

Een dagje weg en wij kwamen in Etten-Leur uit. Tegenover het gemeentehuis is Brasserie Tartaar. Het was redelijk rustig en wij mochten ook met de hond naar binnen, maar toch op het terras gezeten. Met z'n vieren de Angus burger genomen, wat is dat een aanrader! Helemaal goed gebakken, met heerlijke saus. De friet die erbij zat was ook super! En dat met kimchimayonaise (ik had er nooit van gehoord, maar lekker!). Hele fijne en aardige bediening! Als we weer in de buurt van Etten-Leur zijn, gaan we daar weer naar toe!

Heel leuk modern Brasserie mooie kleine lunchkaart en je hebt zelfs een twee gangenmenu waarbij de chef de keuze bepaald en dat is een hoofd en nagerecht personeel is vriendelijk en oplettend en bij binnenkomst voel je je gelijk al thuis de gerechten waren prima op smaak borden mooi opgemaakt en zeer zeker voor herhaling vatbaar

I was there on Wednesday evening. One person in our group was extremely late. But the server was incredibly helpful and made sure the food arrived exactly on time. Truly fantastic service!

Wat een fantastische plek. Prachtig restaurant, gezellig terras. Eten echt super lekker en mooi opgemaakt. Personeel vriendelijk, meedenkend. Echt een aanrader!

Was a bit disappointing, asparagus toppers! (as stated on the menu) Of course we went for the white gold. Portions were on the very small side, for what had to be paid. A few potatoes in a mini-container (Lidl?), few side dishes, and quite a long wait for everything. Starter (1=one) bread roll with spreads. Didn't order dessert. Service itself was fine, friendly and indicated that there were sick people, which meant longer waiting times, which of course is possible. Great location in itself. However, quite expensive for what is served. All in all a bit of a shame.

Offices across the street and an unimaginative layout of the square do not do the atmosphere of the terrace any good.

Nice place, lots of visitors. Food was great. Of course steak tartare and the surprising meat platter for 2, nice bottle of wine and a great cheese platter for dessert. Recommended.

Nice place with a nice terrace, also sheltered from rain, wind or too much sun. Friendly staff who pay attention! Only disadvantage is that prices are actually too high, like in many catering establishments these days.

Very high quality of products and richly filled beautiful plates, everything super fresh. Lovely terrace with lots of space. Pleasant setting clean toilets and very friendly service despite the young age. We enjoyed it very much.

Gingen voor de asperges. Voorgerecht was perfect. Hoofdgerecht bij mij klassieke asperges op Vlaamse wijze een aanfluiting. Eigenaar voegde lachend toe dat de keuken een vreemde interpretatie had gemaakt. Asperges en roerei op het bord gekwakt een lepel bevroren boter en een stapeltje ham zoals de supermarkt ze verpakt. Heel vreemd omdat we eerder hadden gezien dat dit gerecht ook mooi opgemaakt geserveerd werd.

Het is aspergetijd! Wat een plezierige ontvangst. We komen voor de asperges en kunnen kiezen uit meerdere gerechten, allen met zorg bereidt. Mijn keuze viel op briochebrood met asperges, beenham en een gezellig gepocheerd eitje. Alles zag er prachtig uit en was zeer smaakvol. Een reden om nog eens terug te gaan

Indeed, they only want to make good money and pass by your table, so in terms of friendliness it could be a lot better. The food is tasty, but there are better restaurants, but I will say something for everyone

Great, you can have a nice lunch there. Bottle of water and Latte then we ordered….. a carpaccio sandwich and salad with asparagus. And it was really tasty! 😋

*Update April 2025* Nice tent near the market in Etten-Leur. Good service, good food and nice terrace. Inside the atmosphere is less, still too much of a building block (the restaurant in front of it also suffered from this) In terms of food, they have done something with the criticism we gave years ago. We then indicated that the food was a bit on the expensive side in terms of price/quality. They did something about that; the excellent food is now a good price, but just a lot less. Normally you would say that a main course should be enough, but we ended up having some fries afterwards. Very unfortunate. So quality/price is still wrong. Service is great these days! Oh, have a very good PS martini (especially compared to the neighbors)

We really enjoyed the delicious asparagus with pork belly, highly recommended. Very friendly service. We are from the Belgian coast where friendliness is in short supply, so it was a great experience for us.

Had a great meal at Tartaar. It was a busy Saturday night, the service was very polite and proactive: When ordering the main course, it was already indicated that it could take a little longer due to a large group. Very good food, the hamburger was slightly spicy, which I personally like. The Rib eye was a lot smaller in size than expected. Furthermore, Tartaar is very atmospheric, recommended for a nice night out!

Very nice restaurant, very nice decor, atmosphere is always pleasant and the staff is very knowledgeable and always friendly!!! Staff is also very helpful and has an answer to all your questions!!! If there is a problem, it is resolved immediately on site and they ensure that it does not happen again!!! The menu is very extensive and contains very tasty different dishes, something for everyone!!! The dishes are of very good quality and you always have a very successful evening out here!!!

A wonderful place to eat great food and receive friendly service. What is served here as “house wine” (Portuguese red wine) hardly makes it onto other menus. The steak tartare (as a starter) is an absolute dream! The service is super friendly and quick. The restaurant is definitely a big recommendation!

Good food, but when I was there at an event I received a particularly rude snarl from the staff several times when I accidentally sat/stand in the wrong place. Very unfortunate for an otherwise excellent business.

Voor het eerst op het mooie ruime terras een lunch genuttigd. Wij hadden het lunchplankje. Het is een echte aanrader. Zelfs voor mijn hondje was er aandacht. Vroegen gelijk of zij water wilde. Zeer attent personeel en oog voor iedere klant.

Everything was great! Food was very tasty and the service was very good! We called in advance to ask if we could also order from the dinner menu during lunch, this was no problem. It was neatly stated that this would just take longer.

The owner and her daughter are very friendly, as is her husband who works in the kitchen. No effort is too much for them to please their customers. The dishes are of high quality; the associated pricing is certainly reasonable. We always enjoy coming here.

For our Christmas Eve dinner outside the door. Reserved in a nice establishment, for the Christmas menu. It was pleasantly busy and the service was good. The food was served in a calm manner. The quality is good, only the Pieterman was a bit dry and stiff. Definitely an opportunity for us to go back to "taste" the regular menu.

Was echt perfect we hadden een jongeman als bediening welke de achterhoek niet kende maar wel de zwarte cross. Top service

Voor de 1e keer hier gegeten. We moesten erg lang wachten op hoofdgerecht. Men kwam sorry zeggen ( bonnen waren per abuis verwisseld. Daar bleef het ook bij. Ik had sate vd bbq. Smaak goed, maat erg weinig sate. Mijn vrouw had een burger, ook van geproefd, vond het echt niet lekker. Leuk om een x te doen maar voor ons niet voor herhaling vatbaar. Ruim €60 voor mini sate 4 drankjes en een burger is best geld.

Nice place, around the corner from the shopping center. A slightly quieter spot with a view on City Hall and its fountain and the church. Nice decoration inside, separations make the space cozy (though we've always sat outside so far). Service is good, food is good, price is good. A great spot to refresh. One of our favourite destinations when we take our dog for a longer walk :-) Vegetarian options are available. Personally, we were very happy with the vegetarian pokebowl (as "flexitarians" we enjoy this option). Unfortunately this dish is no longer on the menu (hope it comes back!).

Onverwachts gebeld of er plaats was en konden terecht. Wederom heel goed en vers, snap direct waarom het hier zo druk is. De soep van de chef zaterdag de 29e, nog nooit zulke lekkere soep op.

Kerstdiner op tweede kerstdag bij Tartaar gegeten. De zaak zat goed vol. Lekker eten, vriendelijke, attente bediening. We zijn zondag met vrienden teruggegaan en opnieuw goed gegeten. Herhalingsgevaar is groot

Lekker gegeten en ook vriendelijk personeel. Weer allemaal net even anders. Gelukkig niet al te grote kaart, zodat kiezen niet te moeilijk is, maar zeker voor ieder wat wils. Kom er graag nog keertje terug

Lekkere lunch en heerlijk bittergarnituur. Vooral het kaasplankje met gefrituurde en diverse kazen was verrassend lekker. Verder ook zeer vriendelijk personeel. Een aanrader wanneer je in Etten-Leur bent, bijv. op de kermis.

Heerlijk gegeten met een gezelschap van 6. Bediening is super met uitleg van de gerechten. Eten was heerlijk en mals. Kalfs picanha op van de green egg. Aanrader. Maar iedereen had zijn bord ver leeg. Goed teken! Komen graag nog een keer.

Lekker gegeten en een fijne bediening en sfeer

Leuke brasserie, goed eten, wel wat lawaaierig. Prima bediening. Gelukkig ook voor visliefhebbers.

Kon ons niet bekoren. Heel gewoon, niks bijzonders. Dit hadden we al eerder ervaren, maar je hoopt altijd dat het beter wordt. Jammer hoor.

We hebben hier gegeten toen WK Nederland moest voetballen. Het was heerlijk rustig. We hebben hier diverse gerechten op. Allen waren goed van smaak en de porties waren meer dan voldoende. De bediening was vriendelijk.
